While he was not much of a drinker, Deacon’s coworkers were. When they had invited him out after work, he didn’t have the heart to turn them down. They were trying to include him. Plus he’d rather make sure everyone got home alright. With the happenings around town he didn’t trust anyone drinking, even police officers, out on the street alone. People watching being a past time of his, Deacon’s eyes wandered around the bar as took note of the patrons.
That was until someone spoke to him. Turning his head towards the man next to him, Deacon’s followed his sight line to the couple in the back of the bar. “I mean, I think everyone should show affection if that’s what they want to do. Some people are more private though and you can tell in the way they look at each other. Case and point, that couple over there.” He gestured towards another couple at the other end who seemed to be animated in a conversation with one another but their eyes gave away much more.
Curious, Cody’s gaze followed to where the man was gesturing. He was right, there was palpable chemistry between the two, communicated with subtle touches and desire-filled eyes. He nodded, taking a sip of his drink. “There’s definitely some truth to that,” he mused, pursing his lips. Cody was not a subtle person. He preferred to be open with his sexuality. Lust came naturally for everyone, what was wrong with having a healthy outlet for that?
His attention turned back to the man beside him. His eyes scanned the other up and down. He was handsome, and Cody was interested in anyone who would challenge a stranger’s viewpoints. “So,” he started, a half-smirk flashing onto his face, “are you the more private type? How do you like to express your desires?
Music playing over speakers as she got herself ready. Her plan had been to drag Cody out and about for a bit, whether he liked it or not. Lipstick in hand as she applied it to her lips and a few glances at her phone, Briar decided to head out and towards their meeting spot. Once she arrived, Briar leaned against a wall. Cigarette in hand as she took a couple hits and watched the people surrounding her as she thought of what they’d be getting into today. Planning was never really her style and Briar concluded to see where they day would take them.
Cody always had fun when Briar was involved. They encouraged each other and always supported their decisions, even if the decisions they might make were questionable. He took his time getting ready at home; he wanted to look his best. Being the children of love gods, they were expected to look their best, and Cody didn’t want to disappoint. Once he felt properly groomed, he left to meet Briar at their usual spot. Spotting her before she spotted him, he snuck up behind her. He covered her eyes with his hands, “Guess who?” He asked playfully.
Sam eyed the man carefully, his brow furrowing, ‘You can find anything at the bottom of the glass, but what I’m really looking for inside of here is more booze.’ The man had always turned to alcohol; it was what raised him. When his mother left him at the age of seven, he’d had no one until he found his underground home and after that he learnt very quickly that alcohol keeps you warm and sane. He drifted back to the conversation. ‘Partner? You mean, like a girlfriend or something?’ His face cringing slightly. ‘You do look like excellent boyfriend material, pal, but I am certainly not.’
Cody watched the man curiously as he spoke, eyes scanning over him, his body language, as well as the drink he was holding. He wasn’t sure how he felt yet, but his interest was definitely piqued by the grumbling stranger. His face upturned into an amused grin at the other’s response, “Something is more accurate. What do you think makes boyfriend material? Everyone has their own attractions and needs.”
The couple that the other was talking about, reminded him about him and Hero. They have been so many months together, and she was living with him and his daughter, but they were still in their honeymoon phase, and he doubted that they would ever get out of it, so he wouldn’t judge the young couple for being all over each other in a public place, “They seem to be having a lot of fun,” he wouldn’t have sex with Hero in a place where other people could see them, but they did do it in public places before, many, many times, so he was not one to judge them, “I’m happy for them, love is such an amazing thing, it’s so great to feel that way for someone.”
Hearing this, Cody quickly turned to look at him. He couldn’t have said it better himself. He was pleased, and honestly a bit surprised, that someone shared his thoughts. He thought most would look down on two people behaving so carnally in a public setting. Cody himself was desensitized to anything sexual. He’s tried it all and proudly admits it. Everyone deserves to have their fantasies met. “Very well said, stranger,” he said with a soft smile. “You can see it in their movements, how raw their feelings are for each other. It’s a very natural behavior. You sound like you’ve experienced something similar.” He extended a hand towards the other, “I’m Cody, by the way.”
‘You know,’ he turned slightly to the other, taking the final sip from the drink in his hand, ‘When Hades spoke about an island that I would have to live on, I thought there would half-naked chicks running around than, you know,’ he gestured to the other, ‘more god-things.’ Sam scowled, turning his gaze into his empty cup, his brow further furrowing as he realised he was out of rum. ‘Any good places for a drink?’ He asked.
“Maybe you’re not looking in the right places,” Cody mused. “I don’t think there’s going to be any ‘half-naked chicks’ at the bottom of that glass.” He loved to enjoy a drink from time to time but preferred to stay sober. Alcohol tended to inhibit pleasure sensors in the brain. He never understood why someone would want to intentionally numb theselves to their emotions on a regular basis. “Sure. Lots of places. There’s a bar, a winery, or you could always just enjoy a drink at home with a partner. That’s my personal favorite.”
The bar was quiet for a Saturday night. There was the occasional wild patron and argument, but it mostly stayed at a quiet buzz. Cody sat at the bar, drinking a martini. He seemed relaxed, as if he was just sitting on his sofa at home. He was clearly comfortable in this environment. He made idle chatter with the bartender and patrons he'd met in passing before.
As his eyes scanned over the room, they settled onto a young couple in the corner. Their bodies radiated excited energy. They had to be college-aged, they seemed just happy to be inside the bar, enjoying their youth. They thought they were hidden in the shadows in the corner as they groped at each other, sharing their affections physically. Cody grinned, tapping the arm of the person beside him to get their attention. "Isn't that beautiful?" He asked, his voice soft but deep. He gestured at the couple making out in the corner. "Two people, not afraid to express their desires for each other. That's how it should be."

BIO
Cody was not born into a loving household. Francine Navarro cared for one person and one person only: herself. She was a truly beautiful woman, she was an actress and a model and had several admirers. Although she was married to a much older and much richer man (with which she had two sons), she was known to have several affairs. Only one of these affairs had ended in an unwanted pregnancy. Eros had fallen for Francine while walking amongst the mortals. Their connection resulted in Cody being born.
Francine’s husband (and Cody’s stepfather) resented the boy. Cody was a constant reminder of the affair and betrayal he had experienced. He taught his two sons (Cody’s half brothers) to ignore him, have nothing to do with him, even torment him in their adolescence. It was hard on Cody, who ached for familial love. His own mother, while she would be sweet and loving behind closed doors, refused to give up her life of comfort for her son’s emotional needs. She, too, neglected her son whenever her husband was around.
One night, while he was alone in his room, he was visited by the god Eros, his real father. Eros told him the truth, how he was treated this way because of envy, and the son of a god deserved praise and pleasure. Eros encouraged Cody to seek that, and pity those that couldn’t. That night changed Cody’s outlook completely. He looked down on his mother, she lived a life of pleasure but couldn’t give it in return. His stepfather was only jealous of Eros and passed that onto his sons. Jealousy was the best form of flattery.
Cody attended public school while his half brothers received private education. He didn’t mind, however. Cody found the attention he needed outside of his home. His looks and flirtatious nature made him a popular teen. He became the teen heartthrob and bad boy. Rebelling against his parents, often sneaking away to hang out with his friends whenever he could; not that his family noticed, anyway. With the onslaught of love and adoration he received from his peers, his teachers, and even complete strangers he ran into on the street, he realized this was more than just physical attraction. He had special abilities, and he needed to harness them and discover the extent.
Every night, he’d plead to his father, asking what it really meant to be a demigod. However, he never received an answer. This made Cody resentful; how could Eros tell him that he deserved nothing but adoration and praise, yet can’t even answer him when he calls for him? For the first few years of his early adulthood, he spent his days on a sexual thrill ride. Hooking up with anyone he could, relishing in the attention he needed. It was one fateful night that he hooked up with another demigod. They could feel each other’s divine connection. The encounter was electric, this was the first man Cody ever felt infatuated with himself. He was the one that told Cody about Icaria, an island specifically for demigods. They traveled there together the very next week.
Cody has now been in Icaria for 5 years. He got his certification in massage therapy and quickly became employed at Relaxing Tides Spa; his ability to elicit pleasures from his clients just by the slightest touch made him a popular choice.
