hi ! (btw does pressing skip ad get you money im confused) i actually have a question too, though. posts on my blog show up twice.. like, its hard to explain.. like for pictures with text itll have the picture then the text, then the text again.. you might have to go to my page to see what im talking about.. but do you know of anything that can fix this or anything that causes it i really dont like it :(

I think I know the issue!

Find the Photo posts in your html (beginning with {block:Photo} ), and then check if {block:caption}{caption}{/block:caption} isn't pasted twice. If it is, just delete one. :)

hi! could you make an actual tutorial for the updates tab you have since the original is in spanish or smth?

1) go to customize and open your html thingy

2) copy this code and paste it before in your code

3) copy this code and paste it under the tag, where everything is green aka your div section

4) fill in your updates!

put the title where it says ”title 1/2/3/4” and your updates where it says ”text 1/2/3/4 here”

Hiiii, sweetie. My problem is, could you teach me how to add notes to my theme? It won't show them, only the time in which I've reblogged the post.

i hate themes like this, they're completely unpractical, but i'll do what i can.

this is the code for notes:

you can change it; there's a very useful site, tumblr docs, where you can find all links and other stuff to use that is specific to tumblr.

you just need to find the date in your code. from what i see, it would be {12HourWithZero}{CapitalAmPm} , so just look for that.

now, after that it's probably closed with , so before that, just add the notes code i posted earlier.

Yay, thank you! There was a reblogurl instead of rebloglink but I messed around with it and figured it out. The little stripe only allows 1 line of text so it cuts off tags that can't fit but fortunately most of my tags on that blog are short. I wouldn't really want to mess around with sizing in case I knock other stuff out of alignment. Anyway, thank you again!

Maybe the stripe has a "height" property set on a particular value? You could go search for it in css and try changing that so two lines fit, and it shouldn't mess up anything :) I'm glad I've helped, and I don't know what I thought typing rebloglink instead of reblogurl. Maybe I'm getting old. (In fact, I'm sixteen.)

Hi! I'm asking for my sideblog, gaiacrossing. Is it possible for me to get it to show the tags on the main blog and not just when you go to the post? I'd like to be able to have them over on the right side or something so they're visible immediately but I don't know how to go about doing that.

I think the narrow stripe that shows below your posts when you hover over them should be good for that. I'll try to describe you a simple way to get your tags to show on it.

At the end of your theme code, there should be the Permalink part, and there you will find something like "Tagged: {Tags}", probably with {block:Tags} somewhere around. Copy this part, you should be able to see where it starts and where it ends.

Now, find the little stripe in your code (there will be {ReblogLink} there somewhere, so you might type it in ctrl+f and check to see if that's it. Paste the tags part into it. (probably before the last , but you might want to try and experiment where it will work best)

Now, if there's any html around it (some "

" or something like that), you should delete it, so it gets the default style of the little stripe.

Hey!

In the CSS, try putting “z-index: 1;” into this “side” property, and then “z-index: 2;” into the posts property. If that doesn’t help, please send me the code of the sidebar thing, i’ll see what i can do :)

hi, hi so um I wanna put an update tab on my blog but it appears as if I have no room, I wanted to maybe put it in the upper left side, but I don't know how. :(

Hey! I don't know how your theme looks, so I can't help you a lot, but here's the basic idea: you could move your posts and the links you have on the left, a little bit closer to the sidebar. To do that, you need to find them in your HTML code (posts will probably be called "posts" or "entries", the links may be called navigation/nav or links or some similar thing) and look for the property "margin-left". I think your posts' margin is about 200px and links' margin would be about 100-150. Now you can make the margin bigger.

You can also experiment with the width of your sidebar, or anything you'd like to.

When it comes to updates tabs, I usually recommend these tutorials: 1 & 2. I think the second one would suit your blog best, because it has this box-y look.
