HOME OF CIRQUE DE GLOIRE CDG is an indie horror passion project of a game. We're a small team of overly dedicated first-time developers, and we hope this page will help all of you get excited for what we're gonna bring into the world!! WELCOME IN!!

WHAT ARE WE ABOUT?

As mentioned in our description, we are a team of over-excitable (and neurodivergent, if that explains how insane we are about this) first-time developers, and we're working as hard as we possibly can to bring this into the light so it can finally shine. We have absolutely no clue when we're going to release as of right now, but once we have a date, you all will probably be the first to know! We post every Wednesday at noon Central Daylight Time!

WHO ARE OUR CHARACTERS?

We have a rather large cast, but every single character is made with love. Our goal is to achieve a diverse cast who all have their own reasons to be loved and adored, despite the fact that some of them absolutely do not deserve it. You'll see!

WHAT'S THE PLOT?

You play as Thomas Macnamara, an anxious and mild-mannered man who's searching for his best friend, Lia. On her computer, he finds several forums discussing a mysterious circus in the woods, hidden in the nearby Appalachian mountains. He decides to pack up and go on a trip there. But once the sun goes down, the odd performers and masked guests change. They mutate into bloodthirsty monstrosities, and Thomas' job is to find Lia and escape the circus alive, all while attempting to hide from the eccentric Ringmaster pulling all the strings. Will Thomas ever escape? Time to find out.

WARNINGS

This game does NOT come without its bad parts, though. We're as sympathetic to triggers as we possibly can be (if the masses request a phobia mode, we'll do our best!), so the following list is things you need to watch out for. We don't blindside.

TW: Body horror, flashing lights, loud noises, general horror, lots of blood/gore, depictions of abusive relationships, depictions of starvation, bright colors, and is strongly recommended for ages 13 and up. But do whatever you want, we aren't your parents.

SAFE: There are no depictions of physical abuse in a romantic relationship, and there is nothing related to emetophobia. Our head dev has a very, very bad fear of that, so don't worry your pretty little head!!

MEET ACE!!

Ace is the put-together, no-nonsense sharpshooter of the circus. He's the only one who can see what's going on in Ringmaster G's head. Though he may be quiet and cold as stone, he may be kinder than you think. Ace's only similarity to his eccentric lover is his willingness to protect the people he cares about.

MEET REESE!

Reese is an unhinged and frankly frustrating person. They get enjoyment from tormenting everyone around them to no end, including their boss! Reese is the head of the clown troupe, and they follow them like a mob. Reese has no kindness in their heart, and just laugh at every person upset that they can find. They're shifty and untrustworthy... But is there something beneath that? Is it a front? Find out.

MEET KAEDE!

A mermaid performer at the Cirque, Kaede Ashikaga is a cheerful and sweet woman who does her very best to help her coworkers, even though she's confined to her tank. She appears to be in a costume, but her tail is very real! After being created, she was dumped to die in the forest. Ringmaster G found and saved her, despite his discomfort with water, so from that moment on, she's been rabidly in love with him.

MEET EVE & EROS!

Eve and Eros are an inseperable couple of acrobats. They're in love, and they want to make it everyone else's problem! Eve was a widow hiding from the law, until Eros called for her, and they ran away together into the forest. They were some of the very first people to ever enter the circus, and helped build up the impenetrable walls and pave the floors that thousands of footsteps would beat down over the years. Though Eve is absolutely insane, Eros loves his wife unconditionally, and he worships her like a goddess.

MEET DITSO!

Ditso is a tragic clown girl who's been at the Cirque for only a handful of years. She was brought there by an ex-partner who did not treat her well, but she was coerced into killing him by Ringmaster G. Though he technically saved her, she's still terrified of him. And everything. After all, seeing what happens at night would make burning tears drip down anyone's face! Luckily, she has Viva, her girlfriend, to protect her. Unless she's with Reese, then she's beyond saving.

MEET VIVA!!

Viva is the head acrobat in charge of the aerial ring dancer troupe. She's a hardworking and loyal person, with a seething resentment towards Ringmaster G. She joined because he funded her dreams of becoming a ring dancer after her parents passed, but she saw through his attempts to manipulate her, and now tries to protect whoever she can from the wretched man who took her potential away from her. She prefers not to hang around him, as he tends to strong-arm his way into any conversation and make it about himself.

MEET RYAN AND VIKTOR!

The ventriloquist of the circus and Ringmaster G's personal assistant, Ryan Enamorado has the worst day of his life every day! He joined the circus to support his family on the outside, but has been trapped for years working for the Ringmaster, being tortured every night. His voice hasn't been heard for years.

The ventriloquist's puppet, Viktor is responsible for half of Ryan's suffering. Though the audience can't tell on stage, Viktor is very much alive. Ringmaster G has tried to get rid of him multiple times, but the bloodthirsty puppet proved to be a giant pain. Nobody knows what he is or where he came from, but he is here to stay.
