#24hourproject: Starting tomorrow (Friday 18th) evening at midnight to end on Saturday at midnight. I played it on the four previous years (and it’s exhilarating), not this time: it’s your turn!

Je suis toujours Charlie — heir to the black humour, “mean and nasty”, of Hara-Kiri.
One year ago, Cabu, Wolinski, Honoré, Charb & Tignous were murdered (and other people I didn’t know) — it’s still hard to believe. Probably because I was a Charlie’s reader & grew up with these journalists cartoonists.
For Franck.

They were algerians, americans, armenians, belgians, britishs, burkinabes, chileans, frenchs, germans, italians, malians, mexicans, portugueses, romanians, serbians, spaniards, swedish, tunisians, turks, venezuelans.

They left 54 orphans (at least).

«[…] Vous êtes amoureux. Loué jusqu’au mois d’août. Vous êtes amoureux. — Vos sonnets La font rire.
Rimbaud.
(“You’re in love. Praised until the month of August. You’re in love — Your sonnets make Her laugh. All your friends disappear, you are not quite the thing. — Then your adored one, one evening, condescends to write to you…!
That evening… — you go back again to the dazzling cafes, You ask for beer or for lemonade… — You are not really serious when you are seventeen And there are green lime trees on the promenade.”)

Mon compagnon est mort.
On July 31, 2015, during the night, my closest friend died.
He was a companion of life, a friend, a partner, a brother, a dad for my daughter, a colleague. Sometimes a lover, sometimes a bodyguard, sometimes a home nurse, and so many things more.
Tormented soul, he was a painter, and a gifted journalist artistic director for a living.

“No one was to blame for what happened, but that does not make it any less difficult to accept. It was all a matter of missed connections, bad timing, blundering in the dark. We were always in the right place at the wrong time, the wrong place at the right time, always just missing each other, always just a few inches from figuring the whole thing out. That’s what the story boils down to, I think. A series of lost chances. All the pieces were there from the beginning, but no one knew how to put them together.” Paul Auster.
