THE LAMENT OF PERFIDY
CHAPTER ONE: temptation to eviscerate.
❝ darling, you’re already in my veins. ❞
➶-͙˚ ༘✶
───────────────────────
“THEN HE KISSED HER.” Stefan Salvatore paused, peering down at Guinevere, his Guinevere, positioned so close to him. His voice, like melodious music hummed into her earlobes, he recited with eloquence again. “At his lips’ touch, she blossomed for him like a flower and the incarnation was complete.”
His voice, projected across the room in a perfectly measured pace, unhurried. But Guinevere was only half-listening, she could not divert her attention span from the feel of the slow and gentle thump of her suitor's heartbeat, keeping him alive. Her current location on his lap allowed the unique and uncommon ability to feel every inch of movement made by him, from the elegant rise in his chest as his lung civilly fought for its deep wisps of breath from the air that the pair bathed into the graceful bobbing of his Adam's Apple when he swallows a chunk of saliva.
Even the slightest shift of his thighs could be felt, as if it came from her, as she was seated flatly above him, her back pressed tightly to his chest. The pair was reclined on the young Salvatore's bed, his back leaned against the headboard with a book clutched in his left hand and a strand of the brunette locks twirled in that of his right hand.
Stefan continued his reading of ‘The Great Gatsby’. She sighed in contentment, nuzzling the back of her head more into his chest. There was nothing more precious than his shared sentiment with her regarding books. Guinevere absentmindedly trailed the tip of her fair-skin nimble fingers up and down his arm, repeating the pattern several times, until her eyes fluttered shut.
Reciting the devastatingly captivating words of Scott Fitzgerald to his beauteous damsel had been a novelty for him as well. Momentarily halting, he glances down at her hands, clutched around his arm, which had been ridden in goosebumps. Stefan doubted whether or not she was aware of her effect on him. There was not a soul on this planet like her, his mind had constantly mulled over the reality where a clean-cut guy hadn’t swooped in and charmed her before him (excluding the little runt, Tyler, who in Stefan's opinion hadn't deserved her all) and yet he was very pleased with her lack of past all the same. The two-hundred-year-old creature had a past painfully big enough for both of them.
Tossing the hardcover on the foot of the mattress, his eyes shifted to the girl that plagued his mind during sleepless dusks – only to find her half-awake. “You're not falling asleep on me, are you?” Her eyes flashed open faster than he could mutter ‘death’. He had not expected that would prove effective.
Guinevere, momentarily disorientated, felt the deep grumble his abdomen which was pressed against her lower back. Blinking several times, mentally scolding herself for not getting the early night's rest she required to function consciously. “No,” she replied, craning her neck in his direction, displaying a cheeky grin, an idea forming. “Your captivating voice lulled me into an unwanted sleep.” With mischief swimming in her silver lightening hues, she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth.
Stephan eyes drifted to her lips, teeth devotedly sunk into it, morphing the lip's usual colour to a crimson shade, a red shade, a dark hue very closely related to blood. His sustenance. His eyes darkening, he swallowed the pool of saliva that formed on his tongue. He shaped his lip into a tight line, fearing the dangerous tone of his voice had he dared open his mouth.
The creature of the night’s once lime tinged irises morphed to an inky abyss of blackness, with its debut it promises the arrival of the onyx veins that would expose the monster he had attempted to bury deep within.
As if his appearance had mirrored his thoughts, he wondered, how sweet her liquid red would taste, how euphoric it would feel to sink his teeth into her slender neck, to break the delicate skin with his fangs, doing exactly what he wanted to do ever since he first laid eyes on her. He’d shamefully fantasised about it many times, fantasised about satisfying the ravenous system and when the deed had been done he’d simply heal her pretty little human neck with his blood as if the sinful moment had never occurred at all. And snatching the scene from her mind simply because he could, selfishly containing the pleasurable memory for himself.
But as quickly as these disturbing string of thoughts entered his mind, they exited just as quickly, on his command. But what remained was the unprecedented desire burning in his chest as his eyes had yet to be unattached from her soft lips. His forest-green orbs lightened up yet again but only in subtlety, the darkness still skulk in the shadows deep within, awaiting, with great patience, to rise to power in his weakness hour of need, Stefan rued the day that he would permanently lose all his self-control, that everything his buried inside, would come rushing to the surface.
But not today, not with her.
Stefan would rather discard his lapis lazuli gemstone and have the fatality of the sunlight’ rays take him prisoner and condemn him to ashes before any danger befell her, least of all at his hand.
Stefan could not begin to comprehend the depth of feeling he possessed for the not-entirely-human girl gazing up at him with a galaxy of stars singularly compacted in ash-coloured eyes.
But he knew one thing: he wanted her, in any way he could have her. And with that revelation, he impulsively opened his mouth, taking a chance. “I think I know how to keep you awake.” His words, accompanied by a suggestive smirk, sent shivers down her spine. His smirk widens when he felt it.
“H-how?” She managed to say, her eyes dilated.
Being birthed in the golden era where the lack of chivalry and honour brought shame to his family name, Stefan was taught to behave like the gentleman, but the insinuation of his actions was contrasted with everything he believed in, and in some ways, it was more severe than if
he were to devote his life to be an avid blood consumer. But he could not resist the urge, as tempting as it seemed, she was much too mouthwatering, in more ways than one.
“Close your eyes, Guinevere.” And so she did, without a moments thought. Completely and utterly incapable of denying him or fighting the spell he cast at this very moment.
But here's the bulk of irony: it was Stefan, the vegetarian vampire, who had felt bewitched, both in mind and in the body. In turn, brought up the palm of his hand to gently caress the soft skin of her cheek. He inched his facial figure closer to hers, his hot breath fanning on her lip, the lower yet again trapped – even tighter than before, between her teeth. And her scent, the mouthwatering smell, surrounded him like a border, there was not a corner untouched by it. She was everywhere, it was bittersweet. It only seems to enhance his hunger tenfold. He saw red, literally.
He could feel himself losing the internal civil war. His grip on what little humanity he had nearly slipped. But a faint throb collided into him like a runaway train, it was her heartbeat. Her heart was hammering in the cage formed by with her ribs and vigorously so. Shocked flooded through his system like a tidal wave. Had his actions, however subtle they may seem, held this much power over her reactions? He refocused his enhanced hearing on the sound of her heartbeat, allowing it to lull the most admirable part of him back to her. Thump Thump Thump. It was this, more than anything else, that calmed Stefan.
He refocused his attention back to her, who was patiently awaiting his advances. He rubbed his thumb across her blazing hot cheeks, she, in return, leaned her into him, excitement running through her veins as a result of the promise of what was to come. He gently brushed his nose against hers, silently asking for permission to lock lips. Her velvety tongue slip between her plump lips, licking her bottom lip ever so slowly, much to Stefan's (dis)pleasure. It was all the indication Stefan needed to lessen the space between them completely.
His lips engulfed hers, the ardent nature of the kiss caught her off guard, however premeditated the kiss was. At his lips’ touched, Guinevere bloomed for him like a flower just as Daisy did for Jay. A flower that had experienced its first ray of sunshine. He was her moon, providing her with light at the end of an unforgiving and cold tunnel. And she was his sun, providing him with the blinding light that had been snatched from him, but it wasn't his to keep. It was as if he was living off borrowed air. But didn't have the strength to resist her, not anymore.
When she retreated for air, he scanned her features, she's all crimson cheeks and heavy breaths, hair in havoc – in short: she was stunning. What he said next was more of a self-directed inquiry than a statement to her but it set her heart alit.
Placing a chaste yet lingering kiss on Guinevere's neck, carefully avoiding her pulse, he whispered in a hushed tone, “Do you have any idea how beautiful you look right now?”

Ghost lore
Most of this is taken from the movie and then further speculation. It borders on headcanon and actual canon. This one might also be a long one.
It all stems from Energy-
Ghosts require a LOT of energy when it comes to interacting with the living world. For example they can’t be throwing bottles all day and show up whenever they please. It takes time to build that up. Time or emotion. (Vance’s anger, Billy’s annoyance. All of their stress in the moment to get Finney out). The basement boys have less of a recharge time then id imagine to be normal… I believe this is because of the phone acting as a conduit. it’s one big spirit box! Literally. (In this sense also acting like a ouija board punching a hole for easy communication)
Appearing-
Likewise - becoming a apparition is about the biggest energy consumer of them all. It is not easy and guaranteed to be a short window of time. They can’t talk when they physically appear either as all focus is on being visible, talking would almost instantly drain you. (Thus why they only appear for two seconds In front of Gwen instead of yelling ‘over here’ or ‘this way’ or something)
In Griffins case, someone mentioned this in the comments of one of my posts. But there’s the idea that, since his throat is slit he can only speak if spoken to. Thus pointing to the phone or generally being more focused on appearing. Which- to that I think he does the trick the most out of the boys. While they prank call he appears in corners etc. this actually makes him one of the more powerful boys next to Billy and Vance! Even if he can’t speak well/horrible mental state.
Free roaming apparitions-
The boys have full range of either of the Shaw properties. Dying in one basement, burried in the other. They are tied to both homes/the road out front. Stemming from trauma, I find they’d be unable to leave beyond this.
Memory-
This one is tricky. Bruce loses himself quickly, billy is pretty lost but Vance , Robin and griffin ultimately know who they are (or have a base idea…) as your name is “the first thing you loose” yet Vance is a victim much earlier than Robin and still knows his own.
It’s a futile effort. No matter what you are going to boil down to a feeling, a breath of a memory, a vague idea of a kid that you used to be. Even if you know your name- you won’t know your life past a few blurry details and it’s sad!
The boys are always there. They talk, they mess things in the house they find some way to talk and take their minds off things. Talk about the little things they do know. Probably referring to each other as such (like how Billy’s paper boy, I imagine the rest boil down to similar concepts.
This post is getting long, I’m going to save Gwens whole thing for a later date. Look out for it
“You do know there will never be a day where you do not vex me.”
“Is that a promise, Kathani Sharma?”
“Yes. Yes, it is a promise.”

ENTJ : Eh wait, no no nope. You're not like him. Cause you're one in a million.
INTP : Hahahaha. Nope I'm not one in a million
ENTJ : Well.. you are to me 😊
INTP: *blushes*
INTP Fact #6
Being an INTP and personally has a crush on someone is like, totally insane. Like, you keep second-guessing your feelings. You even DENY your feelings to the point you can’t keep up anymore and become an emotional loaf of bread.
I wish I had no feelings
What is love? What is a feeling?
Am I in love with them?
Can they eat bread?
Hrrgggggg what is wRONG WITH ME
If feeling was a rock, I’d love to toss it out of the wINDOW
Love is just a chemical reaction sTOP
yup
the crushing (sorry I had to) emotional agony of a crush as experienced by a female INTP
Phase 1: Denial
excessively looking for reasons why this person definitely doesn’t make a good romantic interest
noticing the symptoms of physical attraction and being genuinely puzzled by them
this is the second time our fingertips brushed and it felt like an electric shock again
wow, I really am touch starved
trying to logic my way out of feelings by making seemingly rational excuses for the state I’m in (hormones, loneliness, my grandma’s friend’s cousin’s hamster died so I’m totally just trying to fill the void)
screaming profanities at myself in my head whenever I think about him
cutting him off “not to give him any ideas”
DAMMIT I’M NOT READY FOR A RELATIONSHIP
online quizzes. so many online quizzes
legit brain vs heart tug-of-war
Phase 2: Panic
this is when the possibility of having a crush really dawns on me
cutting him off so I don’t have to face my feelings
praying to the stars that he doesn’t like me back
BECAUSE I’M REALLY NOT READY FOR A DAMN RELATIONSHIP
but at the same time wanting him to feel the same
because that’s what a crush is about
examining the seriousness of the crush by playing out scenarios in my head and gauging my reactions
like, haha, what if he kissed me, what a weird thought… oh, I’m actually not opposed to that… oops
everything now reminds me of crush so random little things set off the panic
oh, look, air, you know who breathes air…?
CODE RED ALERT : EMOTIONAL INVOLVEMENT DETECTED
PANIC MODE ACTIVATED
SHUTTING DOWN ALL SYSTEMS
COMMENCE AUTODESTRUCTION IN 3…2…1…
Phase 3: Acceptance
this comes after all defense mechanisms have failed
silver lining: panic mode deactivated
huge ass storm cloud: awkward mode activated
still cutting him off because I’m afraid of coming on too strong and scaring him away
jealousy blown out of proportion
she said hello to him, I now officially hate her guts
finding excuses to text him (look at this meme boredom and procrastination made me create)
noticing the symptoms of physical attraction and actually attributing them to the crush
like, look how close he’s standing, this is one of the rare occasions that prove my heart is not a lump of granite in disguise because I can feel an actual heartbeat
getting sad when we don’t talk for like two hours
referencing our conversations, similarities and inside jokes
stealing glances
and don’t let all of that fool you…
STILL NOT READY FOR A RELATIONSHIP NEVER IN A MILLION NEPTUNIAN YEARS
INTP: remember that time when I told you I had never been kissed and you changed the subject?
ENFP: what. I literally replied with "I volunteer". How is that changing the subject?
INTP:
ENFP:
INTP: OH SO YOU DON'T WORK FOR ANY NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS?
After watching Persuasion, I came to this conclusion. The writers think the best bet to make a period movie successful is to make the audience believe that the main character is someone who is very different and no one is quite like them. Make the heroine not feminine (because people are used to the sophisticated and accomplished feminine women) and let her speak freely.
Writers need to understand that everyone loves Lizzy's and Emma's character because their personality was not so common during the Regency Era. There were very few women in those time who spoke their mind, were free-spirited and used their wit to their advantage. In short, they were different and didn't fit into the norms of normal and this is why their charcaters are celebrated. They were a kind of rebel.
However, Anne's character might not be the kind of "different" we are used to but it certainly is different. We respect her being different. She is kind, selfless and calm but she is strongest in the face of adversity and always knows the right thing to speak. Normal norms don't expect a woman to take decisions in critical situations and say right things at right time always. But here is our Anne suggesting every right thing while trying to help her father cut down on his expenses and then getting Louisa treated after the fall and never offending anyone with the things she says even unintentionally. She is a intelligent and empathetic woman who gets along with Mary and her in-laws simultaneously. This is not everyone's cup of tea and this woman is very strong and different from the conception of a typical woman.
Dear writers, making a woman witty, sarcastic and clever is not the only way to portray women who don't fit into the standard definition of woman. A woman with absolute presence of mind, no interest in gossips, devotion to others is also considered to be different.
You can't lure the audience eveytime making them believe that the main heroine breaks the norms of society and present only one kind of difference. Respect the different kind of DIFFERENT.
Thank you for coming to my half-witTED TALK.
"In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."
so......you liked bridgerton?

to marry and to meddle [martha waters] lady emily turner should be married by now but her father's debts as her dowry doesn't seem very appealing to suitors, lord julian belfry has managed to scandalise society with his acting career and owns a less than salubrious theatre, they both decide to enter a marriage of convenience- she provides him promo for his theatre and won't have to marry a creep to help her father, tropes- marriage of convenience

the heiress gets a duke-[harper st james] american heiress august crenshaw wants to head her family's business but society refuses, her younger sister is offered up to the highest bidder, evan sterling, duke of rothschild, as august is deemed unsuitable for her progressive ways! evan refuses to back down from this marriage as he needs the money that marrying a crenshaw heiress will bring but after meeting her fiery sister, he realises that violet is the sister he wants, violet refuses to let her sister get married to evan and pulls every trick possible to call off the wedding, (this is literally kathony!!)
mr malcolm’s list-[suzanne allain] think john tucker must die meets regency. jeremy has a long list of requirements that a woman must meet to be deemed suitable as his wife, selina is invited that her friend julia invited her to london until she learns its to plot revenge on mr malcolm.. (this is being adapted into a movie starring zawe ashton, theo james, gemma chan and freida pinto).
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that I am just....so unbelievably tired.
Someone who loves you truly will always respect you. I was re-reading Pride and Prejudice and this is what occured to me.
Mr. Collins didn't love Lizzy and that's why didn't respect her decision of refusing his proposal. He kept on saying all kind of illogical things, trying to convince her to change her decision, wasn't at all discouraged by her and kept on pestering her to accept his proposal.
He didn't give in to Lizzy's resolve to refuse him. He didn't consider her determined and wise enough to make the best decision for herself. He kept on mistaking her refusal for the affectation and coquetry of an elegant female because he didn't hold Lizzy and her opinions in a position to be respected.
While Mr. Darcy, being truly in love with Lizzy, insulted her connections and status(he surely was very arrogant) but respected her decision of blatantly refusing him. He retrospected the events he was accused of and offered her an explanation but without pressuring her to change her mind. He again mentioned that one word from her would silence him on this subject forever. He believed her reasons for rejecting him and respected her decision.
He considered Lizzy's social status beneath himself but never doubted her intelligence or capability to make right decision for herself. He knew she was smart, accomplished and trusted her judgement. DARCY RESPECTS LIZZY.
WHO LOVES YOU, WILL ALWAYS RESPECT YOU.
Thank you so so much for coming to my half-witTED TALK.
P.S. - True P&P fans can romanticize every single event of the novel. :)
