El Paso de Norte is a nostalgic city.
Happily preserved historic districts devoted to Mexican American heritage and family. El Paso has one of the greatest yearly classic film festivals on the West, which further influences a hold of past times and further romanticism.
“I think the sadness we have in El Paso comes from the fact we have a good and beautiful memory of the past that we weren’t able to experience. Our hearts are met when August comes around and we could go watch a movie by Kieślowski or see Vivre sa Vié. When foreign movies and poetry grant us a world to breathe in. The artist from El Paso continue to be ethereal, limerent, cinematic and often live dream-like. -CAS
