I know this has been a topic of debate in the past, but it honestly feels like Kimiko DOES like Raimundo in a romantic way. Because like, he is the only boy she ever kisses (on the cheek)---and she does it twice. (Citadel of Doom and Time After Time Part 2). It's baffling to me that people don't think this is a very subtle hint that she does find him attractive.

But I can see why she never made a move on him, and it's entirely because of Raimundo's insane acting skills.

Dream Stalker hints that he's been crushing on her since Citadel of Doom (when she kissed him), possibly even as far back as Tangled Web Comb. But Raimundo never acted on his feelings because up until Dream Stalker he didn't think he was good enough to be friends with her (and the others). He does slip up in Finding Omi (he did NOT have to hold her Like That), but before that moment he made no indication that he likes her romantically.

Let me give you the timeline so you can see how long he's been pretending he doesnt like her:

Season 1 doesn't have a definitive timeline, other than implying that it can take up to 2 weeks for a Shen Gong Wu to reveal itself. So, we can say that roughly a week of time passed in between each Wu in season 1. But in the season 2 episode "Judging Omi" it has officially been one year since all of them rose to apprentice.

He's been pretending he doesn't like her romantically for over a year. And if he never overcame his fears, he'd have probably go on pretending until she moved on. So, with all that, its not surprising that we never see Kimiko make any kind of move on him. From her perspective, he's not interested in her romantically. But I do think, that despite that, she was still interested in him.

Okay so I wanted to discuss another thing:

People used to use that scene in Finding Omi as proof that she doesn't like him romantically. But like... first of all, the last thing she remembers before she regains her chi is getting attacked by the monster from the Yin-Yang world. Then, when she "wakes up", she's getting dipped by the jokester of the team whose been hammering it in for over a year that he sees her only as a friend. Of course she's going to react like that even if she likes him because she thinks he's just teasing her.

And I dont see this as proof that they can never work out. Raimundo didn't initiate a relationship with Kimiko because he believed he wasn't good enough to even be friends with her. And Kimiko never initiated a relationship with him because Raimundo is too good at pretending he's not interested in her romantically. They're also really young, 15-16 by the end of the series, so they have plenty of time to grow up before starting a relationship.

But like... on another note it's just so funny to me that these two were low-key pining for each other for at least two years.... while believing their feelings were unrequited.

Yeah, I couldn’t have said this better. I’ve always felt it was reciprocal and indeed Kim feels the same way. I know, we all would have loved a straight confirmation, but I believe it was implied at the very end.

The writers sprinkled romantic tones on their friendship throughout the series and I want to believe it was confirmed in the same subtle way at the end. 

The way Kim just hugs Rai + her 'foot pop' -because yes, that’s a trope and an action usually portrayed in romcoms- + the kiss + the way Rai holds her... 

I don’t know about you guys, but to me screams couple haha.

And yes, Kim has hugged Omi and Clay, but never kissed them. And Kim and Rai’s friendship just feels different than the one she has with Omi and Clay... it’s more sister-brother relationship with them and with Rai just not, not a brother thingy there. 

On XC we also saw these romantic sprinkles on their bond and I believe that, if it wouldn’t have gotten cancelled, they would probably be canon at the end of the third planned season.

Do you have any RaiKim headcanons?

Even with joke flirting from Raimundo, they definitely developed friend feelings for each other before crushes. When actual feelings developed, Raimundo stopped making flirty passes at Kimiko and started to focus more on doing nice things rather than overtly flirtatious ones. This is when Kimiko starts getting less bristly when he starts showing affection and starts paying more attention to the genuinely thoughtful things he does.

Didn’t exactly have a point where they “officially” started dating. They got closer and started hanging out more, and at one point Raimundo asked if he could kiss her. And Kimiko responded by kissing him on the cheek. Though it took Clay asking them outright and them fumbling before they verbally admitted to it.

Actually pretty private when it comes to couple-y things. They don’t really like other people walking in on them hanging out, so they try to have their alone time outside the temple whenever possible.

Raimundo was hesitant to tell his family because he has a lot of family who would want to meet her and bombard them with questions the moment they found out, so he waited until things got more serious. Everyone was very enthusiastic to meet Kimiko and immediately demanded he bring her round for dinner. Kimiko shared the news with Keiko pretty soon after they admitted things to Clay and Omi, and her dad shortly thereafter. Mr Tohomiko was just happy for her daughter and told Raimundo he was welcome to visit their home whenever they liked.

                                Rai's and Kim's relationship through the show:

  As you for sure know, Rai's and Kim's "friendship" in the show is seen by fans as something more than just "friendship". We ship them together, cuz the show itself showed us we can do that by making many scenes where Rai was... Let's say interested in Kim, or he was just crushing on her. What always bothered me in a way and makes me angry at Kim was that she never really... Addressed the thing? At least we didn't see that cuz creators of the show didn't want to show this, but either way Rai is the one who makes this ship going. 

First let's chat about this:

I believe it was the third or second episode, and you can't deny that Rai was crushing on her so badly here. Like Ofc Rai is Rai so he still made jokes and even bet with Omi and Clay when Kim's gonna finally focus, but at the end he said he never stopped believing in her, and that's why he won, cuz he knew he's gonna win, CUUUZ he was REALLY believing in Kim. That's not even cute, that's just golden.

Next we have this:

Gufgsyhkvtsv Ok listen to me ladies and gentlemens I KNOOW that major part of us SCREAMED (or just gasped) when this scene appeared on the screen 😏 We were SHOOK, and so was Kim 😂 He was so confident, he just grabbed her and the way he's looking into her eyes! Like guys I had to remind myself that's not a fanart, that's CANON omg... Uff 🤒🥵

Those are his dreams. Literally the DREAMED about having some kind of a date with Kim. Well, maybe not exactly dreams and dreamed, cuz those I think were ''projections" made by Hannibal based on what he found on Rai's head. So let's call it subconscious, in which Rai still remembers the kiss Kim gave him after his return to the good side, and in which he thinks about a date with Kim. I guess you can't win with the subconscious, can you? 😏

And here:

 As I said Rai's the one who makes this ship going, but look at Kim here! They're both pretty happy here, enjoying some horse-riding, and while Rai is smiling and laughing, she's looking at him like she's happy cuz he's happy too or like she just like when he laughs and smiles like this and it's just uuugh 😍

Remember how she screamed: "Raimundooo?!" when she thought he fell? 

Or how scared she was when he got attacked by Heylins and their gargoyles? Yeah... That's Raikim 😏. And their relations are imo showed really good, like they've true friends, that make jokes about one another, make fun of each other, tell the other person when they did something wrong in their opinion, but also do a lot of good to each other and help each other when in need. It's not like they're here just to have a crush on the other one, no- They're friends with a chance to be something more. ❤

Many of you have asked me about when did Christy mention about XS coming back and here I share with you the post where she made the short announcement. It was back on December 2020.

But also, months before, she tweeted this:

I know it’s been a while since she mentioned it, but let’s not forget she also has other projects going on -such as the tea- but for now, let’s keep spreading the word to our Xiaolin lovers, to give Christy our support and love, because she truly deserves it. 

I’m pretty aware many of us didn’t like XC, but the saddest part it’s that back in the days, I remember some ‘fans’ made her feel awful about it, sending her terrible messages downgrading her and her job. Which makes me think, perhaps she is hesitant to come back due to it.

Therefore, help spread the word and give Christy support! Hope seeing back this awesome show soon.

WHY OMI'S IDEA OF BRINGING CHASE YOUNG BACK TO THE GOOD SIDE      WAS BAD 

(AND WHY RAI BECAME SHOKU AND OMI DIDN'T) :

  1.Omi didn't think about his "mission" at all. AT ALLL… He just thought: "Oh, that's the idea!" and he almost immediately after did that. 

 2. What this whole mission could lead to:

-His whole crew could die in a Jack's Spicer prison.

-Whole world would (and kind of was) under Jack's leadership and dictature for decades.

-His friends were living 80 years in prison because of him.

-Whole world peace was in danger with Wuya, Hannibal, evil Chase and Evil Guan as villains.

3. He didn't thought about so obvious thing like: "If I'm gonna FROZE myself, then there's not gonna be old me, because I literally FROZE MYSELF"! And he thinks he's smart? Rai was fucking 90 or something as well as Clay and they were still understanding that better than him lmfao.

4.He did almost absolutely nothing on this mission. I mean like nothing good actually. He just threw himself into another dimension, Universes and times, where everything was as bad as previous ones or even worse.

5.He didn't even ONCE came up with a will to sacrifice himself for the good sake of the world he messed up, and for his friends. Rai did, many times, and that whole shit wasn't even his fault, but Omi's. He just stood there watching Rai thinking and doing everything he could to repair all of the shit Omi did. 

6.When Rai said they're not gonna just give up, cuz winning is their destiny, Omi stood there looking at him like a kid is looking up at the grown ups. He did absolute fucking NOTHING in this showdown (that, again, Rai iniciated), and all, absolute all he did was what? Taking Dojo from that castle while Rai was all injured after fighting with 4(!) major villains by himself and winning. And what always bothered me was Dojo who said:  "Oh, my hero!" and acted like Omi did win this showdown. Ummmm… No, he didn't, Rai did???

 7.Po jaką cholerę?! (read: For what fucking reason?!) Did he do that anyway in the first place? For them to have one villain less to fight? Or just because he wanted to have Chase on their side, close to him? Huh?! Perhaps both, but even so it's still bad. Like you shouldn't want to have the worst enemy of yours to be your homie…?

 8.He basically wanted to change someone's whole LIFE and his choice, that he made long time ago by himself, being fully aware of the consequences, change his will. Like ok, Chase is bad, very bad even, he's a villain, perhaps even the worst from the whole Heylin crew, but it was HIS CHOICE, and no one has a right to change him and his life.
