Spencer Reidâs earliest memories were not linear.
They didnât arrive in neat timelines or clearly defined years the way most peopleâs did. Instead, they came in fragments, sensory impressions stacked on top of one another like transparencies. The smell of old books and pencil shavings. The squeak of sneakers on linoleum floors. The grounding weight of silence that followed him everywhere like a shadow.
And you.
You were always there.
Not as a single moment he could point to, but as a presence threaded through everything else. A constant variable in a life that otherwise felt too fast and loud. When he tried to trace the beginning of you, his mind failed him. You simply existed, already seated beside him at a small desk that was too short for his legs, already tugging at his sleeve because heâd drifted too far into his thoughts.
He remembered the way classrooms felt before you. So overwhelming in their chaos, filled with scraping chairs and overlapping voices that made his chest tighten. And then he remembered how that sensation softened once you started sitting next to him. How the noise blurred at the edges when your knee pressed lightly against his under the desk, a small, unconscious anchor that told his body it was safe to stay.
You learned early that he startled easily.
Not from fear, exactly, but from intrusion. From the suddenness of touch that didnât announce itself, from hands that appeared without warning. So you announced yourself in a language only the two of you seemed to share. A gentle brush of fingers against his arm before leaning closer. A whisper of his name before tugging on his sleeve. Your touch was never sharp. It was slow. Predictable. Kind.
He remembered your hands most vividly.
They were always warm, even in winter, even when youâd come inside from the cold with pink cheeks and a runny nose, fingers immediately seeking his like they had a homing instinct. You held onto him the way children hold onto railings, not because theyâre afraid of falling, but because it feels wrong not to. During assemblies, when hundreds of bodies packed together and the air grew thick and stale, you would lace your fingers through his and squeeze in quiet reassurance, counting his breaths with your thumb like you were teaching him how to exist in the world without it hurting.
No one ever told you not to touch him.
Maybe the teachers saw how he calmed when you did. How his foot stopped bouncing. How his gaze returned to the room instead of disappearing somewhere far away. Or maybe they simply didnât notice, because you were small and bright and harmless, and he was the strange, gifted boy everyone had already decided was fragile.
Spencer never thought of it as touch.
It was just you.
You leaning against him during silent reading, your head resting briefly on his shoulder as if it were the most natural thing in the world. You sitting on the floor beside him during recess instead of running with the other kids, tracing shapes into the carpet while he explained things he was too young to have words for yet. You pressing your forehead to his when he cried quietly in the nurseâs office after another kid called him a freak.
You were there when the world became too much.
You were there when he forgot how to be small.
By the time Spencer realized most people didnât live their lives with someoneâs hand wrapped around their sleeve, it was already too late. The habit had settled into his bones. Your presence had become synonymous with safety, with warmth, with the idea that closeness didnât always have to hurt.
And so, years later, when Spencer Reid invited you to a BAU Christmas party, he didnât consider it an anomaly.
He didnât stop to question the decision or examine the possible outcomes the way he usually did. Inviting you felt less like a choice and more like a continuation, like picking up a sentence heâd started years ago and never quite finished. He didnât think about the way your hand would inevitably find his arm when you arrived, or how your fingers would curl around his sleeve with the same quiet certainty they always had. He didnât think about how his body would recognize yours before his mind ever could, adjusting instinctively, shifting just enough to make space for you.
He only knew that where you were, he could breathe.
âSpencer!â
Your voice reached him before you did, cutting through the low murmur of conversation and soft instrumental Christmas music drifting through the bullpen. Spencer turned just in time to see you weaving through the room, eyes alight, cardigan slightly crooked like youâd put it on in a hurry. You crossed the distance between you quickly, as if drawn by gravity, and slipped into his space without hesitation.
Your hand landed on his arm and squeezed once, affectionate and grounding.
âOh my god,â you said, glancing around with wide eyes. âEveryoneâs so tall.â
Spencer smiled immediately.
It happened before he could stop it, before his brain could catch up and assess or analyze. The tension he hadnât even realized heâd been carrying all evening loosened, his shoulders dropping a fraction as your warmth settled in beside him. The room felt quieter suddenly, smaller, more manageable.
âThey are?â he asked, blinking. His gaze followed yours as he took in the room properly for the first time: Morgan towering near the refreshment table, Emily leaning casually against a desk, Hotch standing straight as ever near the tree. âI meanâyes, I suppose they are. The average height here is probably above the nationalââ
âSpence,â you interrupted gently, laughter soft and fond as you leaned into his side. Your shoulder brushed his chest, your head tipping toward him in a way that was so unconscious it felt rehearsed. âIâm not asking for data.â
âOh,â he said, equally gentle. âRight. Sorry.â
You tilted your head against his shoulder for half a second, just long enough for the contact to register, just long enough to remind his body of something old and steady. It was the same motion youâd made as a child when you were tired or excited or simply content to be near him.
âI think Iâve just spent too much time with little humans,â you continued thoughtfully, eyes still scanning the room. âAdults feelâŠelongated.â
âElongated,â he repeated, testing the word like it was a new puzzle piece. âThatâs a good descriptor.â
You straightened slightly, pleased. âThank you. I pride myself on my vocabulary.â
Then you looked up at him, your expression softening in a way only he ever seemed to notice. âYou okay?â
âYes,â he answered immediately, the truth spilling out before he could overthink it. Then, after a beat, quieter and more honest: âBetter now.â
Your thumb brushed absently over the fabric of his sleeve, tracing a small, unconscious arc. âGood.â
The BAU around you hummed with quiet holiday energy. Paper cups clinking, someone laughing near the coffee station, the faint smell of pine and sugar cookies lingering in the air. White lights blinked lazily along the edge of desks, reflecting off computer screens and tinsel. It was festive in a restrained, slightly awkward way. Very on brand.
You took it all in with open curiosity.
âSo,â you said, gesturing vaguely with your free hand, never letting go of him. âThis is where you disappear to all day.â
âDisappear isâŠnot inaccurate,â he said. âAlthough I do technically remain in the same physical location.â
You grinned. âGood to know. And these,â you added, nodding toward the team, âare your work people?â
He nodded. âTheyâreâŠimportant to me.â
Something softened in your expression at that. Your grip on his arm tightened just a little. Not possessive, just protective. âOkay,â you said quietly. âIâll be good.â
He frowned, confused in the way only Spencer Reid could be. âYouâre always good.â
âI mean,â you clarified, smiling, âIâll try not to embarrass you.â
âYou donât,â he said quickly, the words tumbling out with quiet urgency. Then he hesitated, searching for the right phrasing. âI meanâŠyouâve never been a source of embarrassment.â
You laughed, warm and delighted, and leaned closer again. âThat might be the nicest thing anyoneâs ever said to me.â
Across the room, the team watched.
JJâs eyebrows lifted. Emilyâs lips parted slightly. Morganâs grin grew slow and incredulous. Because it was like watching a celestial event. So rare, impossible, beautiful in a way you couldnât quite explain.
Spencer Reid, fully relaxed.
Spencer Reid, smiling without restraint.
Spencer Reid, being touched without recoiling.
It was like seeing Halleyâs Comet.
And neither of you even noticed.
It was crazy.
The moment Spencer finished introducing youâbarely managing to get your name out before you were already smiling at everyoneâyou launched into a story like the words had been waiting just beneath your tongue all night. You stayed tucked into his side, your hand still looped comfortably around his arm, fingers absentmindedly gripping his sleeve as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Your free hand moved constantly as you spoke, expressive and animated, tracing invisible shapes in the air. You talked with your whole body, voice bright with wonder and enthusiasm, the kind that pulled people in without effort.
âSo my class is doing this thing where they write letters to Santa,â you said, eyes darting between the team members as if you were letting them in on something important. âWhich is adorable, obviously. Like, painfully adorable. But then one of my kids raises his hand and asks if Santa has an email because,â you paused, lips twitching, ââwriting is too slow.ââ
You laughed, breathless and delighted, and without thinking leaned your head briefly against Spencerâs shoulder, the motion unconscious and practiced.
Spencer felt it before he processed it.
His hand twitched at his side before lifting and settling gently at your elbow. His fingers barely pressed, just enough to keep you steady, to anchor you where you were.
No tension. No hesitation.
Just instinct.
âStatistically,â Spencer added calmly, slipping into the conversation like heâd always been part of it, his voice low and thoughtful, âchildren are adapting to digital communication at increasingly younger ages. Their frustration tolerance for slower methods is decreasing.â
You turned to him like heâd just solved a mystery.
âSee?â you said triumphantly, pointing at him before looking back at the team, still clinging to his arm. âThis is why I keep him around. He makes my classroom chaos sound academic.â
âI think it already is,â Spencer said softly, glancing down at you. âYouâre shaping cognitive development during a critical stage.â
You blinked, caught for half a second, then smiled and leaned a little closer. âThatâs because youâre sweet.â
Across the room, JJâs chest tightened a little at the way Spencer looked at you. Completely unguarded, eyes warm, attention wholly yours. There was something deeply familiar in the way he stood with you, like this version of him had always existed and the rest of the world just didnât get to see it.
There was history there.
Emily tilted her head, studying you with open curiosity. âKindergarten?â she asked, impressed. âThat takes a special kind of patience.â
You nodded solemnly. âAnd an acceptance that glitter is now a permanent lifestyle.â
Morgan laughed, arms crossing. âYou seem⊠surprisingly cheerful about that.â
You shrugged, squeezing Spencerâs arm again like it was second nature. âTheyâre good kids. Loud. Sticky. But good.â
Spencer watched you as you talked, the way your nose scrunched when you laughed, the way you rocked slightly on your feet when you got excited. Heel to toe, like you always had. He remembered you doing that in the school library, whispering about wanting a classroom full of color while he folded paper into perfect stars, sliding the prettiest ones toward you without saying a word.
Back then, youâd leaned against him too.
He remembered thinking, even then, that it was easier to breathe when you did. That the world felt quieter when you were close.
âSo anyway,â you continued, still glowing, squeezing Spencerâs arm again as if the story itself needed anchoring, âthey decided glitter was a necessary addition.â
You nodded decisively, brows knitting in mock seriousness. âWhich it is. Artistically speaking. But now Iâm finding glitter in my shoes. In my bag. Iâm ninety percent sure it followed me here. Like a parasite.â
Spencer hummed thoughtfully, his grip at your elbow adjusting just slightly, protective without being possessive, familiar without being conscious. âThatâs consistent with craft-related contamination,â he said, utterly serious. âGlitter has a high persistence rate once introduced into an environment. Itâs extremely difficult to eliminate completely.â
Your eyes widened like heâd just confirmed a conspiracy. âI knew it.â
A quiet laugh escaped him before he could stop it.
Morgan finally couldnât help himself. âReid.â
Spencer glanced over, distracted but polite. âYes?â
âYou okay there, man?â
âYes,â Spencer replied without hesitation. âWhy wouldnât I be?â
Emily exchanged a look with JJ.
When you eventually stepped away to grab a drink, you did it reluctantly. Like you were peeling yourself out of a place you belonged. Your fingers brushed along Spencerâs wrist as you went, the contact light but intentional, a familiar goodbye that wasnât really a goodbye at all.
âIâll be right back,â you said, already half-smiling like you knew you would be.
Spencer nodded, though the words didnât quite register.
He didnât track your movement analytically. Didnât follow the angles of your path or note the number of steps between desks the way he usually did with everything else. His mind didnât reach for data or probability or pattern.
He justâŠwatched.
Watched the way the room seemed to expand the second you left his side, noise rushing back in where youâd been like air filling a vacuum. Watched the lights feel harsher, the music louder, the conversations less distinct. The warmth at his arm faded too quickly, leaving behind something hollow and unfamiliar, an absence he couldnât immediately name but felt acutely.
His hand lingered where youâd been, fingers curling slightly, unconsciously, like they were waiting for the shape of you to return.
And the second you were out of earshotâ
âYou let her touch you,â JJ said gently.
Spencer blinked, still looking in your direction. âSheâs always touched me,â he replied, confused by the implication.
âFor your entire life,â Morgan added, voice softer than his usual teasing, like he was stating a fact rather than a joke.
Spencer finally looked away from you.
He paused.
Not because he disagreed, but because something in his chest shifted, slow and seismic, like a realization settling into place after years of being ignored.
He thought of scraped knees on hot pavement and you pressing Band-Aids on crooked because you were too young to care about precision. Of science fairs where youâd sat cross-legged beside him, handing him pencils while he talked too fast and too much. Of long nights on the phone after his mom had bad days, your voice low, telling him it was okay to be tired.
He thought of thunderstorms, of you padding down the hallway in socked feet, climbing into his bed without asking, curling into his side like youâd always known you were allowed. Of how youâd held onto him then, too. Like he was solid ground. Like he wouldnât disappear.
âOh,â he said softly.
The word barely made a sound.
Across the room, you turned just then, drink in hand, eyes searching until they found him. Your face lit up immediately, the same unguarded smile youâd worn when you were seven years old and had decided that Spencer Reid was your friend.
You walked back without hesitation.
Your hand slipped into the crook of his arm again, familiar as breathing.
âMiss me?â you asked lightly.
Spencer didnât even notice the moment his hand closed over yours.
But the team did.
The BAU bullpen looked exactly the same the next morning, down to the smallest, most mundane details that Spencer Reid usually found comfort in. The fluorescent lights hummed softly overhead, an unchanging mechanical sound that blended seamlessly with the quiet tapping of keyboards and the low murmur of early-morning voices. Computer screens glowed in muted blues and grays, some already filled with case files, others blinking patiently as they waited to be logged into. A printer whirred somewhere near the back, followed by the faint thump of paper landing in a tray. The ever-present smell of burnt coffee hung in the air, bitter and sharp, curling around the cleaner scent of paper, toner, and industrial disinfectant. Everything was familiar. Structured. Predictable in a way that usually steadied him.
And yet Spencer Reid feltâŠexposed.
It wasnât the kind of exposure he could quantify or explain with statistics or probability. It wasnât logical. It was the subtle, unnerving awareness that something about him had shifted, had been seen, and that the room, unchanged as it was, somehow knew. As he stepped inside, he adjusted the strap of his messenger bag on instinct, fingers tightening briefly around the worn canvas. He could feel it then: the way attention moved toward him, quiet and understated. No one was staring outright. No one needed to. It was in the pauses, the half-glances, the way conversations seemed to soften and bend in his direction. Enough to make his skin prickle, a faint tension humming just beneath the surface.
He reached his desk and set his bag down carefully, aligning it with the edge the way he always did. He nudged it a fraction of an inch to the left. Straightened the strap. Sat down. The ritual mattered. His hands hovered over the keyboard longer than usual before he powered on the monitor, as if delaying might give him time to recalibrate, time to return to the version of himself that fit more neatly into this space.
âSo,â Morgan said.
The single syllable cracked through the air like a starting gun.
Spencer looked up, heart giving an unhelpful, traitorous skip. Morgan was leaning casually against the edge of his desk, arms crossed over his chest, posture loose and confident. There was already a grin pulling at his mouth, the kind that told Spencer this was not a neutral observation. Emily had turned fully in her chair, one leg hooked over the armrest, her gaze sharp and assessing in that familiar, almost profiling way. JJ stood nearby with a stack of files pressed to her chest, eyes bright, expression far too gentle to be innocent. No one else in the bullpen appeared to be paying attention, but Spencer knew better. This was a controlled environment. An audience existed whether he acknowledged it or not.
âYes?â He said, straightening, shoulders pulling back automatically.
âBig night,â Morgan said lightly.
âIt was a Christmas party,â Spencer replied. âThatâs not statistically significant.â
JJâs smile widened just a little, like she was trying not to laugh. âYou brought someone.â
âYes.â
Emily tilted her head, studying him. âSomeone youâve known since you wereâŠwhat, eight?â
âSeven,â Spencer corrected without thinking.
Morganâs grin deepened, pleased. âAnd yet none of us have ever met her.â
Spencer frowned, brow furrowing as he processed the implication. âThat doesnât meanââ
âIt means,â Emily interrupted smoothly, âthat when we did meet her, she was wrapped around your arm like sheâd been there a thousand times before.â
Spencer opened his mouth, then stopped.
He paused, visibly recalibrating. This was a question that required precision. Language mattered. Context mattered. He searched carefully for the right explanation, the kind that could translate something deeply intuitive into something reasonable.
âShe was comfortable,â he said finally. âWe have a long-standing familiarity with physical proximity.â
Morgan let out a low, impressed whistle. âListen to him.â
JJ laughed quietly. âYou donât even let me touch you.â
Spencer blinked, genuinely confused. âYou touch me frequently.â
âOn the shoulder,â JJ clarified gently. âFor about half a second.â
Emily leaned forward, elbows resting on her knees. âShe leaned her entire body on you.â
Spencer felt heat creep up the back of his neck, ears warming in a way he absolutely did not appreciate. âThatâsâŠdifferent.â
Morgan raised an eyebrow. âHow?â
Spencer hesitated.
He did what he always didâsearched his mental catalogue for the correct word, the right classificationâbut came up empty. The truth hovered just beyond his reach, too large, too amorphous to pin down with language. It wasnât about touch alone. It wasnât about habit. It was something quieter. Older. Something that lived in muscle memory and breath.
âI donât know,â he admitted quietly. âIt just is.â
The silence that followed wasnât uncomfortable. It was knowing.
Then Garciaâs voice burst cheerfully from her office, bright and theatrical. âOh my god. Are we talking about the girl?â
Spencer winced. âGarciaââ
âShe was adorable,â Penelope continued, rolling herself halfway out of her chair, eyes sparkling. âSunshine in human form. And you lookedââ she paused theatrically, one hand pressed to her chest, ââunreasonably happy.â
Spencer dropped his gaze to his desk, suddenly very invested in the pattern of the wood grain. âI am happy regularly.â
Morgan snorted. âReid, you smiled without being prompted.â
âThat happens,â Spencer said, voice weaker than he liked.
Emily smiled, kind and knowing. âYou held her hand.â
Spencer froze.
âIââ He stopped short, memory rushing in with startling clarity: your fingers sliding into his, warm and sure, the way his thumb had moved without permission, tracing the back of your hand as if it had always known where to go. âThat wasâŠnot intentional.â
JJâs expression softened completely. âBut you didnât pull away.â
âNo,â he admitted, voice barely above a murmur.
Hotch chose that moment to step out of his office, coffee in hand, gaze sweeping over the bullpen with practiced efficiency. His eyes lingered on the loose semicircle, the half-smiles, Spencerâs unmistakably pink ears.
âIs there a reason work hasnât started yet?â Hotch asked.
âNo reason,â JJ said quickly. âJustâŠteam bonding.â
Hotchâs eyes lingered on Spencer for a fraction longer than necessary, then he nodded. âReid. Briefing in ten.â
âYes, sir.â
As the team dispersed, Spencer sat back down, heart beating just a little faster than usual. The bullpen slowly returned to its normal rhythm, the noise settling into something familiar again.
His phone buzzed against the desk.
He glanced down.
Good morning! <3
Did your work people survive me?
Something warm unfurled in his chest, slow and undeniable, spreading outward until it softened the tightness he hadnât realized he was carrying.
His lips curved upward before he could stop them.
Emily noticed immediately. Morgan did too.
âOh,â Morgan said softly. âHeâs smiling again.â
A quiet huff of laughter escaped him, softer than he meant it to be. His fingers hovered over the keyboard as he debated his response, eventually attempting one of the strange combinations of symbols youâd taught him.
Around him, the BAU kept moving.
But Spencer Reid stayed smiling at his only exception.
summary: spencer accidentally let it slip that he has a wife, but he thought that they knew
The bullpen is louder than usual.
A case just closed â messy, exhausting, emotionally draining â but closed. And that always brings a certain kind of restless energy to the team.
âAlright,â Derek announces, spinning slightly in his chair. âWe deserve a drink. Real one. Not whateverâs been fermenting in the break room coffee pot.â
Emily snorts. âSeconded.â
âThirded,â JJ adds, already grabbing her bag.
Spencer doesnât look up at first. Heâs reorganizing his go-bag with that meticulous focus he gets when heâs trying to decompress.
Hotch gives a small nod. âOne hour. Then home.â
Morgan leans back in his chair and eyes Spencer. âYou in, Pretty Boy?â
Spencer finally looks up, blinking like he just remembered heâs in a room full of people.
âOh, um.â He glances at his watch. âI actually should probably head home.â
Morgan frowns dramatically. âSince when do you skip celebratory drinks?â
Spencer shrugs. Casual, almost too casual.
âMy wife doesnât love when I get back too late after a case. It messes with our routine.â
Silence.
Not the normal end-of-shift shuffle silence.
The kind where the air changes.
Emily freezes mid-zip of her purse. JJ slowly turns around. Morganâs smile drops.
ââŠYour what?â he asks carefully.
Spencer blinks at him, âMy wife.â
Morgan stands up fully now. âYour what?â
Spencer looks genuinely confused. âMy wife? Why are you repeating it like that?â
âReid,â Emily says slowly, âyou donât have a wife.â
Spencer stares at her, âYes, I do.â
JJâs eyebrows shoot up. âSince when?â
Spencerâs forehead creases like theyâre the ones being ridiculous, âSince 2012.â
Morganâs mouth actually falls open. âTwo thousand andâ Reid that was years ago.â
âYes,â Spencer says patiently. âThatâs generally how time works.â
âSpencer,â JJ says gently, âwe would know if you were married.â
Spencerâs lips press together in mild disbelief, âI assumed you did know.â
âHow?â Morgan practically shouts.
Spencer gestures vaguely. âI wear a ring?â
All of them look down. He does. A simple silver band. Always has. They just never clocked it. It blended in with his watch and the ink stains and the everything else that is Spencer Reid.
Emily steps closer. âYouâre serious.â
Spencer exhales softly. âOf course Iâm serious. Why would I joke about that?â
Morgan runs a hand over his head. âOkay, okay. Hold up. Youâre married. To who?â
Emily crosses her arms. âSo let me get this straight. Youâve been married for over a decade and weâve never met her?â
Spencer blinks. âWell⊠yes.â
Morgan points at him. âThatâs insane.â
Spencer looks offended. âItâs not insane.â
âItâs a little insane,â JJ says gently.
Spencer shakes his head, standing now, suddenly protective in a way theyâve never seen before.
âSheâs not a secret,â he insists. âI just⊠I donât bring her into this.â
Morgan narrows his eyes. âWhy not?â
Spencer goes quiet for a moment.
And when he speaks again, his voice is softer. Not defensive anymore. Just honest.
âBecause this job takes things.â
The room stills.
âShe met me when I was just starting at the BAU. Before any of the⊠really bad stuff.â He swallows. âSheâs seen what this job does. To all of us.â
Emilyâs expression softens.
Spencer continues.
âShe was there when I couldnât sleep after my first execution-style case. She sat with me and read out loud because I couldnât get the images out of my head.â
JJâs eyes glisten.
âShe was there when my momâs condition got worse. When I didnât know how to handle it. She learned about schizophrenia just so she could understand what I grew up with.â
Morgan shifts, quieter now.
âAnd when Iââ
Spencer stops.
The prison memory hangs heavy in the air without him even saying it.
His jaw tightens.
âWhen I was in prison,â he finishes softly, âshe visited every week. Even when I told her not to.â
Emily inhales slowly.
Spencerâs voice steadies, âShe wrote to me every day. She memorized the visitor protocols. She advocated for me when no one else could. She never once doubted that Iâd come home.â
Morganâs teasing expression is completely gone now.
âShe kept our apartment exactly the same,â Spencer continues, almost like heâs replaying it in his mind. âShe said she didnât want me walking into something unfamiliar.â
JJ wipes at her eye discreetly.
Spencer looks down at his ring, âSheâs been there for every version of me. The anxious twenty-something. The grieving son. The addict. The inmate. The profiler who canât always leave work at work.â
His lips twitch faintly, âSheâs the only constant Iâve ever had.â
The room is completely silent.
Morgan finally speaks, softer than theyâve ever heard him.
âWhy didnât you tell us?â
Spencer hesitates, âBecause this job makes enemies,â he says quietly. âAnd I could never forgive myself if something happened to her because of me.â
That lands harder than expected.
Hotch nods once. He understands that logic more than anyone.
Emily steps forward slightly. âSo you just⊠what? Go home every night and we never knew?â
Spencer gives a small shrug, âYes.â
Morgan exhales slowly. âReid, thatâs not something small.â
Spencer tilts his head, âItâs not small to me.â
Thereâs no arrogance in it. Just certainty.
âShe makes me dinner when I forget to eat. She leaves sticky notes in my books when she knows Iâll be stressed. She reminds me that Iâm more than my IQ and my trauma.â
His voice softens again, âShe married me when I was still figuring out how to exist in the world. Thatâs not small.â
JJ smiles through tears. âDoes she know what you do?â
âYes.â
âAnd sheâs okay with it?â
Spencer nods, âShe worries. But she says sheâd rather love me in a dangerous world than not love me at all.â
Morgan shakes his head slowly, âReid, thatâs real.â

â las vegas gp (saturday)
if it werenât for the fact that bianca was your best friend and you were expected as the maid of honor, no amount of money could have dragged soleila huberts to this bachelorette party. in an ideal world, you would have been comfortably on your bed, with a bottle of franceâs finest red wine to lick your wounds and pride after being left at the altar. bianca brown must have had something on you, some blackmailing material, that would explain your presence in this city of sin, watching people grind at each other.
now you were here, at biancaâs bachelorette party and trying your best to be happy for your best friend. which you were. the timing was just making you salty.
âsol, youâre here,â a voice suddenly yelled at you and you were brought out from your thoughts just as bianca engulfed you in a tight hug. âfinally. one more second with gwendolyn and i swear my wedding would have taken place in jail.â
âi still donât understand why you even invited her if we both hate her,â you replied, internally already rolling your eyes at the thought of having to spend the night in presence of gwen.
in the beginning, not being liked by his family, had nearly destroyed their relationship but after firmly assuring bianca that no matter what his family said, he loved her and you threatening to poison his family, bianca had learned to be unbothered by it. didnât mean however that she wasnât jumping at any chance to impress her future in-laws. and apparently inviting her future cousin-in-law was a way to that.
âsol, you know how much she hates me,â bianca whined and grabbed your arm. âso i thought maybe by inviting her to my bachelorette, she would finally start warming up to me.â
you managed to hide your snort as you looked at biancaâs hopeful expression.
âthat was the shittiest idea you could have had and i went live on instagram and drunkenly ranted about how men are trash,â you told her. that video was truly the cherry on top for all the bad things that had happened these past few weeks. it seemed to follow you wherever you went and was the nr.1 topic in the social baking and cooking world. not to forget your sponsors and board who were starting to make your life hell.
âi know,â she admitted, pouting. âand itâs ruining MY bachelorette party and â oh no, here she comes. sol, try to stay polite,â bianca warned you in a low tone as a tall woman approached you with the most obvious fake smile you had ever seen. just like every time you have had the displeasure of being in gwendolynâs company, she looked virtually perfect this time too. her hair was put up in a neat sleek-bun, her nails spotted a perfect manicure and her heels were sharp enough to probably draw blood on skin. not to mention the white tailored blazer dress she was wearing, which you were sure she had done on purpose.
âbianca and⊠soleila. surprised to see you here,â gwendolyn greeted them. âi heard what happened⊠i assumed you wouldnât be coming after that⊠misfortune.â
âiâm so over it already,â you flashed her a wide, fake smile and grabbed biancaâs hand. âi couldnât miss bebeâs bachelorette party and marriage. iâm so happy for her.â
gwendolyn glanced at you, not really believing one word that came out of your mouth. âgreat for you. weâre all so glad you could make it.â
âi never could have missed sean and bebe becoming husband and wife,â you retorted back. point for me, you thought when gwendolyn huffed before she went back to the other girls. you exhaled and finished the remainder of your drink, enjoying the way the alcohol burned against your throat.
âwhat a bitch,â you muttered underneath your breath and bianca giggled.
âsheâs torturing herself and both of us at the same time. she could have simply declined.â
bianca snorted. âshe would have never. her pride wouldnât allow it.â she glanced at her phone. âokay, we really have to start now. itâs nine pm already so letâs get this party started.â
you both joined the rest of the invited girls and bianca climbed onto a seat. âletâs get this party started,â she hollered over the music and you had to dodge a woman sitting nearby you with already too many glasses of champagne probably. except gwendolyn, you were all wearing small tiaras and shirts that said âsheâs not a single lady anymoreâ while biancaâs shirt said âhe liked it so he put a ring on itâ. your shit was topped over your pink dress in order to fit with your pink stilettos.Â
âso we have a tight programme here but after that youâre free to party or go to sleep or whatever. and thanks luise for organizing all this,â bianca blew the red-haired woman an air kiss. âweâre firstly hitting a restaurant for dinner, chosen by our dearest soleila, then a strip club where we can also learn how to give some lap dances â not that some of you donât already know â, followed by a casino and then our final destination is a club to dance the night away!â
just from biancaâs excitement, you could see just how much effort had gone into planning this night with luise and two weeks ago, your enthusiasm for all those things would have been through the roof. now however you were unable to bring out more than a smile and internally your guilt was just growing stronger for ruining your best friendâs bachelorette party. being left at the altar by lennart had destroyed something in you. the inner child-part of you who had her fairytale wedding come through just for it to end in humiliation and shame. it had practically burned your many pinterest boards where you had been planning your wedding since discovering the application. lennart had taken a part of you.
a familiar sting of pain shot through your chest as you watched bianca smile and show off her engagement ring to some of the other girls. nostalgia was hitting you fast and not even alcohol seemed to do the trick of making you ignore and suppressing the memories of when you had been the girl to show off your ring. your eyes met biancaâs and for a moment you could see the worry in her eyes but you quickly shook your head and forced a smile on your lips. you were adamant on not ruining your best friendâs night.
you drew in a sharp breath and refilled your glass with champagne. from the corner of your eyes you could see gwendolynâs eyes linger on you as if she was just waiting for you to finally break, which she probably was. but she would wait for a long time if she expected you to shed tears again. thank god, the many wine bottles had taken care of that while you nursed your wounds. tonight, the old you was coming out, whether she wanted or not.
soleila mbaye hubert was making her comeback in vegas tonight.
your pink stilettos were glittering in the moonlight as you and the rest of the girls walked the famous vegas strip along to get to the club. you were all, at the lowest tipsy or completely drunk and in some mysterious way still buzzing with energy even though the planned activities had exhausted you all. you had stayed an hour longer at the strip club than planned because after bianca had gotten a lap dance from a gorgeous woman, you all, except gwendolyn, had insisted on one. and after the restaurant you had hit the casinos but none of you all had actually known how to play poker or blackjack. you were able to win some money at russian roulette but all that was spent again when you lost heavily at poker. nonetheless you had had fun and it felt good to have the old soleila back for the night.
now, as the last thing planned for the night, you were about to hit the club to finish the night off in high spirits. and since sean had never been able to say no to bianca, a table at the vip-lounge in one of vegasâ most exclusive clubs was waiting for you. and you would be lying if you said that you werenât looking forward to at least dancing your problems away.
âweâre going to have so much fun tonight! and weâre in vip!â luise yelled from behind you once the bouncer of the club let you in and led you to the secluded VIP-area.
âo.m.g. weâre with the celebrities here,â another bridesmaid, whose name you did not remember anymore, replied in the same volume. she let out another shriek and covered her mouth with her hand as her expression morphed to shock. âthat guy over there was on love island! and thereâs madeleine petsch and victoria justice!â
you all made your way through the crowd to get to your table, occasionally pointing out which other celebrities you could spot in the vip-area. it also made you wonder just why so many celebrities were here â not that you have never met any but it was unusual for you to see so many in one spot. but as much as you tried to recall any special event around vegas this weekend, your brain came up with nothing.
another screech from luise startled you out of your thoughts. âguys⊠thereâs travis scott. oh my god, i need a picture.â except for gwendolyn and bianca, whom you had lost sight of, they all rushed past you, nearly tripping over each other as they tried to get closer to the rapper. one of biancaâs friends was so eager that she practically pushed you out of the way, and you stumbled into someone, your drink nearly toppling over as you lost your balance but a firm hand instinctively grabbing your arm steadied you.
ââschuldigung,â you muttered, holding your grip on his arm tight to keep your balance.
âitâs okay, sweetheart," the man replied and you instantly recognize the british accent that somehow made your heart flutter. âare you okay?â
the man turned to face you and with the light now hitting in your direction, you were able to see his face. he was handsome, not very tall but still towering over you despite you standing in nine centimeter stilettos. he had a kind smile on his face and your eyes fell on his lips⊠he had nice ones. big ones that were most likely the source for very passionate kisses, and smooth ones that indicated the man in front of her knew what vaseline was.
yeah, he was definitely handsome and your type. his skin was a warm shade of brown, a few shades lighter than yours and his eyes had a magnificent color of dark brown, noticeable without the sun or light directly shining against it. his hair was a gorgeous color of mahogany brown braided into natural locks that were tied up in a bun and his features were so perfectly chiseled (like a glass cutting jaw) and fitting that it gave him a nearly royal aura. it would not surprise you if this man turned out to be a duke or from some royal family.
âyeah, iâm fine. sorry again,â you apologized and disappeared into the crowd again. you made your way to your reserved table where you found gwendolyn sitting at, bored expression resting on her face as she sipped her drink. it was truly a mystery to you as to why gwendolyn had even accepted biancaâs invitation if she had planned to be grumpy and judgy of everything.
a small smile appeared on your face when you saw bianca dance with two other girls, having the time of her life if the mischievous glint and smile on her face were any indicator. it was heart-warming to see her be so carefree, happy and excited for her wedding tomorrow. if your planned life was going down the drain, at least you would make sure that bianca stayed happy.
begrudgingly, you sat down next to gwendolyn. she mustered you for a few seconds before shaking her head amusingly.
âwhatâs so amusing?â you ask her, the words coming out a bit harsher than actually necessary.
ânothing,â she replied, the fake smile still on her lips. âjust observing. you almost made quite the mess, soleila,â gwendolyn berated you, referring to your earlier incident.
âluckily nothing happened,â you replied in the same tone as your eyes scanned the area for the handsome man you had bumped into. you found him sitting at a table with a few other men and some girls, who made it very obvious that they wanted him to notice them.
usually, you would firstly feel guilty about eyeing other men before reminding yourself that you were actually single and there was no harm in letting your eyes linger on attractive guys. sure, the reminder of it stung a bit but so did the feeling of guilt, especially when your ex-fiance never had a problem with eyeing other woman while being with you. of course, you were still heartbroken over lennart leaving you but the past days had made you realize that your heart wasnât broken over lennart. it was rather the relationship and all the future plans you had made that had you cry and ache.
sure, your relationship hadnât been perfect but which couple ever was? yet you had loved each other and you had been sure that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with him. that was why him leaving you at the altar had been so humiliating. if he had had doubts over your relationship, why had he even bothered to propose? and why had he waited till your father had walked you down the aisle for him to get cold feet and break up with you? as if he hadnât even considered how his acts could make her feel.
you pushed the thoughts of lennart back into the back of your mind and put your attention on your miserable conversation with gwendolyn again.
âyou know, i sometimes worry about the company bianca keeps around,â gwendolyn admitted and took a sip of her drink again as you waited for her to elaborate. âitâs like all her friends are just fame-hungry girls who jump at the chance of a bit of fame. i mean you saw the way they freaked out over travis scott.â
âiâm sorry?â you managed to say, your mind still trying to comprehend and digest what gwendolyn just alluded to.
âi mean, surely you must get what i mean. theyâre willing to do anything for connections. believe me, i know enough of those kind of women. they have no respect for themselves and are willing to do anything,â she continued. âitâs just such a shame that those are the friends my cousinâs fiance chose as her bridesmaid. it makes me wonder about bianca.â
it seemed like her words had sparked a bright flame of anger and rage inside you and that fire was practically begging to be released. âare you suggesting that bianca whored herself out to sean in order to marry him? and that her friends since childhood are attention whores?â
it was official, bianca would get married without a cousin-in-law because at this rate you will have killed gwendolyn before the wedding arrives.
âyou think so?â you sassed back. âiâm sorry that youâve got such a wrong image of me because last i checked, ranting drunkenly on social media about how men are trash is not very graceful. no, i think thatâs the behavior of the attention sluts you just described mine and biancaâs friends as. whores, who will do anything for fame, right?â
you quickly downed the rest of your drink and placed it back on the table forcefully.
it had been one thing to insult bianca and literally allude that bianca had whored herself out to sean. it wouldnât have enraged you as much since you were so used to those comments from gwendolyn whenever you had the misfortune of being in the same place as her. but judge their friends for simply letting loose and being excited over stars they would probably never see again, berate and insult them over simply having fun and being human â that had crossed a line and enraged you so much you were about to slap gwendolyn. if it werenât for the fact that you had promised bianca not to cause a scene.
but you were determined to show that stuck-up bitch that not even in a million years, were you two alike.

( lewisâ pov )
lewis was genuinely bored. and maybe he was not as hated by the world as he believed watching all those stars that came out to support him. but boredom was definitely at the front of his mind.
after getting a podium for second place again, miles had suggested going to a club to let loose and to be honest, lewis had been dying for a distraction from f1 so he had instantly agreed. his friends had waited for him to finish his interviews and then they had all hit the club. they hadnât even had time to truly arrive and take everything in when a group of women had joined them instantly. and who was he to deny them the pleasure of getting to know him?
however that had been two hours ago and now he was just bored. especially because the attraction of these women to him was as fake as the lashes they were wearing.
âyou were so good during the race,â the woman to his right cooed seductively, placing her right hand on his shoulder. âyou should have been the winner.â
of course he should have but the fia was still looking for any reason to punish him after he had called them out publicly.
âyou were so hot in that car,â another one purred in a similar tone. they had joined his friends together and after he had seen them wear the same shirt, he was sure they belonged to the same group.
âthank you, sweeties,â lewis replied followed by a breathy laugh.
his mind trailed back to the woman that had bumped into him earlier. even though their interaction had been short, she had still made a lasting impression on him. most likely because she hadnât instantly screamed or fainted at the sight of him (not that there was any problem with that). but it had been refreshing to not be swarmed by demands of pictures.
as his eyes trailed over the room, they fell on said mystery woman again. she was standing at the bar, with her back to the counter and one hand holding onto it as she looked around the room. her legs were crossed as her pink stilettos glistened under the club lights matching her low-cut pink cocktail dress. lewis always appreciated a good sense of fashion whenever he saw it.
she was holding a cocktail glass, idly swirling the drink as her gaze tracked the crowd. a playful smile curved her lipsâsharp and intent, like a predator watching out for its next prey. she wasnât the weary, withdrawn woman whoâd bumped into him earlier; this version of her was awake, hunting. and lewis liked her like this.
he kept his eyes on her for another moment till hers finally landed on him and like a marionette being held together by strings, he felt himself being pulled towards her with an undeniable attraction while her lips curled into a teasing smirk.
and damn, was it sexy on her.
he didnât even excuse himself when he rose from his seat and made his way over to the bar. with the lights kind of low in the club, the closer he got the more he could truly see her face⊠and she was definitely the most gorgeous woman in the entire room. a head full of the smoothest brown curls landed on her shoulder, the softest kind of brown doe eyes were framed by a pair of long, curled lashes rounded up by big pink lips with just the right amount of lipgloss.
lewis wasnât sure whether it was a figment of his imagination but he could have sworn on the british crown that her eyes lit up when she saw him walk towards her. as if he was saving her from something, probably boredom. and what kind of gentleman would he be if he wasnât ready to save a lady in distress?
he positioned himself next to her smoothly and ordered an old-fashioned bourbon before turning to her.
âwe meet again.â
she smirked. innerly lewis cursed himself, that line certainly wasnât his best but it got her attention.
âit seems we do,â the beautiful woman in front of him replied and took a sip of her champagne. âalthough, in better circumstances this time.â
his lips mirrored her smirk. even though she had been the one to check him out from afar, he found her mask of unbotheredness amusing. especially because her eyes were still twinkling. time to pull out the charm.
âso, what brings you to vegas this weekend?â
âmy best friend,â she pointed at a woman in a white tee and mini skirt, with an additional pink sash. âis getting married tomorrow and iâm the maid of honor. why are you in vegas?â
âi had a work event here and we decided to hit the club afterwards.â
she turned and faced him properly this time. âwhat kind of work event brings you to vegas?â
lewisâ expression changed to surprise. âyou donât know who i am?â he asked her, genuinely shocked. it had been a very long time since he had talked to someone who did not know who he was.
âwell, youâre certainly not michael jackson,â she retorted back, an eyebrow raised. as lewis examined her face he understood that she truly had no idea who he was. or maybe she had seen his face somewhere (you couldnât have gone your entire life and be in the vip section of this club without ever having seen him) but she did not know who exactly lewis hamilton was. his face seemed to not raise any bells in her mind.
âunfortunately, iâm not,â he joked, twirling his drink. âitâs complicated.â
she rolled her eyes though the small smile on her face made it clear she was not angry. âyou could be a stripper on magic mike and i wouldnât care. weâre in vegas right now. i promise, i wonât be judgy,â she told him. âi literally learned how to give a lap dance today.â
lewis had to bite the inside of his cheek to stop himself from laughing but his face indicated his amusement clearly. âunfortunately iâm not a stripper. would have made my life so much easier in some aspects. but if you ever need someone to rate your stripper qualities, iâm a willing judge.â
âmaybe,â she replied with a flirty undertone. âi could be convinced to a little private show.â he had to give it to her, she was just as bold and confident as he had expected her to be and yet she still managed to throw him off-guard with some of her responses.
âso what kind of work allows their employees to go partying in vegas?â
âthe kind of work that is the reason why half the stars in this club are here. and why the roads are blocked till monday.â
recognition finally lit up in her eyes. âwait⊠i think my best friend mentioned some event taking place this same week which is why it was so difficult to get into this club. some car event⊠a race. youâre a driver.â
he smirked, leaning in and whispered into her ear. ânot just any driver. a formula one driver.â
âis that like the champions league of driving?â she teased and lewis found himself drawn in by her smile like a moth to light. she had him completely wrapped around her finger without him actually even noticing when she had started spinning.
âitâs the best of the best,â he replied confidently. âand iâm currently the record holder for most race wins.â
she took a step closer, and lewis was instantly engulfed in a cloud of vanilla and peach, her scent wrapping around him completely. the scent had been faint but now that they were close enough that their forearms were touching, the mixture of vanilla and peaches was practically bemusing his mind. she reached out her hand. âwhat an honor to be in the company of the record formula one driver. iâm soleila.â
soleila, a fitting name for someone whose smile literally reminded him of sunlight.
lewis shook her hand delicately, the touch of her fingers sending a kind of electricity through his body that reminded him of the high, racing gave him. âlewis. itâs a pleasure to meet you.â
âso, lewis,â soleila began. âdid you win the race this weekend?â
he laughed. âno. second place only for me this time.â
âi hope youâre not losing your touch. if youâre the record holder, doesnât that mean youâre leading the championship?â
innerly, lewis winced at the reminder that he was now only second in the championship after max verstappen. their accident had given the dutch driver the lead and his second place today, while max had won, had not helped reduce the gap. if anything, it was starting to become bigger and with only three races remaining, if he wasnât lewis hamilton, he would have given up already.
but right now, with a beautiful woman like soleila in front of him, it was certainly not the time to think about his rival.
âunfortunately, not at the moment. iâm currently second in the championship but the record is mine.â
âso youâre the underdog in this championship fight?â soleila asked.
âkinda. iâve got to win my lead back.â and he was currently the most hated person in f1, all because of an emotional rant (which he was very much entitled to after the crash) and for calling out the whole bullshit and racism that existed in f1.
she placed her hand on his, the difference in their hand sizes unmistakably. âi hope you manage to catch up. iâm rooting for you now.â
soleila smiles again as she winks the bartender over and orders a new drink. she seemed to be finished with champagne as she ordered a cosmopolitan. the moment she gave up the order, she picked up eye contact with lewis again.
âiâll not disappoint,â he replied, followed by a teasing wink.
she brushed her curls back and leaned in again. there was no denying of their chemistry to the point even a blind man would be able to see. they had drowned out all the noise and people surrounding them, caught in their own world. they stared into each other's eyes, each matching the playfulness and attraction they felt towards the other.
lewis had trouble connecting the flirty, playful woman in front of him to the dull and exhausted woman he had bumped into. they were literally the same person but it felt like two different people. the soleila who had bumped into him had seemed to disappear right on the spot where as the soleila in front of him was thoroughly enjoying himself and clearly just as hooked on him as he was. he was curious to know what could incite such a change in the span of an hour.
âsoo⊠why did you seem so miserable when you bumped into me?â he began. âi had the feeling you were forcing yourself to be here. and that woman next to you clearly did not make it better.â
there was a pause and lewis worried at first, afraid of having ruined it all but then soleila snorted and lewis found that even a snort coming from soleila sounded adorable and in a weird way, surprisingly sexy.
âiâll admit it took me some time to warm up,â she responded. she thanked the bartender when he sat her cocktail down in front of her and turned to him again. âwere you watching me, lewis?â
âitâs impossible not to notice a beautiful woman like you,â lewis replied with a playful laugh. âbut genuinely, what made you so miserable in the beginning?â
âflattery will get you nowhere,â soleila retorted, amused. âiâm going through some tough times at the moment. since you didnât recognize me, you probably have no idea. but itâs been some difficult weeks.â
âoh, so youâre also famous?â
she laughed. âarenât you humble?â she questioned rhetorically before her face darkened a bit again. it wasnât enough to take away her carefree expression but it was clear that whatever had happened, had stung and broken something.
lewis just hoped it hadnât been her heart.
âwell, if you really want to know⊠my fiance, sorry ex-fiance, left me at the altar two weeks ago.â
out of every possible reason, that scenario would never have crossed lewisâ mind, so it wasnât surprising that he found himself choking on his own saliva. his expression shifted to incredulity as he looked at the literal heavenly woman in front of him again.
âyouâre joking.â
soleila pursed her lips and took a sip of her drink. âi wish i was. three and a half years gone with a few words.â
âshit,â he muttered and soleila nodded, averting her eyes from him from the first time in their conversation. lewis could only imagine how tired she must have been from all the fake pity and embarrassment.
âyup. he left me at the altar just before it was time to say the vows,â she replied, her voice taking on a cheery fake smile.
âheâs clearly an idiot. personally, iâd say itâs his loss.â
she took a sip again and chuckled. âfunnily, you seem to be the only one to think so next to my best friend.â
lewis groaned. âdonât tell me they actually blamed you.â
soleila shrugged. âokay, i wonât tell you then.â
âsorry, figure of speech. go on please.â
âwell, like i said except my best friend whose bachelorette is this, everyone, even my own family, started asking whether i had done something before the wedding. that i must have said something that could have given him cold feet. as if i wasnât the one who had just been humiliated. it was terrible.â she took a big sip of her drink.
âwow. firstly, what an asshole,â lewis cursed, which made soleila chuckle again. âand secondly, no offense to your family but they are cunts if they put the blame on you.â
soleila let out a laugh. not sweet like the little giggles and chuckles she had made from time to time but an actual laugh, genuine and real.
ânone taken. you should have heard my aunts. so even a husband, dat girl no fit keep.â she imitated in an annoyingly high-pitched voice.
âactually, i take the no offense part back. full offense to your family.â
she laughed again and raised her glass a little. âto cunty families.â
âto cunty and judgy families. letâs hope theyâll realize quickly that itâs his loss,â he announced.
âone can always hope,â she replied and brought her drink to her lips. lewisâ eyes flickered momentarily to her lips.
she had pulled him in so much that he was very willing to do anything just to kiss her once.
soleila smirked. âyou know,â she began seductively, âi expected you to have already made a move on me by now.â
âyeah?â lewis retorted. âwhat did you expect me to do?â
she twirled a strand of curly hair. âi donât know. maybe something more spicy, you know. like placing your hand on my thigh or whispering into my ear, all the filthy things you planned on doing to me tonight.â
damn. lewis had to give it to her, she was bold. it fit perfectly with her confidence and it was absolutely turning him on.
âi mean⊠i literally said, iâd be willing to try out my new lap dance skills on you,â soleila continued before smiling at him innocently. âtoo much?â
this woman would be the death of him. but at least heâd die a happy man.
ânope. just right.â
âĄđá°
( soleilaâs pov )
you were on fire.
flirting with lewis had woken up a flame in you that lennart had extinguished when you had started dating. a burning sensation capable of burning down everything around you simply with the touch of your finger.
you knew you had him hooked, practically eating out of your hand and lewis wasnât making any effort to hide how much he was attracted to you.
innerly, you had to admit that it felt good to be wanted again. sure, you had loved lennart but after lennart and you had started dating, gone was the effort. he had put the effort to win you over but once he had succeeded, he had treated you like an afterthought. once the trophy had been won, you had become a chore he tolerated. he hadnât made you feel wanted again.
and the saddest thing was that you knew he was capable of it, after all thatâs how he had won you over, but he simply did not want to. lennart hadnât expected you to ever leave him and unfortunately, he had been right. she had allowed him to take her for granted and she had not left.
it had been so long that you had felt wanted that you were basking in lewisâ attention, drowning in it nearly.
you smiled at lewis coyly. âis that all?â
he shook his head amusingly before moving closer, placing his hand softly on your thigh.
âbelieve me darling, weâre far from finished,â he murmured, leaning in close to your ear.
âgood,â you told him, trying your hardest to not seem affected by his words. but alone âdarlingâ with his british accent was electrifying you. âi would hate to waste the potential of this night.â
âyou have high expectations,â smirked lewis.
you finished the rest of your drink and smiled at him again. âyou seem like someone who will know what to do with my body.â
he laughed though you could practically see his ego rising. if it wasnât already big enough.
âyouâre dangerous to a manâs ego, darling.â
âam i wrong?â you retorted.
lewis chuckled. âabsolutely not. iâll show you domination tonight.â
âlooking forward to it,â you breathed out while his hand moved a bit further up your thigh. anymore and his hand would be underneath your dress and shockingly you were not minding.
not even the thought of lennart and how quick you were moving on could stop you from going home with this man. not when he had heat rushing throughout your entire body with a simple touch.
and lennart would never cross your mind when your thoughts were all occupied just imagining all the things lewis could probably do with his hands.
so strong and yet elegant, long fingers you already imagined trailing over your body, ethereal tattoos ornamenting his hands.
âcan you watch my drink for me for one second,â you found yourself asking lewis. âi just need to go to the bathroom for one second and iâll be back.â
you did not wait for his response and instantly headed for the bathroom which luckily were free. you locked yourself into a toilet cabin and pulled out your phone while taking a deep breath.
INSTAGRAM
you took a deep breath as you exited the cabin and stopped in front of the mirrors to reapply some lip gloss. you bit your lip as you tried out your flirtiest expression before you left the bathroom.
lewis instantly spotted you the moment you were out and it was almost fairytale-like, the way his face instantly lit up. you slipped back onto your bar stool and intertwined your hand with lewis again.
âsorry for the interruption.â
âno problem, my lady.â
âare you up to get some fresh air?â you ask lewis with a low seductive tone and small smile.
he mirrored her smile with a warm one. âlead the way, darling.â
you were so getting laid tonight.
âĄđá°
(lewisâ pov)
soleilaâs arm was wrapped around his waist while his rested around her shoulder, drawing her close, as they walked around the famous las vegas strip. loud music roared from everywhere, twenty-four hour stores were still booming with customers and tourists flooding in and out of renowned casinos. billboards were put up on nearly every building, with some even replaying moments of the earlier formula one race. lewis saw one showing his overtake on norris to take p2 but his attention switched quickly when soleila pointed out a street musician doing some acrobatic moves.
âis this your first time in vegas?â soleila asked curiously.
âi told you iâm a formula 1 driver. i travel all over the world for races.â
âwell, i donât want formula one so how do i know how it works,â she reminded him. âfor all i know, the race locations could change every season.â
lewis let out a laugh. âiâve been in vegas but itâs not my favorite circuit. and vegas is definitely not my favorite party scene.â
âi can relate to that, the party scene bit at least.â
âso what do you actually do?â he found himself asking her.
âiâm an entrepreneur in a way.â she told him.
âhow come iâve never heard of you?â replied lewis.
soleila whacked his arm lightly. âwhatâs that supposed to mean?â she exclaimed, faking an offended expression before laughing. âi may not be famous but iâm fairly known in some branches.â
âwhich branches?â
âcooking, baking, cuisine⊠all of that. iâm sure youâve been in paris. have you ever come across soleil pastries?â
lewis nodded. âthe name rings something but i know in london, we were at this rooftop bistro, soleil garden. donât tell me those are your restaurants?â
she smiled sheepishly. âbingo.â
âwait⊠so you own maison soleil?â
ânot completely. thatâs why i said entrepreneur in a way. my best friend handles all the business stuff with shares and the board so i can focus on creating new recipes, cooking or improving baking recipes,â she explained. âso if weâre actually precise, iâm a professional cook and baker.â
âwow,â lewis let out. âthatâs a first.â
she glimpsed up at him, amused. âam i the first cook you ever met?â
he shook his head. ânot the first but certainly the most unexpected. now iâm curious, what made you start?â
âi was baking a lot in university and had a little cake business aside of classes. and i worked a part time job at a restaurant,â she began. âbianca was the one who then encouraged me to use these skills and open a business.â
a look of nostalgia set upon soleilaâs face. âi switched my courses, started culinary school and we started a catering business. and then it blew up on social media, i mean i had a good following due to my recipes and dishes but with the catering, people started demanding actual locations which made us think about it.â
âand it just worked out?â
she laughed. âno, it was hard but we didnât give up. it was a tough time to get a loan from a bank but once we did, everything started working out and we founded maison soleil.â
he looked at her with an amazed expression. âdamn. thatâs amazing. how many restaurants have you opened now?â
âweâve opened restaurants all over europe but mostly in west europe but weâve got a few locations in canada and the us. youâll also find soleil pastries nearly everywhere. and at the moment, weâre dabbing into the rooftop business. weâve opened âsoleil gardenâ in london, paris, frankfurt and others.â
ânow i kind of feel bad for not having recognized you,â admitted lewis playfully.
she smirked with that additional flirty allure. âright? you definitely should have. but itâs okay, iâm a very forgiving person.â
lewis laughed again, this time throwing his head back while soleila grinned. it had been a long time since a woman he had been attracted to had been able to make him laugh so much.
there was just something so different and at the same time refreshing about soleilaâs easygoing and sarcastic nature.
if lewis were interested in a relationship at the moment, soleila would have definitely been his number one candidate. it was nearly a shame, he wasnât.
didnât mean though that he would say no to a night with her.
they came to a halt and lewis placed his arms around soleilaâs waist, pulling her close so both could face each other.
âso i should count myself lucky?â he whispered, his right hand resting on soleilaâs cheek as he cupped her face. his eyes trailed to her full lips, for which his whole body was ready to die for just to get a taste.
she smirked. âvery lucky, believe me.â she glanced to the side for a second before looking at him again. âjust to be sure, iâm not stealing you from any person, girlfriend or something? any other potential woman?â
he chuckled. âyouâre the only woman i want to spend the night with, darling.â
âflattering,â she breathed out, her arms wrapping around the back of his neck. she parted her legs slightly so that one of lewisâ positioned itself between hers, keeping her additionally steady.
standing so close to her, lewis took the time to truly check her out again. soleilaâs beauty was mesmerizing and rendered him practically speechless as he took in how beautiful she was. long legs, soft smile, a very noticeable ass (because lewis at the end of the day was an ass-man), big lips (he yearned to finally kiss) â gorgeous could not describe her, or better yet, no word in the english vocabulary could put into words just how ethereal the woman in front of him was.
âare we just going to dance around this?â soleila asked him while sweeping her thumb over the small stubble of hair he had on his jaw. lewis took a sharp breath.
âtell me what you want, darling,â lewis replied in a raspy tone.
âi want you to kiss me,â she whispered, already leaning half in not caring who could see them. âi want to feel the touch of your lips on me.â
âyour wish is my command.â

( soleilaâs pov )
it felt like eternity to you when lewisâ finally closed the gap between your lips.
it was a soft kiss in the beginning, a simple peck on the lips. both hands cupped your cheeks, his thumbs brushing gently over your skin as his lips hovered over yours. his thumb brushed over your lips before he kissed you again, this time with more force. more passion behind it and with the means to render you senseless.
a thousand different emotions surged through your nervous system at once, until your brain seemed to have only one option: shut down. and it did. lewis tugged gently at your upper lip, then your lower, before his tongue asked for entrance and you parted for him without hesitation. bolts of electricity were rushing through your veins like adrenaline, setting your whole body on fire and allowing heat to build up inside you. he was kissing you fiercely, with an amount of passion that you instantly understood that he needed this kiss just as much as you. his lips had yearned all these hours for a simple taste and now that they had it, they were savouring every single second of it.
a feeling lennart hadnât given you in months.
it was kind of sad how a man you had simply met at a club was bringing back the fire in you that had been extinguished. now you were really glad, bianca had insisted on you coming to vegas.
he deepened the kiss even further, his tongue tangling with yours, and you were able to taste the whiskey he had nursed at the bar mixed with the faint aftertaste of champagne. and it drove you crazy with how addicted you were to it. one hand travelled down to the back of your throat while the other still rested on your cheek and you tugged him closer by tightening the grip of your arms around his neck.
your lips departed and as you tried to regain control of your breathing, lewis licked the remains of smudged lipgloss from his lips.
âsatisfied?â he questioned, his thumb brushing gently over your lips.
not fully trusting yourself to actually form coherent sentences, you simply nodded.
âi want words, darling,â he replied as he twirled a strand of your curly hair.
âperfect,â you breathed out. âi want more.â
without another word, he leaned in again and captured your lips. this time he immediately put all the passion and fierceness into it and a low moan escaped your lips. he smirked before tugging on your bottom lip and you instantly opened for him again, his tongue sweeping in directly. you were close enough you could feel his heartbeat and it gave you a feeling of satisfaction to know that his heart was beating just as frantic as yours.
your tongue explored his mouth with such a feralness even you hadnât known you had and one of your arms loosened around his neck and trailed to his hair. you pull it slightly, desperate for more of him, which earns you a low, raspy moan from lewis. you are so lost in the kiss you donât even notice all the people who pass around you or the commotion beside you. youâre still aware of the fact you are in the middle of the strip in public or else you would have dropped into his a long time ago but you donât care about who might potentially see you right now.
you were able to feel his erection, feel how much you were turning him on which in return only intensified the small puddle of heat that had begun to build between your legs.
aware that if you went any further, you were not sure you could restrain yourself, you broke the kiss even though every cell in your body demanded to feel his touch, his lips on you again.
âweâre in public,â you reminded him. âwe donât need to be arrested for public indecency.â
âdonât tell me the thrill of being caught isnât exciting you.â
he was spot on about that, and you did have a little kink for having sex in places you could easily be caught in but you werenât about to admit that.
âweâre in the middle of the strip with thousands of people around us. as much as iâd love to continue this, i donât fancy making the gossip rags again,â you reasoned.
he hummed though it was clear he had no care in the world. and innerly, you also did not care however one of you had to be the voice of reason.
âi donât think people care much here if they are anything to go by,â he pointed out a couple a few meters away from them that were practically dry humping against a lamp post.
âshouldnât you be more concerned about whether paparazzis could catch you?â
âright now, they are the least of my concerns,â he simply replied.
you let go of his neck and grabbed your small pink clutch. lewisâ arm instantly slipped around your waist again, as if he couldnât bear not being close to you, have your skin touch his. and if you were honest, neither could you.
you stared into his eyes, losing yourself in the soft color of honey brown his eyes were colored in. you probably could have spend the remainder of the night staring into these eyes if your phone hadnât suddenly begun to ring. you unlocked it and saw that bianca had sent you countless messages, asking where you were and whether you had finally got laid.
you answer on the third ring and immediately, the loud volume of club music boomed through your phone.
âsol? where are you? itâs time for the final toasts,â she yelled into the phone and you swiftly removed it from your ear before it could pierce your eardrum.
âbee, iâm not at the club anymore,â you replied, trying your hardest to ignore lewisâ eyes on you.
she let out another screech. âoh my god! did you get laid? are you about to get laid?â
âwell, definitely not in public. and not with you screeching through my phone,â you replied.
âwell, like i said, you have all my blessings. but please sol, last celebratory drinks? and then youâre free to get that dick,â she insisted and you found yourself sighing, knowing that she had you.
it had always been difficult for you to say no to bianca. especially drunk.
âfine. iâm on my way. go regroup the others already.â
âlove you sol. i promise afterwards, you can get your three orgasms,â she said cheerfully before hanging up.
you sigh loudly. âyou up for one last round of drinks?â you lean in close, your lips brushing against his right earlobe. âafter that, iâm yours.â
âbelieve me, youâll get those three orgasms, darling.â
âĄđá°
the club was still full with people when you and lewis made it back though you noticed that there were remarkably less celebrities. which in a way was understandable as it was nearly one in the morning.
the bouncer instantly let you in with lewis only flashing him a smile and you scanned the club for your girlfriends. fortunately for you, with a few (or many) drinks in them, they had become quite the rowdy crowd so it did not take you long to find bianca and the other bridesmaids.
âsoleila, weâre here,â luise was the first one to see you and waved you over enthusiastically. you sent lewis an apologetic look before making your way over to your friends, glad to see that gwendolyn was nowhere near.
bianca turned around and pulled you into a hug. from her carefree expression and the way her eyes were glistening, you knew she was way past tipsy.
âsol!â she exclaimed and hugged you tightly. âyou were the last one missing.â
âsorry if iâm late.â
âyouâre here, thatâs the most important thing.â she handed you a shot. the clear liquor made clear these were vodka shots.
âgirls, this was the best bachelorette i could have ever imagined. luise, thank you again for organizing all this. i knew i could always count on you,â she wiped away a lone tear that rolled down her cheek before intertwining your hands. âand sol, thank you for being the best maid of honor a girl could have. i love you girls.â
âwe love you too, bianca,â you all said simultaneously and raised your shots.
âto bianca because she finally got the ring. letâs all pray itâs her first and last one.â
you all clinked your glasses and instantly downed your shots. you had always loved doing shots and enjoyed the burning feeling of strong alcohol in your throat.
after that, you all went your own ways leaving bianca and you behind.
your eyes were already looking for lewis and a smile grew on your face as you found him waiting patiently for you with your clutch in hand.
âgirl, go get your man,â bianca encouraged you. âand he better worship that gorgeous body of yours!â
you winked at her and laughed. âa man like him, i donât doubt that.â
she kissed your cheek again before leaving with the other girls and you, without even realizing, your feet were already walking towards him and in the space of a few seconds, you were beside him.
âlewis,â you greeted him, leaning over his shoulder.
just like before, alone his touch had you frantic already, electricity rushing through every cell in your organism and the need to touch him was noted just as necessary in your mind as the need for water.
âdarling,â he replied, turning around.
âready to have me scream your name?â
he chuckled and you were not sure whether it was just your imagination but you could swear that his eyes had darkened at the thought.
âi was born ready.â
you wrapped your hands around his neck again and closed the gap between you two. the feeling of pure euphoria explodes in your chest the moment your lips connect and you close your eyes to savor the touch of his lips, the way he tastes like a mix of tequila and whiskey.
this time you didnât have to worry about somebody seeing you because you were inside the club, with the lights low and everyone around you either too drunk to notice what was going on or simply didnât give a fuck because they were also celebrities who didnât want their business aired out.
which allowed you to be bolder, more free and wilder. not the tame version of you he had gotten on the strip outside when you two had kissed.
lewisâ hands trailed down to your waist and in one movement, he pulled you close into his lap as he deepened the kiss. your lips departed without a fight and his tongue instantly began to explore your mouth, tangling with yours.
you were able to sense that lewis was also more frantic, almost feral in the way he was kissing you. his mouth against yours with a ferocity you hadnât felt before and had you realize how much he had held back himself on the strip outside.
this man would be your demise and if you were honest, you were sad that this was only going to be for one night.
but that also meant that you had to make the most of this night because who knows when you might see him again? and you only live once.
lewis loosened the grip on your waist as one hand traveled down even further and rested on your thigh, just slightly under the end of your dress. with his thumb he rubbed small circles on your exposed skin and you were nearly ashamed to admit how wet his touch had you.
you threw your head back in pleasure, barely able to keep down your moan when lewis began placing wet, delicate kisses on the side of your neck. you shivered when his fingers were grazing the hem of your dress and out of reflex, your legs pressed together and lewis stopped his attack on your neck.
âdo you want this?â he whispered against your lips, his right hand actively teasing your thigh.
âshow me what youâve got,â you whispered back before your eyes fell on a secluded spot close to the bathrooms. âbut not here.â
grabbing his arm, you dragged him along through the crowd till you arrived at the deserted area in the club right around the corner to the bathrooms. there was a small counter, probably if people had any drinks with them but in your case, it served as a wall for lewis to push you against. with your back against the counter, you wrapped your arms around his neck, connecting your lips again. you dragged your right hand through his locs and tug at them lightly which emitted a low, raspy groan from lewis.
this time you were a hundred percent sure his eyes turned darker, a feral expression set onto his place as he lifted you up and placed you on the counter. he spread your legs apart gently, his hands resting on them lightly. one warm hand tugged at the edge of your cocktail dress and you looked at him expectantly.
âcan i touch you, darling?â
you nodded. âyes, please,â you replied and rivers of pleasure crashed down upon you when he finally slipped his hand underneath your dress. you were lucky you were in a secluded spot, hidden behind a darker corner that shielded you from other people and with the music being loud, you did not have to stifle your moans.
lewis was teasing you mercilessly, playing with your skin, edging his fingers close to the core before retreating and it was successfully driving you crazy. his thumb traced the outline of your underwear, which was already pretty dampened, before he finally dipped one finger under the elastic and you couldnât help but let out a low groan.
âlewis,â you whimpered when you felt his fingers so close to your clit before he moved them up again.
âwhat do you want, darling?â he asked you in a raspy voice, placing sloppy kisses on the side of your throat before sucking softly at the skin.
âtouch me,â you breathed out. âplease.â if you could see yourself at the moment, you would have been pretty ashamed at how easily this man had you ready to beg for him. because not even lennart had ever made you feel so desperate.
âiâve got you, gorgeous,â he said softly and slipped another finger underneath your underwear. your excitement was slowly turning into torture, the anticipation of it making it harder for you to breathe. jolts of pleasure rushed through you whenever lewis came close to your clit, to where you actually wanted his fingers and you gasped loudly when he ran a finger through your slit.
âyouâre all wet for me, darling,â lewis applauded you as he let your wetness coat his fingers. âso desperate.â
he kissed you passionately again and your hands trailed down to the hem of his shirt. you pulled it a few centimeters higher and let your fingers trace down the lines of his defined abs.
âis this what you want?â lewis whispered in your ear after breaking the kiss, leaving you a hot, whimpering mess. and from the smug look in his eyes, you realized he hadnât even started yet.
fed up and burning up with the need to have him put his fingers finally where you wanted them, you replied, âfigure it out, honey.â
âgladly.â
without another word, he pushed a finger into you, which emitted a deeply embarrassing pornographic moan from you, before adding in another when he was met with barely any resistance. your hips practically arched on instinct when lewis curled his fingers and hit that specific spot that probably hadnât been touched in nearly a year.
slowly he settled into a comfortable rhythm, pumping his fingers in and out again, stretching you, and each time trying to push a bit deeper. to hit that electrical filled spot just a bit harder. and with each time he did, you felt yourself being pushed to the edge a bit more.
âfuck,â you let out, followed by a moan when his thumb began rubbing small circles on your clit and the building pressure in your stomach became more heavy.
âyouâre taking my fingers so well, darling,â he praised you and innerly, you hated that your parents had made you an academic validation child because now that resulted in you getting turned on by any kind of praise you ever received.
and lewis praising you and calling you darling would be your downfall.
âyouâre welcome,â you managed to say and whimpered when lewis began to kiss his way up your collarbone.
with the way, you had been deprived of such pleasure and heat rushing through your body, you were pretty much being overstimulated.
âare you close?â he asked and you simply nodded, not able to form any coherent words.
his lips curved up into a smirk as he began to quicken the pace while your legs started to tremble from the sheer amount of pleasure exploding in you while you neared your orgasm. your inner walls were already clenching around his fingers which was always an indicator that you were seconds away from going over that edge.
âlet go, darling. be a good girl and come for me,â he whispered softly against your neck and as you had predicted, you came undone. like hot electricity, your orgasm crashed through you as pleasure practically burned over your neural system.
your body was completely shaking as you arched your back while a deep, filthy moan escaped your lips as lewis fucked you through your high. his fingers were still pumping in and out of you but his rhythm had slowed down, your hips rocking gently.
âach du heilige,â you exhaled, falling back into german since your brain was still too overwhelmed to remember to speak english. you were heavily panting, your legs still trembling as heat pooled low in your belly while the last highs of euphoria faded away. for a second, all you could do was cling to the edge of the counter and close your eyes as you tried to control your breathing, trying to remember how to move.
your throat felt raw and your body still pulsed from the way his fingers had been moving inside you.
you swallowed, lips parting again as if you could speak a full sentence or at least pretend you were in control. but all that came was another shaky breathâand a small, moan that sounded nothing like the cool, teasing woman youâd been a few minutes ago.
lewisâ fingers were glistening under the neon lights of the club, coated with your arousal when he finally pulled them out of you. his eyes were watching you with a mischievous glint, as if he was proud of the way he had made you lose your composure and cracked your outer shell. smirking, he began to lick his fingers clean and you swallowed, lips parting again softly as you watched his tongue wrap around his fingers hungrily.
âi guess thatâs orgasm number one,â lewis commented, referring to your earlier call with bianca.
heat began to pool in your lower stomach again as your eyes fell on his hands, particularly his fingers. how strong they looked and yet how gentle they had felt against your skin, so long and perfectly made for you⊠and you definitely needed more of him.
âdefinitely a good start to the night,â you replied, sitting up straight.
âand thereâs more to come,â lewis added and pulled you closer. he lifted your chin up with his finger, staring directly into your eyes and if you cared, youâd have been ashamed of how desperate and hungry you looked. feral for him.
âthen what are we waiting for? letâs get out of here,â you suggested, intertwining your fingers. âi want orgasm number two.â
âgladly, darling,â lewis said flirtatiously and his lips turned up into his famous trademark smile. âletâs go have some fun.
âĄđá°
it was your stomachâs desperate need to throw up that woke you up the next morning. your eyes opened only begrudgingly and when they did, a pounding headache instantly set in from all the light seeping in at once. your feet were practically on fire and you cursed yourself from wearing your pink stilettos for so long, especially when you had already classed them as âonly three-hoursâ heels.
you let out a quiet groan and turned around where you noticed you were in fact not alone in bed. lewis was sleeping peacefully next to you, his locs loose, a wilted bouquet of flowers next to him along with a bottle of jack danielâs whiskey. you turned on your side again, sweeping the small night table next to you for your phone. scanning the room, you found it lying on the floor, at the corner of the bed and it took a lot of willpower from you, to get up and go get it. it was only when you stood up that you realised you were not wearing your clothes from last night but instead a white bathing gown, probably custody of the hotel as you were sure you had not brought one with you.
your head was throbbing and spinning, dizziness clouded your vision and you were tempted to just go back to bed and spend the night there if it werenât for the fact that biancaâs wedding was today and you were expected. fortunately for you, she had planned for it to be a small ceremony in the afternoon.
you forced your eyes open again and were met with confusion when you found your dress and your bra carefully folded on a chair in the hotel room and realised that you were not even in your room. which meant you had gone back to lewisâ last night. you were starting to get angry at yourself for drinking so much last night and especially for going over your limit, judging by the empty bottle of jack danielâs.
the need to throw up intensified and you were barely able to sprint to the bathroom and reach the toilet before your stomach decided to empty itself completely. one hand held your curls while the other grabbed the back of the toilet as you threw up everything you had in you. you were not sure how much time had passed or how long your head was hanging over the toilet when all of a sudden, your hand was carefully detached from your hair and another pair of hands held up your hair. you did not even have time to say thank you before another wave of nausea hit you and you threw up again.
another ten minutes probably passed before you were finally able to breathe normally again as you let go of the toilet. you fell back on your ass and groaned again, this time loudly.
âgood morning to you,â lewis mumbled, his voice coarse and raw from sleep.
you turned and looked up at him before exhaling loudly. of course, even hungover the man would look like a god damn greek adonis. his loose locs framed his face beautifully, his arms and biceps perfectly defined.
âmorning,â you replied, finally standing up to rinse the taste of vomit from your mouth.
âfancy robe,â he remarked and you noticed that contrary to you, he wasnât wearing any kind of robe but only a pair of sweatpants. what the hell were you two up to last night?
âi feel like a truck ran me over,â you complained as you closed the tap. âmy stomach certainly made me feel that way.â
âi think iâve got aspirin in my bag. and some medicine against nausea,â he offered and you gave him a small smile. it was kind of making you sad that you had to leave this gorgeous man but you were just not ready to jump into another relationship yet.
lewis had barely made it two steps out of the bathroom when he spun around at your shriek, followed by a sharp curse. he rushed back to you, worry written all over his face, and found you staring at your ring finger. a huge gold ring sat there, topped with a cushion-cut diamond and just beneath it, a simple gold band.
you turned around, panic evident in your expression, and asked, âwhat the fuck did we do last night?â
he immediately looked down on his fingers where he found a matching golden ring on his ring finger. âdid we actually get married?â
âi donât know,â you exclaimed, a bit louder than intended but in your defense, you were fully freaking out.
you walked swiftly past him and slumped down on the bed as you tied your curls into a simple bun. this was the last thing you needed to deal with before biancaâs wedding and even less before you saw your parents again. things were still a bit rocky between you and them and you hadnât seen them since the wedding, where bianca had yelled at them before dragging you away from their misplaced tirade.
as you tried to figure out how to deal with this mess, lewisâ sharp inhale and, this time, his curse pulled you out of your thoughts. you looked over and found him frowning at his phone.
âi think we did something really stupid,â he said slowly and handed you his phone. it was a blurry picture of you smiling at him, evidently drunk, as he kissed your hand where the shiny diamond ring sat proudly. your face was not completely recognizable but you were sure that people who knew you, would be able to point out that it was you. you were still trying to find out why he had been frowning at the picture when you suddenly saw the view sign at the top corner where a number of 8,6 million was displayed.
great, he had posted you on instagram where more than eight million people had seen you and your ring. and it did not take a genius to figure out what it meant, especially with the three hearts he had put on the bottom. fortunately he hadnât tagged you which was only a scrap of comfort but at least something.
you swallowed hard, innerly totally freaking out especially because you had no memory of last night. the only clear thing you remembered was leaving the club. you handed him back his phone.
âokay, this can be handled,â you tried to reassure yourself. âif itâs only your insta, maybe you wait two months before a girl on your main again and it will all be forgotten. i mean, youâre an athlete. youâre known for changing bed buddies every night.â
lewis chuckled dryly. âhurts but sadly true.â he continued looking at something on your phone while you finally turned on yours. âwell, i think our problem goes deeper than that.â
you swiftly turned around, confusion in your eyes clear. âwhat do you mean? oh god, what did we do?â
again, he handed you his phone and your face went through panic, confusion, worry and fear as you stared at the picture. there you were, holding hands while an elvis dressed man stood between you with a bible in one hand and your rings in another. you could feel your stomach churning again as you swiped to the next photo and the next one, your panic intensifying with each. photos of you kissing, of lewis putting the golden ring on your finger, of you buying a new pink dress and the two of you in a jewelry shop.
you took a deep breath, trying your best to keep whatever was in your stomach inside.
âthis complicates things a lot but there is no guarantee that weâre actually married,â you tried to reason.
âhow do you know?â lewis questioned instantly.
âas someone who nearly got married, believe me, getting married is a complicated process. firstly, weâre not american citizens so who knows if itâs valid and secondly, there needs to be a marriage license before getting married. and since we most likely got married after midnight, i doubt we could get any issued marriage license at that time,â you explained to him.
âthank god,â he exhaled and you grinned at him, playfully raising up your eyebrows. âitâs nothing against you, darling, i promise. really, youâre gorgeous and any men would be lucky to have you as his wife butââ
âiâm joking. i know what you mean. so we can go back to plan a, i assume?â
he nodded. âyep. i will fully lean into my playboy athlete image and people will have forgotten you in a spot.â
you turned back to your phone where you already had more than fifty missed calls from bianca along with hundreds of texts probably from your girls group chat and your parents.
âdo you actually remember anything from last night?â you asked him, curious about the events from last night.
âonly bits,â he replied, tying his locs back into their usual bun. âi know we left the club and then you were hungry so we stopped to get some food. and you bought a bottle of whiskey because we were dared by some tourist group to do shots.â
flashes of last night were slowly getting back to you. âoh, i remember that. i even won, i think and then i reminded you that you still owed me two orgasms.â
âand i desperately wanted to fuck you but remembered that i didnât have any condoms and neither did you so we turned around to get some. and as we walked, we came across several wedding chapels where people could get marriedââ
you groaned, remembering clearly now how you two had ended married. âand i started complaining about my failed marriage because we were seeing all these newly-weds and then you told me to make new memories concerning weddings. and i teased you about it and you wanted to prove that you were better than my ex-fiance and we went to the jewelry shop where you proposed to me.â
âand then you asked the lady at the jewelry shop where we could get married and she sold us the two rings and told us where to get married. and then you demanded as my wife i give you your two remaining orgasms,â lewis finished your reconstructing.
âthis is a lot,â you commented dryly as you glanced down and remarked you were still wearing the hotel bathrobe. âdo you have any spare clothes you could lend me? i would really like to get rid of this thing.â
âsure. i should have some sweatpants and hoodie that could fit you,â he replied and you nodded. you smiled, grateful for the change of clothes, and left the bedroom to finally change.
you were in the middle of putting on your bra when lewis called out your name again. you quickly pulled his hoodie over your head before joining him in the living room. lewis was dressed too, waiting there with a nervous smile. his expression made your stomach twist as he held a paper in his hand.
âwhat is it?â you asked him, worry beginning to grow.
âyou said that we canât get married if we do not have a marriage license, right?â he questioned nervously, his voice low.
âthatâs usually how it works,â you reaffirmed.
he handed you said paper in his hands. âwould that qualify as a marriage license because if yes, then i believe we actually got married.â
you nearly ripped the paper from him, scanning over the content of it instantly though deep down you had already recognized it.
âscheisse,â you cursed. âi think we actually got married.â

also, i will play very deliberate and loose with the dates of the f1 season and the team pairings. i'm kinda basing it on 2021 (still traumatized) but with sassy 2017! lewis in mind and a mix of the old and new grid. i'm also trying out a new writing style because i will try to write it from reader pov (wish me luck) but fmc will have a name due to her business and job and i'm obsessed with the name soleila. also soleila/reader is based on a black woman (fmc in the book is black) which is why i'll describe black woman features and certain habits (like wearing a bonnet, getting braids, etc.). and pls, any lewis and kylian or lfc mutuals, hit me up because i am feeling lonely on this app and i need someone to yap and rant my ideas (and i'd love to just have some mutuals <3

â itâs during a small break where sheâs allowed to go home for a week that sheâs finally ready to face reality
â she already knows that sheâs pregnant but the test is the harsh confirmation that she had been avoiding for the past three weeks
â when amara shows kylian the test, he is over the moon and literally canât wait to tell people
â however he instantly notices that thereâs something wrong with amara and they have a sweet moment on the bathroom floor where he reassures her that everything will be fine
â kylian is immediately all in and even ready to stay at home and stop with football for a time however amara rejects that idea quickly
â he always wanted to be a dad and this is practically his dream becoming reality; amara literally has to threaten him to keep his mouth shut because he wants to tell everyone
â itâs at the start of her second trimester that she finally agrees to telling the world and kylian truly canât stop himself from doing the famous ball under the shirt celebration after scoring
â in his mind, every goal that heâs scoring now is for their baby
â everyone, even players she didnât know, congratulated them for the news
â and when the baby starts kicking, kylian is already telling everybody that his child will be a football star just like him to everyoneâs amusement
â liyah and grace organize a small baby shower to find out the gender
â to everyone else, kylian says that he just hopes for a healthy baby but deep down, heâs wants a girl
â he would be happy either way but thereâs just something else for him about having a small little girl that will forever be daddyâs little girl, his little princess that he will spoil to death
â kylian is ready to shout it from the roof when liyah and grace cut the cake and itâs pink inside
â the baby is clearly already a daddyâs girl and it becomes clear when she only kicks for him
â it gets to the point, where kylian literally has to ask his baby to kick for grandma or auntie gracie so the other can feel it too
â when amara reaches the third trimester, kylian goes into full protective mode, especially after the doctor told them that there was a slight risk of giving birth prematurely. and in no way would he allow any harm to his dear princess!
â so from then on, it was kylian who did everything. he was the one to cook and if he was at an away game, he would simply send his mother to take care of amara
â he simply forbade amara from lifting a finger and even paid his chauffeur extra to occasionally come check in on amara. she literally had the biggest laughing flash when she saw his chauffeur enter with two weeks worth of food
â but his initiative turns out to be very helpful because amaraâs cravings become relentless in her third trimester
â she once called kylianâs chauffeur at two in the morning, heavily sobbing because she wanted tacos and kylian was at an away game
â giving birth was truly the hardest part for amara, kylian was still at a game and itâs his chauffeur that brings her to the hospital while ethan tells the coach so kylian can get substituted
â at the hospital, kylianâs heart hurts when he sees amara, all shaken up and sobbing because of the pain â he holds her hand, not caring if she might break it, and whispers encouragements to her when she feels like giving up
â he denies it now but he fully cried when he heard his daughterâs screams for the first time and when he does skin on skin for the first time
â the moment she reaches for his finger, heâs gone and he knows it. his baby girl has him completely wrapped around her finger
â when amara and kylian announce the arrival of their daughter, they break the internet again
â and anaĂŻs not only has her father wrapped around her finger but all her uncles and aunts too which results in her probably becoming way too spoiled

â once anaĂŻs is born, it becomes clear to everyone around that kylian was born to be a girl dad
â he took a month off to stay at home (luckily it was only pre-season) and once he has to go back to training, the moment he comes home, he instantly heads for her crib
â nap time is definitely his favorite time and he follows it religiously. since he canât spend so much time with her because of his job, he always makes sure to be there for anaĂŻsâ nap time
â when anais becomes a bit older and her hair is starting to grow fully, kylian starts to learn how to do braids and cornrows so that in the future he can do her hair.
â he calls his mother in-law and every sunday she comes over to teach him. and since charles wants to be the favorite uncle â he already is â he also starts learning and it results in a little competition between charles and kylian
â another trait he gains is his overprotectiveness.
â the carpet is too rusty? instantly buys a new one. and the smallest cough has him panic and call the doctor instantly
â heâs ready to do anything to make sure his baby girl is the happiest in the world
â when anaĂŻs is seven months old, she goes to her first race â which turns out to be none other than the monaco gp
â this fits perfectly since charles is anaĂŻsâ favorite uncle ( + being her godfather)
â anaĂŻs loves it when charles and liyah are babysitting. charles gives her the nickname sunshine because whenever she is with him, sheâs the smiliest baby
â her first word was âcharâ. kylian was watching f1 with anais and all of the sudden, when they show charles on pole, she screams âcharâ
â and at first kylian was a bit annoyed but the moment anaĂŻs looked up at him with her sweet brown eyes, he was just hella proud of his little girl.
â kylian being the ultimate girl dad also means that he is against any sort of boyfriend
â amara often scolds him because heâll give anaĂŻs âtipsâ what to say to boys when they get close.
âand when he wants to hold your hand, you slap it away. heâll like that.â
â when she starts kindergarten, he makes her sign a shirt and contract, stating âno boyfriend till youâre 50â
â and dad kylian gets even more protective when amara goes on tour and kylian becomes mom and dad in one
â he takes a picture of anything she does
â she sat up for the first time? smile for the camera. holding a new plushy? he absolutely needs to get this.
â it leads to the point where he needs a whole separate laptop just to store all these pictures in there
â after anaĂŻs is born kylian develops deep separation issues because he hates missing out on time with her (to the point heâll drag it out till the last minute if he has to leave for a game)
â whenever kylian gets amara flowers, he always gets anaĂŻs a small bouquet too
â and he always presses a small kiss onto her cheek before kissing amara
â when anaĂŻs is finally able to hold a pen in her hand, she discovers her love for art
â at first it was a way to get her to stop grabbing everything and putting it into her mouth but once she sees how it makes color on paper, sheâs instantly fascinated by it
â sheâs amazed with how it can make things âchangeâ color and canât stop drawing with it, sheâll draw on any surface she can find because she loves the way white changes to another color
â when sheâs old enough kylian turns a whole room into an art space for her where she can let her creativity run wild
â since kylian is very serious about privacy, he makes sure that there are no pictures with anaĂŻsâ face while sheâs still a baby
â itâs always hidden with an emoji or only her side and whenever paparazzi get ahold of anaĂŻsâ face, theyâre already expecting a phone call one hour later from his pr-managers, threatening them to delete the picture
â the world finally gets to see anaĂŻs for the first time when itâs the last match of the season for real madrid and the players walk out with their children
â no one was expecting to see kylian walk out with anaĂŻs. at first she's shy and hides her face in his neck but then she is smiling proudly and waving to everyone
â she loved it so much she literally cried when she had to go back to her mum and kylian had to compromise with her that sheâll get to play with him later
âma petite princesse, ne pleur pas. iâm just going to play with uncle jude, and the others and then iâm going to play with you.â
â once anaĂŻs gets older and starts going out, kylian is always the one to pick her up simply because he doesnât want her to get ubers or taxis at 3 am
â for her first birthday, anaĂŻs only stayed up for an hour after the party started to take a few pictures and then took her nap
â all her other birthdays though she loves staying up late and kylian always has to negotiate with her to get her to sleep (she would never say no to her daddyâs arms)
â when anaĂŻs is four, sheâs obsessed with pets and desperately asks her parents to get her one however kylian isnât really convinced
â cue her sad face and pout and heâs sold. amara is surprised to come home from a work trip and find anaĂŻs playing with a small golden puppyÂ
â and she doesnât even have to ask to know why they suddenly have a new member to their family because she knows that kylian is practically unable to say no to her
â anaĂŻs names the dog kyky because she hears her uncle char and her maman call her daddy kyky and she absolutely adores her dad (sheâs a daddyâs girl to the core)
â anaĂŻs never stops being her daddyâs little princess and even when she becomes a big sister, that never changes (not like kylian would let her, he loves his family more than anything in the world)

world cup edition
â anaĂŻs is barely one year old when the world cup begins and kylian is practically bursting with joy to have her see him play
â whenever he is free he is facetiming amara to see anaĂŻs (to the point they have to take his phone away during practice)
â sheâs the first person kylian instantly looks for whenever he is on the pitch and whenever he scores itâs always dedicated to her
â after a game is over, kylian immediately heads for the family stands to take anaĂŻs from amara so he can hold her
â anaĂŻs is kylianâs number one fan even though she doesnât always understand whatâs going on and no matter how sleepy she is, she will fight her nap if it gets in the way of seeing kylian play
â after their first match, kylian takes anaĂŻs to training since the players are visited by their families and anaĂŻs is the star of the day
â and even though she clings to kylian, she is still the smiliest baby and loves the attention she gets from the others
â when kylian and anaĂŻs are together, theyâre inseparable to the point that kylian once had to take anaĂŻs to post match interviews because she refused to go back to amara
â anaĂŻs loves disturbing his interviews to the point she dictates which questions he answers (as expected from his daughter)
âno, no, no papa.â â âyou heard her guys, next question please.â
â and no one dares criticise him for spending too much time focused on his family because HE WILL take down anyone who dares even look at anaĂŻs the wrong way (and that isnât a threat but a promise)
â the one thing heâs especially looking forward to is making new memories with anaĂŻs, particularly because the world cup isnât just any tournament
â and he will deny it to anyone who asks but he shed a few tears when he first saw anaĂŻs in her little baby france jersey with his number on the back and dada written on the back (itâs literally everything he ever wished for)
â he has amaraâs and anaĂŻsâ initials written on his shoes next to his nephewâs and niece and his family and on his chest, thereâs a small tattoo of amaraâs name and a heart from when they got matching tattoos
â the moment the first match started, kylian swore to himself that he would give his everything to win this world cup, not for him but for anaĂŻs

Toto Wolff sits behind his desk, his expression a mixture of surprise and concern. Y/n and Lewis sit on the other side, both looking a bit sheepish and on edge. Toto looks at them, a moment of awkward silence hanging in the air before he finally speaks. "So," he begins, his voice cautious. "I have to say, this is... quite a situation you've gotten yourselves into."
Lewis clears his throat, his gaze meeting Toto's. "Yeah, we kind of... didn't see this coming," he admits, a hint of humor in his tone. "It was a very unexpected development, to say the least."
Y/n fidgets in her seat, her fingers massaging her forehead. She glances at Toto, his expression still unreadable. She tries to sound calm and rational, but her voice betrays her nervousness. "We weren't... fully sober when it happened," she offers lamely, as if it's an excuse.
Toto's eyebrow quirks at this revelation, a hint of disbelief in his voice. "Not fully sober," he repeats, his tone heavy with incredulity. "You got married... not fully sober?"
Lewis grimaces slightly at the bluntness of his words but doesn't deny it. "That... that's correct," he affirms, his voice a bit strained. "We were both a bit... impaired when we tied the knot, let's put it that way."
Toto rubs his forehead, seeming to struggle with how to respond to this information. He gathers himself and looks at them again, his expression more somber now. "And what exactly were you doing that led to this... marriage?" he asks, his tone slightly stern.
Lewis and Y/n exchange a glance, both knowing the answer will likely not help their case. Lewis speaks up first, his voice a bit sheepish. "We, ah... we were at a club. A very lively club, if you understand."
Toto leans forward in his chair, expression now a mix of thoughtfulness and strategy. "Okay," he says, "this is clearly a situation that will need some serious damage control if it gets out. We'll need the PR team to make something, anything to spin this in a way that... minimizes the impact on your image, Lewis, and the teams' reputation."
Y/n coughs, breaking the silence in the room and drawing everyone's attention. She clears her throat, feeling a bit awkward under the weight of Toto and Lewis' gazes. "Um, forgive me," she apologizes, her voice a bit hoarse. "But what... what are you suggesting?"
Toto's eyes shift to her, his expression still calculating. "Well, we need to control the narrative," he explains. "We need to get ahead of any potential media storm and craft a story that⊠makes this look less like a drunken mistake and more like a⊠a romantic love story, perhaps."
Lewis can't help but scoff slightly at this, his mouth tugging into a wry smile. "A romantic love story, huh?" he muses, skepticism in his tone. "Do you really think anyone's going to believe that?"
Toto's gaze hardens at Lewis' flippant comment. "At this point, any narrative is better than the truth," he says, his voice firm. "We need to protect your image, Lewis, and the team's reputation. We need to control the damage, and that means spinning this in a way that⊠makes you both look as good as possible."
Y/n mutters under her breath as Toto and Lewis continue their discussion, unable to hide her growing concern. "My dad is going to kill me," she whispers, her voice a mixture of dread and resignation. She imagines her father's reaction to this news, the fury and disappointment in his eyes.
She finally speaks up, her mind turning to her own interests in this situation. "Wait," she interjects, cutting into Lewis and Toto's discussion. They both turn to her, surprised. "If we're going to go along with this⊠PR plan, I want something out of it too."
Toto and Lewis look at her, a bit taken aback by her unexpected request. Toto quirks an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "And what is it you want, exactly?" he asks, his tone a mix of curiosity and caution.
Y/n takes a deep breath, her mind racing as she formulates her request. "I want this to benefit me too," she says, her tone firm but tentative. "I don't just want to be a pawn in this charade. I want my own image to be protected, and⊠I want it to have a positive impact on my future, on my family's company."
Toto and Lewis exchange glances, both surprised but also understanding the logic in her request. Lewis turns to her with slight admiration, a small smile playing on his lips. "That's⊠very practical of you," he says, his voice carrying a hint of respect.
Y/n's response is matter-of-fact, and her expression is a mix of determination and practicality. "Business is business," she repeats, her tone resolute. "If we're going to play this game, we might as well use it to our advantage, right?"
Toto nods slightly, appreciating her mercenary approach. "You're not wrong," he concedes, a grudging respect in his voice. "If we can use this situation to our mutual benefit, then perhaps it won't be a total disaster."
Lewis looks at Y/n, a gleam of admiration in his eyes at her business-mindedness. "You've got guts," he remarks, a smirk playing on his lips. "I can respect that."
Y/n chuckles a bit at his comment, the humor beginning to shine through despite the seriousness of their situation. "Well," she says with a small laugh, "if you want to get technical, that is one reason we got married, isn't it?"
Toto glares at Y/n, his gaze is stern and reprimanding. Y/n's eyes widen in response, and she immediately feels a pang of regret, realizing she has spoken out of turn. She mutters a quick "Sorry, too soon," her voice a whisper as she shrinks down in her seat.
Toto sighs, his expression softening slightly. "Let's remain professional, please," he reminds her, his tone a bit weary. "We need you to be present at the next Grand Prix, okay? Because by then we'll have the PR statement announced. Lewis can send you the details."
Y/n nods, a bit chastened but also understanding. "Okay," she apologizes again, her voice sincere. "I'll check my schedule if I'm free on... whatever day that is."
Toto nods in acknowledgment, his expression is still weary but slightly less stern. He turns his attention back to Lewis and continues the discussion, the mood in the room now more serious and focused.
With the focus of the conversation now shifted to Lewis and Toto, Y/n pulls out her phone, sensing that she isn't needed in the immediate discussion. She scrolls through her phone, trying to distract herself from the ongoing conversation. Occasionally, she glances up, listening to bits and pieces of the talk, but mostly just biding her time.
Y/n scrolls through her Twitter feed, her eyes scanning over the various news and Tweets. Suddenly, something catches her eye, causing her to stand up from her seat and exclaim a surprised curse word.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Y/n exclaims, her voice laced with disbelief and shock. She stares down at her phone, the blood draining from her face as she processes whatever she has just seen.
Toto and Lewis' heads snap in her direction at the outburst. They look at her, startled and alarmed by her reaction. Toto's brow furrows in concern, and he asks, "What is it? What's wrong?"
Y/n holds out her phone to Toto, her face still etched with shock and disbelief. Toto takes the phone from her, his eyes widening as he looks at the screen. Lewis leans over to look as well, his expression turning serious as he reads whatever is on the screen.
Toto's jaw clenches as he looks at the image, his expression hard and guarded. He glances at Y/n, then back at the phone screen, seeming to be processing the implications of this photo.
Lewis shakes his head, his jaw clenching in annoyance. "That's just perfect," he mutters sarcastically. "As if we didn't have enough to deal with already."
Toto continues scrolling through the tweet and reading comments from fans and media alike. He pauses, seeing several comments speculating that the woman in the photo is actually Y/n. His expression darkens with concern as he reads these comments.
He glances at Y/n, then at Lewis, and sighs deeply. "This is really bad," he says, his voice a low grumble. "If people start connecting the dots⊠we're going to have a PR nightmare on our hands."
Y/n is silently freaking out, her mind racing with thoughts and worries. She gnaws anxiously on her nails, a nervous habit she has when feeling overwhelmed.
Toto notes her distress but focuses on the practicalities of the situation for the moment, exchanging a few more words with Lewis.
Toto and Lewis quietly discuss the next steps, trying to come up with a damage control plan. Toto occasionally glances at Y/n, noticing her anxious behavior, but doesn't interrupt his conversation with Lewis for the moment.
Y/n suddenly pipes up, interrupting Toto and Lewis' conversation. "Wait," she interjects, her tone a bit frenzied. "What if we lied? What if⊠what if we said we've been married for almost a year? Like, we got married during the winter break?"
Toto's expression softens slightly as he contemplates Y/n's idea. "It's a possibility," he muses, his voice measured. "Getting married during the off-season would make sense, given the hectic schedule of the drivers. It would be more logical that Lewis would take time off for a wedding rather than a drunken elopement."
Lewis nods, seeing the logic in Y/n's suggestion. "It could work," he agrees, his tone less skeptical than before. "It would at least make the whole situation seem less impulsive and foolish, and more like⊠a planned commitment."
Y/n continues to gnaw anxiously on her nails, her eyes flitting between Toto and Lewis as she waits for them to make a decision. The weight of the situation, the impending lie they are about to concoct, hangs heavily on her mind.
Toto notices her distress but is still wrapped up in the discussion with Lewis, he decides to address it once they have a plan. "Let's work out the details," he says, his tone business-like. "We need to make sure our story is ironclad, and our timelines line up."
He turns to Y/n, his expression stern but not unsympathetic. "And I suggest you stop chewing on your nails," he remarks matter-of-factly. "We'll need to present a united, calm front, and that doesn't include nervous fidgeting."
Though Y/n stops biting her nails as Toto advises, her anxiety doesn't diminish. She transfers her nervous energy to her palms, starting to scratch and pick nervously at the skin, leaving slight crescent-shaped marks.
Toto notices her new anxious habit but doesn't address it directly at the moment. He and Lewis continue their discussion, fine-tuning the details of the lie they are going to spin. The atmosphere in the room remains tense, but there seems to be a rough plan coming together.
As the meeting draws to a close, Toto excuses himself to take a call from the head of PR. He motions for Y/n and Lewis to wait, and they remain silent in Toto's office as he steps out to take the call.
When Toto returns, he appears even more tense than before. He bids both Y/n and Lewis a rushed farewell, as he needs to deal with the situation with the head of PR. The two of them are left standing in the office, the atmosphere heavy with the weight of the day's events.
Lewis glances at Y/n, her face slightly pale and tired from the stress of the situation. He can tell that she's still anxious and tense, and he reaches out to gently squeeze her hand, offering a small gesture of comfort. "Hey," he says in a soft voice, "it's going to be okay. We're⊠we're going to get through this."
Y/n looks up at him, her eyes weary and full of worry. She tries to force a small smile, appreciating his attempt at reassurance. "I hope so," she replies, her voice a bit shaky. "I just⊠I hope we can pull this off. The lieâŠ"
Lewis nods in understanding. "I know," he says, his tone sympathetic. "It's a lot to take on. But we don't have many options at this point. If we don't control the narrative, someone else will, andâŠ" he trails off, the implication clear.
Y/n nods, knowing that he's right. "I get it," she mutters, her voice laced with resignation. "I just⊠I didn't sign up for all this, you know? All this⊠lying, and spinning stories, and⊠pretending."
Y/n lets out a humorless chuckle, her voice resigned. "You're telling me," she says sarcastically. "I didn't even sign up for this marriage, not while I was sober at least... and now I have to lie about it, pretend it was pre-planned, and⊠play the part of the dutiful wife."
She shakes her head, the absurdity of the situation weighing heavily on her shoulders. "It's just⊠surreal," she continues her tone a mix of disbelief and frustration. "A few days ago, I was a private person, living my life, and now I'm suddenly⊠a married woman, the center of a media shitstorm, and I'm expected to lie about it all like it's no big deal."
As they walk down the halls, Y/n is still somewhat zoned out, her mind preoccupied with the stresses and worries of the day. Lewis is right beside her, his hand occasionally on her lower back, providing silent moral support. They pass by other team members and staff, and more than a few curious glances and whispers follow them, aware of the situation unfolding but unwilling to speak openly.
They reach the parking lot, and Lewis turns to Y/n, his expression concerned. "Do you want me to drive you home?" he asks gently, his tone sincere. "You look exhausted."
Y/n nods, her fatigue clearly visible in her eyes and demeanor. "Yeah," she replies, her voice a weary whisper. "That would be great, thanks. I'm⊠I'm feeling pretty wiped out."
Lewis nods in understanding and leads her towards his car. The trip to her home is mostly silent, both of them too emotionally drained to talk much. Lewis occasionally glances at her, checking if she is okay. Y/n just gazes out the window, her thoughts far away.
He follows the directions given by Y/n to her apartment. The car ride is quiet, neither of them speaking much due to the weight of the situation on their minds. Once they arrive at her apartment, Lewis parks the car but doesn't immediately get out. Instead, he turns to her, his expression a mixture of worry and concern.
Lewis watches as Y/n unbuckles her seatbelt and reaches for the door handle. Before she can open the door, he turns to her and asks, "You're going to be okay, right? You'll be okay alone? I can stay with you if you want."
Y/n offers a weary smile, touched by Lewis's concern. "I⊠I'll be fine," she assures him, her voice soft but strained. "You don't need to stay. I just⊠need some time to process all this. Alone."
Lewis accepts her decision to be alone, though his expression remains worried. "Okay," he says softly, "Take care of yourself, alright? And⊠call me if you need anything. Anytime, okay?"
She nods slightly, appreciating his offer. "Thanks, I will," she replies. "I'll⊠I'll be fine. I just need a bit of space to clear my head."
Y/n exits the car, her movements slow and weary. The weight of the situation seems to hang heavily on her shoulders as she stands outside her apartment, looking up at the building.
Lewis watches her from the driver's seat, a mixture of concern and sadness on his face. He waits a moment to make sure she gets inside safely before driving off.
July 8, Monday, 10:37 AM
As Y/n begins to unlock her apartment door, she hears the familiar sound of her cat meowing on the other side. The sound is both a comfort and a further reminder of her responsibilities, and she feels a pang of fondness mixed with exhaustion.
After unlocking the door, she pushes it open and is immediately met with the soft sound of her cat rubbing against her legs, meowing for attention. Y/n bends down and scoops up the cat in her arms, holding it close to her chest, seeking comfort in its presence.
She holds her cat âExtra Virgin Olive Oilâ (âEvooâ for short) close, the familiar warmth and weight of her furry companion a soothing presence. The ridiculousness of the name, a result of yet another drunken decision, momentarily brings a bittersweet smile to her lips.
Y/n walks into the apartment, closing the door behind her and making her way to the living room. She sits down on the couch, setting her bag on the floor before setting Evoo down on her lap and gently stroking his white fur. The soothing motion and rhythmic purring of the cat help to calm her tumultuous thoughts.
As Y/n sits on the couch, gently stroking her cat, she begins to speak to him in a soft, quiet voice. Although itâs not unusual for people to talk to their pets, thereâs an undertone of vulnerability in her words, unloading her worries to a receptive but silent companion.
âHi, baby,â she begins, her voice laced with exhaustion. âYou wonât believe the day Iâve had.â She continues to idly pet the cat in her lap, the gentle motion seeming to soothe her as much as her cat. âI⊠Iâve gotten myself into a real mess, you know? Things are⊠complicated, to say the least.â
She leans her head back against the couch, her fingers continuing to absently run through the white catâs fur. âI know youâre just a cat, and you probably donât understand what Iâm saying. But it helps, talking to you like this. It helps to get it all out, even if you canât talk back.â
As Y/n continues to talk, the words flow out of her in a rushed confession. âAnd⊠thatâs not even the craziest, Evoo,â she murmurs, shaking her head slightly. âI got married. Can you believe that?â
Her cat, as if responding to her words, looks up at her with its large eyes, seemingly bewildered by the revelation. It tilts its head as if asking âWhat?!â
Y/n lets out a soft, humorless chuckle at her catâs reaction, continuing to stroke its fur. âYeah, I know. Itâs crazy, right?â she continues, her voice still heavy with exhaustion but holding a hint of irony. âI⊠I got married, and I donât even remember most of it. Isnât that just wild?â
She pushes aside her exhaustion and moves from the couch, placing Evoo gently on the nearby rug. She then remembers to change her catâs water bowl, her actions automatic and routine. As she fills the bowl from the kitchen sink, she glances back at her cat, still resting on the rug.
âDonât worry, bud,â she calls out, her voice slightly less weary, âHeâs⊠heâs a good guy. I think.â
After refilling the water bowl, Y/n returns to the living room, her mind still swirling with the dayâs events. She glances at Evoo, who is now lapping up the fresh water. For a moment, she wishes her life was as simple as a catâs, where the most pressing concern was the next meal, not an unexpected marriage and a web of lies.
Y/n rubs his head one last time before straightening up. âAlright, buddy,â she says, her tone softer now that sheâs attending to her catâs needs. âIâm going to take a bath. Be a good boy while Iâm gone, alright?â
She sits in the bathtub, the water warm and comforting, surrounding her tired body in a soothing embrace. An iPad is placed on a wooden bath tray near the edge of the tub, playing a movie that sheâs only partially paying attention to.
In her hand, she holds a glass of lemon water, taking small sips every now and then as she there, letting the hot water work its relaxing magic.
The scent of lavender from a bath bomb fills the room, adding to the atmosphere of calm and tranquility. However, despite the peaceful setting, Y/nâs mind remains restless, the events of the day still weighing heavily on her thoughts. Despite trying to focus on the movie, she finds her mind wandering back to the marriage, the lie, the future.
As the stream from the bath billows around her, Y/n takes another small sip from her lemon water, her mind still spinning. The bath was intended to relax her, to wash away the tension of the day, but her thoughts stubbornly refused to let her rest. She tries to force herself to watch the movie, to focus on something other than her worries, but the events of the day keep flooding back.
The heat of the bath, combined with the subtle fragrance of the lavender, should be lulling her into a tranquil state, but her mind is too chaotic, too filled with worries and regrets. She takes another sip of her lemon water, the tangy taste reminding her of the sourness she feels inside, the unease that hasn't let her go since this whole mess began.
Y/n is wrapped in a towel, her wet hair sticking to her shoulders as she steps out of her bedroom and into the living/dining space. She's surprised to see Lyka walking in with a bright smile, a stark contrast to her own weary state.
Y/n, still wrapping the towel around herself, glances up at Lyka through wet strands of hair. "You seem unusually cheerful," she remarks, her tone slightly teasing as she reaches the kitchen and sets her glass down in the sink. Evoo brushes against her leg, seeking attention, and she gives the cat a gentle pat before turning back to Lyka. "What's up?"
Lyka's eyes sparkle with excitement and a hint of pride. "The best night ever," she echoes, her smile widening. "You won't believe it, Y/n. I hooked up with the DJ."
Y/n raises her brows in surprise and recognition. "Oh, Lando?" she asks, a hint of amusement in her tone. "I saw you dancing with him at the booth last night."
Lyka blinks in surprise when Y/n says Lando's name, her excitement now mixed with a touch of curiosity. "Yeah!- Wait, how do you know his name?" she asks, her expression a mix of surprise and intrigue.
Y/n settles onto a bar stool, opening the wrapper to a small piece of chocolate. She takes a small bite of the chocolate and continues talking to Lyka as she munches on the sweet treat. "I became friends with one of Lando's friends last night," she explains, a hint of a smile pulling at the corners of her mouth.
Her playful smile fades as the memory of her marriage hits her like a ton of bricks. She chokes mid-sentence, the taste of chocolate turning bitter in her mouth. "I... um..." she stutters, her mind racing to find a way to explain.
"I... I have something to tell you," she manages to continue, her voice a bit strained. She sets the chocolate bar down, her appetite suddenly gone. "And... it's kind of a big deal. Like, a really big deal."
Lyka's expression changes as she senses the seriousness in Y/n's tone. Her eyes widened slightly, and she leaned in, her face replaced by a look of concern. "What is it?" she asks, her voice low and worried.
Y/n takes a deep breath, bracing herself for the reaction that's about to follow. "I..." she starts, her voice faltering as she struggles to find the right words. "I... I got married."
There's a moment of stunned silence as Lyka processes Y/n's confession. Her eyes widen even further, and her hand grips the countertop, her knuckles turning white. "You... you what?" she manages to stutter out, her voice a mix of shock and disbelief.
"And... it may or may not have been a friend of Lando's...." Lyka's eyes widen even further when Y/n clarifies that the person she married is a friend of Lando. "Wait..." she starts, her mind spinning with the implications. "You married one of Lando's friends? Who..."
Y/n hesitates for a moment, her heart pounding in her chest. She swallows hard, preparing herself for the fallout. "Lewis," she finally manages to say. "I... I married Lewis."
As Lyka tries to remember if Lando mentioned anything Lewis, a flicker of recognition appears in her eyes. "Wait..." she says, her soft soft as she recalls the conversation with Lando. "Lando mentioned something about a party of celebrate one of his friends' win. Was that Lewis?"
Y/n doesn't trust herself to speak, so she just nods in affirmation. She can see the pieces falling into place in Lyka's mind, her friend digesting the information with a mix of surprise and confusion.
Lyka lifts her hands in a gesture of disbelief, her voice filled with a mixture of amusement and incredulity. "I swear, the universe has a weird sense of humor when it comes to you and alcohol," she says, shaking her head. "Seriously, the weirdest things happen to you when you're drunk. It's like you're attracting weirdness or something."
As Y/n gets up to change, she can't help but notice that Lyka is wearing a hoodie she doesn't recognize. She decides to bring it up later, as they have plenty to discuss when they regroup in the kitchen.
"Alright, let's change and meet here in five," Y/n suggests, her tone a bit lighter now. "We'll compare our crazy nights, and you can tell me about your new hoodie too," she adds with a smile.
Lyka flushes furiously as Y/n hints at the hoodie she's wearing, her cheeks turning a deep shade of red. "Oh my god, shut up," she giggles, trying to hide her embarrassment. "It's just a hoodie, okay?"
Y/n grins knowingly as she responds, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Yeah, it's Lando's hoodie," she teases, emphasizing the name for effect. "And you're blushing like crazy."
Lyka buries her face in her hands, still blushing profusely. "Ugh, I swear, you're the worst," she groans, half-heartedly swatting at Y/n "Why do you have to point it out like that?"
Y/n laughs, enjoying the sight of her flustered friend. "Alright, alright, I'll stop teasing," she says, her voice filled with amusement. She moves towards her room, still smiling at Lyka's reaction. "You get changed, and I'll do the same. Meet you in the kitchen in five."
Y/n sits next to Lyka, a soft smile on her face. As they settle into their seats by the counter, Lyka begins recounting her night with Lando. Her cheeks are still a little flushed, betraying her excitement.
"So, about last night..." she says, her voice slightly giddy, "I had the best night ever with Lando."
Y/n takes a chip from the bowl on the counter, chewing on it as she listens to her friend's story. "Yeah?" she prompts. encouraging Lyka to continue. "Tell me more. What made it the best night ever?"
Lyka emphasizes her point, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "His hands were skilled," she repeats, her voice lowered to a whisper. "Seriously, Y/n, you have no idea. He was so fucking good."
"His touches, his moves, everything just... wow," Lyka continues, the memory clearly relived in her mind. She takes a sip of her water, her gaze distant for a moment before she focuses on Y/n. "I swear, it was like he knew exactly what to do, and how to do it."
Lyka's excitement reaches a whole new level as she starting bouncing in her seat. "Oh my god," she exclaims, her voice a mix of shock and excitement. "When he was-" She suddenly breaks off, her words catching in her throat.
She cuts off her own sentence, biting her lip as if holding back a secret. There's a mixture of delight and surprise on her face. "He... he was just-" she stammers, struggling to put the experience into words. "It was incredible," she finally manages, her voice full of awe.
Y/n listens intently, smiling at her friend's enthusiasm. She can tell that whatever Lando did, it clearly surpassed Lyka's expectations. "Incredible, huh?" she teases, raising a brow. "Sounds like Lando's got some serious skills there."
Lyka takes a moment to fan herself, the memory of her night with Lando still fresh in her mind. "Yeah... yeah I was," she says, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "I was shaking like a leaf by the time it was done."
She looks down at her hands as if reliving the sensation. "It was tense," she adds, shaking her head in disbelief. "Like, seriously intense. I don't think I could have handled much more."
Lyka lets out a shaky breath, a mixture of pleasure and disbelief in her voice. "Yeah," she replies, her face still flushed. "He just... he just kept going, even when I thought I couldn't take anymore. It was... it was too much, but in the best way possible, you know?"
She takes another sip of her water, her body still feeling the after-effects of Lando's touches. "He knew exactly what he was doing," she adds, a hint of admiration in her voice. "I've never experienced anything like it before."
Y/n can't resist teasing a little more, a sly smile on her face. "Well," she says, raising a brow, "Maybe Lando was just making up for the disappointing performance your ex put on."
Lyka, still flushed and giggling, enthusiastically agrees with Y/n's assessment. "ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY!" she exclaims, her voice loud and clear. "Lando was the complete opposite of my ex. He made up for that shitshow tenfold."
She takes a moment to catch her breath, her face still glowing. She can't help but gush about Lando's attributes, her voice filled with awed excitement. "I swear, he was HUGE," she says, her voice filled with excitement.
Y/n laughs, her eyes wide with a mix of shock and amusement. "Shh, shh, keep it down," she shushes her friend, laughing as she glances toward the wall shared with their neighbors. "The whole building doesn't need to know about Lando's... size."
Lyka, still caught up in the memory of her night with Lando, continues to rave about his skills and his 'size' ''I don't even know how to describe it," she gushes, her voice filled with admiration. "There's just... no comparison. Lando's in a league of his own."
She's so caught up in her praise that she practically glows. "I never knew it could be like that," she admits, her flushed cheeks a clear indication of her satisfaction. "He knows how to handle everything."
Lyka's voice softens as she reflects on the night, her face now taking on a more tender expression. "He was so gentle and caring afterward," she says, a hint of fondness in her tone. "It was like he knew exactly what I needed."
Y/n, curious about the tender side of Lando, asks how exactly he was caring after their night together. Lyka's expression softens even more as she continues. "He was really sweet," she explains. "He held me close, and told me how amazing I was. Kept asking if I was okay, and if I needed anything. Just really took care of me, you know?"
"Oh, and he left me a shit ton of hickeys too," Lyka mentions, causing Y/n to involuntarily spit out her drink in surprise. Y/n's eyes widen as Lyka casually mentions that detail. She was taking a sip of her drink at the same moment, causing her to almost choke on the liquid, spurting it out in surprise. "Hickeys?" she exclaims, her voice slightly strained. "Lando gave you hickeys?"
Lyka grins widely, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She shifts the collar of her shirt to reveal several small, purplish marks on her collarbone and neck. "Yeah," she says, her voice a bit smug. "He marked me up, good."
Lyka lets out a cheeky giggle, her eyes sparkling. "Oh, yeah," she confirms, her voice slightly lower. "He left some on my thighs too, but Lando said those were for his eyes only."
Y/n can't help but stare at her friend in disbelief. Her mouth is still slightly agape, her eyes wide as she processes the information. "For his eyes only, huh?" she manages to say, her voice a mix of disbelief and amusement.
She shakes her head, a little bemused by Lando's possessiveness. "Sounds like Lando wants to keep you all to himself," she teases, grinning. "No sharing allowed."
Lyka grins, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "Oh, absolutely," she confirms, giggling. "We made a deal. He wants to be my friend with benefits," she says, using air quotes, "And I just have to look pretty and make him feel good." She adds with a coy smile, paraphrasing Lando's words.
Lyka brightens up even more, her voice eager and excited. "Oh, and I'm going to his next race too!" she exclaims, bouncing a little in her seat. "I'll be in the McLaren garage, of course. Lando said he wants me there."
Y/n nods, a smile on her face. "I'll be there too, slightly against my will," she confirms, "But I'll be in the Mercedes garage." She glances at her friend, a spark of curiosity in her eyes. "This is gonna be fun, watching the race from opposite ends of the garage."
"So... what about your night?" Lyka asks curiously, looking at Y/n with amusement through her eyelashes.
Y/n takes a moment, her mind flashing back to the events of her night. "My nightâŠ" she muses, her voice a little dreamy. "Well, it was⊠eventful, to say the least."
She lets out a soft chuckle, the memory of the night still fresh in her mind. "So, I was on the dance floor, just dancing, and Lewis came up behind me," she recalls, her voice laced with a hint of excitement.
Y/n glances at Lyka before continuing, her voice taking on a wry tone. "Yeah, it was around the time you went to dance with Lando," she says, clearly amused by the coincidence. "Lewis just appeared out of nowhere, tapped me on the shoulder, and we started dancing."
She smiles, her cheeks slightly flushed as she describes the night. "We were talking, flirting a bit," she says, her voice holding a hint of excitement. "He bought me drinks at the bar, and we just⊠connected, I guess."
Y/n lets out a light laugh, her cheeks flushing a little at the memory. "Yeah, so⊠eventually⊠we may have found a secluded spot and, you know, things got a bit heated," she explains, a coy smile playing on her lips. "And I may or may not have told him I'd marry him as a joke."
She shakes her head, still amused by the audacity of her own words. "I don't even know where it came from," she says. "Just a spur-of-the-moment thing, you know? A little drunken banter."
Y/n continues, her voice filled with amusement. "Well, Lewis just chuckled when I said it," she recounts. "I mean, he knew I was just joking, right? But then he just⊠playfully agreed, you know? Like, he said something like, 'Sure, why not? Let's get hitched.' It was all just goofing around, really."
Y/n sees the look on Lyka's face and knows her friend is judging her, but it's in a friendly way. She laughs, shaking her head. "Hey, don't give me that look," she says, a hint of defensiveness in her voice. "It was just a joke, you know that, right?"
Lyka gives Y/n a sly smile, her voice filled with mock disbelief. "A joke that turned into an actual marriage," she repeats, her tone dripping with cheeky sarcasm. "Wow, I hope Lewis doesn't mind waking up to your morning breath every day."
Y/n playfully smacks Lyka's arm, laughing. "Hey, my morning breath isn't that bad," she protests, her voice light with feigned offense.
She then swats at Lyka again, her smile broadening. "And for the record, I would make an amazing wife," she boasts, her voice half-joking, half-serious.
Y/n straightens her shoulders, posing theatrically. "I'd be, like, the perfect trophy wife. I'd look good standing next to Lewis during his press conferences and podium interviews."
Lyka laughs out loud at Y/n's confident declaration. "Oh my god," she snickers, her voice filled with mirth. "You're actually picturing yourself as a trophy wife? Standing there, looking pretty while Lewis talks about racing strategy and tire compounds?"
Y/n grins, raising a brow at Lyka. "And what about you?" she asks a hint of challenge in her voice. "Can you see yourself doing the same for Lando? Standing there, looking gorgeous, while he talks about car setup and track conditions?"
Lyka nods with conviction, a sparkle in her eyes. "Absolutely, yes," she affirms. "I can totally picture myself looking all cute and pretty, with a whole wardrobe of amazing outfits courtesy of Lando's earnings. It's all about the perks, you know?"
She grins mischievously. "Besides, watching Lando on the track, all focused and intense, and then coming home to spoil me rotten? Sounds pretty damn good to me."
Y/n nods, her lips curving into a smile. "You know what, you have a point there," she admits, her voice laced with a touch of envy. "Getting to watch Lewis race, all focused and competitive, and then having him come home and⊠well, show me just how much he appreciates me⊠yeah, I could get used to that."
She quirks an eyebrow, glancing at the calendar. "Alright, when's the next race again?" she asks, her voice slightly impatient. "I need to check if I'm free that day, cause Toto- his team principal, I believe? said that I have to be there. Some PR bullshit."
Y/n pulls out her phone, quickly searching for the race schedule. "Lemme see," she murmurs, scrolling through her screen. "There we go. The next race is two weeks from now... Let's see⊠yep, I'm free that day."
She puts her phone away, a hint of satisfaction in her voice. "All clear," she affirms. "I'll be there, cheering on Lewis every lap of the way."
Lyka smirks, her voice dripping with playfully sarcastic praise. "Oh, you're such a good wife," she teases. "Making sure you're always available to support your husband's racing career. That's true devotion right there."
Y/n laughs, returning the teasing with a sly grin. "And what about you?" she asks, raising a brow. "Ready to be Lando's arm candy, showing off all those designer outfits he'll buy you?"
Lyka nods vigorously, her face already picturing the fancy outfits she'd wear. "Oh, absolutely," she declares, her voice oozing with enthusiasm. "I'm so ready to be Lando's arm candy, strutting around in all the gorgeous designer outfits he'll spoil me with."
Lyka takes a moment to swallow her chip and then adds, "And hey, speaking of Lando's stuff, I actually need to return that hoodie he lent me. Gotta make sure he gets it back."
She grins mischievously. "Although, maybe I'll 'accidentally' keep it a day or two longer just to remind him of me."
Y/n tsks, shaking her head in mock disapproval. "Oh, wow," she chuckles, her tone laced with feigned surprise. "That's such harlot behavior, keeping a guy's hoodie just to remind him of yourself."
Lyka looks at Y/n in exaggerated shock, her mouth dropping open in mock offense. "Harlot? Really?" she exclaims, her voice filled with laughter. "Out of all the words you could've chosen, you went with harlot! That's a bit harsh, don't you think?"
Y/n shrugs, unable to keep a straight face. "What? It fits!" she replies, her voice laced with mirth. "You're deliberately keeping his hoodie longer just to keep his attention on you. If that isnât harlot behavior, then I don't know what is."
Lyka rolls her eyes dramatically, a playful grin on her face. "Oh, please," she exclaims, batting her eyelashes dramatically. "It's not harlot behavior, it's strategic flirting. There's a difference."
Y/n chuckles, holding up her hands in mock surrender. "Okay, okay," she concedes, her voice still tinged with laughter. "You can call it whatever you want. Strategic flirting, friendly teasing, whatever floats your boat."
July 8, Monday, 4:51 PM
Y/n is in the middle of preparing dinner, peeling potatoes and chopping veggies, when her phone buzzes with a message from an unknown number. She glances down at it curiously, setting down her knife for a moment.
After a few moments, Y/n finishes replying to Lewis' message, a small smile on her face. She sets down her phone, the conversation with Lewis momentarily distracting her from her cooking preparations.
Y/n continues chopping vegetables, her hands moving deftly as she's suddenly interrupted by the sound of Lyka's phone ringing. She stops for a moment, looking up as Lyka grabs her phone.
Lyka's face lights up with surprise as she answers the phone, hearing Lando's voice on the line. "Oh! Hey, Lando," she replies, her voice already cheerful.
Y/n can't help but smile at Lyka's reaction, hearing the change in her tone. She continues chopping vegetables as she listens to Lyka's side of the conversation.
Lyka's voice is filled with excitement as she responds to Lando's question. "Yes, I'll get the tickets for the flight myself," she confirms, her voice slightly giddy. "I'll be there by Friday, no problem."
Her face flushes with a rosy hue as Lando brings up the subject of his hoodie. She lets out a soft, nervous chuckle and replies, a hint of playful charm in her voice, "Ah, about the hoodie⊠Well, I was actually thinking I might hang onto it a little longer."
Y/n, unable to contain her amusement, lets out a soft giggle, drawing Lyka's attention. She glances at her friend, a sly smile on her face.
Lyka continues the conversation with Lando, her voice taking on a flirtatious tone as she playfully teases him. "You know, if you miss the hoodie that much, you'll just have to come and get it from me yourselfâŠ"
Y/n stops mid-preparation, her eyes widening as she eavesdrops on Lyka's conversation. She gapes at her friend for a brief moment, surprised by the boldness of her response.
She can't help but chuckle to herself, thinking, "Lyka's really turning on the charm. Lando's going to be all over her when he gets that hoodie backâŠ"
Lyka continues the conversation, her voice dropping to a sultry tone. "It seems like you miss this hoodie more than you miss me, if you're that desperate to get your hoodie back, maybe we should meet up tomorrowâŠ"
Lyka smiles widely as Lando agrees to meet up the next day. "Great, I'll send you my address in a moment," she replies, her voice a mix of anticipation. "I need to go now, though. But I'll see you tomorrow, alright?"
Y/n watches the exchange with a mixture of amusement and surprise. She can't help but shake her head in disbelief as Lyka ends the call, a cheeky smile on her face.
"Wow," Y/n says, her voice filled with admiration. "You really have Lando wrapped around your finger, don't you?"
Lyka grins, her cheeks still flushed with a hint of a blush. "What can I say? I have my ways of persuasion," she replies, a coy smirk on her face.
Y/n laughs at Lyka's response, amused by her friend's confidence. She continues preparing dinner, adding the ingredients to the pot and stirring it together in the pot, her mind temporarily preoccupied as she focuses on her cooking task. The kitchen emits a warm, savory aroma, the spices blending together to create a mouthwatering scent.
Y/n is suddenly interrupted by the sound of Lyka spitting out her tea, accompanied by an annoyed meow from Evoo. She looks up, slightly startled, setting down her spoon to look over at her friend.
"Whoa, what happened?" Y/n asks, looking at Lyka, who's wiping her mouth with a napkin. Her eyes move to the cat, who's also looking slightly grumpy from the unexpected spray.
Lyka, still catching her breath, quickly points at Y/n's phone, which is on the kitchen counter. "Check your Instagram," she says urgently, a hint of excitement in her voice.
Y/n grabs her phone from the kitchen counter, a look of curiosity on her face. She swipes through her notifications and opens Instagram, as per Lyka's instruction.
Y/n scans through her Instagram timeline and her heart skips a beat as she catches the first article. The statement from Mercedes about her marriage to Lewis is plastered right on her screen. She reads through it, disbelief and surprise etched across her face.

A mix of emotions floods through her as she continues reading. She feels a wave of shock, followed by a pang of confusion. Y/n grips her phone tighter, her eyes glued to the words on the screen.
Y/n looks up from her phone, her voice quivering with surprise and a hint of concern. "I didn't know they were releasing this statement today," she replies, her words tinged with a mixture of confusion and anxiety.
Her voice becomes more frantic, the words tumbling out of her mouth in a rush. "It was just an idea I pitched! The whole 'married for 6 months' thing- it wasn't supposed to be taken seriously, not this soon at least!"
She paces around the kitchen, her heart pounding with worry and uncertainty. "I never thought they'd actually make a statement about it without speaking to me first," she mutters, her voice betraying her growing anxiety.
As Y/n continues to pace anxiously, biting on her nails, Lyka takes action. She stands up from the counter and gently grasps Y/n's shoulders, trying to anchor her in the moment.
"Hey, hey," Lyka says in a soothing tone. "Take a deep breath, okay? Panicking isn't going to help the situation."
Y/n nods, trying to steady her racing thoughts. She takes a few deep breaths, letting the air fill her lungs and gradually slowing down her frenzied heartbeat.
Y/n is snapped out of her anxious thoughts as her phone rings loudly in her hand, jolting her back to reality. She glances down at the screen, wondering who could be calling her at this moment.
Her eyes widen as she sees her father's name on the caller ID. She stares at the screen for a moment, her mind swirling with thoughts. Taking another deep breath, she swipes to answer the call.
"Hello?" she says, her voice slightly shaky as she brings the phone to her ear.
She listens intently as her father's voice comes through the other end of the line, waiting anxiously for whatever he has to say. Y/n's father's voice is stern but concerned. "Y/n," he begins, "Have you seen the statement released by Mercedes?"
Y/n holds the phone a little tightly, her heart rate increasing again. "Dad," she begins, "Yes, I just saw it on Instagram. But listen, it's not what it seems-"
Her father's voice cuts her off, filled with disbelief and disappointment. "Not what it seems? It says you've been married to Lewis for 6 months. Explain that."
Y/n hesitates for a moment, her mind racing to come up with a viable explanation. Feeling cornered, she decides to go along with the lie, knowing that the truth will lead to even more disappointment and shame from her father.
"Okay, okay," she says, her voice quivering slightly. "Yes, it's true we got married. But Dad, please understand, it wasn't a spur-of-the-moment thing. We wanted to keep it quiet, that's why we didn't tell anyone right awayâŠ"
Y/n listens to her father's scolding, her heart sinking further with each question. "I know, I know," she responds, her voice filled with guilt and remorse. "I should have told you sooner. But Dad, you have to understand, Lewis and I wanted to keep things private at first. The public attention can be overwhelming, and we wanted to enjoy our newlywed bliss in peaceâŠ"
Y/n feels a lump form in her throat as she hears the disappointment in her father's voice. This is a first for herâshe's never had to lie to her father before, and the guilt starts to weigh heavily on her heart. Fresh tears well up in her eyes, but she tries to maintain her composure on the phone.
Lyka sees the tears in Y/n's eyes and immediately takes notice, her face filled with concern. She walks over to her friend and starts rubbing her back soothingly, a silent show of support and solidarity.
Y/n's father continues to press, his tone slightly more subdued now, "And when can we meet Lewis? Your mother deserves to meet him as soon as possible. We can't just be finding out about your husband on social media, for goodness sake!"
Y/n swallows hard, the weight of the lie becoming more palpable. She racks her brain for an answer, trying to come up with a believable timeframe. "Uh, well, we're actually not together right now... he's still... with his family...," she says, her voice still shaky. "Maybe⊠Maybe this week? Or when their summer break begins?"
Her father remains silent for a moment, mulling over the proposed timeline. "Very well," he finally responds, his voice still edged with disappointment. "We'll plan something for next week then. I expect a proper introduction and explanation. No more secrets, understood?"
Y/n nods, even though her father can't see her. "Yes, Dad, understood. No more secrets," she mutters, her voice tinged with a mix of guilt and resignation.
After the call ends, Y/n closes her phone, a deep sigh escaping her lips. The weight of the lie and the disappointment from her father hang heavily on her shoulders. She feels like a guilty teenager all over again.
Lyka sees the distress etched on Y/n's face and quickly strides over to her, wrapping her arms around her in a comforting hug. "It's going to be okay," she whispers softly, trying to soothe her friend's troubled heart.
Y/n takes a deep breath, gathering her thoughts and trying to rein in her emotions. She then looks over at Lyka, a newfound determination etched on her face. "I need to let Lewis know about the situation with my father," she says, her voice steadying slightly.
She swiftly opens her phone and navigates to Lewis' contact. She knows she needs to inform him about the recent turn of events. Her fingers grip the phone tighter as she starts typing a message to him.
Y/n closes her phone and sighs, her body still feeling the emotional toll from the conversation with her father. Seeing that Lyka has taken over the cooking, Y/n moves to a nearby chair and plops down, still mulling over the recent developments.
While sitting on the chair, she takes a moment to mentally process everything that has happened. Her mind is filled with a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions - the lie, the need to maintain the facade, the guilt of deceiving her father, and the impending meeting with Lewis and her parents.
July 14th, 5:34 PM
The two sit in the car, the engine idling in the driveway of Y/n's childhood home. The atmosphere in the car is tense, and both of them are dreading the upcoming meeting with Y/n's parents.
She takes a deep breath, stealing a glance at Lewis before speaking up. "Okay, here's the plan," she begins, her voice a mixture of conviction and anxiety.
Y/n goes over the 'story' again, recapping the timeline of their 'relationship.' "We met during my vacation- your Christmas break of 2022, and became friends for about two months before you started courting me for three more months," she reminds Lewis. "We started dating after that, dated for five months, got engaged for around two months, and then got married in mid-January. Got it?"
Lewis nods, taking in the timeline and details of their fictional relationship. He's clearly trying to commit everything to memory, fully aware of the importance of maintaining a consistent story in front of Y/n's parents.
Y/n takes another deep breath, her hand fiddling with the hem of her shirt. "Just remember, the key is to stay consistent and make it believable," she adds, her voice a tad shakier than before.
Lewis reaches out and takes Y/n's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "We can do this," he says, his voice filled with determination and reassurance. "We just have to stick to the story and not let our nerves get the better of us."
Y/n nods, reassured by Lewis' words and the gentle squeeze of his hand. "You're right," she says, her voice steadier now. "Stick to the story, stay cool, and we'll get through this."
Lewis turns off the ignition, and the engine falls silent. Both of them unbuckle their seatbelts and get out of the car. Standing in the driveway, they take a moment to glance at each other, preparing themselves for the upcoming interaction.
Y/n's heart pounds in her chest as she and Lewis approach the front door. The familiar surroundings of her childhood home bring back a mixture of emotionsânostalgia, nervousness, and the weight of the lie they're about to perpetuate.
She reaches out and rings the doorbell, the sound echoing through the peaceful neighborhood. They wait for a few moments, the anticipation growing with each passing second.
The maid opens the door and greets Y/n and Lewis warmly. "Hello, welcome," she says with a friendly smile. "Your father is still in his study doing some paperwork and your mother is helping the chefs with the dishes. They should be finished soon."
Y/n thanks the maid and glances at Lewis, a hint of anxiety in her eyes. She leads him into the house, the familiar scent of her childhood home filling her nostrils.
She takes Lewis' hand and leads him into the living room. The spacious room is tastefully decorated with a mix of antique and modern furniture, a reflection of her family's taste and style. She guides him to a cozy sofa and motions for him to take a seat.
As they settle onto the sofa, the maid follows behind them and asks, "Can I get you anything to drink? Coffee, tea, water, perhaps?"
Y/n turns to the maid and responds, her voice a bit tense. "I'll have cold water, please. Thank you."
She then turns to Lewis, trying to keep a semblance of normalcy despite her inner turmoil. "Would you like anything, Lewis? Water, coffee, tea"
Lewis looks at Y/n and then at the maid and replies, "I'll have tea, please. Thank you."
As the maid exits the living room Lewis sidles closer to Y/n on the sofa, draping an arm around her in a comforting gesture. He leans in and whispers something in her ear, his voice low and barely audible to anyone else.
In a quiet voice, Lewis whispers to Y/n, "Are there any cameras in the living room?" He asks the question, his gaze subtly glancing around for any visible signs of surveillance equipment.
Y/n is slightly taken aback by Lewis' arm around her, but she collects herself quickly. In a hushed tone, she whispers back, "Yes, there are cameras. They're hidden in various spots around the room, my father has access to the cameras from his study."
Lewis places a soft kiss on Y/n's temple and then pulls her closer, his voice a low murmur. "I know, I probably should have asked for your permission before doing that, but I thought it might help our act. For all we know, your father could be watching us on those cameras at this very moment."
Y/n can feel her heart rate increase a bit at Lewis' proximity and his reasoning behind the kiss. She glances at the hidden cameras, a hint of nervousness in her eyes. She nods subtly, understanding the necessity of keeping up the act.
The two of them maintain their close position on the couch, trying to appear as a married couple who are comfortable in each other's company. Y/n glances around discreetly, wondering how her father is handling the surveillance footage.
Just as they are about to continue their conversation, the maid re-enters the living room, carrying a tray with their drinks. She sets the tray down on the coffee table in front of the sofa, placing a glass of cold water next to Y/n and a steaming cup of tea next to Lewis.
The maid arranges the drinks on the coffee table, the sound of the glass clinking against the tray cutting through the silence in the room. She then smiles politely at them before discretely exiting the living room again, leaving Y/n and Lewis alone with their beverages.
Y/n watches the maid exit, her heart rate slightly elevated. She picks up her glass and takes a small sip of water, her mind racing with a million thoughts. The sound of Lewis' tea cup being placed back on the coffee table breaks the silence, drawing her attention back to him.
As Y/n starts to bite her nail, Lewis reaches out and gently moves her hand away from her mouth, his gaze meeting hers with reassurance. "Hey," he whispers "It's going to be okay. I'm here with you, every step of the way. We'll get through this together, alright?"
The simple act of Lewis gently stopping her from biting her nail serves as a small anchor, bringing Y/n back from the edge of her nervousness. She glances at him, his steady presence offering a small sense of comfort. She nods subtly, her eyes reflecting a mix of gratitude and anxiety.
Y/n's breathing remains somewhat labored, the anxiety still coursing through her. Lewis takes her hand in his and begins rubbing his thumb against hers, a soothing motion that seems to ease her nerves, if only a little.
As she gazes at their intertwined hands, her eyes move up to the rings and tattoos adorning Lewis' fingers. The sight of them adds another layer to their carefully crafted pretense, the evidence of her supposed marriage right there on display for anyone who looks closely enough.
Their moment is interrupted as Y/n's mother walks into the living room. Her mother's presence brings Y/n back to reality, and the nerves come rushing back. She straightens up immediately, letting go of Lewis' hand to brush off any dust on her shirt and pants.
Y/n's mother enters the living room, her eyes lighting up as she sees her daughter and Lewis sitting together on the sofa. A warm smile graces her lips as she approaches them. "Hello, you two," she greets them, her voice filled with genuine affection.
As Y/m/n approaches, Y/n rises from the sofa, her movement slightly jerky due to her nerves. She tries to force a smile, hoping to appear normal, but the tension in her body is palpable.
Lewis follows Y/n as she nods, his hand gently moving to rest on her back, a small comfort in the face of the inevitable confrontation with her father.
He extends his hand towards Y/n's mother, his demeanor is polite and friendly. "Hello, it's lovely to meet you in person," he says with a warm smile. Y/n watches the interaction, her heart thumping loudly in her chest.
The introduction occurs, Lewis offering his hand in greeting and Y/n's mother shaking it warmly. Y/n stands nearby, the sound of her own heart pounding in her ears drowning out almost everything else.
As Lewis shakes her mother's hand and exchanges greetings, Y/n's heart pounds louder in her ears. Her eyes flicker between the two, the casual interaction between her mother and Lewis standing in stark contrast to the turmoil of emotions churning within her.
Y/n watches as Lewis engages in pleasantries with her mother, and the polite exchange is a far cry from the anxiety that grips Y/n's insides. The sound of their voices and the sight of their interaction blur into the background as Y/n struggles to keep herself together.
Y/m/n gestures towards the dining room, saying, "Follow me to the dining room, please. Your father will join us in about five minutes." With a nod, Y/n and Lewis follow silently behind her, the nerves tightening in Y/n's stomach.
Lewis takes Y/n's hand again, his touch providing a source of comfort in the midst of the mounting tension. With a subtle gesture, he begins rubbing his thumb against hers, offering a silent reassurance.
The gentle, soothing motion of Lewis rubbing her thumb helps to ground Y/n, and the simple action is a small balm against the anxiety that threatens to consume her. She glances at him, silently expressing her gratitude through her eyes.
They enter the dining room, and Lewis takes a seat next to Y/n, his presence a silent comfort. Y/n sits down across from her mother, leaving her father's chair vacant. The sight of the empty chair sends a jolt of anxiety through Y/n, her palms beginning to sweat.
Y/n sits across from her mother, her eyes darting to the empty chair that her father is bound to occupy shortly. The sight of the vacant seat is a ghost of the man who is about to confront the facade they've created. Y/n's palms begin to sweat, and the nervous energy builds rapidly within her.
The silence in the dining room is nearly deafening. Y/n's mother makes small talk, but Y/n's mind is elsewhere, consumed by the impending arrival of her father. She glances again at the empty chair, the seconds ticking by like hours as they wait for him to join them.
The wait seems endless, Y/n's mother's attempts at small talk falling on deaf ears as Y/n's mind races with thoughts. Every sound seems magnified, and every breath echoes. The empty chair looms over the table like a storm cloud, its absence speaking louder than any words could.
It seems almost too well-timed. Just as the silence is about to become unbearably awkward, the butlers enter the room, gracefully serving the meals that have been prepared. The aroma of the food fills the air, but Y/n's stomach is in knots, the thought of eating almost impossible.
As they express gratitude to the butlers, Y/n's father proceeds to place food on his plate, his hands moving deftly. Still in the midst of his task, he begins to ask questions, his voice laced with authority and curiosity.
Y/n's father continues to plate his food as he asks questions, his words almost nonchalant, but his tone hinting at hidden scrutiny. "So, Lewis, how did you and Y/n meet?"
Lewis responds calmly to Y/n's father's question, his tone matter-of-fact. "We met back in 2022, during Y/n's Christmas vacation," he says. "It was a coincidence, really. We just sorta bumped into each other and started talking."
Her father nods, seemingly taking in the information, still focused on loading food onto his plate. His next question comes with a hint of intensity, "And when did you decide to get married?"
Y/n's father's question about their marriage takes her slightly off-guard. As her mind races, she accidentally drops her spoon, the metallic clatter bouncing off the walls of the quiet dining room. Her heart sinks, the unexpected question leaving her feeling even more exposed.
Y/n apologizes for the dropped spoon, her voice a bit shaky. Lewis takes over, answering her father's question calmly. "We decided to get married after being engaged for two months," he explains. "We actually got married right before the off-season started. It was quite a whirlwind, to be honest."
Y/n's mother interjects, curious about the term 'off-season.' "What do you mean by off-season?" she asks, her tone casually curious.
Lewis responds to Y/n's mother's question, his tone casually informative. "The off-season is sort of like Christmas break," he says. "It's the time of year when school is out, and everything kind of slows down for a while."
Y/n's mother nods, absorbing the explanation, and then proceeds to take a bite of her food. She seems reasonably content with the answer, her focus shifting back to her meal.
Y/n's father, seemingly unsatisfied with the previous answers, resumes asking his questions. His gaze remains fixed on a spoonful of soup, but his voice drips with a sense of authoritative interrogation.
He continues to question Lewis, his eyes focused on his bowl of soup as his voice pierces the air. "So, you're an athlete, correct?" he asks, his tone suggesting he already knows the answer.
Lewis nods in confirmation, his demeanor still poised. "Yes, I am," he answers, his response firm.
Y/n's father persists with his questions, delving into practicalities. "How are you going to provide for Y/n when you're constantly traveling and training?" he probes, his tone skeptical.
Y/n's mother chimes in, gently nudging her husband and scolding him playfully. "Darling, you're acting as if Lewis is going to be your personal assistant," she admonishes, adding a little humor to the conversation.
Lewis chuckles lightly, finding a bit of humor in the situation. Y/n, on the other hand, lets out a somewhat awkward laugh, the tension still palpable beneath the facade of casual banter.
He responds to her father's question, his tone confident. "I have a well-established career, sir," he says. "I'm well-paid, and I can certainly provide for Y/n and any future family we might have."
As Lewis mentions potentially having a family, Y/n is caught off-guard and inadvertently causes herself to cough, the water going down the wrong pipe. She quickly composes herself while both their parents look at her in concern.
While Y/n recovers from her coughing fit, Lewis gently pats her back, a look of concern etched on his face. "Are you alright?" he asks, his voice laced with genuine worry.
Y/n responds nervously, her voice a bit shaky. "Yeah, I'm fine," she reassures, trying to brush off the incident, her eyes darting between Lewis, her parents, and the water in her glass.
Y/n's mother chimes in with a question, her tone light yet curious. "So, have you two thought about how big of a family you'd like to have?" she inquires, her eyes flitting between Lewis and Y/n.
Lewis expresses his thoughts on starting a family, his voice filled with warmth and optimism. "I'd really like a big family," he admits, "maybe 2-3 kids or more, and a few pets too. But ultimately, it'll be Y/n's call since she'll be the one carrying and giving birth to the children." He smiles affectionately at her, adding, "It's her decision, and I'll support whatever she chooses."
Y/n's gaze softens, her heart warmed by Lewis's words. Despite the awkward family setting, the way he looks at her, coupled with his last statement, touches her deeply. It's a small but significant gesture, emphasizing his support and understanding, something she didn't fully anticipate.
Y/n's father nods in approval, clearly satisfied with Lewis's response. "Good man," he remarks, appreciating the thoughtfulness behind Lewis's words. "Always considerate of your wife's feelings, as you should be."
As Y/n's father praises Lewis, a sigh of relief escapes her lips. The approval from her father seems to ease some of the tension, and she shoots Lewis a grateful glance, silently expressing her relief.
Y/n's mother chimes in with a question, her tone casual but slightly concerned. "Have you two thought about moving in together soon?" she asks. "I recall Y/n mentioning she's still staying with Lyka."
Y/n responds, her voice laced with a hint of anxiety, explaining the reasons behind their decision. "We haven't moved in together yet," she begins, "due to Lewis's job. With him traveling all over the world for most of the year, it would be quite lonely for me. I have some of my stuff at his place, but we agreed that I'll stay with him when he's home and stay at my apartment with Lyka when he's away."
The explanation seems to make sense to both Y/n's parents and her father nods in understanding. He seems to comprehend the challenges that come with Lewis's job, and the reasoning behind their living arrangement makes sense in their circumstances.
The dinner gradually comes to an end, and Y/n and Lewis bid farewell to her parents. There's a sense of relief in the air, mixed with a hint of lingering tension. As they part ways, Y/n's mother gives them both a warm smile, while her father offers a firm nod.
"Thanks," she says, smiling at his gesture, appreciating the small act of chivalry. She pulls out her phone from her bag before taking a seat in the car, the soft leather of the seats molding to her body.
As Lewis closes the car door, Y/n notices Lyka's name popping up on her phone's screen. She taps on the answer button, the phone pressed to her ear. "Hello?" she says, her voice slightly weary.
Lyka's voice comes through the line, sounding a mix of anxious and excited. "H-hi," she greets, her tone bordering on the guilty, like a child trying to conceal their mischief.
Y/n listens to Lyka's nervous greeting and responds, curiosity in her voice. "What's up?" she asks, setting the phone on speaker and placing it on the dash. Just as she does so, Lewis gets into the car, and they both focus on the now-speaker conversation.
Lyka's voice, sounding a bit unsure, asks, "Are you heading home now?" The question lingers in the air, suggesting that there may be something on Lyka's mind.
Y/n shoots Lewis a glance, their eyes meeting briefly as he maneuvers the car out of the gates. She's silent for a moment, contemplating Lyka's request and the implications of staying over at Lewis's place tonight.
Y/n turns her attention to Lewis, asking the question aloud, even though he had already overheard the conversation. She takes the phone off the dashboard, holding it in her hand as she speaks, her voice quieter than before. "Lyka's asking if I can stay over at your place tonight because Lando is a bit too drunk to go home."
Lewis responds, keeping his focus on the road, his voice calm and unwavering. "Sure," he says, seeming amenable to the idea. "You can stay over at my place tonight."
She relays the response to Lyka, conveying the okay from Lewis. "Okay," she says, her voice a bit lighter now. "I can stay at Lewis's place tonight."
Lyka's voice comes through the phone, brimming with gratitude and a hint of apology. "Thank you so much," she expresses, her tone sincere. "I'm really sorry for the sudden request. We just, uhâŠ" Her voice trails off, leaving the rest unspoken.
Y/n chuckles, still on the phone with Lyka, and teases her gently. "Yeah, yeah, just make sure you take care of your 'boyfriend,'" she says, a hint of playfulness in her voice. "I'll be with Lewis."
Lyka's embarrassed screech comes through the phone, her voice full of flustered denial. "DUDE, SHUT UP!" she practically yells, her annoyance tinged with a hint of humor. "HE'S NOT MY BOYFRIEND!"
Y/n responds, a playful tone in her voice. "Yeah, yeah, whatever, Lyka," she teases. "You can tell that to the flowers he's been sending you every day." Her tone takes on a mock serious note. "Anyways, I've gotta go now."
Lyka's frustrated scream comes through the line, her voice muffled as she probably covers her face with her hands. Y/n laughs, having heard this reaction countless times over the years, knowing it's a clear sign of Lyka's embarrassment. "Bye," Lyka manages to say, her voice still tinged with flusteredness before ending the call.
Y/n looks at her phone, opening the text messages app to find the flurry of texts Lyka sent just moments ago before the call. Her eyes scan over the screen, curious to see what kind of messages her flustered best friend sent, no doubt venting about what was happening.
Lewis breaks the brief silence that had settled in the car, starting with a casual, "SoâŠ" His tone is conversational, suggesting he has something to talk about. He keeps his focus on the road, but his voice is filled with curiosity and a hint of anticipation.
Y/n sighs, her voice tinged with a mix of resignation and uncertainty. She closes her phone screen, resting it on her lap before responding. "Honestly, I'm not even sure," she admits, her tone reflecting a hint of frustration at her friends' complex relationship.
Y/n tries to explain the complicated nature of Lyka and Lando's relationship, her voice trying to convey the complexity of it all. "They're more than friends, but less than lovers," she clarifies, her tone thoughtful. "It's a bit confusing, really. They're stuck somewhere in between."
Lewis chuckles, reflecting on the implications of the "stuck in between" situation. He offers a playful observation. "Well, that could go one of two ways, right?" he muses. "Either it's really good, or really bad."
Y/n smirks, agreeing with Lewis's assessment. "Yeah, you're right," she concedes, her voice hinting at the complexities of Lyka and Lando's dynamics. "It's either going to work out amazingly or explode in their faces."
The car falls back into a moment of silence, the low hum of the engine filling the space. Lewis keeps driving, his focus on the road, his mind likely contemplating the complexities of relationships and the uncertainty of the future.
Y/n breaks the silence again, her voice carrying a hint of hesitation. "UhâŠ" she begins, her tone a bit uncertain, but there's a question lingering behind it.
Y/n's voice softens with gratitude as she addresses Lewis, her tone sincere. "Thanks," she says, her appreciation evident. "For, you know, not making a big deal about me staying over."
Y/n's voice takes on a more grateful tone, her appreciation clear. "And thank you for saving my ass at the dinner," she says, a hint of relief in her voice. "I really appreciate you having my back."
Lewis responds with a warm smile, his tone easy and hospitable. "It's no problem, sweetheart," he says. "You're always welcome at my place, even when I'm not around. I'll give you a key soon so you can come and go as you please."
Y/n turns her head swiftly, her gaze now locked on him. She repeats his term of endearment, "Sweetheart?" Her voice is tinged with a hint of surprise, her head slightly tilted to the side as she processes the familiarity of the word coming from his lips.
Lewis's eyes widen momentarily upon hearing her question, clearly surprised by the inquiry. He quickly recovers and responds, his tone questioning yet gentle, "Oh, is it okay if I call you that?" His voice carries a note of concern, clearly wanting to ensure he hasn't crossed any boundaries.
She lets out a soft laugh, the tension easing away. "Yeah, it's fine," she assures him, her tone tinged with a hint of amusement. "It's actually better that way. I won't be caught off guard when you call me that in public. It'll make our act more believable for the press."
Lewis nods, the concern in his eyes replaced by a hint of relief and a touch of playfulness. "That's true," he agrees, a hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "It'll make it more convincing when we're around people. Plus, it's kind of niceâŠ" His voice trails off, a slight implication behind his words.
A smile dances on Y/nâs lips, and she decides to tease him a bit. âOh really? I feel like you have a big crush on me Sir Lewis,â she asks, feigning surprise, her tone lighthearted. Her eyes glimmer with playfulness, expecting him to respond with a playful banter.
His voice takes on a playfully challenging tone as he responds to Y/nâs teasing question. âAnd what if I do?â he says, his eyes briefly meeting hers before turning back to the road. âWhat would you do about it?â Thereâs a hint of a challenge in his tone but also a flicker of genuine curiosity, as if heâs eager to see how she would react if her teasing was based on truth.
Y/n responds with confidence, her eyes locked into his. âOh, I have a few ideas,â she says, her tone dripping with a hint of mystery. Her voice drops lower, filled with playful tease, as if sheâs already planning something.
Lewis raises an eyebrow, his interest piqued by Y/nâs response. He canât help but wonder what kind of ideas she has in mind. âOh yeah? And what ideas do you have in that pretty mind of yours, sweetheart?â he asks, a smile playing on his lips.
Her smile widens, her eyes glimmering mischievously. She remains coy, not revealing too much. âOh, I canât give away all my secrets,â she teases, her voice playful. âYouâll have to wait and find out.â
Lewis chuckles, enjoying the banter between them. "Fair enough," he responds, his tone playful. "I guess I'll just have to wait and see what you have up your sleeve, sweetheart."
Y/n smirks at the term of endearment, the name rolling off his tongue with a familiar ease. "Oh, you'll see," she teases back, her voice filled with confidence. "I promise it'll be worth the wait."
Lewis brings the car into the parking lot of the condominium building, the wheels smoothly coming to a stop. He turns off the engine, the sound of the vehicle falling silent as he shifts his gaze over to Y/n sitting next to him.
"We're here," he announces, his tone casual. He unbuckles his seatbelt and glances over at Y/n. "Ready to head inside?"
Y/n nods, the teasing banter settling into a comfortable quiet. She unbuckles her own seatbelt and prepares to get out of the car. "Yeah, let's go."
Lewis opens the car door and steps out, stretching briefly before closing the door behind him. He then walks over to Y/n's side and opens the passenger door for her, offering his hand to help her out of the car.
She smiles appreciatively, taking his hand and stepping out of the car. "Thank you," she says, her voice tinged with gratefulness. She then follows him as they head towards the entrance of the condominium building.
As they walk into Lewis's penthouse, the faint sound of a low thumping becomes perceptible. Y/n glances around, trying to pinpoint the source of the noise. She looks over at Lewis, a quizzical expression on her face, silently asking if he hears it too.
Lewis catches Y/n's curious look and can't help but smile to himself, fully aware of what's about to occur. He says nothing for a moment, amused by the fact that she hasn't figured it out yet.
Out of nowhere, a chubby bulldog appears, sprinting toward Lewis with excitement. Its short, muscular legs carry it swiftly across the floor, its paws creating a thumping sound as they hit the ground. The bulldog clearly recognizes its owner and makes a beeline straight for him, tail wagging joyfully.
Lewis crouches down to meet Roscoe, his face breaking into a wide smile as the dog happily rolls onto his belly, begging for some attention. Lewis laughs and begins to scratch the dog's belly, his fingers rubbing the animal's belly fur affectionately.
"Hey, buddy," Lewis coos affectionately, his voice filled with warmth as he speaks to Roscoe. "Did you miss me?" The bulldog responds with a slobbery grin and continues to wiggle his short, stub tail on the floor in bliss.
Roscoe looks up at Lewis with big, soulful eyes, his tongue hanging out, clearly thrilled to be in the presence of his owner. He playfully licks Lewis's hand, expressing his happiness in the only way he knows how.
Roscoe, in the middle of his display of excitement towards Lewis, suddenly halts, his furry head tilting to the side as he notices Y/n's presence. His wide eyes focus on her, his gaze inquisitive and a little cautious, as if wondering who this new person in his home is.
Y/n stands there, a mix of surprise and uncertainty on her face, not quite knowing how to greet the curious bulldog. She looks over at Lewis, silently seeking some guidance on how to approach his pet.
He notices the change in Roscoe's behavior and the puzzled look on Y/n's face. He stands up and gestures for her to come closer, a reassuring smile on his face. "It's okay," he says, his tone comforting. "He's just curious. Come closer."
Y/n steps closer, her nerves palpable as she admits to Lewis that she isn't particularly fond of dogs. "Um, is this a good time to say I'm not really a dog person?" she mumbles, her voice tinged with slight unease.
Lewis chuckles, a mix of amusement and understanding in his eyes. He glances down at Roscoe, who is still sitting and watching Y/n intently. "Oh, really? Well, that might be a problem," he teases jokingly.
She cautiously moves closer and gives Roscoe a tentative pat on the head, her touch light and tentative. The bulldog responds by closing his eyes in the pleasure of the unexpected attention, his stumpy tail wagging once again as he basks in the affection.
Lewis watches the interaction and smiles, finding the scene amusing yet endearing. "See?" he says, his voice encouraging. "He likes you already."
He stands up, motioning for Y/n to follow him into the kitchen. "C'mon," he says, gesturing towards the kitchen. "I'll grab us some drinks."
Y/n follows Lewis into the kitchen, her face transforming into a surprised smile as she asks a question. "Why do we need drinks?" There's a hint of curiosity in her voice, as if she's secretly hoping for a particular reason.
Lewis uncorks the bottle, taking out two wine glasses from the overhead cabinet. As he pours the wine into the glasses, he glances over at Y/n, his eyes holding a playful twinkle. "Besides," he says, a sly smile on his lips, "we need to celebrate our marriage properly, don't we?"
He passes a wine glass to her, his fingertips lightly brushing against hers for a moment as he does so. The atmosphere in the kitchen suddenly feels a tad heated as the implications of his words hang in the air between them.
Y/n takes the offered glass, her heart skipping a beat as their fingers touch briefly. The look in his eyes and the undercurrent of flirtation in his tone are hard to ignore. The words "we need to celebrate our marriage properly" echo in her head, causing a flutter of anticipation in her stomach.
Lewis pours himself a glass of wine, then pours another for Y/n as she settles into her seat. He moves around the counter, the wine glass in his hand, and takes a seat next to her. The silence is comfortable, but the air is charged with a simmering tension, the earlier flirtation not yet faded.
Y/n holds up her wine glass, lifting it slightly in his direction. "Cheers," she says, her voice carrying a note of excitement. The clinking sound of their glasses meeting fills the air, the act oddly intimate and charged with unspoken desires.
Their eyes meet over the rims of their glasses, the moment charged with a mix of tension and anticipation. Y/n takes a sip of her wine, the liquid smooth and cool as it touches her lips, but it's the man sitting next to her that leaves her feeling flushed and warm.
Time has passed, and the wine has taken its toll. Both Y/n and Lewis are visibly tipsy, their cheeks flushed and their inhibitions lowered. She finds herself in a slightly drunken state, her speech more slurry than Lewis's. They're exchanging stories, the wine loosening their tongues and making them more susceptible to sharing their secrets and embarrassing anecdotes.
Y/n continues her story, her voice a bit slurry from the wine but filled with amusement. "So, there I was, planning to go grocery shopping, right? But then Lyka calls and invites me out for drinks. And well, as you can imagine, one drink turns into several, and the next thing I know, it's been three hours. I completely forgot about the grocery shopping. Then, instead of coming home with actual groceries, I end up bringing home this stray white cat I found. And thus, my cat Extra Virgin Olive Oil was born."
Lewis can't help but chuckle lightly as he listens to Y/n's story, finding it both absurd and endearing. He leans his face against his palm, his elbow propped up on the counter, his eyes sparkling with tipsy amusement. He glances at her, a lazy smile playing on his lips. "You named your cat what?" he asks, his voice tinged with playful disbelief.
His laughter continues, the image of Y/n coming home with a cat instead of groceries amusing him more than it probably should in his current state of drunkenness. "You named your cat Extra Virgin Olive Oil because you forgot about grocery shopping and got drunk instead?" he asks, grinning widely, clearly finding the situation hilarious.
Y/n grins widely, nodding enthusiastically in affirmation. "Yep, that's right," she says, her voice filled with tipsy mirth. "Extra Virgin Olive Oil. And let me tell you, he's the most spoiled cat ever. All because I couldn't stick to my grocery shopping plans."
She feels a sudden brush of fur against her leg, her gaze dropping down. But before she can even react, Roscoe takes off like a shot, darting away with one of her high heels clenched in his mouth. Y/n's eyes widen, and a tipsy laugh escapes her lips.
Y/n jumps out of her seat, a tipsy grin on her face. "Roscoe!" she yells, giggling as she tries to catch the dog who's now prancing away with her high heel. Lewis watches the scene unfold, his laughter joining hers, finding the whole situation hilariously adorable.
Y/n's pursuit of Roscoe continues, her steps a bit unsteady from the alcohol. She tries to catch him, but her foot catches on the edge of the rug, her already tipsy balance getting the better of her. She trips over, her body stumbling forward, a yelp of surprise escaping her.
Lewis sees Y/n's fall, her carefree chase after the dog abruptly interrupted by her slip on the rug. He gets up from his seat, a slight worry crossing his face. But before he can make a move, Y/n raises an arm up from the floor, and yells out, "I'm okay!" Her voice is slightly slurred but there's a sense of pride in her tone, as if she's proud of her resilient demeanor despite her tipsy state.
As she stands up with a wide smile on her face, she doesn't realize the small cut on her elbow until Lewis points it out. Y/n glances down, noticing the slight trickle of blood on her arm. She touches the spot, a little surprised, but the alcohol has numbed the pain, giving her a false sense of invincibility. She giggles, looking at the cut with amused detachment.
Despite her stumble and the small cut on her elbow, Y/n's demeanor remains carefree, her eyes blinking in a slightly confused manner. The alcohol has dulled her senses, so pain feels distant and the reality of the fall hasn't quite registered in her mind yet. She looks up at Lewis, a slightly bewildered expression on her face as if she's not quite sure how she ended up on the floor in the first place.
Lewis lets out a small, playful exhale and saunters over to Y/n, gesturing for her to sit on the couch. "Alright, come on, sit down," he instructs, his voice laced with a hint of amused frustration. He guides her over to the couch, steadying her a bit as she clumsily flops down onto the cushions.
He turns away, giving her a warm smile, and says, "Okay, sit tight. I'll be right back. I'll get a bandage for that cut on your elbow." He strides out of the room, leaving Y/n slumped on the couch, a little drunk and a bit bewildered.
Y/n lounges on the couch in a slightly disheveled manner, her body stretched out like a starfish. She looks like a ragdoll, her limbs flung about in a completely comfortable yet chaotic way. The alcohol has made her feel relaxed and carefree, completely unbothered by the fact that she's lying haphazardly on the couch, waiting for Lewis to return with a bandage for her now-forgotten cut.
After 5 minutes, Lewis enters the room carrying a small first-aid kit. He looks over at Y/n, noticing that she's a bit more composed compared to a few moments ago. The alcohol's effect seems to have subsided a bit, perhaps due to the short break in time. He walks over to her, sitting down on the couch next to her, the first-aid Kit in his hand.
"Seems like you're getting a bit more sober now," he observes, his tone gentle as he opens the first-aid kit. He takes out an antiseptic wipe and a small adhesive bandage, preparing to clean and cover the cut on her elbow.
"Hold still for a moment," he says, his voice soft. He gently takes her arm and begins cleaning the wound with the antiseptic wipe. The cool touch of the solution stings a little, but he's careful not to cause her any unnecessary pain.
Y/n winces a bit as the antiseptic wipe touches the cut, a small "ow" escaping her lips. The alcohol has numbed her a bit, but the sting of the antiseptic still registers. She looks at her arm, watching as Lewis carefully cleans the cut, his touch light yet deliberate.
"It's alright," he soothes, his tone gentle. "I'm almost done." He continues to clean the cut, making sure it's free of any dirt or debris before gently placing the bandaid over the cut. His touch is light and careful, his fingers grazing the soft skin of her arm.
Once the bandaid is placed, he gently pats the area around the cut, securing it in place. He then releases her arm, his touch lingering for a moment longer than necessary. He looks up at her, a small, reassuring smile on his lips.
Y/n gazes at Lewis, her eyes studying his face intently. She takes in every detail - the curve of his lips, the flecks of gold in his eyes, the slight stubble on his chin. The alcohol still in her system has lowered her inhibitions, making her bolder and more observant. She continues to stare at him, not saying a word.
Lewis notices Y/n's unwavering gaze, her eyes taking in every feature of his face. He raises an eyebrow, a hint of curiosity in his expression. Seeing her silent observation, he jokingly asks, "Got something on my face?" His voice is light, and his words are filled with humor.
Y/n shakes her head, continuing her silent observation, her gaze still fixated on his features. And then, in a surprising move, she leans forward, her lips brushing against his in a soft, slow kiss. The alcohol in her system lowers her inhibitions, making her actions more impulsive and carefree. The kiss is unexpected but filled with an undercurrent of desire and affection.
Lewis is taken aback for a moment, caught off guard by her unexpected kiss. But then, he relaxes into it, his eyes closing as he responds to her contact. His hand comes up to cup the back of her head, his fingers lightly brushing through her hair. The kiss deepens, the alcohol in their systems making it heady and impulsive.
Y/n, emboldened by the alcohol and the heat of the moment, makes another bold move. Without breaking the kiss, she shifts her position, straddling his lap, a leg on either side of him. Her body presses against his, her hands on his shoulders, pulling him closer as she continues kissing him, her actions driven by a combination of intoxication and desire.
She suddenly pulls away from the kiss, the reality of her actions sinking in. Her blush spreads across her face, a mixture of embarrassment and desire filling her. She looks at him, her eyes wide, her breathing slightly ragged from the intensity of the kiss. The alcohol in her system has lowered her inhibitions, making her bolder and more impetuous, but she still feels a mix of shyness and confusion at her own behavior.
Lewis looks at Y/n, a hint of confusion and surprise in his eyes. He gently cups her face with his hand, his thumb tracing the contour of her cheek. He asks her softly, "Why did you stop?" His voice is a mix of curiosity and tenderness, his gaze holding hers as he waits for her response.
Despite the buzz of alcohol in her system, Y/n hesitates, her actions and her desires at war within her. The kiss had been spontaneous, driven by a heady mixture of alcohol and desire, but now she feels a sense of self-consciousness and insecurity. Her blush deepens under his touch, and she looks into his eyes, trying to find the words to explain her sudden break in their intimate moment.
"IâŠI don't know," she stutters out, her voice small and unsure. "It's justâŠI don't knowâŠ" Her gaze flickers away from his, unable to hold his intense, questioning stare. The alcohol and the heat of the moment have made her impulsive, but now she feels exposed, vulnerable in her straddling position, her guard faltering under his soft but insistent touch.
Lewis gives her a reassuring smile, his hand still cupping her face. Seeing her hesitant, he gently draws her back towards him, his other hand coming up to rest on her hip. He pulls her down, bringing her face closer to his, and kisses her again, his lips pressing against hers with a soft but determined pressure. The kiss is slow, tender, and deliberate, his tongue slipping out to caress her lower lip, seeking more.
With a swift movement, Lewis stands up, still not breaking the kiss, his hands holding onto Y/n's thighs to keep her stable. The shift in positioning causes her to tighten her arms around his neck, and their bodies press even closer together. Lewis's grip is firm but gentle, his strength evident as he holds her up with ease, the kiss continuing unhindered.
He walks with purpose towards the bedroom door, his strength and balance holding Y/n securely in his arms. In a move that seems completely effortless, he keeps one hand on her thigh, supporting her weight, while his other free hand reaches out, unlocks the door, and swings it open. He strides across the threshold, carrying her into the room, the kiss never once breaking.
Inside the bedroom, he kicks the door closed behind them, shutting out the rest of the world. The only sounds filling the room are the soft gasps and sighs exchanged between them as the kiss deepens, fueled by a heady mixture of desire and alcohol. Lewis shifts his grip slightly, his hand sliding from her thigh to her waist, holding her steadily as he guides her towards the bed.
Lewis gently sets Y/n down on her feet, helping her regain her balance. Then, with a soft yet firm pressure on her shoulders, he eases her backward until she sits on the edge of the bed. He stands in front of her, his body looming over hers in a way that is both dominant and protective. He looks down at her, his gaze darkened with desire, his breathing slightly heavy.
With a subtle but deliberate action, Lewis's hand moves up to Y/n's neck, his fingers wrapping around the delicate skin in a light but firm grip. He squeezes gently, not enough to cut off her air, but enough to assert a sense of control and possessiveness. The kiss that follows is quick, fierce, and possessive, his tongue invading her mouth in a dominant, needy manner.
Y/n whimpers into the kiss, the sound caught between a protest and a moan of pleasure. Lewis's dominant grip on her neck, the way he claims her mouth in a possessive kiss, fuels the fire within her. Her hands come up to cling to his shoulders, the mixture of pleasure and submission washing over her in waves.
Too caught up in the intensity of the moment, she grips the loops of Lewis's pants, her fingers hooking onto them as if anchoring herself. The action is both needy and desperate, a silent plea for more as she looks up at him, her eyes burning with desire and anticipation.
Lewis glances down at Y/n, noticing her fingers gripping his pant loops, a small, amused smile playing on his lips. Teasingly, he leans down, his face close to hers, and whispers, "So needy, aren't you?" His voice is a low, gravelly murmur, his words carrying a hint of possessive satisfaction.
She looks up at Lewis with wide, innocent, doe-like eyes, her expression a mixture of need and submission. She doesn't respond, her voice caught in her throat, but her grip on his pant loops tightens just a fraction, her body silently begging for more. The contrast between her innocent gaze and her needy actions is striking, and the heat in her eyes speaks volumes.
Lewis continues to look down at her, his eyes taking in her beautiful, vulnerable expression. He reaches out a hand, tracing the line of her neck with his fingers, but the touch light is barely there. He can hear her soft, ragged breaths, can feel her pulse quickening under his touch, and his own need, his own desire, increases exponentially.
He leans in, his lips moving to her ear, his breath against her skin as he whispers, "You're so gorgeous like this, so needy for me." He kisses her ear, his lips moving down to her jaw, leaving a trail of soft, hot kisses down the delicate curve of her neck.
Lewis continues to kiss along her neck, his mouth nipping and sucking gently at her skin, his tongue darting out to taste her sweetness. His hands slide down her body, caressing her sides, his touch both tender and possessive, his own need growing with every soft sound that escapes her lips.
He bites gently at her pulse point, a small, possessive act that makes her gasp and whine softly. His hands move to the hem of her shirt, his fingers tracing the line of exposed skin, his touch both gentle and firm. "I want you," he whispers against her skin, his voice rough and full of desire, "so badly."
His hands slide underneath her shirt, his palms pressing against her skin, feeling her warmth and softness against his touch. He feels her shiver at the contact, her body responding to his touch like a perfectly tuned instrument. He kisses her collarbone, his mouth moving down to the hollow of her throat, his lips trailing along her skin with increasing need.
His hands move higher, his fingers tracing the contour of her stomach, her ribcage, her breasts. He feels her arch into his touch, her body craving more contact, more of his touch, his caress, his attention. He can feel her need, her desire, the way her breath hitches at his touch, and it only fuels his own fire, his own burning need for her.
Lewis pushes her gently back onto the bed, his body hovering over her, his weight propped up on his forearms. He looks down at her, his eyes roaming over her face, her body, taking in the sight of her beneath him, soft and yielding, yet filled with an undeniable fire and desire.
His fingers move to the buttons of her shirt, his touch slow and deliberate as he unfastens them one by one, revealing her bare skin inch by inch, his lips following the path of his fingers, leaving a trail of hot, open-mouthed kisses along her skin.
Y/n's breathing becomes ragged as Lewis' hands reach the last button, freeing her breasts from the confines of her shirt. She pushes the fabric off her shoulders, tossing it aside, her nipples hard and aching for his touch.
Lewis' hands cup her breasts, his thumbs teasing her sensitive nipples. Y/n moans, her head falling back as she arches into his touch. Her hands roam over his body, unbuckling his belt and unzipping his pants.
She slides her hand inside, gripping his erection through his boxers. Lewis groans, his hips bucking into her hand. Y/n pulls him closer, their lips meeting in a rushed kiss as she fumbles with his boxers, freeing his hard cock.
She strokes him slowly, her thumb rubbing over the head, making him moan into her mouth. Lewi's hands leave her breasts, training down her sides to her waistband. He hooks his thumbs into her pants, pulling them down her legs, leaving her completely naked.
Y/n steps out of her pants, her body trembling with desire. Lewis' eyes roam over her, drinking in the sight of her before he pulls her back against him. He reaches around, unfastening his braided belt, letting it fall to the floor.
He pushes her onto the bed, following her down, his lips trailing kisses down her neck, his hand guiding his cock to her entrance. Y/n's breath hitches, her legs parting, welcoming him.
Lewis positions himself at her entrance, his eyes locked on hers, filled with lust and desire. He pushes inside her, slowly at first, allowing her body to adjust to his size. Y/n gasps, her nails digging into the sheets as he fills her completely.
Y/n bites her lip, her eyes widening as she feels the full extent of Lewis' size. "Fuck, you're huge," she hisses, a mixture of pain and pleasure coursing through her.
Lewis smirks, his hands gripping her hips as he begins to thrust, his rhythm slow and deliberate. "Like it sweetheart?" he growls, his voice deep and seductive.
Y/n nods, her eyes fluttering shut as she adjusts to his size. "Yeah, I... I love it," she admits, her voice breathy and needy.
Lewis grins, his hand sliding around Y/n's neck, applying gentle pressure. "Good," he murmurs, his thrusts growing faster and more forceful.
Y/n's eyes widen at the added sensation, her body arching off the bed as her arousal intensifies. "Lewis," she whispers, her nails digging into his back, "don't stop."
He doesn't, his thrusts becoming more aggressive, his hand tightening around her neck just enough to heighten her arousal. Y/n's moans grow louder, her body trembling in anticipation of her impending orgasm.
Y/n's voice is barely a whisper as she gasps, "I'm... I'm close, Lewis."
Lewis, however, is lost in the sensations, his focus solely on the feel of Y/n's tight, wet pussy wrapped around his cock. He continues to thrust, his hand still tightly around her neck, his body moving in perfect unison with hers.
Y/n's orgasm hits her like a tidal wave, her body convulsing as she cries out, her nails digging into Lewis' bicep. Her walls clench around his cock, milking him as he continues to thrust.
Lewis' thrusts grow more erratic, his grip on Y/n's neck tightening as he feels her orgasm grip his cock. Her shaking only serves to fuel his desire, his release drawing near.
He pulls out of her, Y/n's protest cut off by the loss of his cock. He positions himself at her entrance once more, his cock glistening with her juices. "On your knees, sweetheart," he commands, his voice thick with lust.
Y/n obeys, her body still trembling as she gets onto her hands and knees. Lewis lines up his cock with her wet pussy, thrusting back inside her, this time from behind.
His hand leaves her neck, instead gripping her hair, pulling her head back as he begins fuck her with renewed vigor. Y/n's moans fill the room, her body responding to her every thrust,
Lewis' thrusts become more rushed, his breathing heavy. "You're such a good girl, taking my big cock like that," he praises, his voice thick with desire.
Y/n's body shudders, her arousal building once more as she feels him fill her from behind. "Mmm, Lewis," she moans, her voice thick with lust.
Lewis' hand tightens in her hair, his thrusts growing more urgent. "Cum for me, sweetheart. Cum for me one more time," he says, voice a mixture of command and desire.
Y/n's body responds to his words, her orgasm building once more. "I... I'm close," she gasps, her nails digging into the bedsheets.
Lewis feels his own release building, his thrusts becoming more erratic. "Come for me," he demands, his cock pulsing inside her.
Y/n's body convulses, her orgasm washing over her like a tidal wave. Lewis can no longer hold back, his cock pulsing as he releases his hot seed deep inside her. He collapses onto her back, his breathing heavy as he tries to regain his composure.
Her body shudders, her mind swimming in the aftermath of her orgasm. Lewis slowly pulls out of her, his cock leaving a trail of cum between her legs. He rolls off her, pulling her into his arms, their bodies entwined.
They lie there, their bodies intertwined in the aftermath of their passionate encounter. Both are out of breath, their hearts still racing from the intensity of the experience. Lewis is holding Y/n close, her head resting on his chest, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on her back. The room is quiet, the only sound being their ragged breathing, the sound gradually slowing and evening out as they regain their composure.
Y/n breaks the silence, her voice a bit hoarse but weary. She looks up at Lewis, her head still pillowed on his chest, and says, "That sobered me up real fast." Her words are a mixture of exhaustion and satiation, the aftermath of their passionate encounter leaving her both depleted and fulfilled.
Lewis gives a soft laugh, his fingers still tracing patterns on her back. He nods, agreeing with her words. "I guess that's one way to sober up," he replies, his voice still a little breathless. He gently brushes a stray strand of hair from her face, his touch soft and affectionate.
Y/n jokes, a weary but playful smile on her face. "Well," she says, "that was like our very own little honeymoon night, wasn't it?" Her comment, although lighthearted, carries a hint of seriousness, a nod to the intense and passionate connection they had just shared.
Lewis chuckles softly, a smile on his lips. He gently pulls her closer, his arms tightening around her. "I guess you could say that," he responds, his voice warm and gentle. "We definitely made some memories tonight." He looks down at her, his gaze filled with tenderness and affection.
Y/n hisses as she adjusts her position, a slight wince on her face. Her body is likely still sensitive from their passionate encounter, and she moves gingerly, trying to find a more comfortable position.
Lewis notices her hiss and the wince on her face, his expression immediately becoming one of concern. He asks her gently, "Are you okay? Did I hurt you?" His voice is laced with worry and concern, his fingers lightly coming up to caress her cheek.
Y/n shakes her head, her eyes meeting his. "No, I'm alright," she reassures him. "Just a little sore, I guess. But it was worth it," she adds with a sleepy smile.
Lewis continues to look at her, his eyes searching her face for any signs of discomfort. He asks again, his voice filled with concern, "Are you sure you're alright? Soreness is normal, but I don't want to hurt you." He gently tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, his touch tender and caring.
Y/n nods, a small smile on her face, and jokingly says, "Well, I guess there's an easy fix for that. Just take me out on a shopping spree, and I'll feel like a million bucks again." Her tone is light and humorous, indicating that she's not entirely serious but also hinting at her desire for some pampering and shopping therapy.
Without hesitation, Lewis reaches for the nightstand near the bed and grabs his wallet. He opens it and pulls out a credit card, then hands it to Y/n with a smile. "There," he says, his voice lighthearted, "your ticket to feeling a million bucks. Go wild."
Y/n's eyes widened as she took his credit card. She playfully gasps, a mischievous smile on her face. "Are you serious? You're giving me carte blanche with this?" she says, holding the card up and examining it like it's a precious gem.
Lewis nods, a smirk on his face. "Dead serious," he confirms, leaning back against the headboard. "Go nuts. Buy whatever you want, and don't hold back. It's on me."
Y/n places the credit card on the nightstand, her smile playful. "Oh, it can definitely wait till tomorrow," she says. "I think we should both rest and recover from tonight's⊠activities." Her tone is teasing, her eyes sparkling with a mixture of exhaustion and satisfaction.
Lewis chuckles, a knowing smile on his face. "I agree," he replies, his voice deep and gravelly. "We definitely need some rest after tonight. But tomorrowâŠtomorrow is all yours. Shopping sprees, pampering, the works. I can't have you sore for too long, can I?"
Y/n smirks at his words, her eyes narrowing mischievously. "You know, you might be starting to regret giving me that credit card already," she teases. "You're creating a little monster here."
Lewis laughs heartily. "Oh, I'm fully aware of the monster I'm creating," he replies, still sporting a smile. "But honestly, I find it kind of hot. The thought of you going on a shopping spree, spending my money without a care in the world⊠it's strangely alluring."
Y/n teases, a mischievous grin on her face. "Oh, don't worry, I plan on getting something for you too," she says. "After all, a good shopping spree isn't complete without a little gift for the guy who's footing the bill."
Lewis pulls her back towards him, drawing her close against his chest. He settles back against the pillows, his arm wrapping around her in a protective, comforting embrace. Y/n's head rests against his chest, her body tucked snugly against his, and he gently kisses the top of her head. "Sweet dreams," he whispers, his voice soft and affectionate.

I received a request quite a while ago for a fluffy, sweet one-shot where Five befriends a single mom. Hope you like a super soft Five, cause that's what this is! â€ïž
Five listened to the sound of happy children playing and screaming, along with the quiet hum of distant traffic and the crunch of bike tires as they rolled across the gravel pathways of his favorite city park. He found his usual bench, brushing off a few fallen leaves before easing himself onto it with the groan of someone years older than he looked. As soon as he was situated, he glanced around and waited. It never took long before they found him. Sure enough, less than 30 seconds later, the gang of neâer-do-wells showed up out of nowhere.
Fiveâs bird friends consisted mostly of some mangy looking pigeons, a few brown sparrows, and one particularly ornery blue jay. They knew him by sight and would flock at his feet whenever he came to visit. As they gathered around, cooing, chirping and hopping excitedly, Five smiled down at them.
âHi, guys,â he said quietly. âHowâve you been? Staying out of trouble?â
As usual, he received no real response, but more flitters and flapping of wings. That was ok, though. He didnât mind the one-sided conversations.
Pulling a small bag of bird seed out of his inside coat pocket, he continued talking.
âSorry I missed you yesterday.â He sprinkled a handful of the seed on the ground and watched as the excitement of the crew intensified. âKlaus needed a ride to the dentist. He said to say hi.â
Five watched the intricate dance of bird hierarchy unraveling before him. He already knew their order of rank and which bird was going to get the majority of the feast while the others waited their turns.
âWren FranklinâŠbe nice. Bernice isnât taking your share, Jack Sparrow, so quit your squawking.â
He threw another handful on the ground. âTrucker Bob, itâs ok buddyâŠyou get on in there, they arenât going to hurt you.â Five suddenly stomped his foot at the blue jay, causing everyone to scatter for a brief moment before scurrying back again. âSandra Jay OâConnor, I saw that! If I see you peck at poor Mr. Tippington again, you will be banned for a month!â
As Five cursed the blue jay while cooing soft words of encouragement to a small and plain-looking brown bird, he heard a quiet giggle nearby. Sensing it was aimed in his direction, he looked up. On the next bench over, he saw you. Your eyes sparkled as you tried to stifle your laugh. You looked abruptly away as soon as Five glanced at you.
Five smiled softly to himself. He knew he looked and sounded like a crazy person. But he sensed you werenât making fun of him, just that you were amused.
âYou laugh, but Iâve seen that bird fly right onto a manâs head and fly off with his toupee purely for spite. Granted, she was probably doing him a favor because it was god awful, but still.â
You looked at Five and laughed shyly again before shaking your head. âI had no idea bird crime was so rampant in this city.â
âOh, yes,â Five nodded solemnly. âIn fact, I advise you to stay away from the park at night. You might find yourself in the middle of a fly-by shooting. Lots of bird gang violence around here.â
âIs that so? Well, thank you for the heads up,â you said with a smile. Just then, your 5 year-old daughter ran up, out of breath. You handed her a bottle of water. âReady to go, sweetie?â
The little girl nodded while taking a sip. âYep.â
You got up and started to walk away, taking your daughterâs hand in yours. You stopped and looked back at Five, who was still watching you. âHave a nice afternoon with your friends there, and I hope Mr. Tippington is ok.â
Five grinned widely. âThank you, and heâll be just fine.â
You nodded with a smile and turned to leave. Five watched you go, ignoring the fact that his feathered friends were now clearly irritated that their benefactor had yet to give them their full ration of seed for the day.
Two days later, and Five was back on his favorite bench. As he was in the middle of another inciteful, one-way conversation with his buddies on the ground, he heard a familiar voice from behind.
âGo along and play, Cassie, Iâll watch you from here.â
When Five turned, he saw you standing there. Your eyes sparkled in the sunlight just like the first time he saw you.
âSo, do these birds do anything for you in return for you feeding them? Like bringing you gifts, or doing your taxes?â you teased.
Five chuckled. âNo. They just let me talk their ears off while they eat.â
âHuh. Do birds have ears?â
Five shrugged. âYou know, Iâm not sure. Maybe thatâs why they donât care that Iâm talking at them.â
You laughed and gestured to the empty side of Fiveâs bench. âDo you mind?â
âNot at all.â
As Five moved over to make more room for you, you introduced yourself with a handshake.
âNice to meet you. Five Hargreeves,â he said.
âHargreeves? Why does that name sound familiar?â you asked, tilting your head.
Five sighed quietly. He really wondered why he hadnât just picked another name by now. It would make things so much easier.
âDoes The Umbrella Academy ring any bells?â
You were thoughtful for a second and then the lightbulb went on. âYouâre kidding! You wereâŠareâŠone of them?â
Five nodded. âSure am. Good old Number Five.â
âI see,â you responded with a smile as you looked him up and down. âSo, which one were you? I mean, what can you do?â
âTeleportation. Time travel.â He paused. âPigeon summoning.â
You laughed. âVery cool. I can see your very impressive pigeon power in action now, but youâll have to show me the others sometime.â
Five smiled. âSure thing.â
You nodded. âOk, Number Five. So, Iâve seen you around the park here a lot. Are you here with your kids, too?â
Five felt called out and a faint blush appeared on his cheeks. âUh, no. No kids.â He was really hoping you didnât think he was some creeper hanging out at the park for less innocent reasons. âDonât worry, though. I just like to come here and feed these guys,â he explained, gesturing to the birds on the ground. âItâs like therapy but without the judgment and bill at the end.â
You looked dubious for just a moment, glancing over at the play structure where your daughter was swinging happily. But when you turned to face Five again, you relaxed. You glanced down at the birds. âThey certainly seem to like you.â
Five shrugged. âI think they just view me as a human vending machine.â He held out the bag of seed towards you. âWant to be the hero?â
You nodded and reached into the bag, scooping up some seed and tossing it on the ground. The birds went crazy, tweeting and flapping their wings, making you laugh. Five grinned.
âSee? They have no loyalty.â
âI see that. But you have names for them all?â
âAh, wellâŠsome of them. At least the usual ones that come around. Itâs rather interesting to observe their little avian society.â Five stopped, realizing that he sounded like a weirdo. âIâm sorry. Iâm not a complete lunatic, I promise.â
You laughed, and once again Five could tell you werenât making fun of him. You seemed genuinely charmed by him. You also had a very calming presence, he noticed. He didnât feel awkward or on edge when talking with you, which was a refreshing change of pace these days.
âI donât think youâre a lunatic. Believe me, I can spot them from a mile away and youâre not one.â
âWell, Iâm glad to hear that.â
You jumped when you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket from an incoming call. You held it up to Five with an exasperated sigh. âSorry, I have to take this. Itâs my ex and heâs supposed to take our daughter this weekend, so I have to figure out the details.â
He nodded. âOf course.â
As you turned to walk away for more privacy, Five took a look over at the playground. He saw the little girl you had called Cassie, climbing up the ladder to the monkey bars. She was small and Five watched as she got to the top rung, hesitantly reaching out for the first bar to cross. As she swung out, Five could see she wasnât truly comfortable with what she was doing, and the ground was pretty far below. He stood up, looking over at you, but your back was turned as you were trying to focus on the call. When he turned back to the girl, he saw it start to happen like it was in slow motion. On the second bar, one of her hands started to slip, leaving her dangling by a few fingers. She let out a scream that got your attention, but it was too late.
Just as your daughter lost her grip with her remaining hand and began to fall to the ground, Five blinked directly under her, catching her just in time. As he stood there with your daughter in his arms, both of them looking shocked, you ran over in a panic.
âCassie! Oh my god, are you ok?â
She nodded, still looking up at the mysterious man that had appeared out of the literal blue to save her. âYeah.â
Five set her down and she ran to you, hugging you tightly around your waist. You held her to you and looked up at Five.
âThank you. Thank you so much. I canât believe I wasnât watchingâŠbut you wereâŠoh my god if you werenât hereâŠâ
âNo problem. Iâm just glad I got there in time.â
You choked back the tears you could feel coming on. âIâm a terrible mother, arenât I? I just let my kid fall off the monkey bars because I wasnât paying attention. What kind of person does that?â
Five smiled gently. âA normal one. Of course youâre not a terrible mother.â
âYou donât even know me,â you sniffed with a smile.
âTrue. But in the very short time weâve been talking, I can tell that youâre a great parent. Just like you can sniff out the lunatics, I can spot a shitty parent a mile away.â
Cassie let go of you, glancing back at Five with a smile and then back at you. âItâs true, mommy, youâre not shitty at all.â
âCassie!â you gasped in horror at your daughterâs language.
Five tried to hold it in, but he had to laugh, which made Cassie laugh, which then made you laugh.
âSorry, I think thatâs my fault,â Five said.
âWell, Iâd like to blame you, but the truth is I have a bad habit of swearing like a sailor myself. I just usually try to keep it to a minimum around her, but Iâm not always successful.â
Five nodded with a smile before crouching down in front of Cassie. âMaybe next time stick with the swings, ok?â
Cassie frowned, her eyebrows scrunched together as she crossed her arms. âSwings are for babies. I can DO the monkey bars, but these were slippery. Someone made them slippery.â
Five looked back up at you with a grin, then back at Cassie, fixing his face so that he was serious again. âI bet they did. That seems like a very logical explanation; I can tell you are very smart.â
Cassie uncrossed her arms with a smile and nodded. âI am! I get in trouble at school for saying Iâm smarter than the other kids, but itâs not my fault. Iâm only telling the truth.â
âWeâre working on being humble, arenât we Cassie?â you said in a reproving way.
Five chuckled and leaned in to whisper to Cassie, making sure he was still loud enough that you could hear. âI completely understand. I have the same problem.â
The little girl nodded solemnly, recognizing a fellow put-upon genius in her midst. She looked back up at you. âCan I go on the slide now?â
âAre you sure youâre ok?â
âYes, Iâm ok.â
âAlright, then. I promise Iâll be watching.â
As she ran off to the slide, you turned to Five. âI should probably go over and stand at the bottom. Just in case.â
âOh sure, I understand.â
âReally, I canât thank you enough, Five. Youâre amazing.â
Five put his hands in his pockets and smiled shyly. âI think amazing is a bit much, but youâre welcome.â
âSo, will you be coming by to feed your buddies tomorrow?â
âMost likely, yes.â
You nodded thoughtfully. âWell, I was thinking that I might bring Cassie back here tomorrow as well. Maybe around 2pm? Do you think youâll be here then?â
âI think I will definitely be here at 2pm.â
âGreat. Iâll see you then.â
With a smile, you gave him a small wave and turned to go join your daughter at the slide. Five watched you walk away, unable to keep the growing grin off his face. This was the most interaction heâd had with anyone that wasnât part of his family in a very long time and it felt surprisingly good. Really good.
The next day, Five was already waiting at his usual bench when you and Cassie found your way over to him. When he saw you, he stood up, holding out a cup of coffee for you. His own cup was on the bench next to where he had been sitting.
âI wasnât sure how you liked it. Or, even if you drank coffee, but here you go. Itâs just black.â
As you took the cup, you giggled. âYes, I do drink coffee, and black is perfect. Thank you so much, that wasnât necessary.â
Five shrugged, stuffing his hands in his pockets. âI was getting one for myself anyway, so it was no trouble.â
Cassie watched as you and Five stood there smiling at one another, but not saying anything. Her eyebrows came together and she looked up at Five, tilting her head to one side.
âMy mom said your name is Five.â
Snapping out of his trance, he addressed Cassie. âYes, it is.â
âThatâs a number.â
âYes, it is.â
âThatâs how old I am.â
Five nodded. âYou seem very mature for your age.â
She paused, eyeing him up thoughtfully. âFiveâs a weird name.â
âCassie!â you cried out, completely embarrassed at your daughterâs lack of a filter.
Biting back a laugh, Five pretended to look confused. âWhat do you mean itâs weird? I know at least a dozen other people named Five.â
Cassie paused, trying to determine if he was telling the truth or not. Then she shook her head with a small smile. âNo, you donât.â
Five grinned. âSee? I knew you were smart.â
You laughed at their interaction, looking around. âSo, where are your friends?â
âOh, I havenât put out the buffet yet. Theyâll be here though.â He turned to Cassie. âWould you like to help feed some very ungrateful birds with me?â
The little girlâs face lit up. âYes!â
âOk, then, here you go,â Five took out his usual bag of birdseed and handed it to Cassie. âJust start sprinkling it on the ground. Theyâll be here before you know it.â
As she took the seed and started to throw handfuls around and up in the air, laughing to herself, you and Five sat on the bench and watched. Sure enough, after about a minute, the small flock began to swoop in. Five identified all of them that had names, which made Cassie laugh even harder. As she giggled and let out little shrieks of joy while she continued to throw them more food, you turned to Five.
âI havenât seen her this happy in a long time.â
âReally?â
You nodded. âItâs been really hard on her since the divorce. She has to go back and forth from house to house every week. Itâs stressful and I can see it taking a toll on her. Which, naturally, makes me feel like shit.â
âIâm sorry to hear that,â Five said earnestly. âBut even if itâs hard on her now, it will be better for her in the long run. Kids are resilient and she really is very smart, so I have no doubt sheâll be fine. What happened with you and your ex, if you donât mind me asking?â
âWell,â you sighed, âitâs a long story. But the short version is that we got together when we were young and just outgrew one another over time. Heâs not a bad guy, but we argued all the time. The love was gone and we just didnât want to fight anymore.â You looked over at Cassie with a guilty frown. âI just wish I could protect her from all of this.â
Five was silent for a moment as he took that in. âLook, Iâm not a parent and I donât pretend to know anything about marriage, but I can tell you that it sounds like you did her a favor. Growing up in a house with constant bickering can be stressful in its own right. And not seeing any love between parents is even worse. So, sheâll be more than fine. You showed her that everyone deserves to be happy and sheâll carry that with her as she grows older.â
It had been so long since someone had said exactly what you needed to hear, that you immediately started to tear up. Hurriedly wiping your eyes, you laughed at yourself.
âSorry, Iâm not sure whatâs wrong with me.â You looked up at Five with a grateful smile and patted his hand that was next to yours. âThank you for that. You have no idea how much that means to me.â
Five swallowed nervously and looked down at your hand on top of his. âYouâre welcome. And who knows, maybe youâll find the right person down the road.â
âYeah,â you said quietly, taking in his clear green eyes. âMaybe I will.â
âMommy look!â Cassie shrieked with a laugh, jarring you and Five out of your moment.
You quickly pulled your hand away, turning your attention back to your daughter. She was standing there, smiling ear to ear, as a small, skinny pigeon sat on her shoulder like it was the most normal thing in the world.
âIt likes me!â
Five laughed, shaking his head. âI have been coming here for months and not one of those damn birds has ever sat on me like that.â
You laughed, too. âUnbelievable.â
âWhatâs this oneâs name, Five?â Cassie giggled.
âOh, uhâŠyeah, thatâsâŠFred.â
As Cassie continued on, feeding and talking to Fred, you looked over at Five. âWhat was that about?â
He ran a hand through his hair and lowered his voice. âI actually call that one Fuck Face.â
When you doubled over with laughter, Five grinned from ear to ear. Heâd never made anyone laugh like that before, and it was the best heâd felt in a very long time.
Over the next few weeks, you and Five built up a close friendship. He listened to your stories about single mom life and how it could be lonely and difficult. You listened to his stories of his traumatic past and how he was attempting to live as a normal man for once in his life. The conversation came easily and you never felt awkward around one another. Soon, he had integrated himself into your life, and into Cassieâs, too.
She loved spending time with Five, and on the days when you didnât see him, she always asked about him. He liked to tease her and she was always ready with her own zingers to sling back at him. When she told him bad knock knock jokes, he would groan and tell her how horrible they were, but he would be smiling the whole time. You would sit back, watching their banter, thinking how cute they were.Â
Even though he had become such a big part of your life in such a short time, you and Five had not moved past the friends stage. You were still a little gun shy after the divorce, and you werenât even sure Five was interested in you that way. Sure, there had been several times when you had caught him looking at you in that way that made your heart do a little flip in your chest. And maybe your breath hitched a little whenever his hand brushed against yours in passing. But you liked how things were between you. At least for now.
Five wasnât sure how you felt about him, either. He knew you were coming off a bad relationship and you probably wanted nothing to do with men for the time being. He definitely liked spending time with you, though. He found he looked forward to it more and more. Seeing you smile when you saw him was the best part of his day. But he didnât want to assume you were interested in anything more. If he made a move and you shot him down, not only would it be embarrassing, it might ruin what you already had. And that was too important to lose.
The three of you were at the park again, and you watched as Cassie dragged Five off toward her favorite twisty slide, taking his hand and pulling him along while he pretended to grumble about it. After he was forced to slide down the plastic slide, you laughed loudly when you saw him reach the bottom.
âWhat?â he asked, brushing the dust off of his pristinely pressed slacks.
âYour hair!â you laughed. âThe static made it stick straight up!â
He patted at his crazy hair with a frown and tried to smash it down, which made you laugh even harder. After Cassie came tumbling out of the slide herself, Five pretended to be annoyed with her.
âHey, kid, you didnât tell me that slide would mess up my hair.â
Cassie giggled. âYou look funny. Like a porcupine.â
After Five fixed himself as best he could, Cassie took his hand and tugged on it again, this time trying to get him to crouch down to her level. When he did, she rested her hand on his forehead for a second, pulling it back with a frown. Then she looked at Five with a shake of her head. âYou donât feel hot.â
âShould I? Iâm not feeling sick.â
She looked over at you. âI heard you talking to Taylorâs mom at the bus stop and you said Five was hot.â She put her hand on his cheek. âHe feels normal.â
If the ground suddenly opened up and swallowed you whole, you would not have been more grateful. Instead, you remained frozen, your face on fire and your mouth trying to form words that wouldnât come.
âUhâŠâ was all that you stammered out.
In true kid fashion, Cassie was oblivious to the faux pas she created. As Five slowly stood up again, and Cassie skipped off to the swing set, unbothered by it all, his eyes met yours. The self-satisfied smirk on his face spoke a thousand words.
âYou said I was hot?â
âIâŠnoâŠI mean well yeahâŠkind ofâŠâ you tried to stumble your way through a cohesive sentence.
Five adopted his typical cool stance, with his hands in his pockets, as he continued to grin like an absolute asshole. âSo, is Taylorâs mom cute? Did you give her my number?â
After a few more seconds of being mortified, you started to see the humor in the situation. You relaxed and laughed quietly, looking at the ground with a shake of your head. âDamn it, youâre an asshole sometimes, you know?â
âBut still hot, right?â
âYouâre never going to let me live this down, are you?â you said with a groan.
Five shook his head slowly. âProbably not.â
As you ran a hand down your still-flushed face, you sighed. With a raised eyebrow, you jabbed a finger in his direction. âYou fucking know youâre hot, too. Thatâs what makes it worse.â When he laughed, but didnât deny it, you sighed again.
On your way over to the swings, Five bumped you with his elbow. âYouâre pretty hot yourself, you know.â
When you looked over, you saw the corner of his mouth turn up as he swallowed hard. His eyes skirted away from yours as he looked at the ground.
âThanks, Five,â you said, suddenly feeling very warm again.
âYouâre welcome.â
It was a few days later when your little trio was walking to the park from your house. After Five had joined you for dinner, you had decided to take some of the leftover bread to his group of feathered friends. As you got close to Fiveâs regular bench, Cassie stopped him.
âWait. Can you do the whooshing thing with me?â
Five chuckled. âYou mean blinking? I suppose. If your mom doesnât mind.â
âYou can do my mom, too,â Cassie added.
Trying to hide a laugh, he nodded. âI would love to do your mom.â
Even though that little side comment sent a tingle down your spine, you pretended you hadnât noticed. âItâs ok, you two go ahead.â
Five shot you a very devious grin before grabbing you both by the arms and blinking you over to the bench. Your shriek of surprise was cut short as you appeared out of his portal. Cassie was falling on the ground in a fit of giggles while you tried to catch your breath with a hand on your chest.
âSorry,â Five said, unsuccessfully holding back his own glee.
âYou are not, liar,â you laughed.
With a shrug and a grin, Five handed Cassie the bread for the birds. âHere you go, kid, they should be pretty happy with this feast.â
When Cassie opened the bag and spread the crumbs on the ground, the birds descended, recognizing their new, smaller food-bringer.
âMr. Tippington, itâs ok,â Cassie cooed to the little brown bird that had become her favorite. âTrucker Bob, youâll like todayâs dinner, itâs bread!â She swatted the angry blue jay away, just like Five had shown her. âSandra JayâŠyou be nice or no one will be your friend.â
Sitting next to Five, on the bench where you had first saw him talking to those ridiculous birds, you turned to him and studied his profile. You knew his face more intimately than anyone elseâs, you thought. How many times had you stared at it while he was talking? Taking in the sharp angles of his jaw and the way he swept the hair out of his eyes with an agitated hand. It made you wonderâŠwhat was stopping you from doing what you really wanted?
Out of nowhere, you leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. When you pulled back, you couldnât help but let out a short burst of laughter because the expression on his face was one of complete and utter confusion.
âSorry,â you said, looking down at your lap. âI couldnât resist.â
After a few seconds of Five trying to get his wits about him again, he smiled. âIâm so glad you did that first.â
âWhat do you meaââ
Your question was cut off by Fiveâs lips meeting yours, his hand coming to rest on the back of your neck. His kiss was soft and pure, and unlike any other kiss youâd had before. When you finally opened your eyes, meeting his gorgeous emerald ones, you felt so good you couldnât contain your giant grin.
âIâm not sure what took me so long,â you confessed.
âMe either,â Five said with a chuckle before leaning in again, letting himself get lost in the softness of your lips and the sound of your quiet, contented sigh.
It was magical, pure and simple, and he wasnât even sure how this was even possible. He wasnât sure he was deserving of it, but he would take it.
âEW!!!â
You and Five jumped, pulling apart abruptly as Cassie looked on, hands on her hips.
âThatâs gross,â she complained.
âSorry, honey, uhâŠFive and I were justâŠâ
âMommy, Iâm not dumb. I know you were kissing and itâs definitely yucky. Youâre going to get germs.â She paused. âAre you married now?â
Five laughed, and covered your hand with his. âNo, weâre not married. But we like each other, is that ok?â
Cassie thought for a moment, the birds around her seeming to stop and think with her. âYeah, itâs ok. Just remember I want a baby sister, not a baby brother.â Then she turned back to her birds, ignoring the two shocked adults.
âWellâŠsorry about that,â you responded with a cringe.
âNo need to apologize. These are all good things to know. Yes to a baby sister, no to a baby brother.â
âOh my gosh,â you said, covering your eyes in embarrassment.
Five gently moved your hand away. When you looked back at him, his soft smile told you everything you needed to know. And when he leaned in for another kiss, you felt like you were finally where you were supposed to be.
âI want this. Do you?â he asked, his voice heartbreakingly quiet.
You nodded. âYes. I feel likeâŠlike weâre meant to be somehow. Does that make sense?â
âIt makes perfect sense,â Five said before kissing you once again, cradling your face in his hand.
Five had found what he had never dared to dream of. Someone he didnât have to lie to, or pretend with, or put up a wall against. You liked him for who he was, and he wasnât ashamed of anything when he was with you. You brought out all of the good within him, and he never felt safer than when he was with you and Cassie. You and she were his found family; the key to his happiness.
As for you, you had finally found the right person. Somehow, Five had become your best friend and confidant. And now, he was something more. Someone that understood you and knew the real you, all the way down to your bones. He was all you had been waiting for, and you couldnât wait to start a new chapter of your life with him.
