Undercover autumn/winter 2017
every american high school drama has this hallway
Okay, but… everyone sees the difference, right? It’s not just my neurodivergence. Everyone can see why we would imagine places like Japan to be some magical place between our world and the fey realm when we see an American school’s cavelike fluorescent illness next to a hallway that’s naturally lit. You can’t tell me that one of these places isn’t inherently and incontrovertibly healthier and happier than the other. For no other reason than the one having windows. The way we build our spaces informs what our society values. And some of us fantasize of living in a world—even a very mundane one—that values health, nature, balance, and humanization.

thank you chappell
please god stop talking about diets and weight loss in front of kids. especially if those kids are girls. and especially if you’re someone those kids look up to. but really just stop talking about about diets and weight loss when children are in earshot at all. I promise you you’re doing far more harm than good.
