This is a No Name SMP / Lifesteal AU that I've been developing for some months (alongside my brother) called No Name Vigilante AU. Not a lot of it is posted on Ao3 because I've not formally written a lot of the first arc but I thought posting to Tumblr might help me to work on it. That and my brother really wants a fandom to scream at...
The story follows our 3 main characters - Rekrap, Branzy and Skip - in POV. Other characters who appear are Failboat, Jaymoji and Sandiction (of course) as well as members of Lifesteal in the later arcs. Most prominently we have Parrot, Clown, and Yeah Jaron (3HT). The story is set within a modern reality where about 30% of the population is 'enhanced' or have powers/abilities. A majority of the main cast has powers because that's fun and I'm self indulgent.
Here's some basics on their powers:
Branzy - Fulgurkinesis - Able to feel the flow of electricity inside of things and either take it away to power himself or give more electricity to something (he can charge your phone). Weak powers if he isn't tapped into anything, invents all of his own weapons. Basically a human battery.
Failboat - Copy ability - If he can touch you, he can borrow your power. This does not take away the other person's power just duplicates it. He loses the power if he gets hurt. Like Kirby.
Jaymoji - Oobleck (shapeshifting in a way) - Solidifies under physical pressure and can turn into goo/ink to slip under doorways and the like. Splatoon 'I'm a kid, I'm a squid' style.
Sand - Illusions - Can make projections to change his appearance or the environment around him. Only visual, not auditory (can't make sounds) and cannot use the illusions to touch or harm people physically.
Skip - Powerless - L
Rekrap - Danger sense - Can feel physical danger before it hurts him. Isn't able to sense if someone has ill intent or anything like that, it is 100% physical.
We also have hybrids within the AU, Parrot being a bird hybrid, for instance. Hybrids are different to enhanced meaning Parrot is powerless. Both enhanced abilities and hybrid traits are hereditary.
There's also a Hero Association (HA) that hires people to work and protect the city but our No Name gang are just vigilantes at the start of the AU, hence the name.
Anyway, a first little one-shot can already be found on my Ao3 (fic link) if anyone is interested. I'm hoping to eventually post more to there but feel free to ask any questions. I've tried to be vague in this post to not spoil too much because it's a decently big AU but I needed to share this with more people.
It's hard to watch someone you love destroy themselves... but sometimes you have to accept it's not your fault.

Rek (the character, not YouTuber), just like Branzy, is extremely fascinating to me... maybe that's why they're my two favs.
(BTW, the YouTubers themselves are honestly so inspiring. Legit made me want to get into Minecraft YouTube; we'll see if I do it tho haha!)
For one, I LOVE their dynamic, but I also find the idea of Rekrap just watching his friend decay, unable to do anything about it, morbidly interesting. Think about it!-
Like Branzy, I might dive into a Rek theory at some point, or combine the two, but for now just consider this. Your best friend, the person who pulled you out of the mud you found yourself stuck in, is now sinking. You've no way to help him; he won't accept it, but you don't want to just leave him behind. What can you do?

i need to stress to everybody that the mass murder on day one of lifesteal season 8 was Completely reks idea. since then his team has had to repeatedly hold him back. he himself agreed to a peace deal with loppezz and then the second he sees her again goes "are we jumping?" and has to be talked down. after he dies twice and everyone escapes juild, luigi comes in with a desperate "we can't take anymore fights" that sounds Suspiciously leveled at rek, who sheepishly replies "okay okay yeah". the other day rekrap2, who famously by his own proclamation dislikes pvp and practicing it and finds it boring, said the words "i need to do some pvp training".
all this to say: rek is violent as HELL this season, he's at the forefront of everything, people are noticing it, and i am freaking HOPING it means we'll get some beautifully characterized rek content in the fandom
Season 3: Where do I start. Literally just so much founding lifesteal content in s3 but like we have Rek’s countless betrayals by teammates and his “untrappable” status making for a facinating character. Then we have The Cleansing which is still one of my favorite ls moments ever with Team Chaos and like. they’re just working together seamlessly. the freaking dolphin clutch. Rek is Clown’s right hand man, literally one of the first people asked to join even before branzy. They were just so good in s3 absoloute peak all around.
Season 7: They’re actually teamed!!! It’s so coooll and fun! The little teaser where Rek impresses the rest of the team to convince them to let him join. The gathering mats for the osc. The building of the osc. Genuinely one of my fave ls videos ever it’s such a fun and happy time for something so destructive and seeing Rek let loose in that more ruthless way is sooooo fun. Also minrekclown (is that what they can be called?) is such a fun group and they’re all so sweet and it’s cute to see a continuation of the s5 dynamic.
Season 2: Yeah so this is basically all that one video where Clown captures Rek. I’m sorry that was amazing. I think about *achoo* splash potion of poison so often. They’re so cat and mouse and silly with each other and they’re tricking and scamming each other it’s just like such a fun meet-cute especially since this is like one of if not the first main interaction they have with each other on ls.
Season 5: “But Rekrap isn’t in this season!” Well Minutetech heard that and he said No He Is. Like just the fact that Minute asked Rek to help for the abyss arc already adds to its peak but like it’s so cool to see how quick Rek slips back into the ls mentality. He works with the Foundation so well and their little meetings are so reminiscent of Team Chaos. Like not as much specifically rapier duo here but like. They’re working together to save lifesteal. Yeah it’s definitely there
Season 6: Clownpierce checks at the beginning!!! It really was between 6 and 4 for the bottoms two but I felt that their limited but silly interactions at the end of Rek’s tunnel videos were enough to put it here! I think it was very remnant of old seasons to have them all hunting clown but then turn around and team with him. Very sweet. If anyone has a full vod of the charity event from either of their povs that would be so fun to watch.
Season 4: Clown wasn’t on much and while this is a W clownzy season rapier duo just doesn’t interact much, the only real moment they have is when Rek is doing his pancakes or waffles video and Clown commented something that is ominous in the beautiful Clown flirting way
Honorable mentions of rapier duo: N&A s2 (of course) and that one Clownpierce video “We Eliminated Half the Event” which everyone should watch

Woods Update: coming home today. I think. Encountered no faes or cryptids but my buddy Spider-Man got eaten alive by bugs. Or not. Idk I scheduled all of these the night before I actually left so idk what the Critter situation has been

hello hello… so i heard something about a beacon trio hero/vigilante/villain au…...
hi. hello. ahahaha so as it turns out i actually do have the beacon trio juice left inside of me so. Maybe I Can Finish This or maybe not but they are still soooo. crazy to me
did you see them jump rek in lifesteal world. i wish they got more hits in it would have been so fun but anyways,, idk i think the idea of jojo, a hero new to the whole lifesteal scene, hanging out with mr ex vigilante now divine intervention woogie and Scary Evil Villain rek is so lovely.
i also just find it very exciting and fun that, simultaneously, they all like each other very much but jojo and woogie would also kill rek and vice versa yknow. they Know Better than to fully trust rek except they still let their guard down, and it sure sucks to feel betrayed when you weren’t supposed to feel betrayed because you weren’t supposed to expect better of him.
internal conflict galore! except it would be less about feeling like he’s betraying his team or hurting jojo/woogie on rek’s side. i feel like he would only feel bad if he did something like show them all the end portals then they blew them up. if they managed to get the drop on him and he didn’t realize,, on the jojo-woogie side there could be some really interesting stuff about hannah’s relative inactivity and disconnect from them maybe… and the typical consorting with villain stuff
but i do want it to work both ways for them in this au. i want them to catch rek off-guard and manage to hurt team apoc in some way but i also want rek to betray them. for posterity.
anyways here’s a wip of some of it,,
“You know…” Jojo trails off, peering through her visor at Rek. “I don’t really think Apocalypse is the biggest threat out there.”
Rek looks at her from where he’s hoisted himself up onto the railing of the building they're perched on. “Really? Even with all the“ —he makes a complicated motion with his hands that she assumes means the orbital strike cannon— “stuff?”
“Nah,” she grins, because Rek barely even sounds offended. And he’s genuine about that, too. “I think it’s Team BING. But maybe… that’s just the KOS they put on my head speaking.”
At that, Rek gives her a delighted little laugh, tilting his head to the side.
“Yeah, they’re pretty scary. Last time when I got jumped by Pentar and Yungy, it was so cooked for me. Like, there was no saving me from that situation, they took one of my lives.”
She winces at that, making a sympathetic noise. Losing a heart always hurts. “Oof. That’s gotta suck dude, glad you survived.”
“Thanks,” Rek grins at her. Jojo reaches out to pat his shoulder, and he leans forward a little, giving her access. Or maybe she’s just moved closer.
She doesn’t miss how he’s entirely avoided the topic of how dangerous Apocalypse is, though.
Before she can think too deeply on that, Woogie lands next to her with a tumble and a half-grunt-half-yelp, straightening himself with the help of her shoulder.
“Hi! Hello,” he coughs, “sorry I’m late.”
He slants her a suspicious-looking stare which she reciprocates—even if she has no idea what Woogie’s giving her the look for (unified fronts are important!)—before snapping his head back to look at Rek.
Hey, so, um... how would the gang feel if I maybe posted my Lifesteal season 7 hero AU? Would we be cool with that? Like, I know I promised in this post that I would work on NNVAU but, like... Apocalypse and Team BING demand content....
