i hate to keep tapping the sign that bad things dont happen to characters the authors hate.
if an author hates a character they are fridged or removed from the narrative. when an author loves a character they are put through unimaginable horrors.
Have you noticed that, in that last scene with Lestat and Louis, they are sitting on exactly the same side of the bus and at exactly the same tables as Louis and Babystat were at the end of ep4? But now they are closer.

At the end of the day, my main regret is that there was no justice for Nicki. He remained merely a sad example of the rule that you should not turn the sick into vampires. An unappreciated first love. 😭

Before we (hopefully) revisit the Paris trial in the finale:
In addition to all the fleeting signs in Ep. 2.07 that Lestat was not only mind-fucked but also physically assaulted before the trial (his bruised hands, his dizziness, the fact that he could barely stand), on a recent rewatch I also noticed that in Ep. 2.08, when Lestat is no longer shown through the lens of Armand's account, we can see bruising under his eyes—as if he had previously been wearing heavy makeup to conceal it.

In this third season, Lestat simply served up over 30 looks.

It seems that love has made Daniel radically change his style. Not only does he have this ridiculous suntan (and seems proud of it), but he's also wearing a stylish new shirt with huge red gerberas. That's quite a statement after three seasons of boring dark plaid shirts and T-shirts. The man is definitely in love! And I don't think it was Armand's gift—I think it was FOR Armand.
Interesting: Sam Reid, speaking to Screen Rant, gives an idea of where Gabriella's character development is heading:
"With that character... once that arc is kind of complete, with Gabriella in a way, and that spell has been broken, I think she is sort of free to become all of the things... people love about her. Because she's got a wonderful thing, these wonderful elements of her."
That suggests that Lestat will finally establish boundaries and stick to them.
And whatever those "wonderful elements" are, it would be difficult to appreciate them after the abuse. Gabriella is certainly entertaining, but it would be hard for her to become "wonderful."
