Definitely worth figuring out the opening hours to see the #domeoftherock up close. Such a stunningly beautiful building I can’t believe it’s 1200 years old (albeit with a few more recent upgrades). Also a surprisingly tranquil and spacious oasis in the middle of the old city hustle. Great view of the packed #westernwall on the way in. Glad they had cover-ups as my attempt to dress modestly enough was a failure... #jerusalem #oldcity (at المسجد الاقصى المبارك-القدس فلسطين)

View from Golan Heights into Syria. Crazy juxtaposition between the peaceful verdant orchards and vineyards on the Israeli side to the sounds of gunshots and rumbles of war from across the border. The white town in the distance was reclaimed by Assad’s forces yesterday and apparently lots of people have been trying to seek refuge in Israel... Feels so unfair that the accident of birth means I can hire a car at a moment’s notice and travel quickly over perfect roads to this viewpoint, despite hailing from thousands of miles away, yet someone who has spent their entire life looking at these hills can’t make the 5km journey to escape war. The more I see of the world the less I understand. (at Golan Heights)
