“I hear a noble throwing a tantrum and I immediately walk the opposite direction.”
“It’s what I do.”
“If you’re going for mediocre, you’ve done great.”
“I was going for ‘not noticeable’ so I really haven’t done great at all.”
“What are you supposed to be? Sparkley?”
“Do you mind?”
“Most days I just take a nap…” Vivian lied, the peace and quiet she needed because that way she could hear if someone was coming.
“You still gonna take that shot? Or did I ruin it for you?”
Clyde frowned, returning his gaze to the doe moving swiftly away.
“At this point, I’d only take that shot on a dare. Chattering with you scared her off.”
“You should wear louder clothes if you nap all that often in the woods. Someone might step on you otherwise.”
Hans nodded and followed him as he started to walk toward the Lake. He really wasn’t sure about this whole fishing idea, but he enjoyed being by the water.
He didn’t want to say anything to him. Talking to people while walking was unimportant and irresponsible. It was dangerous. Who knows what could happen if you tripped and fell flat on your face? Besides Hans had a reputation to uphold.
As they neared the Swan Lake, he glanced over at it and nodded, quietly approving of it. “Nice lake,” he stated, with practically no interest whatsoever. It was a nice day and he’d catch a good fish and possibly eat it for dinner later after he made someone make it for him. He shoved his hands into his pockets and looked out at the water. “What now?”
Clyde waved his hands at the boats on the shore,
“Pick a boat. Any boat. I usually go for the yellow one.”
It was an odd thing, but he generally chose that boat because he once heard Jane talking about “banahnas” and the way she had said it had stuck with him. Now, whenever he looked at it, he couldn’t help but think of the yellow row boat as a banahna boat. It was endlessly amusing, really. Such a shame that she chose to be so dull when she wasn’t shrewish.
Alice stood up straighter as he took her hand to shake it, figuring that she would seem more proper and put together that way.
“Pleasure to meet you.” Alice tilted her head to the side. “She spoke of me? Oh dear. Now you’ve got a terrible impression of me, don’t you?” She began to mock her grandmother, speaking with a much higher voice. “Oh, my dear Alicia never behaves like a lady and would much rather prefer get those beautiful dresses I bought for he dirty. She simply doesn’t listen to me.” Crossing her arms over her chest, she looked up at him. “Things like that?”
She shook her head with a bright smile. “Not one bit. In fact, it sounds fun.”
“Similar. I think the last thing I heard was about how you never care about your dirty face and hair or something like that. I tuned it out. I pretty much guess at it by the tone of voice.”
“Well then,” he gave her a can of worms, “Handling this shouldn’t be an issue for you.”
“Do you mind?”
vivianthorne:
“Well that settles it then… I’m not hunter, so with no signs you could hardly blame me from being in your shot… but it’s okay, I’m going to let your little outburst go…”
“I enjoy the peace and quiet… or perhaps I enjoy watching the guards patrol the area… no it definitely is the peace and quiet…”
“What do you do with your peace and quiet?” Clyde snorted.
“Commune with the birds?”
“I guess…”
“Okay… I do like learning new things” she said with a smile, “do I need to bring anything?”
“I have the gear. You....”
“Might want to change those shoes. It could get muddy. ...Perhaps your clothes too, for that matter. The worst that could possibly happen is you fall into the water.”
“Yes, I don’t suppose my bride would fancy standing next to a man who smells like the gallows.”
“I didn’t know you were engaged. Congratulations are in order, then.”
“Who’s the lucky girl? By the way, you should send it over to whoever it is that does the laundry for the Guard. They do a very good job with getting out blood stains.”
I suppose a new suit is in order.
“Too much blood on the old one?”
isabellenewton:
“I have no problem with that…” Belle offered a smile.
“But you might want to know that I’ve never been fishing before…”
“Heaven save us. Was I the only one who learned how to fish growing up?”
“I suppose everyone just went to Swan Lake to float romantically in a row boat. No matter. It’s simple enough to teach, and an easy skill to learn.”
“Do you mind?”
vivianthorne:
“Whatever…” Vivian said before moving to stand behind the man.
“Okay well then a notification that hunting season has started or something … shouldn’t hunting areas be properly labeled?”
“If you hunt, you know the season. Besides, there is always a risk whenever you step into these woods. Sometimes it’s wild beasts. Sometimes it’s hunters. Sometimes it’s criminals. That’s why guards patrol the areas.”
“What brings you out here, anyway? This is rather far from town proper.”
“Do you mind?”
ladyjane-porter:
“Wait!” she cried, regaining her balance and throwing herself at Jenner and his gun. “He needs to stand trial and put up a defence! Maybe it’s all a misunderstanding! You can’t just kill him right away!”
“Damn it, woman! Get out of my way!” The thief was gaining momentum and speed, panting for breath as panic gave him a burst of energy. Deciding there was no more time for this nonsense, Clyde barely took aim as he pulled the trigger and fired.

Elsa looked down at her braid and pulled out what was keeping it tied and ran her hands through her hair, undoing the braid.
As the glass was taken from her hand, she yelled, “Hey! I was drinking that!” Her hair was halfway undone as she crossed her arms over her chest. “What gives you the right to take a lady’s drink from her? A Lady of the Court at that! Huh? I could have you beheaded!”
“I’d like to see you try. How do you think Her Majesty will react to seeing you behave beneath your station. Behave yourself!”
Clyde crossed his arms and glared back. The last thing he wanted was to play nursemaid to a drunk young lady.

Hans shook his head, waving him off. “Nah, nah, I’ll go. I spend enough time near the water, I should know about what lies in it.”
He looked the man up and down, quite sure they could get into quite a brawl if he managed to piss him off and that wasn’t something he was going to do, not now. Hans was an Admiral. He had to keep his composure.
“Ah, I see. In that case, lead the way. The less people the better, at least at the moment.”
Clyde nodded along sagely, internally mourning the loss of his dream.
“Come along, then. It’s a decent walk out towards the lake.”
Clyde hefted his gear and started off towards Swan Lake. There were lots of row boats on the shore and he never quite knew why no one was ever watching them. It’d been like that for years, so he always just assumed they were communal.
imaginealicek:
“Good, marvelous, wonderful spectacular,” she stated before holding out her hand for him to shake, knowing it was the polite thing to do. “I’m Alicia Kingston, but please call me Alice. Alicia is just way too formal. I don’t like it much.”
He gave her hand a nice, firm shake.
“Clyde Jenner. Ah, you’re the Kingston girl. Your grandmother speaks of you often when you’re at the University.” Complained incessantly, more like.
“Are you squeamish about live bait?”
beautifulhans:
Hans stood there, staring at him, expressionless. He wasn’t sure if this fishing thing was a good idea.
The thought of touching fish made him sick to his stomach. He took the gloves from the other. “Yeah, that’ll do.”
Pulling them onto his hands, he scrunched up his nose. “So what now? What’s so great about this fishing thing? It sounds boring.”
Clyde shrugged.
“If you don’t want to go fishing you don’t have to.”
briefly, he imagined pushing the prince straight into the lake and using an oar to push him further and further outward. ....the prince probably knows how to swim. Oh well. It was a nice thought.
“It’s quiet. Not as many people out and about like at the castle or the barracks. It’s good for thinking.”
isabellenewton:
“I- uhh … sorry sir, were you talking to me?”
“I was talking to Ever After at large, but since you answered, you’ll do.”
“Unless you’d rather not soil your dress.”
