Thoughts I've had at work today

-Fuck

-Oh yeah cause they hate this place as much as me.

-Your child is an ingrate.

-I just want some quiet.

Have you ever been called a name/insulted by a customer?

Because I have.

I remember one woman calling me a “bitch” because I politely, but firmly, stuck to our company’s policies. So, when I do my job incorrectly, I don’t deserve a fair wage. When I do my job correctly, I’m a bitch.

I encourage anyone that has a customer use profanity (although I’m a big fan of profanity) towards them or is insulted by a customer in any way, to refuse to continue helping them. They need to know that their behavior is unacceptable. Tell your manager, get them involved. If you can, excuse yourself from the situation. It is not your job to take abuse.

If you can’t let a customer know when they’re being a complete fuckstick by calling them a complete fuckstick, then they aren’t allowed to call you a fuckstick either!

New Work Shirts, Same Old Bullshit

I returned to work for the first time since December today. Starting on April 1st, we were required to wear new work shirts thanks to the merger that took place. The upside is that the color is no longer puke-colored. The downside is that the material of it is shitty. It’s too thick. Some of my coworkers asked me why didn’t I get ones with the store logo on it and I said, “Do I really want strangers to find out where I work?” Seriously, it’s bad enough when the customers who DO know where I work find me and make dumb jokes at me about how I should not be allowed to leave work (HURR HURR. They’re such comedians).

The customers were very welcoming to me, as some of my coworkers. Upset that one of my favorite customers has Stage 4 Lung Cancer. I am terrified for her. I am hoping she will be okay, though I do not know much about stages of cancer.

The coworkers, the rest of them, are still thorns in my paw. Potato Face is still being a fucking dumbass, and then we got a new one, who I will call Flo. She is this annoying ass girl who works in the floral department. She is fucking loud, obnoxious, and annoying. She blares her music in the breakroom and sings TERRIBLY at the top of her lungs. Then she only does about 2 hours of actual work in her 8 hour shifts. The rest of the time, she is off goofing around and talking to everyone else working in the store. I can’t do anything about her music because apparently the breakroom is a free place to do whatever. Next time she blares music, I will blare music LOUDER. I should have done that to one of my former friends. She used to do that to me when I walked in the breakroom. if SHE does that again, I will blare music.

Apparently, it's okay to say racist things in the workplace, but it's not okay to vent about lazy coworkers outside of the workplace. Yep, that makes complete sense!
