Remember when I said I was going to blog about my weight loss progress every Friday in 2016? Me either.
To be honest, I was feeling pretty crummy about my endeavors, often succumbing to over-eating and not drinking enough water. Thus, I felt pretty deflated about documenting the struggle. BUT, and I feel like I always say this, I think Iāve hit a new stride after 70 days into this attempt at weight loss.
Frustrated with fluctuating weight and feeling like I wasnāt burning enough to justify the calories I was allotted, I decided to experiment with my Fitbit. I noticed one day that it was counting steps while I was scratching my stomach. So, I switched the settings to ādominant wristā even though I kept the Fitbit on my left wrist. The amount of logged steps dropped by about 1,000 daily, ugh, but I feel like itās more reflective of how much Iām actually moving.
It was rough adjusting at first but I finally got a hang of it... probably. I donāt feel as hungry at the end of the day, andĀ selecting healthier choices for snacks/dinners isnāt as hard. I donāt avoid stretching/going for walks/ab exercises nearly as much as I did a month ago. Iām remembering the healthier habits I gave up some time ago. I also have a big sweet tooth, but itās also been easier to say no or to limit the amount of sweets I eat. I have a pint of ice cream Iāve had for a couple days in my freezer and Iāve only eaten about half of it. Thatās a big deal for someone like me, ha. I admit, I do have to be better about drinking water and taking my daily vitamin.
I was proud to see that even all my indulging during spring break (see above) didnāt completely derail me, and that week of a more lax schedule has helped me recommit to my goals.
Since January 18, 2016 I have lost 8.6 pounds. I hope to keep it up and to keep yāall updated weekly!
