Sorry I have been inactive, I have been either procrastinating or sleeping, and I'll quickly update everyone what's happened...
Firstly, both papers of the English Advanced course we're done to a okay standard ( though my standard of marks in English are quite low ).
Secondly, I have been trying to do study for the subjects I rather do than English, but I'm struggling to get a start and maintain it, cause I just procrastinate... But I'm getting there...I think...
Anyway, today I did a load of questions for maths extension, Reading through the Industrial Chemistry section for Chemistry, and I have been reading and writing notes for the Q2Q section of Physics...

Welp that test went horribly... ( For those who wanna know, 4,7,7 in order of sections... ). I have to just focus, no distractions, no excuses cause that's the only way I'll improve...

15 Days until the HSC!!
Went to a university library with a few friends to study, and it was pretty good, I guess...
I think I have the hang of answering the reading task questions... Now time to memorise my essay tables for a practice paper 1...

@hsc-notes - Thank you for helping me! Unfortunately, though I’ve faithfully copied your notes and tried to apply the method to my own work, it’s… just Not Working for me.
Here’s the visual reference and selected points: (-4,0);(-2,1);(0,2);(4,4)
Finding X was easy, but I thought that C should be 2 (as in (0,2)) which is the y intercept, whereas the answer sheet said it was -4, which is the x intersect. [y=0.5x - 4 is listed as correct]
Or do I have it backwards?
How did your method of checking answers apply the values in the formula?
… because it looks so concise, but I’m finding it hard to apply to my work.
Edit: I might be getting the hang of this.
Hey again @femmegineerstudyblr !
You got the question right (Y=0.5x+2), Great Job! The C value is the y intercept, which is 2 (Idk why they would have it listed as -4).
And again to reiterate on my method of checking your formula...
Step 1: Find two points to be tested. (ie X intercept and y intercept, y intercept and point, X intercept and point, or two points)
Step 2: Test both points with your formula. ( If one of the points do not work, then formula you have tested is incorrect ) [ if they both work, then the formula is correct! ]
With the example I did yesterday, I tested three points to show you each type of point ( y intercept, X intercept and a point), but you don't need the third point to be tested.
Also there is this amazing website called "Desmos". It's a website that allows you graph any line your would like ( including parabolas, exponentials, hyperbola, cubics and so much more ). Simply just type the equation into the box and you can see your line on a Cartesian plane! So for example I put your equation ( y=0.5x+2 ) into it and...
Hey presto! Your line was correct! (Additionally, you don't need to write "y=", it assumes...)
Hopefully this clears any confusion and helps out! And remember never doubt yourself when checking the answers, the answer are written by a human and are bound to make a mistake somewhere. So be on the look out for those incorrect answers!

Terrified about this upcoming assessment, which has put the caffeinated fire in my ability to force myself to study. Today’s topic: basic linear relationships.
The starting point was copying out the key points and examples from the material I’d already been given in class, and looking over example problems.
Then there were a bunch of graphs with straight lines on them. This is where the problems set in.
Of the four attempted, two matched the answers on the sheet. It’s not unknown for my teacher to plagiarize the worksheets and not check the answers, but idk.
Answers:
If anyone out there can verify or explain this to me a little then I’d be thrilled for the help.
Good luck with your studies!
Hi there!
Great job on questions 1 and 4! Both questions 2 and 3 were incorrect, however question 3 was incorrectly labelled so you get a 2/3!
So Q2's answers are correct and here is the working! ( Edit: I think you may have made a mistake with one of the x values )
Q3 on the other hand, one of the points was incorrectly labelled [ point (-1,6) should have been (6,-1) ]. Never the less, here is the working for the question using the new point!
Now here is a way to confirm your answers. All you need to do is to test 2 points in which the points lie on the line. So these points could include labelled points, the X intercept or the Y intercept. I did an example test with Q2 between my answer and your answer!
Hope this helps! Please feel free to message me for further questions regarding maths!
