Note: 1 hand high (h)= 4 inches
- two headed horses are not recommended for riding due to their difficulty communicating between heads. While Brahmin are polycephalic by standard and have evolved to accommodate two brains, horses are not standardly polycephalic and often have behavioral issues from their condition.
- Horses are now, on average( shorter. Riding and sport horses will commonly sit at 14-15hh. Draft breeds tend to be unpredictable in their growth, with a wide variation in height from 15.2hh to even 22hh!
- Sometimes born polydactyl. Controversially, some ranchers may amputate these extra toes for aesthetics.
- Horses have evolved to have less hair, as well as shorter hair. In very wet climates some horses may have hair growth similar to their pre-war ancestors.
- Hair starts further down the tail like in mules.
- Some horses are born with polymelia (extra, deformed limbs). These legs can grow anywhere. Limbs rooted in the saddle region may be amputated early to qualify the horse for saddle use. Horses with disqualifying anatomy may be instead used in plowing/farming, or butchered for food.
- Horses, male and female, both grow larger tushes (canines), and at equal rates among sex (as opposed to more commonly visible in males, among pre war ancestors). These teeth are developed fully in adulthood.
- These teeth are used for defense. They are now longer and sharper.
- Some riders may file these teeth down if ridden with a bit, as the bit can cause discomfort with longer teeth. Some riders may choose to ride bit-less instead.
