Hello angels!

my name is Lane and I am in highschool!

I created this blog to find people with similar interests as me because nobody in my real life shares/supports many of my interests.

here are some of my favorite things:

Lana del Rey:

my very favorite, especially the unreleased! I love Paradise, Florida kilos, and currently loving Hollywood and big bad wolf!

Radiohead:

I used to be the BIGGEST Radiohead fanatic and I still love them so so much. my favorites are: climbing up the walls, idioteque, how to disappear completely, and videotape

Death Cab for Cutie:

I love: Title and Registration, I don't know how I survive, I dreamt we spoke again, and I built you a tower

The Smiths:

easily second favorite artist! I love well I wonder, nowhere fast, rusholme ruffians, and cemetery gates

I also love Marina, Sophie wood house, mitski, Nancy Sinatra, francoise Hardy, Morrissey, and various others

My main interests include:

writing and reading (I love Sylvia Plath, Albert Camus, Virginia Woolf, Anne sexton, Margaret Atwood, Franz Kafka, and many others)

I play piano! I've been playing for 8 years but still not that great at it

PLEASE HELP!!!

i am leaving for a precollege program for creative writing at my dream school on Friday! I really want to make some good friends to hang out with, especially because there will be many times we can go downtown and get food or hang out in our dorms. the problem is that I have social anxiety and have a hard time making friends when I don't have other people I am comfortable with around me (and its just going to be me for two weeks).

Do you have any advice on finding friends and keeping them? any advice for finding fellow girlbloggers out in the wild?

my goal is really just to make a few close friends, any advice will help.

i have THE exam of my life in august and i started studying in march but i keep stopping every time. Last time i studied was in may, this exam is the ONLY thing i need to finally move out to live my dream! But i failed behind a lot in school, so i'm having to study everything over again and i like doing it at night cuz i hate to see my family watching me studying cuz I KNOW they judge me and think less of me. I need to lock in but every time i start watching the video-class, i start yawning and get super anxious and can't focus and that makes the simplest lesson looks like hell, like i have to even check if i got 2+2=4 (i sleep well so i know it's not that)... i don't know what to do anymore

so far i've done everything, tried pomodoro mode, phone out of the room and turned off, treats after studying... do you think u can help me out? sorry for the long text <3

Of course!! I understand this is a huge amount of pressure and I’m sorry it’s not been going as planned!! If you tell me what kind of test it is I can help more, but here are some general tips.

try to study in the morning so you aren’t exhausted and pushing back your bedtime to study. Make yourself a nice snack that you can eat the whole time if you are hungry, and burn a candle while you study, it’s relaxing and helps focus. Set out your study tools the night before so you don’t have to build up a ton of motivation just to set up. Another thing that really helps me is I have a specific playlist (no words, not classical) that I only listen to when I need to lock in. I can send it to you if you’d like, or you can make yourself own. Choose an ending time that is not far away, maybe just 20 minutes. Work until then and then make a new ending time if you aren’t satisfied with your work. If you give yourself too much time then your brain will co bc once you you have plenty of time and don’t need to focus yet, so always plan for a short period of time and add more as needed. I hope this helps and let me know if you want more tips!!
