Do they care? How do you make them care? What would they find most compelling? What would put them off?

Homer Simpson

Homer is a lazy, over-weight and ‘sloppy’ mid-30’s American male. He’s committed to his marriage with Marge and to all 3 of his children Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Although he is usually deemed stupid by the common person, he still holds values of a caring and compassionate father. He is driven by the thought of relaxation which usually consists of being placed in front of a T.V on the couch with a beer… A lot of beer.

The Simpson’s as a family are seen to belong in the middle class with Homer having consideration to budgeting as he has been seen with some ludicrous expenditure.

Homer is completely irrational with the motive of a ‘do now, think later’ type of saying. He is incredibly impulsive with not only his spending but also for his interest in engaging in various hobbies and enterprises.

For a neighbours day, the biggest concern for Homer would be to deal with Ned Flanders, the perfect juxtaposition to Homer’s character.

Homer definitely does care, he just lacks the intelligence to go about certain situations in the correct way. To make him care about the issue, you’d have to show the risks to him and consequences of it on the T.V if he did not go through with being prepared with his neighbours.

Ned Flanders

Ned is very devoted, in his faith and his family. He is the father of two nearly identical boys, Rodd and Todd. His drive is his compassion for Christ, to keep rich in his faith.

Nedward is very conservative, and budget conscious. He is never seen with impulsive purchases and is very sensible with his time, making sure family, work and his faith are balanced.

He is definitely a thinker. Without planning out the situation before participating he would definitely crack under the pressure and stress of the unknown.

They definitely care about christianity and their place in the church.

They do care, even through the hatred that Ned receives from Homer, he still stays committed as being the good samaritan and looking out for his neighbour. Always reaching out when they’re in need.
