Testing out genes.
Added some extra stuff to the Sphiasa to try and make them more dragony. Not sure if I ruined them or made them better :,D We’ll see I guess.

Did some fussing around with graphics yesterday and came up with this idea to combine bio graphics and art into one! I’m selling them here:
http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/art/1918015/
Only three flights are done currently (shown above) but I have plans to do them all. I really like how foregrounds and backgrounds can be interchanged for a more unique touch (the two dragons above belonged to an earth lair).
Todays adopts!
These five boys have been in my lair since forever! Lookit how well they came out.
I did a thing and made some art for a breed suggestion! Check it out here: http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/sug/1946575 They’re called Sphiasa, which is a combination of a few things most notably that the whole idea started as ‘we have some western and eastern inspired dragons onsite, but what would a dragon look like from an ancient culture that really didn’t have any dragon lore at all?’ So these guys started out kind of Plains Native American based and ended up taking on a kind of Egyptian flair. Here’s the info I’ve worked out so far:
BREED: SPHIASA
Obtained: Unknown
Rarity: Unknown
Breeding Cooldown: 30 days (?)
Diet:
Meat
Seafood
Plants
Insects
Overview
Sphiasa are strange, contemplative creatures. They originate from the very edge of Dragonhome, where the waters flirt with the Starfall Isles. Their exact numbers are unknown, as it is rare to see them above ground.
Physical Attributes
Sphiasa are mid-range in size, both males and females sport leathery, fin-like wings for regulating heat. Their necks are shrouded in a thick, voluminous mane which grows in rounded tiers. Their long toes capped with large talons aid in both digging as well as catching prey (sphiasa are opportunistic scavengers), however their digits are not dexterous. To make up for this evolution has gifted them long, whip like tails which are extremely prehensile. It is not uncommon to see a Sphiasa point or motion with their tails, as often times they prove to more useful than a cumbersome claw.
The main, distinctive attribute of the Sphiasa is their connected, halo-like horns which contain a floating orb held in the space within. This orb is held between the Sphiasa’s horn with the aid of strong magnetic elements within the core of both the horn and the orb. Sphiasa have poor eyesight, and therefore use these orbs and the sight it bestows upon them as their main sensory organ. Because of this, their orb takes on the color of their birth flight, just as their eyes do.
Social
Despite their grimacing faces, Sphiasa are quite contemplative. If one frowns at you, as they are often prone to do, it is more likely that they are just deep in thought. Sphiasa can communicate with one another telepathically, through the use of vibrating signals sent to and from their orbs, similar to echolocation. Because this connection is impossible to establish with any other dragon breed, Sphiasa can often times seem distant to others of dragonkind.
Lairs
Sphiasa lairs are exclusively dug out of the earth, and often times contain traps to stop unfriendly intruders. Their orb sight allows them to sense where dirt and rock may be loose or dislodged underground, they then clear away the loose debris and fortify the walls of their new lair with their saliva.
Tactics
Sphiasa are not physically strong, and despite their reasonable size and build their tails and horns can prove to be quite fragile. Instead, their mind is their true weapon of choice. Traps and mazes are not uncommon methods of defence but if a Sphiasa is confronted directly they may resort to using their orb sight, which when directed at a given dragon long or intensely enough can cause nausea, headache, and even internal damage.
Ahh Galetta (2788) over on FR just made me the most gorgeous headshot of my Progen, River! She was moved by River's backstory (on my lair page) and decided to draw her without her red neck wrap, showing off those nasty scars...

Previewing things on my bb. I just scatterscrolled him and he became even more yellow, YESS!
But I can’t decide how I like him? I really like the iri though. Just gotta decide if it’s worth wasting the 175k treasure OTL
Soo… What do people think? Iri or Tiger? Gembond, Circuit, or nothing?
whoops wrong acct.
Guardian Dragon portrait banners are now AVAILABLE!
Now everyone can have their very own Guardian to keep a diligent vigil over their page. There are currently three slots open, first come first serve, with prices starting at 30k treasure each although these price are subject to change depending on complexity of character design and any minor alterations that may need to be made to the lineart to suit the commissioner’s requests.
Contact me at YuJie (#28788) to reserve your slot.
Ahh man these are gorgeous and I have a ton of basic girls I'd have done but they have no genes and acessories so I'd kind of go broke getting them? D:
Thwarted again.
We wanted to add a bit more to the giveaway but with kirin being on vacation, the constant lag on the site, the Ice boycotts I’ve been hearing about (understandable, but I don’t even participate in dominance so it’s a bit of a pain not being able to sell, lol), and the asks we’ve been getting...
Hello! Ink here, #1101. I am a water flight member.
I'm generally not the most funny, witty, intelligent, or tactful person to be around, but especially when it comes to internet games like this, I'm a conflict moderator and I try to be as nice as possible to everyone possible. I started a skype chat in my flight and I thought it would be an awesome way for everyone to get to know each other! Which, it was, and it was one of the best experiences I've had with people on this site, period.
I was starting to get a great homey/familial feeling from the chat when it had it's problems, and some people started arguing and namecalling. I, along with many others, left the chat. I was really hurt that a group of such well bonded people were capable of animosity like that, and not mature enough to keep their namecalling out of the chat.
Thanks to friends like Tortallan, Jun, and other wind flighters, I found my second home in the wind flight skype chat. They accepted me with open arms, and I'm very grateful of their benevolence. So here's my shoutout to the wind flight in general. Thanks for taking me in. Dominance aside, there are a lot of good people on FR and I think that needs to be highlighted more--not the drama.
As for the giveaway I'd love first and foremost, pool 1, but if not, 3 or 2.
Commission for GwenniethePooh on FR.
More dragon-y babbies.
Einjar may be a bit preoccupied with his appearance, but his mate Rust is even more so. And despite being a Mirror (thought of as savage and violent, often times as primitive too), she likes to look fabulous, even when hunting and battling.
cute! :D Something about the gesture/movement in this makes me very happy.
