The king, after hearing the prophecy about a child fated to depose them, decided to just let the events play out without interfering.
"your majesty we propose you dispose of the threat immediately!" Cried out one of the many advisers who followed the king around the palace halls with a little jog in their steps.
"yes your majesty"
"I concur with him my king"
Their agreements rang loud and clear, bouncing off the walls in a frenzy. Yet the king, adorned in his royal regalia and his favorite (though he dare not say such a thing out loud) purple robe made his way through the halls and up the stairs without so much as feigning amusement at their 'advice'. He had a purpose for leaving the throne room and for bypassing the meeting hall, he had yet to meet the newest member of his family.
The ladies-in-waiting and attendants who cramed the gigantic room made passage for the king upon the announcement of his arrival, all bowing their heads and curtsying- some shaking with fear of what was to happen to the babe and others keeping a cool head as acceptance of the child's fate blossomed in their minds.
The king's advisors all stood by the door waiting anxiously, some smirking with delight others sweating with uncertainty. The child may have been prophesied to bring an end to the king's reign but of course one cannot simply disregard it's bloodline.
"everyone out!" Bellowed the massive king, his hands clasped behind him, his read raised higher than royally possible and his eyes firm and undaunting as his commandment
The advisors, ladies-in-waiting and attendants all shuffled out of the room, their steps hurried and the door shut behind them locking firmly into place.
"oh Father" a woman laid on the bed, her pale skin highlighted by freckles in contrast to her ginger hair, holding a wailing newborn smiled up at the king. Her face drenched with sweat.
"Tsk, Tabitha that is no way to hold onto a child-" the king said, moving forward and prying the wailing babe from it's mother's arms "no wonder it keeps screeching like a banshee... it's ok dear child, your grandpapa is here now" the king said soothingly to the new babe, his giant form holding onto the tiny child so delicately.
"Father will she really be the one to end your reign? She's so tiny and doesn't look to have a violent bone in her body" Tabitha chimed in...
"have you a name for it yet? I shall love to name her you see..." At the shake of his daughter's head, the king continued "the thing about prophecies, my dear, is people tend to look at it all negatively. Why, of course she shall be the one to have my throne for she is my heir and shall be this kingdom's greatest monarch... Aurora...ushering a new dawn of greatness"
A smile graced the king's lips as the babe quietened and carefully opened it's eyes
"and why I do believe she has my eyes"
