movies were from a class i teach, and i like being intentional about having conversations around movies like they're books because it means even when i'm rewatching stuff, i find something new every time. in fact, i think annihilation is the only new thing i encountered this month, since rival wizards was a reread with some friends in anticipation of the sequel that came out this month.

it took me a minute to catch up on all i read and watched this month, but that was mostly because i finally finished Wind and Truth, which was a months-long effort. this is my month with the most books read this year, but maybe i'll outpace it this summer, once school is out!

the grading never stops, not even when you're on a cross-country trip to explore san francisco with some friends. luckily, I finished all my work on the way out so I could finish two books on the way back. something about being forced into one seat for five hours sort of make stop lock in whether you want to or not.

I finished Meditations finally, which was cool--it was definitely interesting but also definitely different from my usual fare. "It stares you in the face. No role is so well suited to philosophy as the one you happen to be in right now."
