Kinda fucked up, but I do like that IDW Orion Pax is deeply flawed. Instead of being just stoic, benevolent Optimus, only a paragon of kindness and nothing else. In IDW, he's a passionate idealist, yet he's prone to violence when he doesn't get his way. So much so that his friends have to step in and snap him out of it. He does want peace for Cybertron, but until he wrestles with his biases, he's just another corrupt cop.
