IT HAPPENED TO ME: I Waited Until My Wedding Night to Lose My Virginity and I Wish I Hadnât [x]
This is a long read but itâs interesting. Really sad though.
Some day Iâll write my thoughts on how the church push to make me feel guilty about any sexual encounter made me take so much longer to realize I was raped. But this. This describes what so many women in the church to through.
Artist T.T. Brett reimagines Disney Princesses as different races to address issues such as diversity and beauty standards.

The 60âs, 70âs, 80âs, and 90âs seem to have all separate, unique personalities, but these last 17 years seem to just be one big chunk of time that has no significant meaning.
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT
These last 17 years have an âoh noâ feel that just gets bigger and louder with each consecutive year
I was watching Hasan Minajâs episode on fast fashion and he talked about how fast fashion companies put out new collections each week instead of having a major release 4 times a year for each season. And then drew the comparison to Netflix putting out new content every week unlike traditional tv channels that also used to introduce new shows seasonally.
Dissolution of unions and rise of gig economy means working class people donât take regular holidays and vacations anymore they just work continuously until they have a nervous breakdown or have random short term gigs interspersed with random intervals of under/un-employment.
And these are just two ways in which late stage capitalism is eroding our sense of time.
Buzzfeed did an article on the effect of non-linear social media on our sense of time:Â https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/katherinemiller/the-2010s-have-broken-our-sense-of-time
Speaking of seasons. Climate change is literally changing how seasons work. Plants are blooming at the wrong time. Animals are coming out of hibernation at the wrong time.
Donât make things complicated, simple is the bestâ¤ď¸

A powerful quote from the memoir of Chanel Miller, âEmily Doeâ from the Brock Turner case.
Glenda Jackson and Kit Harington star in a BBC Radio 4 production of @neil-gaiman âs Chivalry. It will air on December 25 from 4pm to 4.30pm.
âNeil Gaimanâs delightfully quirky story, in which Mrs Whitaker discovers the Holy Grail in a charity shop.
In this sweet and funny tale, Mrs Whitaker meets her dear friend Mrs Greenberg for a chat over home-made macaroons. But her charity shop find soon makes her the focal point of a most important quest.
When a handsome young man who says heâs called Galaad comes asking for the Grail, he ends up helping out with the gardening and heavy lifting around the house.â
Neil has also confirmed on twitter that you can listen from all over the world. Itâs not restricted to the UK.
Chivalry is after the Queenâs Speech on BBC Radio 4.
At 7 am on Xmas Day on Radio 4 you can listen to highlights from the PLAYING IN THE DARK readings and music we did, including David Tennant reading some of Good Omens.
You can listen to it anywhere in the world they have internet.
I remember being a lonely 22 year old, writing through the Christmas season in a mostly empty house, with BBC Radio 4 keeping me company (there was a sequel to Cold Comfort Farm on that year, I remember) while I wrote short stories nobody would ever read. Itâs nice, and odd, to feel that Iâve given something back.
I hadnât heard this story until Levar Burton Reads covered it last year - itâs very good and I canât wait for this radio broadcast!
a neurotypical: if you have noise sensitivity why do you listen to loud music?
me: one loud noise is easier than 20 loud noises all at once.
Me: Loud music that I can control is better than loud noises I cannot control
Me: Loud noises that are rhythmic, familiar, and pleasurable to me are better than sudden ugly chaosÂ
Relatable. (Not to claim I understand this to the degree of the OPs, but I definitely have a degree of this...)Â
Okay but the âwhere are the kidsâ âtheyâre out backâ made me ugly laugh
