The Apartment Life heavy metal barstool and dining chair are another eyesore set in the game: they look promisingly grungy, but IMO end up too cartoony for good dive bar vibes. So I've made an alternative!
Worn polyester seats that will definitely stick to the back of your sim's legs.
I borrowed the metal frame from Misty-Fluff's Resident Evil 7 chair and then meshed the cushions myself. I stretched and rearranged the texture mapping so the chairs would have some scuff marks and look as lived-in as the originals.
Now the set is a better fit for your gas stations, your laundromats, and your biker bars :D
This one is from the Katy Perry sp (surprising, I know). AF only, has all morphs. There's some clipping with the legs, but I tried my best. I made 5 recolors, but here's the PSD for recoloring. I made these for C&K's Extended Material Shader, so it's recommended (the shine looks a bit different without it). Shoes are by Sentate :)
Hey Cuties! Another project I finally finished :3 I hope you’ll have just as much fun with the sweater as I did! If you find any mistakes, let me know! (I feel so productive because Im finally finishing everything thats demotivating me over the last few months lol)
This is a link to everything I had in my simsfileshare. It's mostly all my old CC. I went through my blog and ended up just deleting all my posts. I just... I dunno. I'm not sure I want to come back to tumblr/sharing stuff publicly again yet. But with the recent GoS drama (which I'm finding hilarious by the way) I figured I shouldn't delete my old CC. I'm not sure how important it is to everyone, so why not just leave it.
That said, everything in there is considered unsupported. A lot of it I made with very little knowledge and probably shouldn't have shared because I didn't test thoroughly enough, and I know that now. I would've deleted a good chunk of it, but like I said I'm not sure if it might be important to someone.
The biggest thing... well, I guess I'm a little ashamed to say it, but my most popular download is my Turn-On replacement. It uh... well there's parts of it that work and parts that don't. And I did at one point want to actually fix it. But I didn't. There are lots of other great Turn-On replacements and I'd suggest you use those instead.
As for me, well, currently I'm playing Sims 2 :) I'm really enjoying it, and have made some new mods. I'm having a blast getting back into it and rebuilding my downloads folder. I'm not sure if I'm gonna share anything but I wanted to give myself a clean slate if do. Plus I'm having fun.
I wanna say a big thank you to everyone who's supported and downloaded my stuff over the years. There's a lot of really good things I enjoy in this community even after all the years the game has been around. Thank you for letting me be a part of it, and I'll do my best to make sure what I've made won't just disappear.
I can not remember for the life of me *exactly* what I've posted to GoS over the years, but I do still have all the links on my box account so will be posting things I think were uploaded as and when I find the time, starting with these because I still had the previews to hand.
Here's 9 assorted recolours of a wall originally by Nymphy (and iirc the set wasn't available at the time, so I've re-reuploaded it and the rest of the walls in that set under the cut).
GET 'EM HERE
the original wall looked like this (i swear it is different to my teal recolour lol):
and can be found with a bunch of other art deco walls by Nymphy here
I love @jacky93sims invisible chess board and I'm planning to use it everywhere all the time. But what if it was easier to switch the game board?
So I present...changeable game boards!
With one board, you can choose between all the options Jacky converted from ATS, plus two from @decat2's ACNH conversions.
All the games are included in the download. The alternate games don't show up in the catalog to eliminate clutter, but you need all the files for it to work.
Unfortunately, changing the model this way removes the ability to change the recolor, so it's one option each. But I did change the GUIDs so they don't overwrite the originals if you want the recolor options. You'll just have to place those the old-fashioned way.

Enjoy watching your sims play something other than chess! :)
Thank you to:
@jacky93sims for the Invisible Chess Board
@decat2 for the ACNH conversions
@blueheavensims and HugeLunatic at the The SimForge Discord for pointing me to the dynamic menu tutorial (and @picknmixsims for making that video) and for trying to help me get the recolors working.
today i have some recolours of the al smitty takes flight painting using baufive's oh deer vert narrow paintings . these were previously converted by @moocha-muses but i wanted to have them on a mesh with lots of addons (you can get the addons in the preview here). there are 18 swatches
As seen in my post a couple of days ago I couldn't find any nice recolors of the BG Exploding Dragon Dining Table that I really liked, so I made my own!
I also made a mesh edit to remove the flower thingies of the legs and moved the legs a bit closer. The edit is completely optional, the recolors work fine without the mesh edit. You can see the comparison below.
There are 10 recolors: 5 plain and 5 decorated. The painted parts are from various museum and antique shop websites. Some of them are Chinese, some Japanese.
22 years later, give your Sims 2 kitchens a pantry.
As I hinted at with my club counter mapping fix, I've been invested in a long-term-want-to-do-this-one-day project the last week or so. Pantries. ALL the pantries.
Dusting off my very meagre and rusty Blender skills, I have made some things for you all.
All pics and details below.
The value kitchen gets a pantry at 2 heights - lower (for more generic cupboard vibes) and ceiling height.
Quaint kitchen looking cute. This one is ceiling height
One of my favourites, the Epikouros set, also ceiling height
The "blue ribbon" seasons country kitchen gets a non-ceiling height pantry cos I wanted the pretties on top.
Chiclettina Fjord, at ceiling height (get yourself a non-blue glass default though, it looks better I promise)
The University Industrial Steelate kitchen also gets 2 height variations because I could see these cupboards being useful in a variety of different settings and thought options might be nice (medical cabinets maybe?)
Forbidden fruit, just ceiling height
The club kitchen, also just ceiling height, and make sure you grab my counter mapping fix cos it makes these counters look SO much nicer
The "Fat City" kitchen, ceiling height only. This is actually a really nice kitchen set with some nice recolours.
Castanoga, only ceiling height. This one was the bane of my existence and definitely the hardest one to get right.
Mission, which I wasn't gonna do cos I NEVER use this kitchen, but I thought others might like it. That pantry is at ceiling height.
Surfaco, probably the most underrated Maxis kitchen IMO. Ceiling height only here.
Neo Quartzo which again... I was gonna skip, but I thought, maybe some people use this kitchen sometimes? idk lol, not me... Ceiling height only.
Romantic wood 😍 I love this one. Not quite ceiling height, again for the pretty loopdey bit on top.
And Chez Moi, also a really tricky one to get right. Ceiling height.
These counters did not get a matching pantry:
Sorry 🙈🙈 If you REALLY DESPERATELY need one... yeah, nah, idk. Maybe I'll do a tiki one, but the others, nope. lol.
All pantries are located in surfaces / misc and cost the same $$ as their matched counter. They are all decorative only. I would love if someone smarter and more capable than me could turn them into functional "snack cupboards" but I lack the know how. So if you're inspired to do it, please be my guest!!
Some of the pantry meshes still have some small issues with normals (MY NEMESIS!!) but I want to give a huge shoutout and thank you to @gummilutt and @morepopcorn for fixing some of them for me, and Poppy particularly for helping me understand how to actually deal with normals in Blender. I really tried and I did improve the meshes a lot as I went.
All pantries were cloned from CTNutmegger's set of upper cabinets, so credits to them. These were occasionally a little "interesting" to work with, but again, I tried my best. And if you need some upper cabinets, you can download those and they should match fairly well. Otherwise, I recommend @nixedsims's Counter Completers and Mutske's kitchen addons too.
Oh, and it should go without saying that these are all repo'd to the Maxis counters so will pick up any recolours you've got 🤗
With that said, if you'd like them, here's the link!
So, in the Sims basegame objects.package, there's a semi-functional DnD-style roleplaying game table which, from its limited options when other people poked at and play-tested it, seemed like it was going to have one player act as the game master and then other Sims would change into LARP-y costumes so they could play different classes (it's theorised that this was the purpose of the hidden basegame warrior AF outfit with the super-cleavage, but that connection isn't proven).
Given the Sims 2 modding community is on steroids atm, has anyone ever actually looked at finishing it as lost-and-found TS2 content? I don't know enough to know how broken it is or even how it would ideally function, but it's a neat concept.
I would happily contribute texture-making or copy-writing (and even basic meshing/frankenmeshing) if other people were interested in the code. I'm about to head to bed so I can't go digging myself but it got me thinking that it would be a fun thing for potential hobby and skill building with a social element 🤔
THANK YOUUU to @3snappingrectangles for hooking me up! I KNEW I wasn't imagining things (just wasn't in the basegame files, it was in Castaway Stories):
It seems like it's almost fully-functional as-is? I tested it and here are the current problems I would LOVE to collaborate with someone to fix:
The BIGGEST problem that stops this from being usable is how limited the animations are - a Sim "rolls", then Sims react either positively or negatively. But it seems like since that rolling animation doesn't exist, it defaults to all the Sims belching clouds all over each other lmao. Not sure what animations would be best to replace 🤔 Maybe a generic swipe/clear? One of the poker table animations? I'm sure someone who knows this stuff could add more player reactions to rolls, too.
The table just pulls the basegame card table as its mesh (which means it's non-recolourable). Would love to make a custom object to replace this - in an ideal world it would be an object you had to place on a separate table (so players could mix-and-match), but I'd make a full table-sized object if necessary (with an invisible recolour, players could still use different tables). Would just need some help getting the table to point to this new mesh 👍
The object is a Logic skilling object (YIPPEEEEE) and that all seems to function, except there's no notification that a Sim has gained a skill point. If someone can add that, I can write the flavour text (for other things too, like the catalogue description, etc.) Would be cool if the notification was different depending on which role the Sim was playing?
Object currently only functions for adults and elders (the catalogue flag says it's a University object, which is the EP I presume it was made for before it got scrapped [makes sense - def associate DnD with college geeks haha] - so I assume it works for young adults too, but haven't checked). Would love to enable it for teens too?
Sims change outfits to play the game - this functions, but the outfits are all placeholders, as you can see in the picture above. Would love to offer two versions - one which redirect these to other in-game outfits (obviously that legendary unused AF warrior outfit would finally have a purpose) and another which directs them to bespoke CC outfits I'd be happy to make! Not sure how to handle the gender split though (or possibility of added teen functionality)
If anyone wants to poke at the files I uploaded them here. It functions (annoyingly 🤢) in the game if you change its catalogue flags in SimPE.
Maxis Match Recolors of FreshPrince’s Entertainment Center
Basically Amused Sims shared these recolors of a very nice entertainment center for your sims’ living rooms. The mesh is included with the download since FreshPrince’s original mesh isn’t available anymore.
Download from my SimFileShare
**May 2026 Update** - I’ve reuploaded this set and the recolors to my SFS since the archive link from Basically Amused Sims no longer works.
I've always hated how the camera jumps up and down when playing tall and slim buildings. Turns out, it's really easy to fix! It’ll take you less than a minute. All the details under the cut.
All it takes is opening the LiveCamera.txt file in your Documents>Cameras folder with a text editor and changing these two parameters near the bottom to a higher value. Doesn’t matter if you're using a custom camera mod or not. Those parameters should be there. I have set mine like this (remember to save a backup just in case you don't like these changes).
It might seem a bit extreme, but I still think it’s fine.
-The top parameter, floorheightsamplerange, handles how much the floors “extend out”, so the camera object can stand on it mid-air. The higher it is, the further the floor will extend. This will make it so your camera will be able to stick to the floor you’re on, even if you pan away from the building. No more annoying jumps up and down!
-The parameter below that, floorheightsampleinnerrange, handles the transition between sticking to the current floor and dropping to the ground level once it goes past the edge. The higher it is, the smoothest the fall will be.
I’ll note though that the behaviour of these parameters might not be 100% accurate with how the game actually works, but from what I tested I think it’s pretty close as an explanation. If someone knows better how this Live Camera works, please let me know and I’ll try my best to correct any inaccuracies.
Save the .txt file and check how it works in game. It might feel weird at first, but personally I find it so much smoother and easier to handle. If you’re not happy with these values, close the game and edit those parameters until you find your sweet spot. Unfortunately, you will have to close and open the game every time you change it to check how it works.
There’s so many cool Custom Camera mods out there that I thought it’s probably better to just show how to edit those 2 parameters than editing and reuploading all of them.
So yeah, that’s it. Now you can play those tall lots without getting a headache. Go ahead and send your college simmies to that hideous Sim State Tower with a hot tub on top of it. Now you’ll be able to see what’s going on up there.
