At the time I was drawing these, I was like ehh I don't like the way this sketchbook paper feels so rough and dry with my inking pens and all I have are sharpies with no pen pressure. Now that I colored them I'm like... dang I kinda like the b/w inks more again LMAO.
I think I shall print/cut these as the sticker club extras for August!

YEAH. I did. It's hard to figure out a balance between what I like, and what would fit within the game's art style. Especially because what I see as Wesker's themes may be just a lil different from what Capcom intends, and what most normal fans see :P
I want to push into the bug theme. Uroboros must be derived somewhat from T-Veronica, so Wesker can carry some plant/insect genes in him. I'm also very obsessed with Sergei calling him a little black cockroach in Umbrella Chronicles. And there's the RE5 Reaper roaches too. Not everything that Uroboros touches must just be goopy formless worms!
The virus wasn't compatible with Wesker in the end, but perhaps just in that moment it would have bonded with him like a shiny black Symbiote shell over his human carcass. Just like his shiny black leather jumpsuit.
He'd start as an animal, and as Chris damages him he gets more human-like in classic JRPG fashion. And of course, he gives birth to bugs like Alexia and Marguerite when you hit the weak spot of his womb (where the Tyrant wounded him in RE5)! Don't let the girls have all the brood queen fun!

That form of Sergei was a manifestation of his suffering, admonished and torn by his inner thorns.
It was nothing more than the embodiment of that man's innermost thoughts.

What's Wesker's innermost suffering? I personally think loneliness, going from Kenichi Iwao's notes:
his heart was always cold and he was acting to blend himself into society. He was a clear-headed but tragic individual lacking human emotions. The only way he could live was to self-affirm his intense elitism.
He couldn't fit in with humans. He always felt like something else wearing a human skin. The closest he probably got to blending into society and feeling human was with STARS + betraying STARS and Umbrella "for my personal interests", since before that it seems like his entire being was manipulated by Umbrella's eugenics cult. And it took Spencer telling him that his entire life was manufactured to mind-break him into finalizing his "new world" project, emphasizing the inhumanity of his nature. Whether he's manufactured like a machine, or bred like a pet roach for studying.
My personal thoughts for a monster Wesker design would be to emphasize why he wants to create a "new world" full of superhumans like himself. And he'll create a world where he won't be lonely anymore, with his own flesh and blood, by birthing more Uroboros worms! That calls back to the Tyrant in RE1 that he worked on, the purpose of the Tyrant was to infect and control humans.
I'm also thinking about the album art for Nirvana's "In Utero". The front cover is an anatomical Venus with angel wings. Wesker's wings are cockroach wings, mirroring his stated desire to become a deity. And the intestines of the Venus have become his transparent womb with worm babies.
The back cover of "In Utero" is a collage of "Sex and woman and In Utero and vaginas and birth and death". Now this is the part that's pure headcanon that'll probably differ from a lot of people! I like Wesker as an asexual [1], aromantic, agender little creature to go with his feelings of isolation. Everyone else gets to enjoy sex and romance and Being A Man/Woman and all that stuff. Wesker doesn't get it. But he would like to understand it, maybe even engage in it for research, his character is full of insatiable curiosity. (And that's why he's so interested in Chris. Here's someone that's close to him that enjoys Sex and Romance and Being a Man and all that human music! Let's examine Chris under a microscope by putting him in the Spencer Mansion saw trap <3 )
Wesker is read as masculine by the other characters, and 99% intended as a man by Capcom, but I see him as more of an androgynous figure. I'm thinking about Morpheus from Dead Aim, how their Tyrant form was formed from their thoughts on beauty and femininity, and how Capcom 100% intended that character to be the "crossdressing/transvestite/transsexual queer villain trope" - the devs use the term "okama" to refer to Morpheus, which is a derogatory term for various types of people under the queer umbrella..
I feel like there are little hints of Wesker being in Morpheu's vein of bad queer representation, from his vaguely British accent (influenced by Shere Kahn the Disney villain, and BOY do we know that Disney villains are very much intended to be camp queer-coded villains) to his slinky leather bondage jumpsuit, to the way he walks with his hips in RE5 LMAO. And all the official renders of him standing like... that.
AGAIN this is all just my own thoughts, and other fans AND capcom will see things in a different way. That's why this is my personal Wesker. Your Wesker might be different. Capcom's intentions might be different. But this is my Wesker and I like the way I see him 🙂↕️
[1] : I like using the term "asexual" in the biology sense for him! He will NOT be having sexual relations with Jake's mom. He WILL reproduce asexually whether it's infecting people with worms, or spewing out worms from his womb.

RE1 = Mostly pulling from the concept art, getting the slightly curved nose from the REmake model. Obsessed with the 1 sprig and receding hairline of course. His hairline gets thicker and fuller HAHA he's a walking advertisement for that Umbrella Hair Tonic. Don't worry I'mma keep drawing him with sexy thinning temples.
RECV = Bishonen version of Val Kilmer kissy lips, and I'll say it every time.
RE5 = Do I have to say it. I have so many images of Willem Dafoe saved on my computer. The model looks nothing like Willem, really, but little details like the sharp cheeks, long teeth and pointy nose make me happy to exaggerate.
RE4 = I was resistant to Bowie Wesker at first. But much like Willem, they look nothing alike but have little details. Thin crooked nose, sharp jaw, cheekbones, ... BRI'ISH?! I'll accept Bowesker, but everyone else has to accept that I'm giving him wonky teeth and femme-ing him up like 70's Bowie.
She's not in the STARS team photo that Wesker has in his office, cuz she's so new! So Wesker needs another photo with her name written on it to remember who she is. And that's why Rebecca's taunt in RE5 is "I'M REBECCA!". He shall remember the name. Even if he can't remember if Rebecca is a girl or twink.
