This man...
So, I finally updated again and just wanted to throw this in Tumblr, just in case you guys wanted something to read. I'm not very talented as a writer, but this is probably the story I've worked on the most, and I'm second most proud of. No one reads my Hunger Games fan fic, so I'm not sure if that counts, but it is what it is.
So I've been working on this fan fiction obsessively for a while now (because I too have an unhealthy obsession with Corbeau) and I thought I was so dang clever writing this tiny plot point that Corbeau was actually from Kanto (honestly, it started with Koga) and that he was raised by Giovanni and Silver was gonna be involved (he got cut out after I decided I didn't want him to be as dark as I needed him to be) and it was gonna be all super clever...
I hadn't finished the DLC. I'm not clever, I'm basic. Whelp.... At least I can put 2 and 2 together. At least I'm not blindsided by this new revelation. It still doesn't feel good.
At least the Koga stuff is gonna be original.
I wish the Red Bull gave Unicorns wings...
instead he just drove them into the sea...
one day i’ll extinguish the sun. then you won’t see. none of you will fucking see.
There we go, all finished! Had a lot of fun focusing on expressions! Now that this is done... I guess I have nothing from holding me back from sculpting Jet... https://www.instagram.com/p/B_-itI0p6FQ/?igshid=c1f36q7vcwr2
Snape: I hate teaching class
Minerva: They can't all be bad. Which is your least favourite class to teach?
Snape: The bourgeoisie
Thought I'd take you guys through my sketch process because it'd be interesting. This one took 30 minutes, start to finish, but it's one of the quicker ones.
Basically, I sketch out rough shapes, then mould them into something recognizable. From there, I try and balance out the shapes, fix fingers (if I can) try and detail SOMETHING, then see if it all fits. If it does, then comes the outlining. I like to take a picture of the shading, because after the outline is done, I have to erase all the pencil so it doesn't ruin the color.
Coloring is done with color pencils, mainly (the twistable ones, because I have no pencil sharpener until I get to the store. After the coloring is done, sometimes I go back and shade it in the best I can. I could have done better with that yesterday, but there's always room for improvement.
Gonna finish that list today. Still don't think it's as good as the rough draft, but such is life.
Before I ruin this with pens and color. Probably my best rough draft. Ngl, my thumbs hurt from so much erasing, but I'm actually really happy with this. Not perfect, but, I can see the improvements.
Half of me says "seven examples is enough..." the other half is pointing out I have seven more colors/emotions to go.
So, some of these are pretty terrible, but they got better the longer I went on. Since I DID make out a list of colors to match to emotions, and because I think it's helpful for me to attempt to draw facial expressions, I think I might finish off the list.
Terror is probably going to be my favorite... I think that one will have her Hero mask. I'm going to put my FULL effort into that emotion.
The hair turned out a bit big, but I think I can live with that. Actually really surprised how quickly it came out. I'm actually kinda mad that I switched her hair color from pink to blue, but... It thought it suited her better. Maybe it can be pink when she's sad... It'd be adorable if her hair changed color with her moods... Only the opposite color of what people think.
Like happy could be blue, sad could be pink, envy/jealousy could be purple, anger would be yellow and so on... I actually like that idea! It still sticks with her Reverse quirk idea too.
Will try a few sketches and hairstyles see if I can manage to find something I like.
Rough Draft: Chiara Shinjimura
Codename: The Sidekick Hero - Ravenger
Quirk: Reverse
Description: Can assess the quirk of someone she touched, and switch to the opposite effect.
Type: Emitter
Huh, didn't take as long as I thought it would. I mean, it's a disembodied head and still looks weird, but shockingly, I was able to create the EXACT expression I wanted! I've never been good at profile sketches, or eyes, but this is the look I was going for. I'm actually extremely proud of this work. I never thought I'd be able to do it!
Also, I think I've come up with a decent codename...
The Alchemist Hero: Crimson Maelstrom
Thought a back shot would be dramatic. Had to alter it from the rough draft to make room for the sash, but I'm glad I did. Decided against adding the her tanto... Didn't want to take away from the kanji. Ugh, it was so hard making bubble kanji, and it looks sloppy, but all in all, it came out okay. And yes, I do realize the inconsistency, her jacket IS meant to have detached sleeves. I noticed too late, I'm sorry.
For those wondering, her name is a combination of two words. "千" is thousand and "星" is star. Chise is actually a character I made for a Hunger Games fanfiction (probably the best thing I've ever worked on, and something I'm quite proud of) and I wanted to bring her to life in a world where the ultimate goal isn't murder. Where she could be the hero she wanted to be.
While I wanted to show the shower of Sakura petals that the back of her jacket portrays... I'm not good enough as an artist to actually make that work. Plus, I was rushing a bit.
Now... For the hardest part... Her face -_-;; that might take some time.
It's the best I can do. Looks a bit better than my rough draft, that's for sure. Chise is shaping up quite nicely. Still working on her codename...
Prelim sketch of my hero. Like I said, not really an artist. I need to find an eraser before I can move on, but the shapes are at least vague enough for me to work with.
