So I just finished REANIMAL

The best way I can make sense of it is that the boy was looking for the others and came across the girl first. The girl that he and his friends tried to kill.

I don't think it was ever his intention to find the girl, because she was dead at the bottom of a well. But she was the first one he found. "I thought you were dead" first sounds like "I thought you were dead, you looked dead floating in the water." When really "I thought you were dead" meant "I thought you were DEAD, we killed you ourselves."

But the girl not remembering that key detail worked out for the boy, he needed to find the others and having her would help. So he just decided to not address the sheep the room, probably from a mixture of needing her help and also feeling guilt. When the Sheep first appears nearly all the others run away in fear, but not the boy and one other. He's stays by her side till the end helping her, refusing to abandon her again and instead confront the guilt. Only it devours them all in the end.

just some silly headcanon ideas I had. it basically follows the same idea I had in this post. when hornet's trust level for lace is high enough that she starts to feel so comfortable around her and she can't or don't want to hold back stuff like purring, but she still doesn't want lace to point out or talk about it.

I've been rotating this au/headcanons for a while in my head that I could write a massive fanfic about my lacenet traveling to hallownest but I'm too insecure about my upper-intermediate english
