Tyler smiled, “Alright then! It’s settled! To the café we all go!”
Tugging at Watson’s leash gently the two took off in another steady paced jog.
Tyler’s mind was stuck on thoughts of Audrin and how this bonfire would play out, the last bonfire they had left a permanent impression on the surfer. He was curious as to what this one would do.
Finally, he was feeling more content with where he was. He had a great boyfriend, amazing friends, and for once wasn’t completely flunking in school. Everything was fine, other than his father who was only doing worse.
The cancer was hitting it’s final stages and Tyler didn’t know how much longer his father had. His mother didn’t visit often, she was typically too busy with the new man she was having an affair with. And his sisters didn’t visit much either because they’d come back sobbing messes.
His heart ached as he thought about it, biting his lip for a moment he looked down at Watson before they both took off into a sprint leaving Todd and Ella to catch up at their own pace.
He reached the café before them, his hands pressed on his knees as he huffed for air. The tanned male wanted to sob at the thought of losing his father, but this wasn’t the time to think his way. The nauseous feeling soon fizzled away and when he looked up he could see Todd and Ella approaching.
Putting on a happy smile he waved to them, “C’mon slowpokes!”
Todd flashed a grin before starting up his jog with the other two, however he could see that Tyler had suddenly looked more bothered. “Hey bra, ya’ o-” the redhead hadn’t even the chance to finish as Tyler took off ahead of them.
"Uh…" his bicolor eyes looked over to Ella and he shrugged, "I…guess he got really into his…jog?"
Shaking his head he continued to jog next to Ella, “So…what’dya do f’er entertainment?” he asked noticing a slight southern draw on his words.
By the time they reached Tyler, Todd was huffing and his heart slammed against his chest, “Jesus Flash, thanks for takin’ off like that!”
Ella watched as Tyler left her and Todd behind, leaving herself challenged to sprint. But instead she remained jogging alongside with the red head.
While answering his question she took a quick look at him then looked up trying to sort out her thoughts, "Uhm... wandering around watching the view I guess. I do that most of the time with friends. When I'm alone, mostly I would go to a track field and practice my sprints," she said, "It's not really much of an entertainment," she looked down blushing.
As they stopped to where Tyler was, Ella stood more calm with a couple of pants next to Todd. Being a previous track and field athlete, jogging was not enough to drain her lungs out.
