i love the way the glass is blurred over amelie's mouth (bc of her breath duh), it sort of foreshadows her speechlessness when bretodeau tries to talk to her you know, and i know this was not improvised because i mean anyone would have notice the blurring.

out of the millions of close ups delbonnel makes of Amélie, this is my favourite. she looks so cheeky and so curious and there are many positive emotions flowing through the image. the one sided lighting works amazingly to show that amelie could have something hiding behind this façade of a pretty face. and ah just bruno delbonnel is genius.

this scene man, this scene. this was the scene which defined the whole brilliance of matthew libatique. this scene not only was edited really well, the camera movement was executed perfectly with such fluidity. we get insights into both nina and thomas' point of views. and the use of mirrors in this scene was just great ah.

this is probably my favorite still from Black Swan (2010) for a number of reasons: A) There are 5 subjects in the still (the violin, the choreographers, the dancers, Thomas, and a resting dancer) B) They are placed very well in the shot, with varying proximities C) It showcases the different aspects of the Ballet world; the music, the dancers, the teachers, the directors, the minor dancers.
