I may be a little obsessed. But because I’m also cheap, I didn’t immediately buy this book from Amazon, and instead decided to check my local library. We are about to be a country VERY well educated on one of the founding fathers, aren’t we?

I’m going to do a Q&A. The catch? I will only be answering your questions with lyrics from the musical RENT.
TOTAL long shot, but after finding out when Lin-Manuel Miranda started working on Hamilton, I’m REEEAAALLLYYYY curious about the flowers I found on Alexander Hamilton’s grave when I went to Trinity Church back in like ‘09 or ‘10...
I saved every letter you wrote me From the moment I read them I knew you were mine You said you were mine I thought you were mine
:’(
How is this show so good?
They’re gonna laugh.
Lin-Manuel Miranda did something that I didn’t know was possible. He took an idea that, on paper, sounds absolutely absurd, and he made it into something that is wildly popular and praised. He combined a founding father (not even one of the more popular ones) with rap, hip-hop and musical theater, and he cast people of color in all of the roles of these dead white men and women from history.
When Miranda introduced this concept (at the White House in front of President Obama) back in 2009, everyone laughed. He sang the opening number, and everyone laughed. At the Grammys this week, he and the cast performed the opening number again.
No one laughed.
So I was feeling crappy this week, wondering if it’s even worth it to keep trying to write, and Lin tweeted this.
This is so great. From a writing standpoint, and just in general.
It’s funny, this is kind of how I experienced Hamilton in the span of a couple of hours. I saw the performance at the White House video. And I laughed. But I was intrigued. Over the next few hours while at work and on the commute home (on this past Tuesday -- yes I’m a recent convert!) I devoured the soundtrack. And then I cried. And I constantly have either “My Shot,” “Helpless,” “Way For It,” or “Non Stop” stuck in my head. I’ve listened to the entire album twice, and certain songs about 20 times.
I needed this so much. And I had no idea.
I love them both.
True Detective. Ahh, I pissed myself.

In last night’s episode, Paul has some unwanted feels. Okay, so you remember how in my recap/review of the first episode this season, I said that nothing is a context clue if there is no context? Well, it’s the third episode and there should be some fucking context by now, wouldn’t you think? Maybe I’m spoiled by so much other good television that I’ve seen over the course of my decades on this…

For real, though. There have been 3 episodes and hardly a story at all.
The Trouble With Centaurs: So you know how colts can run almost right away after they’re born, but babies can’t even hold their own heads up for a long time? Yeaaaaah….
This is amazing.
Awesome.
The dust has settled and I’ve had a couple of days to think about what I’ve seen. What I’ve decided is that might be the most upsetting psychological horror movie I have ever seen. The plot is basically this: An average guy (who isn’t so average because he’s fantastic at coding) wins a company-wide contest to help out the company’s head honcho with some mystery project. That project? A Turing test on an ultra-developed AI (i.e., a robot that can speak and process on-the-go, also known as thinking). The future is now, and all that.
I saw a movie. And then I had to write down my thoughts because it blew my mind. It fascinated me and scared the shit out of me simultaneously. Go see Ex Machina. Do it now.
Okay, so I finally got around to listening to this latest single (this version is live, so it sounds slightly different from the album version), and okay. Okay, boys, okay.
You guys, I’ve been fighting so much with myself over the songs released from Wilder Mind so far. I love Mumford & Sons. They have been my favorite band, my soulband, since, what? 2010? But I’ve been having such a hard time with these new songs. I am all for bands finding themselves, and realizing their interests and their tastes alter, and that influences their sound. I’m all for that. But the new sound is so... strange.
“Believe” and “The Wolf” are good. They are. But this one. “Snake Eyes” is my favorite of the three so far:
This is the single that sounds the least like any other band.
I wanted Mumford & Sons Goes Electric, I didn’t want Mumford & Sons Goes Coldplay or Kings of Leon.
"Snake eyes” is what I’d been hoping for from the album. Now I’m looking forward to the rest of it.
I love you, boys. I hope this is the album you wanted to make for yourselves. If it is, I know I will love the rest of it.
on a scale of luke skywalker to jaime lannister how well would you deal with losing your right hand
or, on a scale of luke skywalker to jaime lannister how well do you deal with latent sexual feelings for your sister
Winston with that electric guitar though… (From Mumford and Sons Instagram)
He looks like a Beatle. And I like it.
The many identities of Stanley Tucci.
#if morgan freeman is god #then stanley tucci is jesus
Never have I seen a more accurate tag.
He’s creepy as shit in The Lovely Bones
Fact: any movie is improved by the presence of Stanley Tucci.
This is incredibly true.
The cast of Game of Thrones get glammed up (x)
They sure do clean up nicely.
Wonka themed wedding invitations
This is brilliant!
That is awesome!
