Hope deferred.

Proverbs 13:12 // Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but longing fulfilled is a tree of life. 

There may seem to be a delay in what you hope for. Waiting anxiously and yet it is still an unfulfilled dream or promise. But this delay will not go on forever. It has just been postponed so hold on tight. God does not revoke His Word, He does not go back on His Nature. 2016 is not over yet.  & when its fulfilled, it is like a tree of life - blooming in the season, bearing fruits, blessings, an open Heaven.

Messiah.

27th August; Holy Spirit spoke to me.

I was in the midst of clearing out the dishes and my heart was deeply troubled. It felt as though we had lost the spiritual battle. Experienced broken spiritual connections & of course, many tears. No, I could not stand it, I am not won over, devil’s got no victory. So I asked God, still with a troubled heart, how do I move forward from here? & though my neurons were firing rampantly, Holy Spirit spoke with His still small voice.

“Who do you say I am?”

Since the time God dropped Melbourne in my heart, He kept bringing me back to this young man named Simon Peter. Peter, a previously known coward who eventually met a glorious death for Christ, is also the man whom God revealed to about who Jesus is.

“You are the Christ, Messiah.”

Messiah _ The Promised Deliverer. Was God going to deliver me out of the storm? Yes. Was God going to extend His hand out as I sank with the waves? Yes. Was God going to take me to the season of breakthrough? Yes. Yes He was, and Yes He will.

And when I heard Him ask, “who do you, Andrea, say that I am?” I replied “Messiah”. I kept repeating it, I kept saying Messiah and declaring Messiah over my situation. He gave me a revelation for the season that I was in. The season of heartbreak that will lead to a season of breakthrough because He is who He says He is.

3 October; I have stepped into the season of breakthrough.

Part time job, overflow of finance and good grades, healing of my heart from past hurts, grasping onto who God says I am and embracing His Father Love for me.

His Favor for me is for life. I will walk in His Favor and He will bless me. I will walk in His identity as a daughter of the most High, my Abba Father, Papa God who loves me dearly. & I believe He will restore relationships.

Moving from an orphan spirit to understanding sonship and still on this journey onwards to fulfill His call upon my life. Refining of visions and affirmation of His call.

It is Beautiful.

It is Beautiful, that You knew me even before You formed me in my mother's womb. It is Beautiful, that You know the number of strands of hair on my head. It is Beautiful, that I was once lost and now I am found. It is Beautiful, that You have made me brand new. It is Beautiful, that You called me out of darkness and shame, and into New Light. It is Beautiful, that now I have a hope and a future. It is Beautiful, that even after many years, You still call me by name. It is Beautiful, that my purpose in life is You. It is Beautiful, that no matter how small or insignificant I may seem, You see me. It is Beautiful to be known by You. It is Beautiful to be loved by You. Love that knows no ends. Thank You Father, You are Beautiful.

Soar on Eagles Wings

Have been so blessed the past week. Thank You Jesus. 

In every season, You have never failed. Even though there were those days when I thought You have forgotten about me and my family, I will tell myself each day and each time that I cried that You haven’t and that You remember. Because I know who You are, Lord, Maker, Saviour - Constant and True. 

Soar on Eagle’s Wings; a vision that I vividly remember. Thank You Father that You take me under Your Wings and You take me on Your Wings. Greater heights we go, together and not on my own. 

There will be resistance and there will be the wind against you. And you will think its taking you down, but you didn’t realise that this wind is taking you higher than you have ever been before. - Pastor Leif Hetland. 

& I awake again today, satisfied in Your likeness.

Undeserving. Deserving. 

... more than what you can even imagine that you are.

It’s been two months //

What does it mean to be a Soldier for Christ?

I’ve been thinking about this... what does it mean to be a Soldier for Christ, a Soldier whose life laid down before God and meant for service in His Kingdom. 

After watching the recent Korean Drama, Descendants of the Sun, I was really intrigued by the passion of the soldiers for their nation and it occurred to me, do Christians have that same passion to serve our Lord?

Believe it or not, the truth is this that no matter where we are, we are fighting. Whether you are on home soil or away, a soldier in uniform or just a regular student, you are an appointed soldier called to fight in an unseen battle. 

Ephesians 6: 12 // For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

The reality of the spiritual realm is before us and only if we’re Spirit-filled then we would know. Many are oblivious to this that there is a battle out there for our souls. At this very moment in time your leaders are fighting for you, the angels are fighting for you, and as a matter of fact, Jesus fought for you. We praise the Lord because He fought and has already won the battle for us!

How then shall we approach this battle? By our flesh? Of course not! 

2 Corinthians 10: 3-4 // For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Remember that the most powerful weapon is already in our hands  -   PRAYER. 

My leader shared a life-changing testimony of a Satan-worshipper who is now a God-pursuer. This man in his experience tells us a secret that the devil is most afraid of the weapon God has made ready to us. Through Jesus we are able to go right before God in prayer and this makes the devil tremble because he knows that through our prayer, we’ve asked the Holy Spirit to step in and battle for us. How can the devil even stand before our God!

So then maybe if we choose to spend more time in prayer and less time dwelling in worries and anxiety, we probably will realise that the battle we fight is not a losing battle but is already a VICTORIOUS in the name of Jesus! 

*I am preaching this to myself because I am human too.* 

... and this is to the Soldiers for Christ. 

Do not give up. The devil is going to attack you and aim to scatter the flock but press on heavenward and fight from the Victory that Jesus has claimed for you. You’ve probably heard this many times but it is true that you do not walk alone in your battles. He, together with the Body of Christ, will fight with you on this. There is Power in Unity.

Genesis 11: 6 // And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.

Come out of your zone and recognise that you are stepping on a battleground. If you are looking at your life right now and it looks like a losing battle, fret not because the Truth is this that He has overcome the world. The failures you currently face is not failure to God but an opportunity for His hand to move and prove that He is God. He will show the world that the devil is under His feet. 

Go out with His Armour, my fellow Soldier.

It has almost been a month since I arrived in Melbourne and I just thought of livening my Tumblr with updates. 

This vision that I first thought was impossible has come to pass. I faced a lot of obstacles during my preparation but God delivered me through every step of the way. One obstacle at a time, He showed me that He is Faithful and He is a God who keeps Promises. I am here not because of my abilities but because I trusted in my God who is far more abled.

When I received a sign from God to go to Melbourne to further my studies, my mind was on a one-way track to my future. I had no consideration for anything else and at that time I was certain I could make it. But along the way, when the waves got bigger and circumstances were telling me “no, it is impossible”, I started to lose faith and just like Peter, started to sink because I was distracted by fear. But in that time, God did not forsake me. He stuck out His hand and reached out to me like He did with Peter, and continually assured me through His Word, Pastor, my leaders and during sermons that Melbourne is where He has called me to. It was during Radical Conference when one of the Pastors preached on God’s providence and that if He calls you, He will provide & that we will meet His Providence at the other side (or when we reach the place He has called us to.) & y’know what? I got to witness first-hand God’s providence in this calling He has for me. Finances was a big struggle but nothing was too big for Him! He remained faithful and that’s why I am where I am today. So of course I pressed on and kept my hope in Him because all He called me to do was simply to have faith in Him.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see - Hebrews 11:1

It is the beginning of a new season. I am definitely not free from the struggles but each time when I deal with homesickness and the emotions that accompany it, God brings me into a deeper level of intimacy with Him. I am really glad that He loves me so much! Ending off with something really encouraging.. I have been receiving a lot of confirmation from my fellow brothers & sisters-in-Christ here. 

CHURCH. RELATIONSHIP. INTIMACY. JESUS. LOVE. OVERFLOW.

These are just the many words that God had dropped in my heart before I came and He did the same with many who are here right now. Revival is happening. 

Can’t wait!
