Listen!! i've only played up to com but riku is!!!#look here's the deal. that meteor shower promise. okay #it was a promise to protect someone (sora/riku) dear to you #and i was reminded of aigis' own promises to the protagonist #to always be by their side. to always keep them safe #“you don't need to save the world to find meaning in life. all you need is something simple. like someone to take care of”#aigis' lines to protag about treasuring the memories they share. now and forever (love through all eternity)#and (p3 spoiler) how after everyone forgets about 1/31 and protag's sacrifice. aigis is the only one who remembers #i have yet to catch up with kh of course. i haven't seen anything “p3 ending” level yet #but the relationship between sora and riku is being set up in a similar way ☝️#i feel like i should clarify. i don't think protag-aigis-yukari and sora-riku-kairi are interchangable or anything like that #i'm just observing shared trends in narrative roles/tropes i enjoy #i literally typed like 40 more tags about this but i got nerfed lol. all kh fans should play p3 and vice versa #thesis approved by ME because i have played both and am being driven MAD over it!!!

My take on a Riku Kingdom Hearts 4 design :)c

#kh #kingdom hearts #riku #riku kh #my art #i'm really happy with how this design came out but i feel like some parts are too overt haha #being exposed to ntwewy as a young teenager left a permanent mark on my soul (i.e. i love kariya's design #and i was inspired by his jean/legging combo for this one)#i shaped the holes in the jeans so they resembled star shapes because 1. meteor shower promise (furthered by keychain)#and 2. oblivion special effects #the keychain... there were a few factors involved in my decision to integrate it and all are embarrassing (shippy)#1. meteor shower promise #2. (twewy spoiler) at the end when neku went missing beat began to adopt a lot of his characteristics #neku got rid of his headphones and beat started wearing headphones is the main example on my mind #to that end. i think since sora shedded the keychain after the first game. riku should start wearing it #(i really truly sincerely believe that beatneku are going to be alluded to or explicitly shown in kh4 #because of how many opportunities there would be to explore soriku's relationship through them #subject for another day though!! gnaws at bars of enclosure)#3. . oh actually this one is so specific it is best left unspoken for brevity's sake #i saw some people discussing how sora's hair in kh4 closely resembles how it looked when he was a kid #so i took that same principle and applied it to riku #hm . not much else to say about this one i fear #on another note. i suppose #i think it's funny how every riku kh4 design i've seen has included him in a motorcycle/biker jacket #we all unanimously agree he should ride a motorcycle. this is fantastic. we are going to be SERVED when his design drops

#body horror #body horror tw #mcr #my chemical romance #my chem #gerard way #mcr gerard #my art #this was drawn back in october i think!#i heard about this art program called heavypaint that has a lot of stylized discolored brushes #when i saw this edit i knew i had to try and recreate it in heavypaint!#this was my first time experimenting with the program. i intend to use it even more because it's genuinely the coolest thing #i was originally going to recreate the rest of the band in this style #but working on this one just completely sapped me lol #i ran into a lot of issues. i kept losing my progress or my brush strokes wouldn't appear on the canvas or whatever #by the time i was done i had lost my momentum #still. i may return to this

#kingdom hearts #kh #kairi #kairi kh #despite this design being modeled after the strawberry moon i mostly included strawberry and star motifs haha #(her usual pendant is carrying the moon motif though !)#especially 'star-crossed' imagery. hence all the crosses #her gloves are meant to be kind of like meteors or falling stars. which is why they seem to have more 'movement'#it's been several months since i thought about the specifics of this design so sadly that's mostly all i can remember...#i honestly still really like the dress design here! it's a bit complicated but i put a lot of thought into it and i think it looks nice #i wasn't happy with the boots at the time and... i'm still not fully happy with them. they're missing something... but i don't know what...

#twewy #my posts #coco's devotion to saving tsugumi and rindo's devotion to saving shoka #is the main sort of “parallel” in the canonical depiction of their relationships i think #(tsugumi also tends to exhibit rindo-like mannerims and coco shoka-like mannerisms)#but honestly i'm more intrigued by post-canon neo #will talk about this more some other time but i am a huge huge fan of post-canon transfem rindo #and i think seeing coco and tsugumi (independently and their relationship)#would be formative in her understanding of her own gender identity #i think rindo would see herself in tsugumi. tsugumi's soul was sealed inside the mr. mew plush for her safety #like how a trans person may feel trapped in their body or hesitant to identify as another gender #because being closeted can grant more social safety #i know there's nuance to a conversation like this and i'm probably not explaining things super well #but yeah just something i've been thinking about...!

#kh #kingdom hearts #namine #naminé #namine kh #my art #some old namine doodles yay!#i drew the first one around mid-march. i was just finishing up reverse/rebirth at the time #drew the second in mid-april #classic me drawing things that require me to think a lot #the first one i was thinking about negative space #her notebook is blank like her dress. it all blends into the surroundings. creating a void where a person should be #the second drawing is pretty maximalist i think. i was trying to explore ideas in as many ways as possible #there is no concise way to explain what i have created here so you'll just have to think for yourself 👍#understand through Seeing understand through Perceiving rather than just my words #i like how namine's design is so simple yet it conveys a lot about her character #especially the sandals. they're awesome #i hope she gets a cooler outfit at some point though. standing beside the other characters she looks out of place #i know it's probably intentional but still lol. give her some high-rise pants and a blouse or something. she'd own that #anyway i can't wait for the “thank namine” action that's definitely going to happen #jiminy was all like “i'm going to write a reminder for us to thank namine after we wake up :D”#girl no one even reads that journal...#donald forgot kairi's name and didn't think to check the journal even though it was written right there #(i know because when he forgot i literally checked the journal to see if her entry was erased TToTT)#even then. this memory-altering business evidently came with a clean journal last time #so it's likely that the journal is going to be wiped again. then what. no more reminder...

#twewy #my posts #partially influenced by my own headcanons and actual textual evidence #also based on 1. my own understanding of gender sexuality etc and 2. how i think the character would actually identify #categories are extreeemely broad because if i were any more specific each character would have their own tier lol #for further breakdown on some of the more vague ones:#rindo transfem lesbian (after a post-canon journey of self-discovery) (out of all headcanons this is the one i'm most passionate about)#coco nonbinary lesbian. kariya trans man and bisexual. kaie nonbinary (i'm waffling between agender and bigender) and aro/acespec #shiki is a lesbian but bisexual readings of her are fun too #i like to think a reason why she idolized/envied eri in twewy was because she thought eri was straight. an internalized homophobia moment #once she accepted herself and eri also came out as sapphic they got together yay!!#neku homoromantic demisexual. or biromantic homosexual. the specific reading i prefer depends on how i feel :P #i'm a beatneku lover so just throwing that out there... i think neku and shiki are mlm/wlw solidarity+friendship #shiba gay and somewhere on aro/ace spectrum #i think kanon may have dated girls in the past but realized she didn't feel attraction to them #ryoji's not like conservative homophobic but he's not an ally. you tell him you're gay and he's like "okay whatever. buy my product #“buy my gay flowers boy”#joshua is a weird one because he's definitely queer. probably gay. but the gayness has like five other layers to it #largely i think just his relationship with neku alone is very nuanced. they're not exactly romantic nor platonic #i can't see them doing typical couple things but they're definitely not “just friends”. but i don't see them as queerplatonic or familial #we don't know enough about joshua to determine if his experiences with attraction are usually this layered or if it's just neku #hanekoma's probably trans and/or aro/acespec but he's not revealing anything. konishi's too focused on her job to contemplate queerness #kubo thinks gender/sexuality speculation is contrived and he's too focused on the job and he's part of a hivemind anyway #suzukichi went in the unknown tier because... i can't pin him down... he could be anything...#yammer could also be anything. contrasting shooter who i think gets small crushes on guys sometimes #and yeah that's all! i take constructive criticism

#kh #kingdom hearts #kairi #kairi kh #my art #drew this back in march last year! i believe it was the same day i finished playing kh1 #i had to study for an exam but i wanted to draw kairi instead so 👍#this one was really fun! the direction changed as i was working on it #originally i planned to use the default colors #but when i realized i couldn't accurately represent the thalassas i shifted to selecting the colors by hand #i had also drawn the charm much smaller in the sketch but it got bigger when i started rendering #something i struggled a lot with in this one was the face #i had difficulties with shading it and i thought i made her expression too creepy #but i got somewhere i liked though #i think i only found her expression offputting because of just how much of her face is covered up. it limits personality #SLAms head directly on table. i just had a thought #if meteor shower promise between sora and riku is real and that's how sora got his necklace #that was a promise to protect each other and sora was not expected to return the necklace. the charm #by contrast. the kairi-sora interaction in traverse town...#sora said the adventure was too dangerous. clearly sora was in danger too. they could have promised to protect each other #instead their promise related to the charm itself-- not to keep it but to return it #do you get what i'm trying to say here?#sora and riku thought they may be in danger so they promised to engage but keep each other safe. they gave each other a charm to keep #sora and kairi thought they may be in danger so they avoided it and separated. sora promised to return the charm he was given #the interactions played out oppositely...#anyway haha yeah kairi and her thalassa charm! so cool! i love drawing!
