Quick rec: I'm such a sucker for a good historical romance and this one is simply yummy. I especially love that the heroine is so much older than the hero--something you don't often see in this genre. Can't wait to see Royce's next offering.

In my experience, writers tend to be really good at the inside of their own heads and imaginary people, and a lot less good at the stuff going on outside, which means that quite often if you flirt with us we will completely fail to notice, leaving everybody involved slightly uncomfortable and more than slightly unlaid. So I would suggest that any attempted seduction of a writer would probably go a great deal easier for all parties if you sent them a cheerful note saying “YOU ARE INVITED TO A SEDUCTION: Please come to dinner on Friday Night. Wear the kind of clothes you would like to be seduced in.” And alcohol may help, too. Or kissing. Many writers figure out that they’re being seduced or flirted with if someone is actually kissing them.

Found this recipe online over the weekend because I was looking for something sweet to eat. I made a couple of substitutions (in brackets) and boy, were they delish!

EXTREME CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

Ingredients

(Makes 6 servings)

Preparation time is 10 min

· 1 cup · butter-softened

· 3 cup · sugar ( I substituted 2 cups of dark brown sugar and 1 cup white sugar)

· 1 ½ cup · all-purpose flour-sifted

· ½ teaspoon · salt

· ½ teaspoon · baking powder

· 1 cup · unsweetened cocoa powder

· 1 tablespoon · vanilla extract

· 3 medium · eggs

· ¼ cup · chocolate syrup(optional) (used golden syrup instead – could also use honey)

Directions

· preheat oven to 350 degrees.

· lightly grease a 9×13 pan.

· in a large mixing bowl,add 1st 8 ingredients,and mix well. (my mixture was a bit dry so I add a couple tablespoons of water)

· add your chocolate syrup, (or honey or golden syrup - I used golden syrup and they were nice and fudgy) ,and mix well.

· pour your mixture into your pan,and bake for 35-38 min or until brownies are set.

· cool on rack.

· ENJOY

Ideas are a flowing

So I’ve had some ideas about the next book I want to write. It sort of follows a side character from my story A Random Chance. I love it when ideas start to coalesce and new characters begin to reveal themselves to you. Maybe I’ll jot down some ideas today.

The things kids say

My daughter has said some classic things, like all kids her age. She's four. Last night, I was grousing at my husband because of the damn cold I have and he said, jokingly, he was going to the other room so he didn't make me mad. My daughter looked right at me and said, "but Mommy, I thought Daddy loves to make you mad."

Rainy Day

So 30% chance of rain turned into let’s pour the whole day long. I kinda like it though. Since I’ve been sick the last three days with a nasty cold, and only today just started to feel a little better, it suits my mood. Also, rainy days always remind me of England. I would kill to be able to curl up on the couch with an old crocheted blanket, a steaming mug of Tetley’s and a good book downloaded onto my ipod. My daughter would like very much to stomp in puddles.
