Hallelujah! It is once again that amazing time of year known as Spring. We've been through a lot of high temperatures and quite a few cold snaps, so I know I speak for all of us when I say: Welcome Back Spring!
With the melting of the snow and the return of steady sunshine comes an amazing opportunity: the opportunity to get outside and into your garden. With more research supporting how healing time spent in nature can be, one can gain a lot from planting seeds, fixing up your yard into the zen space of your dreams and preparing for the return of your perennials. The opportunity to try new things, to learn new techniques and to share your yields with family are all attainable with a little bit of elbow grease and experimentation. How exciting is that?
Here at Cobblestone, we are in full swing as friends, new and old, return to our Big Red Barn. All winter long, we have been preparing and prepping for this time of year. We proudly grow Alberta's best plants in top notch soil and you can come see how life is springing up at our garden centre.
We've been voted Calgary's Best Garden Centre year in and year out; we can truly say that it is because of you, the customer, that we continue to pursue excellence in all areas of our business. From growing our own plants (a rarity amongst YYC garden centres!) to a steady focus on improving our environment and providing educational resources to all, we take pride in going the extra kilometer. We believe in a whole planet, whole people and whole enterprise model; if any one of them is out of sync, we know we aren't being the best that we can be. We grow gardeners every day: from providing numerous jobs to high school students to encouraging children in the store, we believe everyone has it in them to garden, plant and grow! We are the place in the greater Calgary area to find the best quality plants, the right tools and garden items and of course, knowledge. Don't be shy, we encourage you to come say hi!
This year, we are increasing our course offerings in order to spread knowledge to all customers; many of these events will be free, so be sure to stay tuned to our mailing list (join here if you haven't already). Our social media has come online and we encourage all of our customers to tag @cobblestonegarden with your home and garden photos – we will be running awesome contests throughout the year, so tagging is a great way to win free swag!
