Does anyone else get really emotional about the fact that Luke Garroway’s parabatai left him for dead? Like… becoming parabatai is a huuuge decision. You’re literally binding your souls. Wither thou goest I will go… where thou diest i will die, and there will i be buried… the angel do so to me, and more also if aught but death part thee and me. That’s the most beautiful, most pure commitment you could ever make to someone, and that’s what he and Valentine had. And then Valentine literally threw him to the wolves. Told him that if he was any decent Shadowhunter he’d end his own life. Literally the other half of his soul, his brother, his best friend, orchestrated his death. And then Luke freaking survives and has to face Valentine - look at this man who was everything to him and who betrayed him and *sobs* then goes on in life thinking his parabatai, even if he was cruel and horrible, is freaking dead, and *sobs* rAISES HIS DAUGHTER AS HIS OWN because Clary IS HIS DAUGHTER and no one else’s and becomes Simon’s father figure too and is always there and never pushes Jocelyn for more than she can give and look if you wanna get into the books he never had a father himself, his mother left him and his sister, and then his sister won’t speak to him when he changes and when they finally are speaking again she becomes endarkened and dies just like Luke Garroway man he is too good and too pure for us and Isaiah is perfect and beautiful and giving us this wonderful father figure and friend and we just don’t deserve him ok
