“Grey’s Anatomy” only has two weeks to go until Season 12 is over, but rest assured, the drama is coming.
In this week’s episode, viewers will get deeper insight into Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jo’s (Camilla Luddington) relationship. But in Shondaland, when answers come, so do more questions.
“It’s been a really long time coming,” Luddington teases about tonight’s episode, which has a big scene between longtime couple Alex and Jo. “I think it’s time that you’ll see Jo finally answering the questions and then getting more clarity into where their relationship stands.”
Alex and Jo aren’t the only couple to have major moments in tonight’s episode. Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) take their relationship to the next level, while Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) continue to struggle with their current custody arrangement, after Arizona was awarded with full custody of their daughter, leaving Callie devastated.
“As the story was going, I actually thought that maybe Callie was going to get her. I thought maybe that lawyer was doing a better job at jabbing at Arizona, so I was completely shocked that it was Arizona,” Luddington tells Variety, reacting to last week’s shocker.
“That’s why the table reads are so fun is because we don’t know things,” Luddington adds, reminiscing on the season. “From April dealing with a new pregnancy to when Ben gave the patient a C-section, those moments are so shocking to us and everything always seems high risk. We’ve been joking to the writers, ‘Can we please have a beach episode where we drink piña coladas?’ Every season they put us through the wringer. We just end the season exhausted, but so excited. That’s the thrill of being part of the show. I don’t think we’ll ever get a beach episode!”
As for tonight’s episode and next week’s finale, Luddington warns viewers of major twists and turns.
“There are so many things going on. What I love about the last two episodes is that if you’re a specific fan of one couple or one person, there’s something for you. Everyone across the boards has something dramatic going on. There are moments where you get completely blindsided.”
With a laugh, she adds, “As many bottles of wine or tequila or whatever you drink and snack on to watch ‘Grey’s,’ stock up.”

It’s a good thing that I love every relationship (not every character though..) I guess I’ll see tonight. #GreyDay
Portia De Rossi as Elizabeth North
I’ve officially decided to draw Portia de Rossi.. Cause I mean, no one has seen my drawings and I’m pretty sure you don’t want to because I don’t think they are very good. I’m guessing this is gonna take place over around 3-5 hours tonight or tomorrow. I’m using pencils and a permanent marker for the darker spots. Wish me luck<3
What happened to you, you have to come back to me. I need you. You are all I have. You are everything because I didn’t save you in that Metro station. You saved me.
- Olivia Pope
Not regretting anything.
You’ve took in a wild monster and you groomed me, petted me, trained me to sit at your feet, but that doesn’t make me a puppy Liv. That just makes me a very loyal monster. So I didn’t go too far, I went exactly as far as my leach allows, and you hold the leach. You ruined her life and then you made me save her and gave her to me, to take under my wing.
Huck to Olivia about Quinn
Huck licking Quinns face then Quinn mirroring what he did to her.
“Huck licked my face, like I was a piece of meat, like I wasn’t human.”
-Quinn
“You went too far with Quinn.”
“No, you went too far.”
“Excuse me?”

“Huck..”
“You hold the leach. You went too far. You should have never given me someone to love. Monsters eat people, Liv. It’s what we do.”
