Thank you for your insight on orchard corsets. My friend and I both have larger measurements that make it a bit difficult to find otr corsets and she is looking into the orchard corset cs-411 or a petite josephine by isabella if she decides to muster up that much money. We were debating the quality difference between the two, because she is nearly certain she wants to waist train or wear it daily and wasn't sure about orchard or how it would look on a fuller figure. Your blog definitely helps :)

i hope this isnt rude to ask, but could you tell your hight/weight? im bery overweight (i wear a 26/28 in jeans) and want to waist train and thought i couldnt and im just wondering if youre bigger/smaller/same as me....

I'm not going to give my exact weight... 

But I'm only a few sizes smaller than you. I'm 5'6''.

Waist training does NOT have a weight requirement. If you want to train, go for it. I'm finding that it's actually a pretty useful diet tool as it suppresses appetite and makes you actually work out (keeping posture and stuff). So... go for it!

So, I got a corset custom made several months ago, and the bones in the back aren't straight when laced and I didn't know there was anything wrong with that until I began reading your blog. I don't know what to do? my hips are just too wide for it.

If it’s custom that’s impossible unless you didn’t give the right measurements. A custom corset should fit with no problems.

You cannot always blame the customer. I got a custom corset that is no where near the measurements I gave. Sometimes it's the corset maker.

I remember more pictures of the woman wearing the white one. Who is she? My friend has a pretty small torso, so I wanted to show her someone closer to her size so she can get a better idea of how it will look on her.

Small as in short? Or small as in with? The 511 will fit the same was as the 426, except with the bust coverage. I don’t know who she is particularly… but she posted the pictures on the facebook page. There was only one other, and I remember it being of a different view.

I measured her waist at 28”, and her hips are 40ish. I didn’t measure her bust, but it’s not too much bigger than her waist. Maybe they’ll put the small busted ones on clearance when they start selling the new ones. She would win on that, since she doesn’t need a particularly large busted corset.

Don’t worry too much about the bust. It’s not much bigger. She should be fine. Just measure her torso length to make sure it’s not too long.

She tried one at the faire. It looked like a pretty average length, and it was fine on her. I think it was the corset story type, which is disappointing because the fitter was awesome. He just looked at her and knew that her waist was 28”. He put her in a 24, and made sure the gap was parallel. He did everything right, except for selling flat steel boned corsets.

What is your opinion on Orchard Corsets for waist training?

Depending on the type of reduction you want, Orchard Corset it fantastic for beginners. 

But then again... it isn't for everyone.

Unless you're lucky enough to have the exact measurements of their corsets... you aren't going to be able to correctly train. You can still train to an extent... but don't expect to be getting a true reduction of like 8 inches. For some people it's possible... but for others it's not.

Some can do things like add hip lacing or even rib lacing... but I feel like that's just a hassle. If you really want to waist train, save up and get something serious. 

So... I like Orchard Corset for waist training but I dont love it for waist training. Does that make sense? It's okay... it's not perfect. 

Also... they only have two silhouettes.... so you can't really get a variety there. 

I mean if you have big hips and you want a conical shape... no go for you. You get hour glass.

If you have small hips and want an conical shape... too bad for you too... you get hour glass. 

If you want conical and you have a short torso? too bad. Have some hour glass.

If you have a long torso and you want hour glass.... enjoy your muffin.

Also... the waist placement is a little weird. It's pretty much directly in the center of the corset, so it's hard to line that up (which is the most important part) while still keeping the corset in the correct place.

So... they're ok... but not perfect. For an OTR.... they're on the better end.

If you want a waist trainer and are willing to spend about 150... go to Issy at Isabella Corsetry. She makes great corsets and they're cheaper than the awesome OTR ones.

It's single boned and doesn't have enough strength.

It looks like it has a good shape... but it's actually shapeless if you actually get it. You can see it on the girl in the picture. Theres literally like two inches difference between the waist and the hip.

It's probably made of shit for lack of a better word.

Hi, Ive wanted to waist train for a while, but ive felt like I "can't" because Im plus sized. You, however, have shown me that I can, and I can rock the hell out of it while I do! So ty. But now, where do I start? Where should I get my first corset?

Aw! This sorta stuff makes me smile.

I would always suggest starting off with a custom one if you are serious about training and have the funds... but if not, you can get either the CS-411 or CS-426 from Orchard Corsets! Both a great for waist training on a budget.

ok. i understand what you're saying and moments ago discovered that they are not easily hidden under clothes :p it's still a steel boned corset that i'm using to ease me into the whole waist training process. i have my eye on a really nice cincher thought which I need to buy soon before they pack it away fro the season.

I thought the same thing before I had 5000 people come at me telling me it won't work.

The corsets I suggest are only about 50 dollars. They're still great no matter what and you should definitely look into them. 

You won't even have an idea of the beauty of waist training until you have an underbust!

Oh. But still... when you close an overbust... you're breasts will be squeezed and uncomfortable. There will be pain. Especially in an off the rack corset. They aren't made for waist training. There will be plenty of room for tightening in the waist area... but the hip and bust should not have that. You're trying to make your waist smaller, not hips and upper ribs. Those are uncomfortable and defeat the entire purpose of waist training.
