perfect afternoon

i imagine who i would be at different points in history. which traits are so innate they transcend time? i can imagine myself an abolitionist, a craftsman, a quiet revolutionary who binds their breasts to study. but in each of them im still there. im still me. i worry that i end up alone in every timeline.

i started working on the ya novel i’ve been toying with again. it’s about manic depression and boarding school and shakespeare.

i love him. i love my simple three-legged son.

went to a broadway show and ate ramen. here is the evidence. new york is magic and terribly lonely. i am thinking about what it means to truly grieve. i am trying every day not to obliviate my brain with drugs or meaninglessness.
