She's just another shadow in just another Gotham alley.  Quick and quiet. Anything she sees she did not see, and anything she hears she did not hear. 

(Unless suddenly remembering later suits her needs.) There's a light mist in the Gotham air tonight. Not enough to pose as rain, but enough for water droplets to fall on and lazily roll off her jacket. The night is cold, but not chilling. It is just cold enough to keep you awake, though Selina Cat is night's child and needs no help in that. Awake and alert in spite of the late hour (or maybe because of it) she hears the footsteps behind her. To think she had the alley to herself would be naive. There are always those with eyes open at night (even she can see in the dark). Their presence is noted, and her hand finds the knife in her pocket as a precaution, and she turns her head ever so slightly to cast a glance behind her out of curiosity.

So, this little moment is adorable all on its own.

But the thing that kills me about this is the way Selina straight up punches Bruce to get his attention. Like, she doesn’t tap him lightly on the shoulder or say his name or just something like, “Hey, here, take it.” Selina just silently and forcefully punches him in the arm so he’ll take her quarter.

Also, the look on her face is just too damn precious. Because when she first pulls out the coin, she’s smiling just the slightest bit. Almost like she wants to appear nicer, like she wants to be that person Bruce thinks she isn’t. But Selina Kyle isn’t a patient girl. She can’t wait a few extra seconds for Bruce to turn back around and see the coin she’s offering him.

No, instead she punches him in the arm and immediately stares at the ground before he can look at her. She doesn’t make eye contact, she doesn’t apologize, she doesn’t let him see even a trace of a smile on her lips.

Because Selina is guarded and defensive and she doesn’t like to admit when she’s wrong. So, in this case, she let’s her actions speak louder than her words, no matter how impatient those actions may seem.
