There used to be an old tumblr post floating around that basically talked about how wonderful and comforting it is to hear someone use your name in conversation, and how it makes you feel so seen…

And although I respect that everyone has their own opinion, I cannot describe in words how viscerally I disagree and how much I experience the opposite.

 Someone uses my name to get my attention? Fine, fair play. But if we are talking one on one and you keep using my name in conversation? I need to be 4028320 feet away from you, because that ain’t necessary, and to me it is, in fact, a form of mental terrorism.
