welcome to my madness

i'm a woman that tries to be the best i can be while not pretending to be more or less than i am with a wide variety of artistic interests and opinions on the world that will all be shared here. 

rules of engagement:

minors dni- look all you want, i can't stop you unless you give me reason to block you, but i am not cool with kids who go around endangering adults who have to be concerned about their livelihoods at best, and their lives at worst just because they were under the reasonable assumption that they were talking to someone legal. i’ve personally seen it happen, as i’m sure many have. i will take measures to protect myself and anyone who i know is above board.

if you can’t say nothin’ nice, don’t say nothin’ at all- i understand everyone has different opinions, and they’re fully entitled to them, but if you can’t present your opinion diplomatically, then don’t expect to be acknowledged. i will not answer any private messages that only serve to insult me, but i will likely share them, and any insulting asks, to make a point if i feel the need. 

attacks on race, sexuality, gender identity, religion, ethnicity, or anything that makes someone who they are will get your ass blocked faster than someone can take a belt to it, which is what bigots deserve. you can hate an institution without hating the people that belong to it, which i’m all about raising awareness for. an example is if religion comes up, you can say you hate the general religion without attacking the people. if they feel attacked, that’s on them. truly shitty people are going to always be shitty, and it has nothing to do with any of the above aspects of their being. i’m all for holding them in contempt, but keep shallow disputes off this blog. some people just act shitty until they gain new information- i’m hugely guilty of that- so i try to extend a little patience and courtesy. if you insist on being combative and non-negotiable, you’ll be blocked. 

this will more than likely be added to as i remember what i couldn’t think of when i wrote this, and as i find that there is more stupidity out there than i currently realize. i apologize if it seems like word salad, i really tried to make a solid point. i genuinely try to be a loving and empathetic person, but i take no shit when it comes to discrimination and mistreatment of people who’ve done nothing wrong.

had an ex-friend, who admittedly wasn't for Trump, but suddenly started yelling about leaving the kids alone and kink at pride. They also said the Trans community had bullied them out of their point of view and they were "sick of it". I didn't have the words at the time, I just blocked them. I was earnestly so taken aback, and truthfully didn't have the words. Like adrenaline made my brain shut off. But I also realized that while I disagreed with them, I didn't have a solid argument. Over the past couple of years I've been reading and learning, listening and talking to those who argue FOR Kink at pride and why, and I realized today after seeing a reddit thread and now this, why I didn't agree with them about "No Kink at Pride" and why I feel like it's part of the protest of the LGBTQIA+. Hetero expression is ok, even in public, even if those public events are considered "adult". These things are normalized and kids ARE exposed to, even encouraged to participate in. IE: - Mardi Gras - Spring Break - Hooters just to name a few. They're REALLY popular though and I never hear people screaming "BUT THINK OF THE KIDS", and you know why? Because it is ASSUMED that parents, PARENTING their kids, talk to them about what these things are, what they mean, and what consent is. So Kink at Pride should be handled the same way. Talk to your kids about it, explain to them what it means, and if YOU don't know what it means, research it. If you ASSUME you know, without learning, you're doing humanity and your kids a disservice. Also, naked bodies, kink, and all that isn't inherently PERVERTED. It is ALWAYS between consenting adults and never expected of kids to be involved. Individuals who look at it as a sin, or a vice, THEY are the ones who are painting it as perverted. Explaining to your kids what ALL of this means is important because there are very real adults who will take advantage of their ignorance. In a way, Kink at Pride is encouraging people to learn about what expression is and isn't and trying to teach folks things they don't usually think about (even though they should.) From my experience with my family, my dad specifically, I was taught sex = love. this would shape my relationships even into my adult years and even now. But I recently discovered i'm Grey Ace, but for so many years thought that if i didn't provide sex, or get sex, then I had failed. In high school I thought friends who were nice to me, were interested in me and I thought a romantic relationship was the next step so that I could provide sex in order to show them my "love" or "interest" in them. My dad taught me that. My Mom taught me that with her string of relationships I witnessed from out of the womb until I was 17 and moving out. I also had everything explained to me as a sin, to be avoided at all costs. don't ask questions, just don't do it. so as a former child who was set up for failure and used those young life lessons to shape myself until I finally found someone healthy enough to help me, help myself, I beg y'all to have these conversations without religion involved and with facts. Not your "beliefs" you've done no research for, or your bias based on your own history, learn, listen and do better. Shared information benefits us all
