D. O. S. E. on High, Auckland CBD
Drinks pictured: Hot oat Biscoff latte ($9).
I've had the iced oat Biscoff latte at D. O. S. E. before and had the hot one this time! It was very yummy and comforting.
Rocket Coffee Roasters, Hamilton
Beans pictured: Colombia Luz Helena Salazar ($27 for 250g) and Kenya Kamwangi ($24 for 250g).
Been a while since I posted my home coffee beans. I'd been meaning to try a bunch of different New Zealand roasteries last year but got distracted everytime Coffee Supreme would send me a voucher for 10% off. I do appreciate that discount in these pricy times, but as I only place an order once every 3 months, I don't actually spend too much on speciality coffee. So I have decided to actually order from a different roaster for the next few orders atleast, starting off with Rocket Coffee from Hamilton. I also loved the coffee at their roastery when I went in 2020.
Kompass Coffee, Auckland CBD
Drinks pictured: Coconut matcha latte and oat flat white.
Matcha and coffee at Kompass Coffee, near the Art Gallery. We got there as soon as they opened and they were immediately busy! Small cafe with seats inside and outside. I really like the hot matcha over there, probably one of my favourites in Auckland.
Maeve Coffee Roasters, Auckland CBD
Drinks pictured: Oat flat white and hot chocolate.
Went to Maeve Coffee Roasters' spot on Anzac Ave on Saturday. I really like their interiors! They mostly do coffee, matcha and some cabinet food. They also sell beans and equipment for you to take home!
Mixed 1981 Space, Auckland CBD
Drinks pictured: Oat flat white and long black.
Stopped by Mixed 1981 Space a couple of weeks ago. They use beans from Maeve Coffee Roasters, and do non-coffee drinks and matcha as well. I figured out the meaning behind their name - they are a mixed space, cafe and art gallery! There was also a cute dog which was a nice bonus. 🐶
Village Wholefoods Cafe, Howick
Drink pictured: Small oat flat white ($6.3).
Was in Howick about a month ago and got an oat flat white from the Village Whole Foods cafe. They use beans from Kokako Coffee. They do matcha as well and I really enjoyed their pink and leafy interiors.
Cafe Ditto, Grafton
Drinks pictured: Iced oat latte and hot chocolate.
Cafe Ditto pics from December. Perfect cafe to sit down with a book and chill out for a while.
Cafe Richmond, Grey Lynn
Drinks pictured: Oat flat white and tiramisu latte.
Went to Cafe Richmond the weekend before. It's a smallish cafe where they do coffee, matcha, speciality drinks and some cabinet food. They also have beans from different roasteries for their pourovers. The interior is very photogenic and the light was also pretty great in there! I had an oat flat white and my friend had a tiramisu latte, and I'm keen to go back to try some of their other coffee options.
Honey Springs Cafe, Onehunga
Drinks pictured: Oat flat white ($6.8) and Vanilla sea salt brew ($9)
Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend! I visited the newly opened Honey Springs cafe in Onehunga over the weekend. It's a large cafe with indoor and outdoor (covered) seating and they had a waitlist when we got there, but it didn't take too long before we got a table. Such a photogenic spot! I took waaay more photos than I posted. They are know for their soufflé, and use beans from BeSpecialty specially roasted for them.
PaCo Pocket, Mount Eden
Drinks pictured: Oat flat white and hot chocolate.
I go to Movespace once in a while for their events and I am lucky enough to live a short walking distance away from it. They now have a little cafe in there called PaCo Pocket that is open 4 days a week in the mornings. They use beans from Fount Coffee, offer some pastries as well, and it is super cosy! Glad to have found a new takeaway coffee spot closeby!
Stroll Coffee, Takapuna
Drinks pictured: Oat flat white and hot chocolate.
Was walking around in Takapuna on Saturday and noticed Stroll Coffee! It's a small but aesthetic cafe. My coffee was good and my partner liked the latte art on his hot chocolate. The barista was lovely as well, and though I don't go to Takapuna very often, I am happy to have chanced upon this little cafe!
Slow Koi, Auckland CBD
Drinks pictured: Iced (oat) matcha lattes.
I think this was their Spring blend, and it was really yummy in both cows's milk and oat milk. Better than the last time I had matcha here!
No. 117, Onehunga
Drinks pictured: Oat flat whites.
Didn't get too many photos of this place, but it's a large cafe with indoor and outdoor seats and a Vietnamese cuisine-inspired menu.
Atomic Coffee Roasters, Kingsland
Drinks pictured: Iced oat latte and iced chocolate.
One of the OGs of the Auckland cafe scene!
Slowlane, Greenlane
Drinks pictured: Oat matcha latte and Banana latte cold foam
They were pretty busy when we went but we were just 2 people so we got a table right away. They have indoor and (mostly covered) outdoor seating.
Workshop Bread Company, Mount Eden Village
Drinks pictured: Oat flat white ($6.2) and chai latte ($6.5)
Went to Workshop Bread Company in Mt Eden Village yesterday. This is in the location of where Olaf's used to be before they shut down. They use beans from Coffee Supreme. They make/bake a bunch of bread and have mostly indoor seats with some outdoor seats.
