i also never posted updated gorp from this summer which is unforgivable. plus my now Old naked gorp/breen design. my sealbug.

A████ Pen is a joined Trill, the first joining of the Pen symbiont. After many years of not matching with prospective initiates due to a "difficult personality", she was finally matched with a host, whom they were sure would be her Best Friend. However, instead of waking up in recovery within the Symbiosis Institute, he awoke on a strange planet, in a strange body, the voice of their promised friend completely silent, alone and with phaser fire approaching. Hiding in vents and recesses on stations and ships, they learn to Observe the ones who were born knowing how to use their four limbs, learning to operate this body by copying others from afar. She realizes, eventually, that she must have been joined some time ago, and something terrible has happened that has hurt her Friend, kept them from sharing their mind. The answer to that puzzle is not exactly what he was hoping for.

other stuff:

pen's host has hyperlentigism, a higher than average level of spot coverage, as well as something similar to situs inversus which is why their arm spots fall on the outside of the limb and the leg spots on the inside. thats the reason im not inconsistent. and also why pen the symbiont skews left in the torso.

i took a tiny detail in fallen heroes and ran with it, where trill spots fade upon injury or death. not sure how much sense it makes for pen's character now but its so ingrained because she also has tattoos along the edges of the spots to alter the pattern, a practice semi outdated but still somewhat popular in certain circles that originated for anti computer recognition. the tattooed spots remain darker than the real ones. i have an elaborate out of universe history for the fangs too. but this post is long enough. i love my worm.
