Being raised in a conservative environment, I had very little wiggle room to express myself through personal aesthetics growing up. I was an overweight child making his way through middle school. My daily ensemble consisted of a navy blue uniform shirt with khaki pants. By the time I transferred to a public high school, I began to experiment with my own personal expression in how I carried myself.

The City-phile
Over the last two and a half years, I have spent a considerable amount in many large cities in the US and even the world. I lost count as to how many times I have visited Chicago in the past year, New York three times, and this past Summer to London and Paris.
As I have become more acquainted with the glorious city of Chicago, I have ceased to feel the pre-travel butterflies before I go, so I thought. As I lay in bed the night before I leave on another endeavor to the windy city, I actually feel those jitters coming back and I adore it! With such a slow and temptingly gloomy months in the Winter, a change of scenery and a shake of energy is exactly what I need to rejuvenate my soul for the time being. So to this Valentine's day, cheers to the city! ♥ ♥ ♥
February brings a gloomy and ominous mood to the area. It is when Winter reaches its coldest and it sometimes feel never ending. In lieu of the depressing weather, I have made it a mission to find views that inspire me instead of being locked away in the dark or at under a fluorescent light. I have been enjoying Grand Rapids more than ever studying with this view. As much as I feel spiteful of Winter in the freezing final weeks of the season, there are still magnificent views that are to be had when snow is present. It goes to show that a minor change of scenery can be that boost of motivation you need to get through your day.❤
