To feel good and happy and alive

Hiiii this is a blog about bettering my physical fitness and mental health. I am a Senior in university, and I have suffered from depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember. I spent the majority of highschool lying in my bed in the dark waiting for the day to be over so I could go to bed and forget. This depression led to the various eating disorders that I had as well. I have battled with bouts of anorexia, but my main issues were bulimia and overeating. Now I am on my road to recovery, though I still have a long way to go I feel as if I have accomplished a lot. This blog is to help me commit to continuing on my journey to a healthier life. My main aim is to become an all-round healthier person. I’m trying to achieve this my maintaining a more regular schedule in my life, eating healthy food in reasonable portions, exercising regularly, and regaining my motivation. Here’s to a healthy life!

hello again! motivation is hard to get sometimes, as studying isn’t always something you really want to do. here are some tips to motivate yourself to study to the best of your ability! [original header image here]

write down a list of things you want to accomplish [bullet journal?] [+]

split your goals into sub goals, because….

small actions add up !! do a little bit of want you want to accomplish at a time

you’re doing fantastic, now reward yourself for what you achieved !!

visualise yourself studying, then just dive right in. just do it. 

try to form good study habits 

keep a positive mindset

nothing will dampen your motivated like a negative attitude

try to find new methods of studying and find which one works for you [+] [+] [+] [+] [notes tag]

find true interest in what you’re studying !!

read some books/magazines on the subject

form a study group-like thing with people who share the same interest

buy some new stationary/supplies to help get you started [+]

organise/tidy/create a study space for you to use where you won’t be disturbed [+] [+] [study space tag]

scroll through the #studyblr and #studyinspo tags

create a studyblr ??? [helped me]

create a super calm and peaceful playlist on spotify / 8tracks to listen to when you’re studying [or a pre-made one??]

The problem with suicidal thoughts is that they’re not just there when your sad. You’ll be there, chillin, reading a book or talking to a friend and you’ll think ‘This is nice. But do you know what would be better? Death.’

It often happens when someone deals with prolonged mental health issues and suicidality at a young age. When you’re young, we go through a period where our neural pathways completely rearrange- the things that happen to us at that time will influence these changes. In a way, suicidal ideation becomes an ingrained coping mechanism. A sort of “well at least suicide is always there for me”. Your brain is part-muscle, it remembers things, it learns, it’s super great at adapting, this is just a reflex. It doesn’t mean you are weak, it doesn’t mean you aren’t in recovery.

Small Ways To Improve Your Life

make your bed to immediately make your room look more put together

water first, then coffee or tea

pray or meditate, even just for ten minutes, to set the tone for your day

browse the news headlines ( & read the articles that interest you when you’ve got time)

wear something you feel b o m b in

listen to music while doing your daily activities-commuting, cleaning, cooking, exercising

smile at at least two people

smile at YOURSELF

call or message someone you love

eat food that makes you feel radiant

make lists of things you need to accomplish for the day

stretch for 10 minutes

record in your phone the positive thoughts you have so you can remember them

carry water with you (always always always)

shut off your phone for an hour and have some ME time

take a hot shower or bath at the end of a stressful day

try to make plans to spend time with someone at least once a week

think about 3 things you are grateful for at the end of each day

do something calming, relaxing, and non-electronic 30 minutes before you sleep
