No posts for this month and the next. I sadly decided i'm moving back to my home country, after years working abroad I miss my parents and friends just being surrounded by people that i know will be by my side when things get rough.
I have to pack all of my stuff and might sell some on facebook market place so lessen the stuff I'll bring back home. So sorry for disappearing on you guys, will be back once everything is settled. - love clover 🍀
so i hate the one I've written, it was all about meeting up again in a public space (a bar) but it wasn't giving When Did You Get Hot vibes, so I'm thinking of writing another one from scratch BUT it actually matches the lyrics well 🥲
I don't know what to do 🫠
I've also been struggle to find time to write since I go to work -> sleep -> wake up -> work -> sleep
should i rewrite to fit make it fit the lyrics better
Update on the Ian fanfic, google docs decided to crash on me mid writing AND DELETED THE WHOLE THING 😭 so I am starting from scratch once again. I forgot the whole plot since I was hella sick while writing and now I can't remember the slightest thing i wrote.
So yes, I will be dropping it a bit later but hopefully this week as I said on my last post. I am so so sorry for the delay ☹️
Summary: After the chaos of their proposal game, Spencer and his partner return for a new challenge: surviving a full day with a robot baby. But what starts as jokes and chaos slowly builds to a reveal no one was expecting…
Warnings: Fluff, mild language, emojis.
A/N: This fic was written as a request 💌
It’s a sequel to Press [E] to Kneel, but both fics can be read as standalones. If you’ve read the first one, you’ll catch a few callbacks and references — if not, don’t worry, you can still enjoy the fic!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The proposal stream didn’t just break the internet — it rewrote the algorithm.
For weeks afterward, your faces were everywhere. Edits of Spencer tearing up during the stream. Fan animations of Pixel-You and Pixel-Spencer holding hands under the pixel moon. Even Shayne’s teary scream of “IF HE DOESN’T MARRY HER I’M RIOTING” had become a viral sound on TikTok.
And then, six months later, you and Spencer got married.
It wasn’t a lavish event or an industry spectacle. Just a backyard, strings of warm fairy lights, and folding chairs filled with people who loved you both. Angela wept into her bouquet. Courtney fluffed your veil before you walked down the aisle. Shayne made no attempt to wipe away the tears that fell down his cheeks as he softly officiated the ceremony.
The night smelled of roses and summer air, and somewhere between the vows and the cake, you caught Spencer’s hand under the table and knew — this was it. This was home.
~~~~~~~~~~
The early months of marriage blurred into a rhythm you didn’t realize you’d been craving.
On mornings when Spencer had early shoots, he’d still stop at your favorite coffee place, bringing you an oat milk latte balanced precariously on top of his scripts. You’d shuffle sleepily to the door in your pajamas that were actually his, your hair sticking up, to kiss him goodbye, and he’d grin like you were the best part of his morning.
On Saturdays you’d wake up to the sound of Spencer fumbling with the stove swearing under his breath while trying to make you breakfast. You would softly wrap your arms around him and try to rescue him, a sleepy smile on your face. He would kiss your forehead, then insist you sit at the counter while he tried again, more determined this time, as though frying bacon was some heroic quest.
At night you would edit side by side in the glow of mismatched monitors, headphones half-on so you could still laugh together at the bloopers. Spencer had a habit of sliding bowls of popcorn onto your desk whenever you got too focused, the salt and butter leaving little smudges on your keyboard. You pretended to be annoyed until he wiped your fingers clean with the edge of his sleeve.
Even chores turned into stories. Like the time you caught him stacking socks beside the laundry basket instead of inside it.
“Really?” you asked, holding up the evidence.
“It’s called pre-sorting,” he argued, completely deadpan.
“It’s called laziness.”
“It’s called saving time for my wife.”
He caught your wrist before you could playfully throw a sock at him and pulled you in for a kiss, effectively putting an end to the argument.
Most nights, though, were quiet.
Like the night you both came home late from a shoot, exhausted and hungry, and burned the frozen pizza because you were too busy slow dancing in the kitchen to notice the oven timer. You ate the edges anyway, sitting on the counter, Spencer’s hoodie wrapped around your shoulders, his laugh warm in your chest.
Or the night you fell asleep on the couch, laptop half-open on your knees, and woke to find Spencer had draped a blanket over you and was sitting cross-legged on the floor, scrolling through a playlist he wanted to share in the morning. When he noticed you stirring, he smiled, kissed your hand, and whispered, “Go back to sleep, love. I’ve got you.”
It wasn’t flashy. It wasn’t the kind of romance that lived in viral clips or trending hashtags. It was steady. Soft. Yours.
And every time you caught Spencer fiddling absently with his wedding band — spinning it between his fingers while he listened to you ramble, or rubbing his thumb over it when you reached for his hand — you knew the truth.
Whatever came next, however strange or chaotic life got, you’d keep choosing each other.
Always.
~~~~~~~~~~
Clips from the proposal stream became internet canon. Edits of Spencer’s tearful grin circulated endlessly, paired with captions like “this is why I still believe in love.” Your sprites, hand-in-hand beneath a pixel moon, ended up printed on fan shirts you had nothing to do with. And YouTube’s algorithm decided every gamer, romantic, or vaguely sentient person needed to see “Quest for the Cinnamon Heart.”
Then came the avalanche of emails.
Within weeks of the proposal stream, your inbox was drowning in invitations. Indie studios wanted your brain on their narrative arcs. Publishers wanted to bring you in for pitch meetings. Directors asked if you’d consult on scripts, or work on ideas for streaming projects for them. Conventions reached out to see if you’d sit on a panel called “Storytelling in the Digital Age” to speak about love and coding.
You weren’t just the person who built a pixel proposal, you were suddenly an influential voice in the industry. You had surpassed your past success.
And for a while, you said yes to everything.
Con after con, project after project. Flights blurred together. Hotels became second homes. Every week there seemed to be another podcast, another showcase, another event where someone wanted you to explain “the heart behind the code.”
Spencer teased you relentlessly.
“You’re speedrunning your own career,” he said one morning as you packed a suitcase for yet another trip. He leaned against the doorframe, sipping coffee, eyes twinkling with that dry humor. “You’ve got achievement pop-ups every day. Next one’s gonna be Achievement Unlocked: Forgot Which City You’re In.”
You stuck your tongue out at him and, successfully this time, threw a sock at his head. He laughed, picked it up, and crossed the room to tuck it back into your bag. Then he kissed your forehead and drove you to the airport anyway.
Smosh thrived off your success too.
Clips of Spencer crying during your game proposal became consistent in fan content, stitched into every Smosh compilation imaginable. Fans stitched your sprites into memes, edits, even a mod someone uploaded to Steam as a joke.
Smosh leaned into it: “Couples Trivia,” “Anniversary Sketch,” “Our Favorite Couple Answer Fan Questions.” Sponsors loved the wholesome chaos, and suddenly Smosh had collabs lined up with gaming brands who wanted the chaos couple to play their games and do ad reads.
The energy was electric. Exhausting. A whirlwind you tried desperately to keep up with.
And at first, it worked.
Then the cracks showed.
At first, your absences were subtle. You started missing shoots. Just one here or there. Then more. Then weeks passed with you off-camera entirely. Fans noticed. Comment sections filled with questions:
— Where’s she been?😭
— Did I miss something?
— Spencer looks lonely, I’m scared😟
— Guys I think she’s just working
The official answer, the one you and Spencer both gave, was simple: you had other projects. And it was true. You were juggling directing gigs, consulting contracts, even the beginnings of a new indie build on your laptop. For a while, that was enough to satisfy the viewers.
But you knew it wasn’t just that.
The truth was: you were running yourself ragged. After more than a year of wedding bliss and back-to-back projects, you were exhausted. The pressure, the deadlines, the travel — even the fun things felt like obligations you were failing to keep up with.
There were nights you came home and collapsed on the couch, too tired to eat. Days you sat staring at code until the numbers blurred and Spencer gently closed your laptop for you. He never scolded. He just knelt by the couch, brushed his thumb over your hand, and said, “That’s enough, love. The world will wait. Sleep.”
So you pulled back.
The night Spencer addressed it on Smosh Live, you weren’t there.
He sat on the couch in the middle of a chaotic bit — Shayne was trying to juggle, Courtney was threatening to throw a bean bag at him — but when someone in chat asked where you were, Spencer went soft.
For a moment, Spencer glanced off-camera, almost like he wished you were there to answer. Then he leaned forward, resting his forearms on his knees. His voice softened in that way it only did for you.
“She’s been working nonstop since… well, basically since the proposal stream,” he said. His mouth twitched into a fond smile. “Like… projects on projects on projects. And after a year of that, she deserves a break.
Courtney stilled beside him, nodding in quiet agreement. Shayne stopped juggling.
“So yeah,” Spencer continued, looking into the camera like he was speaking directly to every fan who’d asked. “She’s taking the time to rest, and—”
Spencer’s smile ticked upward, fond and conspiratorial.
“—she’s working on something new. Something exciting. I’m sworn to secrecy, though. Can’t give y’all any hints.”
The chat flooded with reactions:
— Good for her, fr.
— Protect her at all costs 🫡
— Exciting project?? 👀👀👀
— Spencer is the best hype husband.
You watched the stream from home, curled up under a blanket with a box of tissues, and cried harder than you expected. Not from guilt. From relief. Because Spencer had said everything you couldn’t — with patience, and with love.
~~~~~~~~~~
And then, life slowed.
Ten months. Almost eleven. Time stretched and softened. You learned how to rest again. How to make a cup of tea and drink it while it was still warm. How to take walks without checking your phone every five minutes. Spencer made a ritual of quiet breakfasts, sliding pancakes across the table like he was daring you to cancel another meeting just to eat them with him.
Your first return was small. A Reddit Stories video, Spencer at your side, Shayne reading chaotic posts about marriage fiascos.
Shayne read one about a groom fainting mid-vows. Spencer muttered dryly, “Imagine fainting during your own wedding,” and you snorted so hard you nearly fell off your chair.
The comments were immediate:
— She’s BACK!!🎉
— Spencer looks ALIVE again.
— Not them giggling like newlyweds🥹
— My FAVORITE chaotic couple
Shayne surveyed the two of you laughing, then leaning forward to the camera conspiratorially and stage-whispering said, “They’re holding hands under the blanket, I know it.”
Spencer gave him a flat look. You laughed harder. The fans went feral.
You were officially back.
Next was Beopardy. Categories like “Marriage & Family,” “Guess That In-Law,” and “Baby Photos or Mugshots?” had you doubled over with laughter, tears streaking down your cheeks.
Within five minutes, Spencer buzzed in with “Baby photo” for a mugshot. You laughed so hard you had to cover your face.
“I did that on purpose,” he defended, grinning.
“Uh huh,” you shot back. “Like you ‘on purpose’ forgot my aunt’s name.”
“That was one Thanksgiving.”
The comment section at it up.
— Why are they like this😆
— This marriage is goals.
— Her roasting Spencer>>>>>
Courtney nearly fell out of her chair at one category labeled “In-Law Drama,” muttering, “This game is too real.” You snorted, smacking Spencer’s buzzer when he hesitated. “Go on, cinnamon, you know the answer.”
Fans clipped it a hundred times over.
And then came Smosh Games. You played The Game of Life with the cast.
When your car landed on the Marriage space, you named your husband “Spencer.” No hesitation. And when you landed on a ‘Twins!’ space, you only picked one little figure to put in your car.
“Fitting,” you said with a sly grin.
Spencer rolled his eyes affectionately. “Nice one, babe.”
“Why’d ya do that? Is that cheating?” Angela asked, perplexed.
The chat detonated.
— WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??👀👀
— I would watch them play board games every week.
— MY FAVORITE COUPLE IS BACK!
— ONE KID???🤨
Later, when your little pink car landed on ‘Pay Day,’ you glanced at Spencer and said sweetly, “Look at that, cinnamon. Stability.” He groaned again.
By the time that video aired, fans weren’t just happy to see you, they were invested. You weren’t in every sketch or stream, but you were back. Smiling. Laughing. Dropping little crumbs that no one quite picked up on.
Not yet.
Because the real reveal — the one no one saw coming — was still to come.
~~~~~~~~~~
By the time you and Spencer walked into the studio, the whole place was buzzing.
Cameras were being tested, gels swapped in and out on the lights, and Angela was balancing a diaper bag on his head like it was a party trick. The familiar hum of Smosh chaos was already in full swing, and you felt Spencer squeeze your hand before letting go — a little silent anchor.
Tommy spotted you immediately, practically bouncing on his toes. “Perfect! The chaos couple has arrived.” He clutched his clipboard, smiling. “Angela may have done this challenge first, but you two? You’re going to do it better.”
You raised an eyebrow, smirking. “Define ‘better.’ Because if this baby cries as much as Angela, I’m out.”
Angela gasped, nearly dropping the bag. “Rude! I was a delightful baby.”
Courtney, behind the camera, snorted. “You were probably born yelling.”
Tommy gestured dramatically to the bassinet set in the middle of the room. Nestled inside was the “baby”: a creepily realistic robot infant, its plastic hands curled into fists, eyes closed like it was waiting for the moment to spring to life.
“Meet your child,” Tommy intoned with mock gravity.
Spencer leaned over, peering into the bassinet like it was about to bite him. “…That thing looks like it’s going to ask me for my Social Security number.”
You stifled a laugh and carefully scooped the robot into your arms, adjusting the little blanket around it. “Come on, cinnamon. Look how cute it is.”
“It’s terrifying.” He crossed his arms. “You look like you’re holding the final boss.”
“Better than the tutorial level,” you teased, strapping the baby snug against your chest in the carrier.
Tommy clapped his hands once, sharp enough to silence the banter. “Okay, listen up. This is not the same model Angela had. Hers had keys you could use to take care of its needs. This one—” he tapped the clipboard dramatically— “is advanced.”
Spencer groaned. “Oh no.”
“No keys,” Tommy continued, ignoring him. “No shortcuts. You’ll have to do everything like real parents: feed it actual formula, change its diapers, soothe it when it cries, rock it to sleep. It has sensors, it has routines, it has… expectations.”
Courtney muttered, “Sounds like me on Mondays.”
Tommy pointed a warning finger at her before turning back to you two. “Every action you take gets logged by the system. At the end of the day, you’ll get a full parenting report. Score included.”
Spencer dragged a hand down his face. “So this is worse than most Smosh sketches.”
You bumped him gently with your hip, smiling. “Don’t worry, cinnamon. We’ve got experience.”
He narrowed his eyes at you. “…Do we?”
You just shrugged, rocking the robot slightly like it was second nature. “Guess we’ll find out.”
The robot let out a mechanical coo, startling Spencer into stepping back.
“See?” he muttered. “It already prefers you.”
You pressed a soft kiss to the top of its plastic head, glancing up at him with a grin. “Maybe I’ve had practice.”
Spencer froze for half a second — long enough for the camera to catch it — before huffing and tugging the diaper bag off Tommy’s shoulder. He slung it over his own with reluctant competence. “Fine. But if it explodes, it’s your fault.”
The crew cackled, but you noticed the way his free hand hovered at the small of your back as Tommy herded everyone into position. Just a small touch, steady, like he was anchoring you again.
“Alright, parents,” Tommy said, grinning. “Your day of chaos starts now.”
~~~~~~~~~~
When the video dropped, it opened with over-the-top cheesy intro music and was titled:
CAN WE TRUST THE CHAOS COUPLE WITH A BABY?
The camera cut to you and Spencer standing shoulder-to-shoulder in front of the bassinet, the studio lights making the scene look far more dramatic than it needed to be. You lifted one hand in an exaggerated wave, grinning with mock game-show energy.
“Hey guys!” you chirped. “Today, Spencer and I are being trusted with the most important responsibility of all time…”
The camera panned down in a slow, overly dramatic zoom until it landed on the robo-bundle of joy: a disturbingly realistic baby doll, its plastic eyelids fluttering as its LED eyes blinked up at the lights.
“…parenthood.”
Cue a record scratch sound effect.
Spencer gingerly reached into the bassinet and lifted the robot baby under its arms like it was toxic waste. He held it stiffly at arm’s length, his face set in an unreadable deadpan.
“I don’t like it,” he said flatly. “It feels… judgmental.”
The editors smashed to a quick cut of Tommy off-screen, grinning smugly. “It’s supposed to.”
You already knew what the comment section was going to say:
— LMAO Spencer already hates his own kid
— Paranoid father energy fr
You leaned in, tickling the robot’s chin. “Hi, little cinnamon roll. Don’t worry, Mommy will protect you from Daddy’s sarcasm.”
The baby immediately wailed, a sharp and mechanical sound, loud enough that Spencer jolted, nearly fumbling it onto the floor.
“See?” he snapped, his voice raising half an octave. “It already hates me!”
— NOT THEM CALLING THE BABY CINNAMON ROLL🥹
— The baby knew Spencer was the problem instantly
You couldn’t help laughing, reaching out to adjust the baby in his arms so its head rested properly. “Relax. Just keep its head up. And don’t bounce it too hard, you know what happened last time.”
Spencer’s head jerked toward you. His eyes narrowed, suspicious. “…Excuse me, last time?”
The camera zoomed closer on his face.
You only grinned sweetly, turning back toward the lens with innocent charm. “Moving on!”
The editors froze the frame right there, adding big block text over Spencer’s incredulous expression: [WHAT DID THEY MEAN BY THAT].
— HELLO??? WHAT LAST TIME??
— Are they dropping hints????
Jump cut to the Smosh kitchen: counters cluttered with bottles, wipes, and a suspiciously large tub of formula. Spencer hunched over the counter like a man diffusing a bomb, one eye squinted as he measured out powder with deadly seriousness.
“This says four ounces,” he muttered, squinting at the scoop like it had personally wronged him. “What even is an ounce?”
You slid in beside him, already exasperated. “Cinnamon, just—”
Before you could finish, Spencer tipped the scoop too far. A cloud of formula dust rained across the counter, settling like snow on the backsplash, his hoodie, and your sleeve.
The robot baby wailed.
Spencer groaned loudly, tilting his head back like he was appealing to the heavens. “Same.”
You pinched the bridge of your nose, then brushed formula off your shirt with a sigh. “Honestly, at least you didn’t spill this much at home.”
The moment the words left your mouth, Spencer froze mid-grumble. His head turned slowly, side-eye sharp enough that the editors zoomed in with dramatic music. “…What exactly are you telling them?”
You smirked, shaking the freshly mixed bottle with practiced ease. “Nothing.”
The editors slapped text across the bottom: [suspicion intensifies].
— Already failing as parents🤡
— Spencer: 0, baby formula: 1
— AT HOME????
Spencer reached for the bottle like he didn’t trust you to hand it over. You pulled it back just out of his grasp.
“Say please,” you teased.
His glare deepened. “…Please.”
You handed it over with a grin. “See? Parenting already teaching you manners.”
Spencer muttered something under his breath about “tutorial levels being rigged” as the robot gurgled impatiently.
Cut to a close-up: Spencer awkwardly angling the bottle toward the doll’s mouth while you hovered, arms crossed, judging every move.
You leaned in, voice dripping with mock sweetness. “Don’t forget to burp them after. You do know how to do that, right?”
The baby beeped approvingly once the milk sensor triggered. Spencer smirked, smug for all of three seconds, until the doll let out an ungodly mechanical burp that echoed off the cabinets.
He nearly dropped the bottle. “WHAT WAS THAT.”
The clip cut back to you shaking your head with a smile that was half smug, half something softer.
“Don’t worry,” you said, brushing formula dust from his shoulder. “You’ll get better. You always do.”
For a second, Spencer’s smirk faltered — his eyes catching yours in that way they always did when the bit faded and it was just you two.
The baby gurgled again, breaking the moment.
— NOOOO THE BURP SOUND I’M WHEEZING
— spencer was so proud for 2 seconds 💀
— her coaching him like a real mom STOP🥹
The next cut opened on you slipping the straps of the baby carrier over your shoulders with practiced ease. You clipped the buckles in place, adjusting them with one tug, and then smoothly lifted the robot baby into position against your chest. It clicked into the harness perfectly, its head tucked just under your chin.
You patted its back like you’d done this a hundred times. “See? Easy.”
Spencer stood a few feet away with his arms crossed, watching like you’d just revealed a dark secret. “…You’re awfully good at that.”
You shot him a cheeky wink. “Maybe I’ve practiced.”
The robot cooed, its mechanical speaker letting out a tiny happy chirp, settling snugly against you like it was agreeing.
Spencer blinked, jaw working as if he was chewing on the thought. “…I hate how natural this is for you.”
You laughed, bouncing the robot lightly in the carrier until it gave another approving beep. “If this thing starts judging me again, I’m unplugging it.”
Spencer muttered, “Honestly, same,” but his glare didn’t quite stick — not with the way his ears were turning pink.
You reached out to brush a crumb of formula dust from his hoodie, fingers lingering for a moment longer than necessary. “Don’t worry, cinnamon. It likes you more than you think.”
He gave you a sidelong look, muttered something inaudible, and glanced away quickly — but the camera caught the flush creeping over his cheeks.
— They’re disgustingly cute 😭
— I can’t tell if this is a bit anymore
—spencer’s ears going red HELPPP😂
You adjusted the baby’s blanket one last time and looked straight into the lens, smiling like you had a secret.
Jump-cut to the Smosh conference room: fluorescent lights buzzing faintly, a long table cluttered with laptops, half-empty coffee cups, and scattered notepads. The robot baby sat propped upright in a swivel chair between you and Spencer, its LED eyes glowing faintly blue like a judgmental board member.
Tommy straightened his clipboard at the head of the table, trying to sound professional. “So, for next week’s schedule—”
The baby let out a sharp, mechanical wail loud enough to rattle the water glasses.
Tommy blinked, cleared his throat, and tried again. “As I was saying, we’ll need Courtney for—”
The baby screamed again, louder this time, the kind of cry that drilled straight into the skull.
Spencer sighed, scooping it up with practiced reluctance. He bounced it against his shoulder like a grumpy uncle babysitting against his will. “We’re in a meeting,” he told it flatly. “You’re being rude.”
The robot shrieked even louder, reverberating around the room.
Spencer adjusted the baby’s head with a grumble, turning toward you. “This is just like that other night.”
You froze, blinking too quickly before covering it with a laugh that was just a little too bright. “He means… uh… Shayne’s rehearsal. Total meltdown.”
From the corner, Shayne’s head shot up. “HEY! That was method acting!”
The room dissolved into laughter, but the camera zoomed suspiciously close on Spencer’s little smile, the one that tugged at the corner of his mouth when he knew he’d said something dangerous.
— WAIT THE OTHER NIGHT???
— STOP THEY ARE SAYING TOO MUCH🫢
— Okay but they’re… actually cute parents??
— spencer smiling like he knows EXACTLY what he’s doing 😭
You decided to take a turn, gently lifting the baby from Spencer’s embrace. You tucked the robot tighter into your arms, shushing it softly, and it powered down into a quiet coo. Your hand rubbed its back absently, your thumb tracing slow circles without you even realizing.
Spencer leaned back in his chair, watching you for a beat too long, the ghost of a smirk still on his lips. Finally, he shook his head and muttered, “If this is level one, we’re doomed.”
The day had only begun.
~~~~~~~~~~
By the time you and Spencer made it to lunch, both of you looked like you’d been through battle. Spencer’s hoodie had a streak of formula across the front, and your hair was coming loose from where you’d hastily tied it back after the carrier fiasco.
The video cut to the Smosh kitchen, where the robot baby was strapped into a high chair at the table, blinking lazily at the overhead lights. Its head tilted at an unsettling angle, plastic eyes glowing as though it was silently judging everyone in the room.
You crouched in front of it with exaggerated patience, spoon in hand. “Okay, sweetheart, open wide—”
Spencer squinted at the jar in your hand. “That looks like radioactive waste.”
“It’s applesauce,” you corrected.
He poked it with his finger, recoiling dramatically. “That’s not food. That’s… crime.”
You gave him a long look before guiding the spoon toward the baby’s mouth. The doll emitted a polite beep, its jaw mechanism clicking as it accepted the bite.
The editors zoomed directly on Spencer’s horrified face.
— HE LOOKS LIKE HE JUST SAW A MURDER
— fatherhood does not suit him rn😬
— No bc shes too good at this
The baby gurgled happily, blinking its little plastic eyes. You smiled at it, brushing the bib with mock tenderness. “See? Easy. Mommy’s got you.”
Spencer leaned back in his chair, arms crossed like a sulky kid. “Fine. You win. Again.”
You arched a brow, smirking. “Well, you should know how to do this already.”
His head snapped toward you. “…Excuse me?”
The spoon scraped softly against the jar as you scooped up another bite, your expression maddeningly nonchalant. “Nothing. Don’t worry about it.” You popped the spoon into the baby’s mouth like nothing had happened.
The doll beeped happily. Spencer’s jaw tightened.
— HELLO??? ALREADY??👀👀
— I can’t do this they’re totally up to something
Spencer’s lips twitched, like he was trying not to smile. The sharpness of his glare softened at the edges. For a second, his eyes lingered on you — the way you held the spoon, the gentle curve of your smile — before he muttered, quieter, “You’re enjoying this way too much.”
You leaned in close enough that only the camera could catch it. “Maybe I’ve had practice.”
The robot hiccupped a mechanical burp. You giggled. Spencer groaned. The comments lost their minds.
— NO BC THIS IS FORESHADOWING I SWEAR
— WHAT DO THEY MEAN PRACTICE
— spencer trying not to smile is killing me 😭
Jump cut to an outdoor shot: the camera followed you and Spencer pushing the stroller down a sunny sidewalk. The sun was bright, bouncing off the glass storefronts nearby, and the wheels of the stroller squeaked faintly with each push.
From behind the lens, someone (probably Angela) whispered dramatically like a wildlife narrator. “Family outing. Observe the chaos couple in their natural habitat.”
Spencer had shoved both hands into the pockets of his hoodie, shoulders hunched against the breeze. “You know, people probably think we’d be terrible parents.”
You laughed softly, brushing your hand against his as you pushed the stroller together. “Not according to your mother.”
Spencer stopped walking for half a second, turning to blink at you. “…My mother?”
You smiled sweetly at the camera, batting your lashes. “Don’t worry about it.”
The robot baby gurgled from inside the stroller, as if it was in on the joke.
Spencer sighed, but when the blanket slipped off the doll’s shoulder, he leaned down without hesitation to fix it. His fingers moved carefully, tucking the fabric snug under its chin. For a second, his whole face softened.
You caught the action, tilting your head with a grin. “You’re good at this, you know.”
He huffed, trying for indifference even as his ears turned pink. “…Don’t tell anyone.”
You just shook your head, lips twitching. “You’re unbelievable.”
Spencer glanced sideways, the corner of his mouth tugging upward. “And you love it.”
You sighed dramatically, but your laugh slipped out as you nudged the stroller forward. “…Yeah. I do.”
The camera lingered on the two of you walking in sync, shoulders brushing, the stroller squeaking between you. For just a moment, it didn’t look like a bit at all.
— NO STOP THEY’RE TOO CUTE🥹🫶🏻
— this feels illegal to watch
— if this isn’t real life I’m suing
The next cut opened on the “nursery corner” of the set: a flimsy changing table draped in pastel fabric, a stack of diapers piled on one side, wipes on the other. The robot baby lay flat on its back, plastic legs sticking stiffly into the air like an overturned turtle. Its LED eyes blinked in an unsettling rhythm, almost daring you both to try.
You held a clean diaper in one hand, wipes in the other, your expression full of grim determination. “Okay, cinnamon. This is the boss fight.”
Spencer braced his palms on the edge of the table, staring down at the doll like it was about to explode. “Every combo has to be exact. If I miss one button, we’re toast.”
You bit back a grin. “Then don’t mess up the combo.” With a flourish, you peeled back the Velcro tabs.
Immediately, the doll released the most horrifying squelch sound effect — wet, guttural, and far too realistic.
Spencer yelped like he’d been shot, stumbling backward into the wall. “WHO PROGRAMMED THAT?!”
You were doubled over laughing, barely able to keep the wipes in your hand. Tears pricked your eyes as you tried to work the new diaper under the robot’s stiff legs. “Relax,” you managed between snorts. “At least you didn’t panic like that at home.”
Spencer froze mid-step, his laugh cutting off. He turned his head slowly, narrowing his eyes at you. “…What did you just say?”
You pressed your lips together like you hadn’t said anything incriminating at all, fumbling with the diaper tab. “Nothing. Don’t worry about it.”
Spencer glared at you, voice low. “…You’re doing this on purpose.”
You finally secured the diaper, exhaling triumphantly, before looking straight at the camera with a cheeky wink. “Maybe.”
— AT HOME AGAIN???
— WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT HOW SHE JUST DID THAT PERFECTLY
— i’m going to pass out STOP
The video cut to the Smosh Mouth podcast set mid-recording. Amanda was leaning back in her chair, Angela was fidgeting with her mic stand, and Shayne was in the middle of a rant.
That was when you and Spencer shuffled in from the side, the stroller wheels squeaking obnoxiously across the floor.
Amanda blinked, looking up from the mic. “…Why is there another fake baby in our studio?”
Spencer didn’t miss a beat. Completely deadpan, he said, “Collab.”
You leaned down, tucking the robot’s blanket around it as though it were precious cargo. “It’s building its podcast portfolio.”
Amanda frowned at the doll, then back at you. “…Does it… have an agent?”
“Better than mine,” Angela muttered.
Shayne leaned dramatically toward his mic, lowering his voice. “Say goo goo gaa gaa if you agree.”
There was a beat of silence. Then, right on cue, the robot baby wailed at full volume, the sound bouncing off the studio walls.
The entire set dissolved. Amanda dropped her notes, Angela shoved his mic away from his face as he doubled over, and Shayne slammed his hand on the table like it was the funniest thing he’d ever seen.
The editors replayed the moment three times, zooming on each reaction — first Spencer’s unamused face, then your shoulders shaking with laughter, then the baby’s glowing eyes.
— NOOOO THE BABY IS A PODCASTER NOW 💀
— perfect comedic timing in crying
— baby’s first collab ✨
— they need to add it to the cast fr
Spencer finally turned the stroller toward the camera. “Great. Now it thinks it’s a content creator.”
You giggled, patting the doll’s plastic hand. “Well, it is your kid.”
The camera cut to the bathroom, where a tiny plastic tub had been wedged into one of the sinks. The robot baby sat stiffly inside, its limbs sticking out at odd angles like it was preparing for battle. A rubber duck had been dropped beside it for aesthetic, but the effect was more haunted doll than wholesome bath.
You stood next to the sink with a towel draped over your arm, shooting Spencer a warning glance. “Okay, cinnamon. Don’t drop it.”
Spencer hovered beside the tub, cup of water in hand. He gave you an incredulous look. “You act like I’ve done that before.”
You turned your head toward the camera, raising your brows. “Well…”
The crew howled off-screen, and the editors froze your face with a caption: [knows too much].
Spencer sighed, muttering something about liability waivers, before tilting the cup to drizzle water gently over the robot’s plastic scalp.
For a moment, nothing happened. Then the baby’s eyes sparked violently, a strangled beep blaring from its chest before smoke curled from the speaker.
You collapsed against the counter, laughing so hard you could barely breathe, towel clutched against your chest. “It’s fine! We’ll just tell people it inherited your flair for the dramatics.”
Spencer shot you a look, somewhere between offended and impressed. “…That’s cold.”
“Love you too,” you teased, still shaking with laughter.
— SPENCER ELECTROCUTED THE BABY 💀💀💀
— SHE IS ENJOYING THIS TOO MUCH
— im crying he looks traumatized
Then the chaos softened.
The video shifted into a quiet shot, lingered on Spencer sitting in a chair with the robot curled against his chest. He rocked it gently and hummed quietly under his breath without even seeming to realize it.
You leaned in from the side, fussing with the blanket so it lay just right, your fingers brushing his as you tucked the fabric in. For a beat, the room went still. No laughter, no commentary — just the two of you, looking startlingly natural.
Angela’s whisper cut through the silence from behind the camera. “They’re scaring me. They’re… actually good at this.”
Without missing a beat, both you and Spencer turned toward her. In perfect unison, you shushed.
The crew burst out laughing, but the look you two exchanged lingered: warm, certain, and maybe a little too natural for a bit.
— I’M CRYING THIS IS TOO REAL😭😭
— NO LIKE THEY’RE ACTUALLY PARENTS???
— WHAT ARE THEY HIDINGGG🫣
The editors let the silence stretch a little too long before fading the scene out.
The music quieted, shifting into something lighter, almost reflective. The next shot showed you and Spencer walking back into the main studio with the stroller and diaper bag, both looking disheveled but undeniably comfortable, like you’d settled into a rhythm without realizing it.
Tommy’s voice rang out from off-screen, cheerful but with the cadence of someone about to deliver a report card. “Alright, parents. Let’s see how you did.”
The bassinet waited in the center of the set, ready for its “child” to be returned.
The camera cut to see the robot baby laying in the center of the bassinet, tucked neatly under its blanket. Its LED eyes flickered one last time before dimming, powering down with a faint whir. The “day” was officially over.
You and Spencer slumped side by side on the couch, looking like you’d just come back from war. Your shirt was still dotted with faint formula stains, your hair sticking up from running your hands through it all day. Spencer didn’t look much better. His hoodie was rumpled, and his hair stuck up in three different directions like he’d lost a fight with static electricity.
Tommy walked into frame with his clipboard, grinning ear to ear like a smug professor who couldn’t wait to read out failing grades.
“Well,” he said, drawing out the moment, “your day of parenting has officially ended. Let’s go over the report.”
You groaned, dropping your face into your hands. “You were serious? We really got graded?”
“Of course,” Tommy said cheerfully. He flipped the clipboard around for the camera like it was official documentation. “This baby doesn’t just cry at random. It logs everything — feeding times, diaper changes, how long it took to soothe, bonding moments.”
“Babe, I’m afraid we’ve failed.” Spencer said, putting his face in his hands.
Tommy just smiled. “Drum roll please–” He tapped the clipboard dramatically. “Feeding: 70%. Formula spill counted against you.”
Spencer immediately threw his hands in the air. “That was not my fault. The scoop was rigged.” The editors slapped a caption across the bottom: [denial is not a parenting strategy].
Tommy ignored him, scanning the page. “Diaper changes: 80%. Points lost for… gagging.”
You snorted into your sleeve, shaking with laughter.
“Nap times,” Tommy continued, “60%. Shouting at the baby does not count as soothing.”
Spencer slouched lower into the couch. “It worked for Angela once.”
Tommy pressed on, eyes twinkling. “Bonding moments: off the charts. Apparently humming while rocking the baby added bonus points.”
Spencer blinked, sitting up a little straighter. “Wait, that was scored?”
“Oh yeah,” Tommy said with mock seriousness. “This baby liked you more than you think.”
You nudged Spencer with your shoulder, a grin spreading across your face. “Told you.”
Spencer huffed, cheeks pink, trying to play it off. “…Whatever.”
Tommy flipped to the last page with exaggerated drama. “Final score: 78%. Solid C+. You kept it alive, which is honestly better than we expected.”
You laughed, leaning back on the couch cushions. “I’ll take it. Passing grade.”
Spencer groaned, dragging his palms down his face. “C+. Brutal.”
“Better luck next time,” Tommy said cheerfully. Then he lowered the clipboard, looking squarely at the two of you. “So. Final thoughts? How did you find the challenge?”
Spencer sighed heavily, tilting his head back like he was exhausted. “Worse than the real thing.”
You nodded without hesitation. “Definitely worse.”
The camera lingered. Normally, this would be the spot where the video would end with the music swelling and a quick quip or a silly joke. But it didn’t.
Instead, you leaned forward, reaching into the bassinet one more time.
Spencer frowned slightly. “Uh… honey, it’s over.”
“Oh, cinnamon…”
You lifted the blanket slowly, carefully, and when you straightened, the audience could see what you carried wasn’t plastic. It wasn’t mechanical.
It was soft. Small. Swaddled in pale yellow.
Spencer’s breath caught audibly, the humor draining into something warmer. His whole face softened, breaking into a smile so wide it looked unguarded, unfiltered — the kind that came from somewhere deep.
The editors didn’t add captions. No zooms, no freeze-frames. Just silence, the quiet hum of the room, as the camera focused on you cradling the bundle close.
You looked straight into the lens, your smile steady but trembling with emotion. “We definitely prefer the real thing.”
The editors cut between close-ups: your smile, the tiny hand curling against your chest, your thumb brushing gently across its knuckles. Then Spencer, leaning in, his hand coming to rest over yours, grounding you both. His expression caught somewhere between awe and joy.
“Our little cinnamon roll,” you whispered, kissing your baby’s forehead.
Spencer’s eyes glistened as he bent closer, his voice dropping into a whisper so soft it felt like it wasn’t meant for the camera at all.
“Best collab we’ve ever made.”
The screen faded to black, replaced with white text:
Can you write an Angela x fem!reader fic? Maybe in which reader is meeting the smosh cast for the time by accident because she came to give Angela lunch and the first person she runs into is Chanse
She forgot her lunch, again.
You sighed to yourself, today was supposed to be your day off–waking up early to make your girlfriend lunch for work, washing the dishes, and giving her a kiss before she headed off to work.
She would sometimes forget to bring her lunch box and today wasn't new, she messaged you this morning.
angebaby 🤍: sorry babe i had to be early on set and forgot to bring the lunch you made me ☹️
You had enough, hard work not being recognized—you decided to go to her workplace and drop off her lunch instead of letting her waste her money on cheap meals. You got ready and dressed in comfy clothes, looking at the mirror and deciding your outfit was good. You said your goodbyes to Spork, kissing his tiny forehead as a temporary goodbye.
You went downstairs—making sure to not forget to bring her lunch box, you mentally checked off things you will bring: phone, lunch for angela, shoulder bag with essentials just in case, keys to the apartment, car keys, you walked towards the door and opened it–closing the door behind and locking it.
You got inside your car and turned the engine on. This was the first time you’ll visit Angela while she’s at work, not like she banned you from going there but with your schedules you didn’t have time to visit her. Today was the day you’ll drop off her lunch and remind her to not keep forgetting to bring it with her.
———
You found parking and mentally prepared yourself, what if you bump into her boss? you’ve watched some smosh videos she was in, her boss seemed chill, but what if it’s all just a facade for the camera?
Deciding on calling her instead of barging in the building—you grabbed your phone from your pocket and dialed her number.
She immediately picked up. “Hey babe! Sorry about the noise, we are getting ready to film another bit city episode, what’s up?” Different voices were heard from her end, probably from the crew setting up for the video.
“Come outside, I drove here to drop off your lunch.” You spoke, playing with your nails–you didn’t know she would react to you driving to her workplace. “Wait what? Babe! Okay, you can go wait at the entrance, I'll let you in and introduce you to my friends”. She beamed, excited to finally let you meet her friends from work.
You gulped hard, your hands started to sweat. You’ve heard stories about her friends and watched some videos. You weren’t really the type to meet new people but if your girlfriend is friends with them, they must be amazing, right?.
“Okay, i’ll wait outside, love you” You spoke, she said her goodbye and made a ‘muah’ sound to you. You ended the call and put your phone back in your pocket, you grabbed the lunch box and opened your car door and went outside your car.
Making sure to lock it, you walked towards the entrance to the building and stood there. You looked around the area, spacious parking for the employees, a big garbage bin just to the right, carts for big orders for props probably.
You made sure to stay away from CCTV cameras, you didn’t want to look like a creep standing outside—what if someone saw and thought you were some stalker fan? You gently slapped your cheek to keep that thought away.
You were lost in your own thoughts and didn’t realize someone opened the door and saw you. “Oh, hello”.
You turned around and saw a man with curly hair and light brown eyes. This was Chanse, you’ve seen him on Angela’s stories, also hearing stories about said man. Your mouth suddenly went dry after making eye contact with him.
He raised an eyebrow, seeing a stranger outside your workplace was unusual to see. “Do you need anything?”.
You finally had the confidence to speak. “I’m dropping off Angela's lunch! I swear I’m not some crazy fan or anything, I’m her girlfriend and I’ve been making her lunch and she keeps forgetting to bring it with her and I had enough so I decided to drive here and give it her instead–” You didn’t finish your sentence when the man in front of you gasped.
“Your Angela’s girlfriend? I’ve heard stories about you! Come in, she’s getting ready to film another video!” Chanse spoke with a positive note to his voice. “Yeah I called her while I was in the car, she was going to get it from me”.
“Nonsense girl, come on, follow me so you can sit down and wait for her. You are so adorable by the way” He complimented, it seemed like Angela had talked about you to her friends, your relationship is somewhat new—well not really, both of you have been dating for a year and just four months ago, decided to move in together. You were usually cuddling with Spork waiting for Angela to come back home.
Chanse directed you to the couch and sat down with you, you guys ended up chatting while waiting for Angela. “So how long have you been dating? Angela just gives little updates about you guys and I’m nosey” He chuckled. You smiled and sat comfortably holding on to the lunch box, “We’ve been together for a year now, we moved in together not that long ago, I make her lunches sometimes since I have day offs when she goes to work”. You replied.
“The audacity? girlfriend takes her time to make her lunch and she forgets? Unbelievable” Chanse spoke in a sarcastic tone—making sure to not direct it at you so you won’t make the wrong impression. “I know! I wake up early every time just for her to forget to bring it with her” You joked back, you weren’t mad at Angela at all, she’s a busy woman after all.
You both got lost in your conversation—ironically you forgot about bringing Angela’s lunch to her.
———
“There you are! You don’t understand I looked like a headless chicken looking for you outside, I saw your car and thought you got kidnapped!” You and Chanse stopped talking and turned to the direction of the voice.
“Babe!” You stood up, putting her lunch box on the couch and walked towards your girlfriend—both of you hugged, Angela broke the hug and grabbed your cheeks and squashed it. “Never do that again, I was so scared, I thought I was crazy when I heard your voice” Angela spoke, worry was noticeable in her voice.
“I went outside to make sure my car was locked and I saw her standing by the door. You never showed us pictures of your girl, Angela” Chanse said–smiling at the cute interaction between you and Angela.
“Well my girl here is shy and I don’t want to just shove her pictures in your faces!” Angela replied, she was right though—you were not the photogenic type, most of your pictures in Angela’s phone were candid.
“Did you bring your own lunch? We could sit down at the tables and chairs near the kitchen” Angela squeezed your forearm. “I actually was just dropping off your lunch, I don’t want to overstay here” You replied, giving your girlfriend an awkward smile.
“Nope, this is the perfect time for you to meet my friends at work!” Angela dragged you where the smosh office kitchen is located—Chanse following behind.
———
The place was loud with chatter, people sharing the table, sitting comfortably on the chairs.
Courtney, Shayne, Arasha, Trevor, and Spencer were occupying one of the tables, chairs huddled making sure not to take too much space. Sharing conversations and talking about what video they’re going to film next.
Angela stormed in—right hand still holding onto you, spotting her friends she loudly spoke. “Hey! Look who decided to visit me! It’s my girlfriend [name]!”.
The five people at the table looked at the direction where Angela’s voice was coming from–seeing her along with a girl who looked terrified with different eyes staring at her. Courtney smiled widely, finally seeing the girl from Angela’s stories she always shares to them.
Courtney stood up from their seat and extended her hand “Hi I’m Courtney! It’s so nice to finally meet you—I’ve heard so many things about you from Angela, don’t worry, It’s the good kind” They laughed.
You smiled and shook hands with her. “Also heard good things about you from Ange too” All of them took turns saying hi and introducing themselves. You finally let your walls down and got comfortable with her friends, a voice in your head was telling you they won’t like you–but finally meeting them felt nice. These people were the reason why Angela loves going to work everyday. No more frowns and bad situations happened at work (from her old job) . You were happy she was getting love and care from the people she works with.
———
They invited you to watch them film for a video for one the Smosh Channels, they were filming Flip 7— seeing Angela crash out after getting a Bust multiple times after flipping the card was funny. It was fun seeing what she does while she’s on Smosh.
You remained inside the building for a couple of hours, meeting other cast members like Olivia and Trevor, you also got to meet Angela’s boss—Ian, who had a chill yet sassy attitude. You said your goodbyes and gave Angela a kiss on her cheek before telling her you were going back home.
“Everyone loves you! I’m so happy you get to meet my friends, babe” Angela was radiating happiness after seeing her girlfriend meet her work friends.
"I guess I was overthinking it” You mumbled, everyone was so nice and easy to talk to–no wonder Angela loved working at Smosh.
“I’ll see you later at home and I promise I won’t forget to bring my lunch again” Angela nudged you with her elbow and winked.
i absolutely loveeeee your writing, your fics are actually absolutely everything to me. i’ve had this idea, if you’d be willing, of an angela x f!reader fic inspired by the subway by chappell roan (i can’t get that song out of my head) where reader and angela used to date but broke up, and shortly after reader leaves smosh to pursue music and releases the song the subway (about angela obvi)!!! and then angela calls her or smth and they get back together bc i can’t handle smth not having a happy ending :)
The breakup between you and Angela was hush hush around the Smosh office. It was a common rule for workplace employees to avoid dating co-workers to keep rumors from spreading—especially working in a place where both of you are on camera and videos posted for millions of people to see. You thought both of you would end up the same as Shayne and Courtney, it seemed as though the universe decided that would be just a dream.
Different schedules, flying back and forth to different states made you not have enough time to spend with your now ex-girlfriend. She was the one that sat you down and broke with you, breaking up never came across your mind but it seemed like Angela had other plans. Calls became three minutes instead of hours on the phone, messages became dry, the apartment felt like it was abandoned from how busy both of you guys are.
The fans have speculated something happened between the both of you, recent video interactions became less, no more whispering into each other's ears with inside jokes, just fake smiles trying to mask how awkward it was to work in the same company as your ex. The lease to the apartment was in Angela’s name, you’ve been crashing in a friend’s place to stay away from her—still looking for a place to move.
———
Before joining Smosh, you already had a following from making music in your old crappy apartment just for fun. You didn’t expect to blow up and gain millions of listeners on spotify, even multiple songs becoming popular tracks on tiktok and instagram.
“Hi” You played with your rings, trying to stop your hands from shaking. Ian motioned you to sit on the chair in front of him. “You know, I’m actually sad this is happening. I didn’t expect it to happen any day.
“Yeah, I’m sorry” You felt the tension between you and your (old) boss. He sighed “Are you sure about this?” Ian asked, holding the folder—making intense eye contact with you. “I just..you’re such a big part of the cast and crew, have you told anyone about this yet?”.
You gulped knowing the answer, you motioned your head up and down–signaling ‘no’. You haven’t told anyone you were leaving the company. Even your close friends don't know about this big decision of yours.
“Don’t ghost them, tell them about this, okay? Don’t be afraid to reach out to me even though I’m now your old boss” Ian’s voice quivered a bit, you were part of the old cast members—seeing you leave made his heart tremble.
“Thanks, Ian” You stood up and leaned in a bit to give him a hug. He hugged back, “I feel like a parent seeing their kid go to college” He joked. This made you chuckle, “You’re not wrong”.
You grabbed your bag and walked out the small room. Taking a deep breath, you felt tears come up. How were you going to tell them? Texting them felt like a dick move.
You wiped your eyes, covering evidence that you were crying. You walked to your office table and saw Damien and Spencer talking. You walked towards both of them and prepared yourself. “Hey!”
Both men looked in your direction, eyes lit up. “Hey, heard you had a meeting with Ian–how did it go?” Spencer asked. You sighed mentally before opening your mouth to reply. “I’m leaving Smosh”.
Smiles dropped.
“What?” Damien’s eyes widened at your response. You weren’t an over emotional person, but telling your friends you were leaving the space where you met them was hard. “I decided to pursue my music career, It’s not about you know..."
"If you’re thinking about it. I plan to move to Washington next week so..I guess this is a goodbye?” You clenched your teeth at how awful your goodbye was.
Damien didn’t say anything else, he opened his arms, motioning for you to hug. You immediately gave in and hid your face onto his shoulder, feeling the tears trickle down your cheeks, you let it out and sobbed. Releasing all the stress throughyour tears, you didn’t want to leave your second family—but it was for the better.
Spencer joined in the hug and said some encouraging words to make you feel better. “I don’t want to leave you guys” you whispered.
“If you feel like this is your call, take the chance, we are just a call away [name], remember that” Damien released the hug, wiping your tears away. “This is for you, what you think will heal you”.
“I hate how sweet you are”
“What am I? Chopped liver?” Spencer joked, making you laugh. “But honestly, Damien is right, this is for you [name], no one else”.
———
After taking a breather in the bathroom, you looked for Courtney and Shayne. Luckily, you saw both of them plus Arasha and Trevor with them all huddled up in the kitchen.
You opened the door to the kitchen, walking towards them—Courtney saw you first and smiled. “[name]!” They squealed. This made Shayne, Arasha, and Trevor look at you. Feeling awkward with four people staring at you, you smiled–trying to hide your frown.
“I don’t know what’s the right time to tell you guys this but I’m leaving Smosh”.
Silence, you could hear a pen dropped from how quiet they were.
“Oh” Arasha said, “Are you sure about this?” You nodded your head, “I’m moving to Washington next week, I already talked to Ian about this”. Trevor didn’t say anything but give you a side hug. “I’ll miss you, Flip 7 buddy” Both of you guys would play the card game a log off camera, even if both of you guys aren’t that platonic physically close, this was hard for the man.
Courtney immediately leaned in and gave you a hug, “I’ll miss you, please remember you have our numbers” Their voice trembled—tears already streaming down. Courtney let go and it was Shayne’s turn to hug you. “You’ll do great things out there, [name]”.
Arasha gave you a hug before Shayne could let go, “Don’t ghost us please, I still want to hear about your random yaps even if I don’t know music terms”.
———
Cleaning out your office desk was not as painful as telling your friends you were leaving. Carefully placing your picture frames and random trinkets from over the years, you smiled as small snippets of the memories of how you got them played in your mind.
You heard the shoes squeaking behind you stopped. You turned to look behind you and saw Angela. Her eyes darted to you and your desk.
“Just cleaning the desk..” You mumbled, lying—still feeling awkward being around her. She didn’t respond but instead continued what direction she was going before she stopped.
———
Angela had a performance to go to when your last day of Smosh party was held, getting hugs from people, tears were spilled and memories were told. This was the last time you’ll ever step into this place—your home. You got a long hug from Anthony and Ian.
You tried to hide your disappointment in not seeing her. But who would even go to their ex-girlfriend’s goodbye party? “I’m fucking stupid”.
———
Angela arrived at the office, the place is usually buzzing with noise, but today it was quiet–deadly quiet.
She went to the kitchen and saw Chanse and Trevor whispering to each other. “Hey where is everyone else?” She asked, taking off her jacket.
“Oh they’re playing Moose Master right now” Trevor replied quickly, as if he was hiding something. Angela raised an eyebrow at the man’s weird behaviour.
“Oka–”
“[name] left Smosh” Chanse blurted out.
This caused Angela to pause her next move, “What?” She was confused, no one had told her you were leaving—not even a peep. The apartment situation was awkward, trying to tip toe, making sure to not alert each other you were home.
“I’m sorry you had to find out like this Ang, people were afraid to tell you so I decided to step up” Chanse apologized. Angela stormed out of the kitchen, looking for the others. Going to the Smosh Games set—seeing they finally stopped filming, she pointed a finger at all of the people in the room before shouting. “You! No one told me she was leaving!”.
Silence.
“Hey let’s take this somewhere–” Erica tried to calm Angela down. “No! None of you fuckers told me she was gone! If i go back to my apartment with her side empty, I swear to god–”
“You broke up with her first, Angela, you have no right to be mad” Courtney spoke,”Instead of talking about how you felt, you decided to break up with her and make things awkward."
"First, your apartment situation, Second, ignoring her when both of you guys are in videos together. Fans have already seen how you guys interact in recent videos, you made her feel like that. So don’t blame all of us because you made shitty actions”.
Angela felt her anger boil even more—but Courtney was right, she basically was the one to initiate the break up, seeing your expression during that time made her want to shut her mouth and apologize, her pride got the best of her and thought it was for the best.
Angela huffed, removing her arm from Erica’s grasp and walked out the room.
———
She didn’t sleep, your side of the bed was cold. Your closet was empty, your decorations gone— suddenly emotions got the best of her. Angela cried for the first time this year. Chanse told her you moved to Washington and that was the only information she got, she didn’t want to ask the others after the stunt she pulled on set.
Sobbing while burying her face to your pillow, it still smelled like your shampoo.
“I’m sorry, I miss you…” Angela said to no one, photos of the both of you on your instagram were gone, only group photos were kept.
She cried herself to sleep, dreaming about your guys first date.
———
It’s been three months since you left Smosh, you made a post a day after your goodbye party on instagram and twitter, tearful comments and DMs from fans saying how they will miss you and seeing you on videos—how your humor was the best and how you interacted with the other cast and crew on camera.
You decided to keep group photos that included Angela comments limited, people were asking if you leaving had to do with the break up with Angela. Her account still kept pictures of the both of you, comments still open for people to ask what happened to you guys.
You sighed and turned your phone off and looked towards your music producer. “Again?” He gave a thumbs up, telling you yes.
“Dude, she’s fucking killing it again with a banger” Shayne spoke, “It’s usually not what I listen to but I’ve had it on repeat”
Angela was eating lunch, all alone at the table, it was by choice—she still felt embarrassed at her reaction months ago even though all of them have forgiven her. She didn’t mean to eavesdrop on their conversation but with how loud Shayne’s voice was, she couldn’t help but listen in.
“The lyrics…do you think it’s about..” Courtney replied in a whisper, well they tried to but Angela had good hearing. She quickly finished up her lunch and threw away the container. She walked towards the door leading outside the building—she had four hours before she was needed to film another Smosh Pit video.
She walked towards her car and decided to go on a drive. She was hesitant to open her spotify, she opened the app and searched your name, and a new song was uploaded. She promised to stop looking at your social media account and stalk, it was creepy and weird.
She clicked on the song titled “The subway”, she took a turn and was on the highway. She was in her mind for a bit till she heard the lyrics.
'A few weeks later, somebody wore your perfume’
‘It almost killed me, I had to leave the room’
She suddenly felt emotions trying to break free, suppressing them down was hard, especially while driving.
‘Til I don’t look for you on the staircase’
‘Or wish you thought we were still soulmates’
‘But I’m still countin’ all of the days’
‘Til you’re just another girl on the subway’
She was always the last one to get ready, you would wait patiently below the staircase, to see her go down the stairs and would say complimets towards her, How you were so lucky to be with an angel.
‘I see your shadow, I see it even with the lights off’
‘I made a promise, if in four months this feelings ain’t gone’
‘Well, fuck this city, I’m moving to Saskatchewan’
Angela decided to stop driving and park, finally she let all the pent up emotions out, she still wasn’t over you, every night crying while holding your pillow, the smell of your shampoo gone, exchanged with the smell of her tears sogging up the pillow. She looked through your closet—hoping to see a shirt you might have missed to pack up. Nothing, everything was empty, as if you were just a hallucination.
‘She’s got, she’s got a way’
‘She’s got a way, she’s got a way, hey, hey’
‘And she got, she got away’
‘She got away, she got away, hey, hey’
“Fuck it”
———
You were home, cuddled up in your comfy bedding reading a book when your phone lit up with a call.
+1 (310) xxx - xxxx
You knew that number very well even if you deleted it from your contact list. You were debating on picking it up or not—what if it was an emergency and she can’t contact anyone else? lie.
You grabbed your phone and clicked the green button.
“Hey”
“Hey..”
———
“How are you doing?” Angela asked, holding the steering wheel till her knuckles turned white. She didn’t expect for you to take her call.
“I’m doing well, Washington is doing great”
Both of you guys didn’t know how to start a conversation with each other. Angela cleared her throat, “I listened to the subway, great song by the way”.
You were silent on the other end, having your ex-girlfriend praise a song that was written about her was not in your bingo card.
“Thanks, um I guess you know the inspiration about that song” You mumbled, hiding your face into your covers suddenly feeling shy talking to Angela again after months.
“Yeah, I don’t know why I called you, I guess..” Angela hesitated to finish her sentence. “I miss you, fuck [name], I’m so sorry for breaking up with you. I don’t know what came over me to do that—the stress from work, both of us barely having anytime with each other, I got yelled at by Courtney for my stupid actions, I tried to blame them for not telling me you were leaving Smosh”.
You stayed silent, letting her talk.
“I cry every night holding your pillow, imagining I’m cuddling you to sleep. I miss your laugh, your jokes, and that little snort you do when you laugh too hard at my jokes, when you bite my shoulder every morning while I make our coffee, when you yell at me for eating your chocolate bar, when you sing in the shower, when you always take off my makeup for me when I’m too lazy after a long video shoot—I miss it all. Please, I need to see you”
———
Was it a bad idea to pick up your ex-girlfriend in the airport? Yes, will you regret it in the future? No.
Your heart was pounding so hard, your hands started to sweat from how nervous you were. After that call, you guys had multiple call sessions everyday. You didn’t tell any of your friends you were talking to Angela again and possibly getting back together.
So much for trying to move on.
You suddenly felt arms hug you, you froze—thinking it was a stranger till you smelled her perfume. Turning around, there she was, with her metal glasses, blunt short hair cut into a bob, with a shy smile on her face.
“Hi”.
You smiled wide–for the first time in months, seeing her cute smile again after months of not seeing her. “Hello”
Both of you gave each other an awkward hug, you grabbed her luggage. You held out your hand for her to grab. “Let’s go”.
———
Next thing you know? Both of you guys are cuddled up on your couch, tv playing for background noise. Holding onto each other like the world was going to explode in the next minute. Silence overtook you guys.
Angela smiled to herself, hoping this was a sign given by the universe to give you guys another chance to get back together again.
“You know, while I was taking the subway home, this girl next to me had the exact same smell as your perfume, I left the station before I even arrive at my destination and just took a taxi home” Your index finger was drawing circles on Angela’s thigh.
“I would do the exact same way if that happened to me” Angela’s face was on your chest, a blanket covering the both of you. “Your pillow doesn’t even have your smell anymore because I cried on it so many times”.
You grabbed her face “Poor baby” You sarcastically mocked.”Hey! It smells like me now and I hate it”.
Your eyes darted to her lips, you looked directly into her eyes, asking permission. Angela nodded her head and moved closer.
Description: You all know what this is. I don't need to explain it.
Warnings: Literally just tooth rotting fluff
Notes: Hey, guys. Thank you all so much for your patience with this series. I really wasn't expecting people to like this so much, but I'm glad for it nonetheless. This is the third (and probably final) part, so enjoy :)
________
It took a few weeks, but Shayne finally was able to take his sister out for the lunch he still owed her. And she thought it would be the perfect opportunity to tell him that she was dating one of his best friends.
Damien was out of town for a few days for an anime convention, but he was supporting from a distance.
She really didn't think that Shayne would take the news badly, but there was a part of her that was nervous to tell him. Like she was confessing that it was her that stole a cookie from the cookie jar (which she would still never admit to because it wasn't her).
They met up at a restaurant and Shayne sat across from her, menu in hand but his eyes narrowed at her suspiciously.
She raised an eyebrow. "What?".
"Nothing, you just... seem different."
"Different how?".
"I don't know. Did you get a haircut, or something?".
She chuckled. "About a month ago, yes. Thanks for noticing."
He shrugged. "Okay, then what's going on?".
She pursed her lips, thinking about how to tell him. Surely the easiest option was to just... say it. She'd always been able to tell her brother anything, she wasn't sure why this was so hard.
"Uh... I'm working on some new sketch ideas for Bit City. You wanna hear them?".
He nodded. "Sure."
She pulled out her phone and opened her notes app, then gave it to him.
A few of them made him laugh, which made her more excited about her ideas and her original task slipped her mind.
"Hey, these are really good. You should pitch them to Erin."
She hums. "Yeah, maybe I will. We'll see. The next meeting is next week."
He handed her phone back to her, then sighed. He was finished eating, but as usual he sat waiting for his sister to finish eating too. But he didn't mind so much nowadays.
_
Y/n was lying on her couch horizontally, holding her phone up to her ear even though she knew she could just put it on speaker. Damien was on the other end, telling her about the panel he did for Delicious in Dungeon.
While he was talking, she let out a heavy sigh which she didn't mean.
Damien chuckled. "Oh, I'm sorry. Am I boring you?".
"What? No! No, sorry. I was just... thinking."
"About?".
She pursed her lips. "I... didn't tell Shayne about us."
"Oh." He didn't sound upset, just a little confused. "I thought you were gonna tell him today."
"I know. I'm sorry, I got nervous and then distracted because we were talking about sketches."
"It's okay. We can tell him together when I get back."
"Are you sure?".
"Of course. But can I ask you what made you nervous?".
She sighed. "I don't know, honestly. I can usually tell Shayne anything, I'm not sure why this is so hard for me. I feel weird not telling him."
He hums. "Is there maybe a part of you that thinks he'll be upset?".
"No... at least I don't think so. I don't think it's gonna completely shock him. I wouldn't be surprised if he just caught on himself."
"It'll be better to tell him ourselves, y/n."
She sighed. "I know, I just don't know how."
"It's okay. We'll figure it out when I get back."
She nodded, sitting up a little as she muttered, "Yeah, okay."
"You're coming home tomorrow, right?".
He hums. "Tomorrow night, yes. I've got a few more meet and greets in the morning and afternoon, and then another panel after."
"See, that just sounds exhausting to me."
He chuckled. "It is, but I do enjoy doing it."
"Can you tell which fans are Smosh?".
"Oh, yeah. Definitely. Not a bad thing at all, but there's a clear difference between someone who likes me from Smosh and someone who likes me from Delicious in Dungeon or My Happy Marriage."
She giggled. "That doesn't surprise me."
He hums. "Mhm."
"By the way, I just like you as Damien."
"Well... that's all that matters to me."
She sighed quietly. "I miss you."
If she had seen Damien, she would've seen the way he physically softened when she said that. He stared up at the ceiling of his hotel room thoughtfully.
"I miss you too, darling." He replied after a brief pause.
_
The next morning, y/n opened up Instagram just to scroll through and stumbled upon a new post on Damien's story.
Due to an unexpected health concern, he had to cancel the rest of his convention appearances. The post was very apologetic and sincere to fans, but reading it had made her heart drop.
Immediately she tried to call him, only to get no answer, which made her worry more.
Why hadn't he messaged or called her?
Was he okay?
It wasn't until 10am that she finally got a response from him.
I'm okay
She called him again, and this time he did answer.
"What the hell, Damien. What happened? Are you okay?".
"Hey, hey. Shh, shh, shh. It's alright."
"What's going on?".
He chuckled softly. "Come and open your door and you'll see."
"What?". She replied, puzzled.
That was when there was a knock on her door, so distinctly Damien that it couldn't be anyone else. Still on the phone, she rushed over to the door to unlock it, then she pulled it open.
Damien smiled at her. "Hi."
"Oh my god." She threw her arms around him, sighing in relief. "Don't ever do that to me again."
He chuckled, returning her hug warmly. "I'm sorry, darling. I didn't mean to scare you."
"How did you get back early?".
"I got my flight changed."
She pulled back to look at him with a frown. "Why did you cancel the rest of your convention stuff?".
The corner of his lips twitched as he sighed. "Because talking to you on the phone last night just made me want to be with you. All I was thinking about was you the whole time, and as much as I love doing those conventions, there was no way I was gonna be able to focus on answering questions about playing Laios when all I cared about was when I'd get to see you again."
She chuckled a little, blushing as she shook her head. "Okay, you're forgiven."
The rest of the day they spent cuddling on her couch and watching movies until Damien eventually fell asleep from pure exhaustion. His head rested on her torso lightly and his arm was draped over her. But she didn't mind.
With her finger, she gently traced the black ink down his arm. Even if she could move, she didn't want to. Feeling his soft breathing against her was comforting.
The process was slow, but every day she was learning what love felt like. And it was through the soft, quiet moments like this that she knew.
She was tempted to keep what she'd found to herself just a little longer.
After a moment, Damien stirred when she shifted slightly.
"M'sorry, sweetheart. Want me to move?" His voice was laced with sleep, but his concern for her made her heart flutter.
"No, it's okay. Don't." She replied, not wanting to lose the softness of the moment.
He picked his head up to look at her. "You sure?".
She nodded. Despite the tiredness he clearly felt, he frowned. "Y/n, I don't want to hurt you."
"You won't. Please don't move."
"Okay." He replied with a whisper.
"I love you, Damien."
"I love you too." It was almost like a reflex. He said it with no hesitation, so normally that she forgot there was even a time they didn't say it to each other.
_
It wasn't ideal, but Shayne was going to find out at Smosh. It wasn't how y/n wanted to tell him, but it sort of just happened that way. Maybe they were sitting a little too close to each other, or laughing a little too hard at each other's jokes.
Or maybe he just noticed the way they looked at each other.
It had been going on for weeks and with each day he grew more suspicious. The first instance was when she had to squeeze by Damien in the communal kitchen. Shayne was grabbing a drink when he noticed him move out of her way. There would've been nothing suspicious about it had he not put his hand on the small of her back for a brief moment.
Which Shayne knew for a fact his sister would have visibly recoiled from in any other case.
There was nothing overtly telling that there was something going on between them. But he was an observant person and the way Damien looked at her was more than enough for him to wonder what was going on.
At lunch, it was loud and every table was full. Cast and crew laughing, talking, and doing bits. But despite the chaos, Shayne happened to look over at where Damien was sitting. He was clearly trying his best not to, but his eyes were glued to something.
That something was y/n.
She was across the room, and she laughed at something Tommy said.
Damien had his chin resting on his palm. By no means was he sitting at a table by himself, but he seemed to be unaware of anyone around him. There was a look in his eyes that he'd never seen before.
Just... soft, and half of his mouth was covered by his hand but Shayne could still see the little dimpled smile on his face.
Later, after he was done filming videos for the day, Shayne found y/n at her desk. She was writing a script for a sketch she'd pitched to Erin this morning.
"Hey."
"Oh, hey. Are you and Court heading home?".
"Not yet. I, uh... wanted to ask you something."
She swivelled around in her chair to face him. "Sure. What's up?".
"Okay. I'm just gonna ask you this, and whatever you say I'll believe."
She tilted her head, confused. But didn't interrupt him.
He sighed. "Are you and Damien together?".
Her eyes widened a little, and for a moment forgot what words were. But she wasn't going to lie to him.
"I... I was going to tell you, Shayne. Really. I'm so sorry for letting you find out yourself. I should've told you sooner."
He frowned. "How long?".
"A month. Since the whole diary incident."
He nodded, seemingly connecting the dots.
"How did you figure it out?".
"Well, with the way Damien looks at you, it... wasn't hard."
Her cheeks had a rose coloured tint to them as she sighed, and got up from her desk to stand in front of him.
"Are you upset?".
"What? No, of course not. Why would you think that?".
"You looked disappointed."
He chuckled, shaking his head. "No, I knew you two would end up together some day."
"Why does everyone keep saying that? It would've been nice to know that earlier."
"Everyone? Who else knows?".
"Oh, no one. Just Courtney."
He paused. "My wife, Courtney?".
"That's the one."
His jaw dropped open. "What?!".
She giggled. "I'm sorry, but I needed an outlet and they were the first person I called."
He rolled his eyes playfully.
"Are you sure you're okay with this?".
He nodded. "Of course. What does it matter if I'm okay with it?".
She shrugged. "Your opinion still matters to me, Shayne."
He smiled slightly. "I'm happy for you, y/n. Truthfully, you couldn't have found a better guy. So... if you're fine with it, then so am I."
She pulled him in for a hug, and that was when Damien walked in. He paused, not wanting to interrupt them. But he'd heard that last part.
When the two of them parted, y/n looked over at him and Shayne followed her gaze.
"Well, I'm gonna get Courtney."
She nodded. "Okay. See you tomorrow?".
"Yeah."
On his way out, he passed Damien and patted his shoulder. Only for a second, he froze. But Shayne smiled at him.
"Are you taking her home?".
He nodded. "Of course."
"Good."
There was a subtle, unspoken exchange between them. But, somehow, Damien understood exactly what he said and when Shayne left, he sighed.
Shaking his head, he approached y/n.
"Are you ready to go?".
She nodded slowly. "Mhm."
"You okay?".
When he reached for her, she leaned into him and he kissed her forehead.
"Shayne knows."
He hums. "I figured. How?".
"Apparently you're not that subtle."
He chuckled. "I'm sorry, darling."
She smiled slightly. "I just... feel bad for not telling him sooner."
He gently squeezed her hand. "Well, he knows now."
Out in the parking lot, Shayne stood by his and Courtney's car. Courtney stood with him, confused as to why they were still here.
"Shayne, what are we waiting for?".
"Just wait. I need to see something."
After a few minutes, y/n and Damien came out of the building. They were far enough away that he couldn't hear anything they were saying, but y/n was happy about something. She was literally bouncing, which reminded Shayne of when they were kids. Only, this time, instead of him trailing behind her, concerned about her safety, it was Damien.
He had a smile on his face too, but there was a clear expression of worry in his features as he watched y/n skip ahead of him.
When they reached his car, Damien opened the door for her, letting her in.
Courtney gently nudged him with her elbow, gaining his attention. "Hey, you okay?".
He sighed. "Yeah. It's just... harder than I thought it would be."
"What is?".
"Well, I knew they would end up together at some point. I just... feel like, growing up it was my job to look after her, and make sure she's okay. You know? And now that she's with someone that I know will do that, it's kinda bittersweet."
Courtney smiled, understanding what he was saying. "That sounds like a good big brother to me."
They give him a side hug and he put his arm around her with a heavy sigh.
"Hey, you know, y/n has been calling me almost every week since they got together." They rested their chin on his shoulder. "And I know that in her diary she said that she liked him first. But... I really think Damien's been in love with her for a long time."
He hums. "I know he has."
"Really?".
He nodded. "She's the reason he stopped drinking alcohol."
Courtney picked their head up, jaw dropped. "Wait, what?".
"Back when we were roommates, y/n had a boyfriend that would drink too much to the point that it became a problem. When they broke up, y/n couldn't be around drunk people for a while. And Damien didn't even drink that much anyway, but when he found out he got rid of any alcohol he owned and hasn't had it since."
"He told you this?".
"No. He made excuses for it, but it was obvious that he wouldn't be able to live with himself if she was scared to be near him."
"And that's how you know you don't have to worry about her?".
He smiled slightly. "No. I'm still gonna worry about her, it just... gives me some peace of mind that I know how good of a person Damien is and that he'll do anything to make her happy."
Courtney chuckled, stroking his arm to comfort him. "Okay, bud. Let's go. I'm starving."
_
When they got to y/n's place, Damien offered to make dinner and she would never deprive him of that (She somehow managed to burn water one time). While he was prepping, she walked up behind him and put her arms around him. He smiled softly, picking up one of her hands to kiss the back of it.
"Can I help you?".
She hums, resting her head on his back. "No."
He chuckled. "It's kinda hard to chop things like this."
He felt her shrug. "Try."
Rolling his eyes playfully, he put the knife down and turned around to face her. Then he put his arms around her.
"You know, I think it would be so much better if you stood over there." He teased, motioning to his right side.
She frowned. "Hey, you're trying to get rid of me."
"Guilty. I'm being so polite about it, as well."
A little giggle tumbled out of her lips. "Okay, fine. But you have to kiss me first."
He grinned. "Well, why didn't you say so?".
He pressed a soft kiss to her lips, only for a second or two. "Y/n, you know I love you so much. But please move over there."
"Fine." She replied with a little smile of her own.
Doing as told, she moved away from him and hopped up on to the counter nearby. "Thank you." He hums, getting back to cutting up the veg.
She watched quietly as he did so. There was just enough distance between them that she could touch him with her foot. It made him giggle.
"At this rate, this dinner will never get made." He looked at her. "If you do it again, I will be forced to ban you from the kitchen."
"But it's my kitchen."
"Not right now, it's not."
She giggled again. "Okay."
His eyes narrowed, pointing at her with a spoon.
For a while, she didn't do anything to distract him. She just sat there watching, occasionally humming a tune she made up. But she got bored, although the food smell really good. While he was at the stove, stirring sauce in a pot, she stuck her foot out and tapped his thigh with her toe.
Damien paused, pursing his lips. Then he looked at her, but he couldn't bring himself to scold her, even jokingly. He chuckled. "All right. You've lost your kitchen privileges for a week."
"What?!".
"Well, did I not tell you what would happen?".
He turned the stove off, then moved to stand in front of her. She played with a thread on his t-shirt and his expression softened.
"Do you want to know something?".
"What?".
"On our first date, you asked me how I know I love you. Remember?".
"Mhm."
"Well, I didn't know how to answer that and, to be honest, I still don't. I don't think there's one way to know. But I remember the first time I thought it."
She furrowed her eyebrows. "Why are you telling me this?".
"Because I know you, y/n. I can try my best to show you how much I love you, but I know there's a part of you still doubting that."
"I know you love me, Damien."
He hums. "Yes, but I feel like you don't quite understand what I mean when I say it."
She furrowed her eyebrows. "What else could it possibly mean?".
He chuckled. "See? Y/n, what do you think it means?".
She shrugged. "Can you tell me and I'll see if I agree?".
"I can't tell you, darling. That's what I'm saying. I've been in love with you for a long time, I can't tell you how or why. But... I can tell you that I know how I feel about you, and I've never loved anyone the way I love you. That's what I mean every time I say it."
He tucked a strand of her hair back behind her ear, then sighed.
"Damien, it's gonna take me a long time to fully believe it."
He nodded. "I know. That's okay. I just need you to know."
"I know that I love you, though."
He smiled, chuckling softly. "Well, thank goodness for that."
He kissed her forehead. "Come on. Let's eat before it gets cold."
Can you write Angela x fem reader, who is also part of smosh, where the smosh cast accidentally finds out about their relationship
Dating?!
Angela Giarratana x F! Reader
▪︎ summary: when kissing in the quiet corner of the smosh office causes a relationship to get exposed.
———
Lunch time at Smoffice was loud and chaotic. After filming another Reddit Stories video with you and Courtney as guests, throwing insults at AITA posts who were clearly the assholes—you wanted to take a nap far away from the noises.
Slipping away to a quiet area where not a lot of the people know about, finally taking a deep breath and taking a seat at the lonely couch that was all alone with minimal decor surrounding it.
“Just a quick nap wouldn’t hurt” You took your phone from your back pocket to set a timer for four pm making sure to be on time for another filming session. Taking your shoes off–lying down and trying to get comfy, you finally let sleep overtake you.
———
It was around two thirty pm when Angela found you, after asking the cast and crew if they had seen you, some not even surprised since both of you guys are always seen together but also getting suspicious looks especially from Courtney and Shayne. She finally remembered the secret spot you told her about.
Seeing you calm and quiet was not new to Angela, yes you were loud on set and with friends, but after dating for two years, she has seen moments where you are at peace. Smiling to herself, she walked towards the couch and lightly moved your feet—making sure to not wake you up, she sat down and took in the peaceful moment of just the two of you.
Hiding a relationship with someone from work was not easy, both of you being cast members, you were bound to be in front of the camera all the time. Fans making edits of both you and Angela, even getting questions from Arasha, Amanda, and even Ian if there is going on between you and Angela.
Of course you would always answer a ‘no’, making sure to not blow your cover. Hell, hiding it from your boss might be the worst idea you both have done knowing how a relationship with a coworker is a strict rule to follow.
Angela felt you move in your sleep, turning to look at you and seeing your eyes open slowly, she smiled. “Hey sleepyhead”.
Closing and opening your eyes, trying to adjust from the light—you see your girlfriend sitting by your feet. “Hey”.
Moving to sit up to give her more space, you tried fixing your hair after sleeping, but still feeling the fatigue. “What time is it? Did I miss my alarm clock?”
“No, it’s still two, you have time” Angela replied. “Look at me, I’ll fix your hair”. Turning to look at her, she played with your hair, making sure to get the knots out. “I miss you” You said, immediately feeling needy after not seeing your girl in a while.
“I miss you too, babe” Angela moved your head—making sure you both were staring into each other's eyes. “Kiss?”
Moving closer to her, you grabbed her cheek slowly and leaned in. Feeling the softness and love radiating off her was magical, she moved her hands to your waist, moving you even closer.
“Hey [name] did you see–WHAT?!” You and Angela immediately broke away and looked at the doorway where the voice came from. There both of you saw Courtney, with a shocked expression on her face, mouth agape from seeing her two best friends kiss.
“Um, Surprise?” Angela smiled awkwardly after getting caught. “Oh you two better have a good reason for keeping this away from me.” Courtney stomped towards the both of you. “I need answers, how, what, when!”
Both of you made space on the couch for Courtney to sit on, explaining how you and Angela got together and hiding it from everyone till both of you guys were ready to tell people.
“Even Ian doesn’t know both of us are together but he did ask me if there is something going on with Angela and I” You chuckled at how your boss even clocked your feelings for your best friend.
“I knew it! Spenser told me you guys are just best friends, but now I’m going to rub it in his face how right I was!” .
"Just don’t tell anyone about this, we want to tell the others when both of us are ready–”
“Too late”.
There by the doorway stood Shayne, Spencer, Arasha, and Ian. You and Angela looked at each other before sighing—knowing you can’t keep the relationship a secret anymore.
“We heard voices here and heard the whole thing, sorry [name]” Arasha apologized with an expression that could only be read as ‘sorry’. “Now I’m 15 bucks poor” Spencer said, trying to ease the tension in the room.
“Hey at least you guys don’t have to hide it anymore” Shayne joined in at what Spenser was trying to do. “I’m not mad at you guys, I just wished you were honest with me” Ian said “We didn’t mean to eavesdrop on a conversation meant for one person, it’s our fault for doing that”.
———
You and Angela walked out holding hands, this caused confused looks from the crew and shocked expression by some of the cast present in the office.
“I fucking knew it!” Chanse yelled—pointing at the both of you. “You were dating this entire time” This caused you to smile and laugh at his reaction. “Can’t believe I have to say this but the edits were right”.
filmingamanda on leave because i’m pregnat and this is what i miss?!?!
authors note: Back at it again with a new Smosh Summer Games: Class of 2005 content! Decided to make an Angela fic because I am loving her smack talk in the episodes.
warnings: established relationship, swearing, talking shit about the other teams (Hollywood Hotdogs), reader disappointed at Angela lmaoo, let me know if I miss any other warnings.
The words in between “••••” is the Interview segment!
(Also reader is in the Downtown Dairy Cows team because why not)
———
“Are you ready to lose, babe?” Angela made dramatic hand gestures on how her team was going to destroy downtown dairy cows again. “Please, we are going to win a game today, I can feel it” You replied, tucking your team shirt—making sure it looked good in the mirror.
Today was another filming day for Smosh Summer Games episode three. Instead of Damien, it was Anthony handling the teams. Sat in a classroom in the back row just in front of Tommy. The room was filled with chatter till it went quiet when Anthony walked in.
“All right, students, quiet down. You heard the superintendent, I am your substitute teacher for the day” Anthony spoke. “That’s right, Mr.–” He didn’t get to finish his introduction when one of the ‘students’ made a fart noise as a distraction. This caused him to look behind and ask who made the noise. “I know I’m the substitute teacher. I don’t want any Roughhousing, No Ruckus, No Horsing around, No Tom foolery.”
“Who’s Tom?” Olivia asked while smiling. This got the cast to burst out in laughter. “Olivia” You said, holding your stomach trying to stop yourself from laughing too hard.
“That’s me, I’m Mr.Tom” Anthony went with the bit and wrote on the board. “Mr. Tom, our usual teacher, starts the class by giving us little spankings” Chanse spoke, mimicking the reaction of being slapped. This made Anthony make a face that could only be described as disgusted.
“Things are a little different today” This made you along with the others to make booing noises. “You guys are going to be real good students and I got lollipops for you at the end” Loud cheers were made knowing they were getting lollipops at the end of the class.
Trevor raised his hand and asked if he could use the restroom. You looked directly at the camera and moved your head side to side with a disappointed look on your face.
“I guess I’ll piss my pants, my bad” This caused you to turn your head to your left “It’s not like you don’t already smell disgusting anyways” Everyone in the room made ‘ooo’s’ sounds and Tommy gave you a fist bump. “Piss boy!”.
———
••••
“You know sometimes I wonder what’s going on inside of Olivia’s head. I know we are in the same team and all but I just want to know how she thinks of stuff you know” You shrugged your shoulders and sighed. “Still love you, Liv”.
••••
———
You leaned back on your chair and started playing with Angela’s hair, she looked at your direction and made eye contact. With a sinister look on her face, she raised her hand. “Mr.Tom, look at what she’s doing to my hair, she was going to cut it!”.
Bewildered by her accusation, you sat up straight “I did not! I was just playing with it you freak” Your reply caused Chanse to laugh till his eyes were watery and red.
“I don’t see any sharp objects Ms.Angela, false accusations will take you to detention".
“Lovers Quarrel, Am I right?” Shayne joked, turning red at his dig towards Angela and I. “This is what happens when you separate couples in different teams”.
———
••••
“I love Angela with all my heart, but her talking smack at my team in the previous episodes is getting to me. I fear this striving to win is causing a shift in our relationship—we even unfollowed each other on instagram”. Saying the last sentence made you burst out into laughter at how serious you tried to sound.
••••
———
We were finally starting the part where we throw magnetic darts on his back—to see if he could guess who threw the dart.
Shayne shook the glass bowl with our names printed on the paper inside. He picked one up and revealed the name ‘Angela’. You turned towards Angela and gave her the middle finger. She squinted her eyes—trying to see what name got picked. Her eyes widened at the realization she was going first.
She took one dart from her pocket and immediately threw on. Everyone in the room laughed at her dart not sticking to the board on Anthony’s back.
You tried to hold your laugh in but couldn’t help but chuckle at her attempt. Anthony picked the dart on the floor. “What is this? I expect to not see anything else like this happening again”.
“Who threw it?” Ian asked, again causing the cast to laugh hard. “I knew someone threw it and you seem so guilty.” Anthony pointed his finger to Ian.
———
••••
“Ian is definitely such a teacher’s pet” Looking at the camera and squinting your eyes, whispering “Ianthony”. “Listen if Ian ever says he is a rebel, don’t listen to him, that man was literally in a music video that was titled ‘Submissive & Breedable” Gesturing your fingers in quotations.
••••
———
“Who threw it? Did you see who threw this? Anthony asked Ian. “I didn’t see anything”. “Just kiss already!” You shouted, causing Angela to giggle.
“Must have been someone with a really bad aim because they didn’t even make the board”.
“One of you is going to detention today, Am I going to have to kick one of you out of the class?”.
———
••••
“Camera man, yes you” Pointing behind the camera at Alex. “Let’s bet 50 dollars who will get to detention first. I vote Angela 100% knowing her”.
••••
———
“I think one of you threw this in this area” Anthony gestured his hands in circular motions at the direction where your seat was located
“Fucking pick me, I dare you” Covering your mouth with your hand, you looked towards Angela—immediately knowing she was fucked.
Anthony pointed his finger at Angela “I’m thinking Ms. I dare you, was it you who threw this?”.
Angela’s expression read ‘I fucked up’ as she looked around the room. “Wait does that mean I’m out?” Immediate laughter filled the room as Angela basically outed herself.
“Angela, oh my gosh” You spoke up—laughing along with the others.
———
••••
“Give me my 50 dollars, babyy” Alex handed you fifty dollars as a prize to winning the bet you jokingly made. “I’ll use this money to buy ice cream for Angela, She is still sulking for being the first one eliminated so bad and I need something to cheer her up”.
••••
———
Spencer and Courtney got caught at throwing darts.The cast all took turns picking out the names. It was Keith’s turn, he unfolded the paper and it revealed your name. Grabbing a dart from your pocket, you threw one and it accidentally hit Anthony in the face.
Angela walked forward and pointed her finger at you. “In the fucking face! It bouced off the–” Realizing her mistake, she gasped walked back and stared at the wall in shame.
Gasping at her action, “Angela, you just ratted me out, what the fuck!”.
———
••••
“I’m not buying her ice cream, I’m using this money to buy myself ice cream instead. Should I block her on instagram for good measure?” You massaged your left temple. “This is bullshit”.
••••
———
Everyone in the room was quiet. “You are giving me the ick right now, I’m actually not joking” You stood up and positioned yourself next to Spencer.
“I am..so sorry, I feel so bad right” Angela sat down and covered her mouth from embarrassment. “Like I’m actually not joking, I have done some stupid shit in front of [Name] and this is the first time she ever said I have given her the ick”.
Shayne was holding his stomach, Chanse and Trevor stood up and clapped while laughing. “I’m staying next to Spencer, I can’t even look at you right now” You turned and looked at the wall—voice laced with disappointment.
“Awee Angela go give [Name] a hug right now” Anthony spoke, trying to ease the tension. “No I don’t want to be touched right now, I’m actually so pissed, I can’t even look at her”.
———
The video ended soon right after Anthony introduced the twist, with the four people in detention grouped together for a new team called ‘Detention Degenerates’. You changed your shirt and placed your stuff back in your bag, ready to go home.
“Hey..are you actually mad at me?” You heard Angela behind you speak. Turning around and walking towards her, you hugged her tightly. “No, but the competitiveness just got to me I guess, sorry for saying you gave me the ick”.
“I get it, I don’t what came after me to accidentally rat you out, I’m actually still so mad at myself for that” Angela sighed looked down to her shoes.
“I won 50 dollars from Alex, we can buy ice cream with that, come on, let’s go home” You grabbed your bag and held hands with Angela, walking towards the office exit.
Summary: Your relationship with Ian flourishes, and he teaches you about the importance of aftercare.
CW: implied smut/sex, making out, aftercare
Word Count: 1.4K
AN: this is a part 2 of this story! People had been asking for more of that oneshot, and I knew I wanted to add more. I didn’t really have a plan until I read an authors note on a different fic about how important aftercare is and wanted to write something about that.
You and Ian have been dating for almost three months now. You’ve gone out on multiple dates, and have taken the time to get to know one another.
Learning about his job has been fascinating. You’d never watched a lot of YouTube, but now you have notifications on so you can watch every Smosh upload.
Despite having made out the first night you met, the two of you have been taking it somewhat slow when it comes to physical intimacy. You’ve been kissing. Pretty much every date ends with a goodnight kiss, which always turns a bit heated.
But some making out and wandering hands is as far as you’ve gone at this point. And you’re ready to change that. You’re just not sure how to tell him, how to let him know you want more.
And then Sabrina Carpenter does a show in Los Angeles. You, Ian, and a group that consists of both of your friends all get tickets to go. More specifically, someone uses connections to get all of you a box together. It’s an amazing experience, and one you never thought you’d have.
The best part, besides the show of course, is being there with Ian. He knows of Sabrina, has heard some music and seen some clips, but he’s still adorably confused throughout the concert.
There’s a moment, during Bed Chem, when Sabrina sings about the boy with the wide blue eyes. And you can’t help but look at Ian, his blue eyes meeting yours. You sing the next lyrics without breaking eye contact, feeling warm as Ian clearly enjoys it. He takes a moment to drink you in, then places his hands on your hips and pulls you close to him.
You spend the rest of the concert touching in some way, clearly on the same page about taking the relationship to the next level.
It doesn’t happen that night, as you each need to drive some of your friends home. But just a few days later he invites you to his place for dinner. You prepare dessert and grab a bottle of wine you both like and make your way over.
He greets you at the door with a soft smile followed by a sweet peck to your lips. It’s sweet, homey even to be met at his door like this. You have to stop the daydreams of living together, coming home to this, or being the one to welcome him home in the evenings.
Instead of spiraling down this line of thinking, you follow him inside, leaving your shoes at the door. He thanks you for the wine before expertly popping the cork and pouring you each a glass. You clink your glasses, take a sip, and Ian leans in for one more kiss. This one is firmer than the last, promising more to come later.
You blush as he pulls away, and he turns to grab the plate of appetizers he’s prepared.
The entire meal is delicious, and you bring the brownies to the couch to enjoy dessert while watching a movie. Curled up to Ian’s side, his arm around you with your head on his shoulder, you settle in for the film.
It’s about halfway through the movie when it happens. When Ian makes a move. And while everything starts rather innocent, eventually hands move to places never before explored together. By the time the credits roll, you’re both satisfied, catching your breath from the pleasure you’d brought each other.
You only give yourself a moment to enjoy this before getting up. You thank him for a wonderful dinner and a pleasant evening, and then share a goodbye kiss before heading home, leaving a very confused Ian behind.
This pattern continues. Every time you hook up, normally at Ian’s house due to you having a roommate, you always leave right after. He isn’t sure if he’s done something wrong, and he has no idea how to bring it up.
After a few weeks of lead up, it’s clear that tonight is the night you’ll go all the way. And you do. It’s perfect, and wonderful, and you feel closer to Ian than ever.
You want nothing more than to stay with him, to sleep in his arms. But you’re not supposed to want that. It’s wrong. He wouldn’t like that.
So as always, you only allow yourself a minute or two before starting to get out of bed.
“Don’t go,” he says.
You turn to him, confusion clear in your face.
“You always leave after. Please don’t. Not this time,” he says.
“I don’t understand,” you reply. “Guys don’t want that.”
“Who told you that?” He asks, and you mistakenly think the anger in his voice is towards you. It causes you to curl into yourself, away from him.
He realizes what you're doing and softens his voice, opening his arms and asking, “Come here?”
You agree, though somewhat hesitantly.
“Can you tell me what your experience with aftercare has been in the past?”
Once again you’re incredibly confused.
“I uhm- Well I went to the aftercare program at school because my parents both worked. But what does that have to do with sex?”
Ian chuckles and presses a kiss to your head and says, “Not that kind of aftercare baby. No, aftercare is what comes after sex. Like cuddling and making sure everyone is okay and they enjoyed everything.”
“But boys don’t like to cuddle.”
“Is that what your other partners told you?” He asks.
“Yea. I mean, I haven’t been with a lot of guys but all of them would, you know, finish, and then they’d leave. Or tell me a reason I had to leave.”
“Oh, honey. That wasn’t right.”
“It wasn’t?”
“No, not at all. I mean, I’m not like, the cuddliest person on the planet. But I know that there should be some shared moments after sex. How did you feel all those times when they kicked you out?”
“Used,” you reply quickly. You hadn’t really put much thought into it before, but it had left you feeling like you had just been used for your body. “I always felt weird after.”
“Because no one gave you the care you deserve. And truthfully if you were to leave right now without me being able to take care of you, I’d feel like a dick. So will you let me?”
“Okay. What will you do?”
“Hold you. Make sure you know you’re appreciated. Then get you some water and maybe a snack. Sex is basically exercise after all.”
You laugh and let yourself fully sink into Ian’s arms, resting your head on his chest and listening to his heartbeat. His hand gently traces patterns on your skin, and the two of you lay together peacefully. He occasionally breaks the silence to offer you a compliment, and it has you feeling so special. Like you matter, and this whole thing isn’t just about your body, or about getting an orgasm, but about actually being with another person so completely.
After a while the two of you get cleaned up then head downstairs for a snack, just like he’d said. When you do go home after another hour, you feel so light and happy, unlike the other times where you’d felt confused and even a bit violated.
After this, you do your own research about aftercare, and talk to Ian about what you think you might like. He offers some other ideas, certain things he likes to do as well. You’re more than happy to include the stuff he likes, since he’d explained how important aftercare is for both people.
The next time you’re at his house, you’re the one to make a move. The two of you enjoy each other, once again ending up tangled in his bedsheets. But instead of trying to leave, you curl into his side.
One of the things you had mentioned to him was the desire to be held after. So he wraps his arms around you, keeping you close to him. It makes you feel so incredibly safe in a way you never have before.
You tell Ian how much you enjoyed it, knowing he’s a big fan of words of affirmation. You even share a bath before having some late night snacks in bed while watching a movie.
It’s the first night you spend at his home. It feels right, falling asleep in his arms. Waking up next to him.
And when he makes a bad joke about having “bed chem” you know he’s the one for you.
Dear Diary - Damien x Shayne's sister! Reader (Part 2)
Description: Continues on from part 1, but focuses more on the relationship between y/n and Damien.
Warnings: Extreme fluff, confessions that are way overdue and sharks if that's not your thing. Damien is also a general warning.
Notes: I really didn't intend to make this fic a series, but I ended up going back to it and couldn't stop writing, lol. I was supposed to post this last night, but I fell asleep. So I'm posting it now. There will be a part three, so enjoy :)
___________
The butterflies in her stomach brought her right back to that fifteen year old girl struggling with the crush she had on her brother's best friend. It felt so cliche. And truly, she'd pushed those feelings away for so long and now they were back, only it felt more real.
It was Saturday, and y/n agreed to meet Damien at a local cafe so that they could talk. She had stayed up late last night rehearsing what she would say. But everything she came up with flew out of her head the moment she saw him.
The little bell above the door chimed, announcing her presence. Damien noticed her and the smile that appeared on his face almost weakened her knees.
As she approached the table he'd chosen, he stood up to greet her.
"Hey, thank you for meeting me here."
She swallowed thickly, feeling her mouth dry up. "Uh... yeah. Of course."
He motioned for her to sit down and the two of them did. It was quiet for a moment, like neither of them knew what to say.
But y/n had always been able to count on him to do the hard thing first.
"So, uh... first of all, I just want to make sure you're okay."
That she wasn't expecting.
She tilted her head a little. "Why wouldn't I be?".
"Well, I know you were embarrassed by what happened and I couldn't live with myself if you thought I was trying to take advantage of that."
"Oh... no, Damien. To be honest, that didn't even cross my mind. I'm okay. I just... don't really know what to say."
He looked at her, then sighed. "Okay, can I ask you something?".
She nodded.
"Do you... have feelings for me?". His voice held no trace of judgement or annoyance, but soft and cautious in case he was wrong. He was just asking.
She couldn't believe after all this time, this was how she would tell him.
Slowly, she nodded.
"Yes, but not this whole time. I don't want you to think I've been secretly pining over you."
He chuckled softly. "I don't think that." He reached across the table to squeeze her hand.
"You don't have to explain anything if you don't want to."
"No, I... I probably should."
He didn't say anything. Just patiently waited for her. He'd been doing it for a long time, he could wait a few more minutes.
She sighed. "I've been feeling things for you the last few years. But I didn't want it to get in the way of our friendship, so I never said anything. I didn't even tell Shayne. When we first met, it was genuinely just a stupid childish crush and that's all it was. And I never thought about you like that until now, at least that's what I was telling myself. I'm now realising I probably have always felt this way."
When she was finished speaking, he didn't say anything for a few minutes. Then he sighed.
"How do you think I felt? You're my friend's sister. That's literally the rule number one in male friendships. And I knew how much you valued our friendship, so I couldn't ruin that."
"Wait, so... you felt like this too?".
He smiled slightly. "I've spent most of my adult life trying not to fall in love with you, y/n. How could anyone who spends as much time as I do with you not?".
She giggled. "Okay, so basically we've both just been idiots this whole time."
He pursed his lips, then nodded. "I think so."
She looked at him. "So, what happens now?".
"Well, I think the only thing left is to go on a date."
"Damien, what if this doesn't work out?".
His expression softened as he rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand. "Y/n, there are thousands of reasons why this isn't a good idea. But... we only need one to go for it. And I don't know about you, but I'm tired of pretending I don't love you."
Her friendship with him had always been something comforting. She wasn't sure she wanted to know what it would be like without it there. But if they had such a strong friendship, why couldn't they have an equally, or stronger, relationship?
He could tell her mind was racing.
"Y/n." His voice gently interrupted. "Do you want to be with me?".
She nodded. "Yes."
He smiled at her. "Then what other reason do we need?".
It was like a switch went off after that. There wasn't any more awkward silences. It was back to normal, but there was something else there too. It was subtle. Nothing noticeable, not to anyone except them.
Something that had been waiting this whole time and finally was able to sit there with them.
_
It was almost 7pm, the time Damien said he'd be picking her up for their first date. For about an hour, y/n had been pacing up and down in her living room nervously. She knew she shouldn't be, but her mind had been racing all day, which led her to thinking maybe Damien underestimated how he felt about her and part of her wondered if he just didn't want to hurt her feelings.
What if he realised how inexperienced she was with serious relationships and decided that wasn't what he wanted?
Was she actually in love with him, or was she just telling herself that? She didn't know, she'd never been in love before. She wasn't sure how it was supposed to feel, and she didn't have anyone to talk to about it.
Shayne didn't know yet, nor did anyone else at Smosh.
By the time there was a knock at her door, her brain was fried. But as soon as she saw him, all of those worries began to melt away.
He seemed to have that effect on her.
He smiled at her, his hands clasped behind his back.
"Good evening, ma'am. Your chariot awaits you downstairs." A smooth posh English accent slipped out as he spoke, making her a little flustered.
She giggled. "Where, Damien? There's never any parking."
He hums. "Yeah, you're right. I parked really far."
"Really?".
"No. I parked on the sidewalk, and I'm very concerned I'll get a ticket."
She chuckled shaking her head as she took in what he was wearing.
Black jeans with a white dress shirt and a faded black denim jacket. He wore his silver framed glasses, and the light stubble he had going on suited him very well.
He somehow looked more attractive than normal.
She let out a quiet breath.
"You look great, by the way." He complimented the dress she was wearing.
"Thank you. So do you."
"Oh." He paused like he forgot something, then pulled out a bouquet of her favourite flowers from behind his back. "These are for you."
This took her by surprise and apparently that was evident on her face.
"What's wrong?".
"Nothing. I just... nobody's given me flowers before."
"Oh, so like just on your birthday, or something?".
She slowly shook her head. "No, I mean... I've had flowers from my family. But never from someone I was dating."
His jaw almost dropped to the ground. "Are you serious?".
She nodded.
"Okay, well... that's alarming."
She took them from him with a quiet but genuine thank you and put them in water.
"So, are you ready to go?".
"Yeah."
She grabbed her bag from the couch and the two of them left her apartment.
Damien wasn't kidding when he said he'd parked on the sidewalk. There really was nowhere else, but he didn't have a ticket waiting for him on his windshield.
He opened the door for her, letting her into the passenger side before closing it and making his way around to the driver's side.
For a moment they just sat there. But it wasn't awkward.
"So, where are we going?".
"Well, I thought I'd let you decide."
"Really? Damien, you know I'm not good at deciding things."
He chuckled. "I know, and I have planned accordingly. I'm gonna give you two choices, you can pick one and then we'll go somewhere else after that."
She thought that was actually a sweet way to go about it.
"Okay, what are the choices?".
"Well, there's that Italian place I know you love, or your favourite diner down the street."
He watched her face light up at the mention of the latter, but seeing as it was one of her favourite places on earth, it was expected. Still, he couldn't help the way his heart melted.
"Can we go to the diner?".
He smiled, nodding. "Diner it is."
He knew going somewhere she was already comfortable with would help to ease her nerves. Of course, he could tell. He could see she was nervous from a mile away.
As soon as they were seated at one of the comfy red leather booths, y/n was able to relax. Damien never really understood why she loved it here so much, but he would suffer through the harsh clashing of colours, the classic black and white tiled floor and the only okay food for her.
It was worth it to see her so happy.
After chatting about everything and nothing for a while, she decided to be a brave and ask him something.
"Damien."
"Mhm?".
"When you said you're in love with me, did you mean it?".
At first, he tilted his head. Then his expression softened, sensing the vulnerability of the question. He sat back a little.
"Can I ask you something first before I answer that?".
She nodded.
"What makes you think I might not have meant it?".
"I don't know. I guess... it's a little hard to believe. But it's not that I don't believe you. I'm just... not sure I know what it's supposed to feel like."
He looked at her for a moment, patiently waiting for her to explain further. When she didn't, he realised she was having a hard time trying to explain it. So, he met her in the middle, putting her at ease.
"What is it you're not sure about, y/n?".
She sighed quietly. "I've never been in love before. I don't know what it's supposed to feel like, Damien."
It was then he understood what she was saying. But his expression didn't change. No judgement, just a gentle curiosity. If it was possible, he only seemed to soften more.
"Really? Never?".
She shrugged as her cheeks flushed with a tinge of pink.
"At least, I don't think I have. But then again, I wouldn't know if I was."
He smiled slightly. "I think if you say you don't think so, then you probably haven't. Which is completely fine. But I'm just wondering what that has to do with me being in love with you."
"Well, how am I supposed to know if I don't have anything to compare it to?".
"Y/n." He chuckled softly. "All you need to know is that I love you."
"But how do you just... know?".
"Do you want me to say that again?".
She tilted her head. "What?".
"I love you." He repeated slowly, looking into her eyes.
"Oh." She could've sworn her heart skipped a beat in that moment.
He smiled. "Do you think I'd say that to you if I didn't mean it?".
_
After dinner, Damien paid the bill and they left the diner. As they walked to his car, he took her hand, which made her jump and look at him. He chuckled.
"Don't tell me nobody's held your hand before."
She giggled, shaking her head. "No. No. I'm sorry, I just thought you were further behind me."
Another laugh tumbled from his lips as he gave her hand a gentle squeeze before letting go to grab the handle of his car door, opening it for her.
Back in the car, y/n remembered earlier he had said something about doing something after dinner.
"What are we doing now?".
"Oh, I can't tell you. It's a surprise."
She pursed her lips. "You don't even like surprises, Damien."
"Well, it's a good thing it's for you and not me."
She sighed. "Dude, just tell me."
He giggled. "So impatient. You'll see soon enough."
He wasn't wrong. A few minutes later, y/n found herself standing outside the local sealife centre, another one of her favourite places. Damien revealed that he had bought the two of them passes to wander around themselves. He had a feeling he'd have a guide in y/n anyway considering how often she came here.
Without thinking, she grabbed his hand and dragged him inside excitedly.
And once again, he found himself thinking it was worth it seeing her so happy.
Quietly, Damien followed behind her as she led the way, pointing out fish to him. He didn't say a word, letting her yap about the sealife surrounding them.
He was happy to hang back a little, admiring her while she was busy being fascinated.
They walked through an underwater tunnel with sharks swimming above and around them and ot opened up into a massive tank that filled up an entire room.
The sharks were her favourite, he noted. She didn't have to say anything, he could just tell. And he already knew she loved sharks, but seeing her watch them swim in awe was something else.
"Which one is your favourite?" He asked.
She hums. "In this tank? The hammerhead. But my overall favourite is the whale shark, and that's in a different tank."
"Huh... Why's that?".
"Because they need much bigger tanks and different water temperatures."
"Ah, I see."
After a few minutes, he moved to stand close behind her. Then he put his arms around her waist, making her pause. His touch was feather-light and tender, like he didn't want to interrupt, but couldn't help himself.
He pressed a kiss to her temple, which appeared to be simple but actually meant a lot more.
"In case you're still wondering, it feels like this." He muttered to her.
It took her brain a second to register what he said, but when she did she leaned into him, letting a small smile appear on her face. Her eyes remained on the sharks, but all she could think about and feel was him.
It was almost overwhelming, but it filled her with a sense of comfort and safety first. She could feel the faint beat of his heart, the steady rhythm of his breathing, the heat of his body and the scent of him taking over all of her senses at once. That familiar smell of vanilla and the cologne he was wearing.
She hadn't even realised her eyes closed briefly.
Turning around in his arms, she buried her face into his chest. He smiled, running his hand down her arm soothingly.
"What do you want me to say?".
"You don't have to say anything, sweetheart. Just tell me about the sharks."
Suddenly she knew exactly what it felt like to be in love and it didn't matter what she did or didn't have before. She loved him.
They took their time wandering around the rest of the centre in comfortable silence with some whispering to each other every so often. But eventually, they had to leave before the sealife centre closed.
He bought her a shark plushie from the gift shop while she went to the bathroom, which she was extremely happy with.
By the time Damien dropped her back home, it was 11pm.
Just like the start of the date, they sat in his car for a bit.
She was wondering what to say. Surely she couldn't just say it was fun. It meant a lot more than that.
He tilted his head. "What are you thinking?".
She sighed. "I'm thinking about what to say."
He smiled slightly, shaking his head before taking off his seatbelt. "Come on. I'll walk you up."
"Wait, what? You don't have to do that."
"Yes, I do. Let's go."
"Okay." She mumbled, confused.
Getting out of the car, he came around to her side. Then he took her hand, walking with her as they headed into her apartment building.
He shook his head a little. "What kind of guys did you date for them to not walk you back?".
She shrugged. "I don't know."
"I'm not gonna lie to you, y/n. This is pretty basic stuff. I wouldn't be able to leave if I didn't walk you up."
She smiled as they stopped outside her door. "Well, this was fun. We should do it again some time." Her tone suggested she was teasing.
He chuckled. "I should hope so."
He pulled her closer to him and kissed her on the cheek, bringing a light blush to her face.
"I feel like we're on the same page about that."
She smiled slightly. "Fair enough."
He sighed, glancing at the floor. "You should probably go in."
She felt like there was something else that needed to be said, but as she looked at him, all she thought of was goodnight.
"Goodnight, Damien."
He smiled softly. "Sweet dreams, darling."
She unlocked her door and opened it, giving him the cue to walk away. But before he could get too far, she paused and called him back.
"Damien! Wait."
He stopped and turned back around, furrowing his eyebrows as she caught up to him.
"What's wrong?".
"I... I love you." She stuttered.
Once her brain had caught up and she realised that was the only thing she said, her cheeks flushed.
"Sorry, that wasn't supposed to come out like that."
He gently took her by the arm and chuckled, "That was adorable."
She frowned. "Hey, you didn't say it back."
He smiled softly, bringing her closer to him. "My most sincere apologies. I was a little distracted. I love you too, y/n."
She tried not to stare at him too long, but he caught on and tilted his head, amused. "But it looks like I'm not the only one who's distracted."
She couldn't help it. Saying I love you on a first date seemed crazy, but it felt right. It was different for them.
He moved closer to her, then gently brought his hand up to her cheek, tilting her chin up with the back of his knuckle to make her look at him.
He sighed. "Please tell me if I'm wrong, y/n. But... do you want me to kiss you?".
She nodded slowly. "Is that okay?".
"I think so." He replied softly, pulling her closer so that their chests were pressed against each other, which flustered her more. The sudden close proximity almost made her inhale sharply.
"Relax, sweetheart."
"Damien, you have to stop doing that."
He furrowed his eyebrows. "What?".
She vaguely gestured to all of him.
"You're quite literally the hottest guy I know, alright? You have to chill out and give me a second before you do that thing with your voice."
He laughed. "Wow, okay. I don't think I'm the one that needs to chill out."
She sighed, grasping his forearm as he patiently gave her a minute. He smiled softly. "Y/n, why don't you close your eyes?".
"Why?" She asked curiously.
"Just trust me. It'll make it easier for you."
She looked at him, then whispered, "Okay."
She closed her eyes, and he waited about a second before leaning in. To put her at ease, he didn't immediately kiss her.
He kissed her cheek, just at the corner of her lips. "Okay?" He asked.
She nodded, and soon felt his lips gently press against hers. It was soft and sweet, but he didn't put any pressure on it until she kissed him back.
When she did, her arms wrapped around his shoulders before melting into him. It sounded cliche, but the way they just fit together made it feel like they really were made for each other.
She sighed quietly.
The more relaxed she became, the more he deepened the kiss. What had started as something sweet and innocent had turned passionate and heated. But it didn't last for long.
He pulled away first and rested his forehead against hers. Both of them seemed to have lost their breath a little.
"Damien, why haven't we been doing this the whole time?".
He smiled slightly. "I guess because it makes this all the more sweeter."
He pecked her lips once more and pulled away. "I fear if I don't leave now, I'll stay forever."
She sighed heavily. "There you go again with the voice thing."
He chuckled. "I don't do a voice."
"You absolutely do. And it works, so just go."
"Okay." He laughed, pressing a kiss to the back of her hand. "Goodnight."
She smiled, pulling away from him while she still could. "Goodnight, Damien."
When she finally entered her apartment, she leaned back against the front door with a cliche blissful sigh. But it felt valid in the moment.
Her lips still tingled from his kiss and even that was enough to make her blush.
She decided then that she couldn't keep it to herself any longer and called Courtney.
They picked up as they always did when she called, despite the time.
"Hi, baby. What's up?".
"Hey, Court. Uh... is Shayne near you."
"Yes, why?".
"Well, get away from him."
They chuckled at her bluntness, but did as told, making their husband give them a confused look.
"Alright, spill. What's up?".
She couldn't help the involuntary squeal that came out of her.
"I just went on a date with Damien."
"No way! Are you kidding?".
"No." Happy tears filled her eyes as she proceeded to spill everything to her sister-in-law, who was a solid emotional support.
When she was finished explaining, Courtney still couldn't believe their ears. But they were extremely happy for her.
She sighed. "I love him so much, Courtney."
"Aw, y/n. I'm so happy for you. Are you guys official?".
"Yeah, I think so." She smiled. "But you can't tell Shayne yet. I wanna tell him myself."
"You got it, lovely. So... can I ask, how much of a simp is Damien?".
She giggled. "Courtney!".
"I'm sorry! I got curious. You don't have to say, but he has to be so soft for you."
She blushed a little. "Yeah, maybe. But he's hot so it's okay."
Courtney burst out laughing. "Okay, queen. I love that for you."
Y/n sighed. "Sorry for calling you so late."
"Don't you dare apologise for that. I get it. I'm always here to listen to you vent about how sweet Damien is to you."
She chuckled. "Good to know. I feel like I'll need to for a good few weeks."
Courtney giggled. "You're too cute, y/n. Honestly, you two have always been perfect for each other, I'm glad you finally realised that."
She nodded. "Me too."
The two of them talked for a while longer until it got to 1am and y/n was finally able to settle down and go to bed.
Before she went to sleep, she noticed a few texts from Damien.
You left your shark plushie in my car. I'll keep him safe for you
Did you fall asleep already?
I love you. Goodnight, darling
It was safe to say she fell asleep with a smile on her face.
