Great news! Bradley Joseph, the Clapton player who collapsed during Saturday’s game against Sporting Bengal is now out of hospital. He is also going to be in the team list for the final of the GBMT on Monday.

(If you would like to donate a further £1 to help fund Clapton fans on a tight income/budget to get to the final that would be very much appreciated) Paypal in advance to [email protected] with your name(s) and contact information. Let's get the cup back to Forest Gate! COME ON YOU TONS!
Another good match report from our local paper
TOMORROW, Tuesday night football returns to The Dog as we take on Wadham Lodge in the semi final of The Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy. We're 90 minutes from a final, so bring your voices! Here is also a preview of tomorrow's game: https://redmenacefanzine.wordpress.com/2016/03/14/wadham-lodge-h-gordon-brasted-memorial-trophy/
“We are looking forward to making the trip to Clapton and playing in front of the Clapton Ultras.
“We were disappointed not to get anything from last week’s game but we are looking forward to the prospect of putting another run together.
“We have two or three injuries but we will give it a good go.”
Our very own Ultra made it on the bench as Asst. Manager. Only at non-league.
Be Clapton FC assistant manager for the game
Clapton FC manager Mike Walther is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for tomorrow night’s game.
The Tons are facing a long trip to Great Wakering Rovers to face Bowers and Pitsea - a fixture that has been finalised with just 27 hours’ notice.
Due to the last-minute arrangement, Clapton are set to be depleted - hence Mike’s offer made tonight.
He tweeted: “For our game away to @Bowerspitseafc tomorrow night, I am the only member of staff, due to the location of the game I would like to offer the opportunity for a Clapton Fan to become Assistant Manager for the night.”
So get your tweets in! @MichaelWalther5
Important - Clapton FC fixture update
Saturday, March 5
Clapton are due to play Takeley away.
However, with the recent rain, the game is looking very doubtful. Takeley haven’t had a home game in nearly three weeks, their clash with Wadham Lodge on Tuesday was called off due to a waterlogged pitch, and there’s been even more torrential rain since then.
The Takeley player-manager Alex Martin was at the ground on Thursday and found it still waterlogged then. He says: “Not looking good as rain expected.”
Tuesday, March 8
Clapton are now playing Bowers and Pitsea in the league at home.
The two sides were due to meet in the Gordon Brasted Trophy on the same night, but at Bowers’ Les Salmon Stadium.
However, with their amazing run to the semis of the FA Vase giving them a huge fixture backlog, they pulled out of the GBT.
So the clubs will meet at the Old Spotted Dog instead - weather and pitch permitting.
Tuesday, April 8
Due to the above switch, Clapton will now travel to Bowers and Pitsea for an away game.
Important fixtures update.
Clapton reach the cup semi-final
Clapton are now just one game away from the Gordon Brasted Trophy final for the second season running.
The Tons progressed to the semi-finals at the expense of Bowers and Pitsea, who have withdrawn due to their punishing schedule in the FA Vase and the league.
Clapton will now play Wadham Lodge at home in the semi-final on Tuesday, March 15 at 7.45pm.
The final, on Easter Monday, March 28, at 3pm, will again be held at Burnham Ramblers, where the Tons lost 4-2 to Barking in front of a crowd of 360 last year.
Yesterday the Clapton Ultras participated in a football tournament organised by Football vs Homophobia, which was held at the new Arsenal Hub community centre, located adjacent to the Emirates stadium.
Supporters groups from all over the country, as well as LGBT friendly football teams, gathered together in order to assert that homophobia does not have place within football.
The Clapton Ultras employed a high tempo pressing tactics, which led us to notable victories against Stonewall FC and Proud Lillywhites, and a draw against the eventual bronze medalists of East End Phoenix. We finished on the respectable 5th place out of 8 teams.
The games were competitive in nature and the standard extremely good. This was something noted not only by the players, but also by one of the main organisers - Anwar Uddin, the former West Ham and Dagenham and Redbridge man, who was the first captain of British Asian origin in the first four divisions of English football.
There is an old cliche that in friendly tournaments everyone is a winner. This certainly holds for this tournament, but yesterday there was one clear loser as well. It was homophobia, which was clearly shown the red card.
A reminder about tomorrow's game and food bank collection. See you all at the Old Spotted Dog!
In case you missed the historic 8 - 1 victory against Newham yesterday, you can find a very insightful match report here:
http://www.claptonultras.org/season/20152016/newham-fc-clapton-fc-2/
After yesterday's stunning 8 - 1 victory away against Newham, we're excited about Saturday's 'away' game at the Old Spotted Dog against London Bari. Kick-off is 3pm.
Check back here and at @ClaptonUltras on Twitter for weather updates.
Don't forget to bring tinned food to donate to the local food bank we work with.
