Stunning portraits show not all redheads are whiteĀ
Thereās a lot of mythology surrounding redheaded people, but one ignorant assumption trumps them all: Redheads are white. The reality? Theyāre not.Ā Photographer Michelle Marshall is raising awareness of this fact through her photo series āMC1R.ā Even someone with two black parents can have red hair.
At work today my classroom got up to around 40 degrees and that is not a nice temperature for 30 8 year olds and 3 members of staff when you have shit to do and cant just chill to stay cool
Because I keep complaining about being fat and barely doing anything (healthily) about it,joe has said that when i get to where I want to be he will buy me new underwear and something nice to wear and thats really sweet of him. Weāve also agreed to start going to the gym together when iām home for a few days and doing more excersiy things when weāre together (Like going for walks and junk) and its so cook of him because he want to get into shape and we can do it together and its so aww of him.
If you feel uncomfortable or nervous when you see someones name pop on your dash/ timeline then you need to end that friendship right now because that shit is not good for you
Fortunately, I havenāt personally experienced anything quite as awful as some of the anecdotes in this article, but it is still something I have to deal with along with every other person with food allergies. I was born with life threatening food allergies, so for the most part, my family has always been pretty understanding about it, especially after seeing numerous reactions and hospital visits, but there are still some slip ups. I canāt recall any incidents that were intentional, no one ever tried toĀ ātestā my allergies, or build up a tolerance, but for people without food allergies itās hard to grasp the fact that allergens can lurk in literally anything. I have to read ingredient labels on every single food/drink item along with lotions, shampoo, conditioner, soap, sunblock, makeup, etc.Ā
Sometimes I have gotten the feeling that some family members donāt take it as seriously as it should be, they think Iām just picky, which admittedly I can be, and Iām made to feel like a burden. As recently as this past Christmas Eve, my aunt hosted dinner and made pasta with bolognese sauce. Traditionally, this sauce has some sort of dairy product in it, usually milk or cheese. Growing up I loved bolognese sauce; itās very simple to just not add one ingredient and it tastes just as good, or so Iām told. However, she insisted on making it with cheese. My mom (who usually hosts but didnāt want to deal with the stress this year) became even more stressed thinking she had to make sauce for me. We ended up bringing some jarred sauce, and it was just very awkward. I couldnāt understand why she couldnāt leave out one ingredient so we could all have the same dinner and I didnāt have to feel excluded, not to mention that we had to go out of our way, as guests, to bring something and then prepare it when we got there. It also wouldāve been cheaper and less work if the cheese wasnāt added, so that felt like an extra slap in the face, like she purposely wanted to exclude me. Regardless of the thought process behind this, if there even was any, it was hurtful both to myself and my mom.Ā
For people without food allergies, or children with food allergies, itās just not something you think about, and I get that. Every single day, every single meal I have to think about what Iām eating, if itās safe, is there any chance of cross contamination, do I trust who prepared this, do I have benadryl and epinephrine with me⦠even at home after reading labels in the store I find myself double and triple checking whatās in my kitchen. For most people thatās not the case, they can eat whatever they want, they can try new foods without being paranoid and having to check with the chef or read ingredients, hell, most people probably donāt read ingredient labels at all. It is our job as people with food allergies/children with food allergies to be our own biggest advocate and educate those around us, especially family members. Granted, there will always be people in our lives that donāt get it and never will. For those people, Iāll continue to attempt to educate them on the subject, but Iāll always bring my own food and a backup if they decide to host a get together.Ā
one of the worst thing about a food allergy is people thinking its your choice, or joking that they are going to feed you the food youāre allergic to because theyāre witty and hilarious and no that would probably kill me
i canāt tell if iām actually better because i still get the urges and the sweats and looking at my wrists bugs me but i havenāt done anything in 6 months but is it because iām scared/ know joe will see and i donāt want to hurt him yeh i dont know sorry thisĀ might trigger but i cant find the āread onā thing anymore sorry.
Money also gets you
- Hella stressed (because you live paycheck to paycheck, worrying about rent, bills, transport to school/ work, feeding yourself as well as funding enough for a social life)
- Dept (because Iām a fucking student and my mothers income impacts on my loan, meaning I have spent 2/3s of my university experience overdrawn and working my arse off over summer to pay it all off, only to start over again. And the cost of living is so high right now most families are gambling or using pay day loans to make ends meet)
- not very fucking much because in the real world people are struggling on minimum wage jobs and canāt afford the shit youāre speaking about
