The Cambridge academic Robin Bunce said: “There is a fundamental danger of erasing the very notion of a struggle at all. I’ve been researching this for four and a half years and there have been so many occasions when people have said to me: ‘There was no black struggle in Britain. You’re thinking of South Africa or America.’“

I’m British and never new this existed in our country. Schools taught us about how Churchill saved the way ans how he had depression. They taught us how Hitler rose to power in so much detail you’d think it was a “How to” instructional guide. But we never learnt about the British Black Panthers.

They teach us about the big moments like Rosa Parks but only in a few days of lessons, then they’ll spend months of Hitler’s half sisters cousins uncle.
